What can I say? I thoroughly enjoyed writing this book. The levity, banter, and shenanigans gave me a break from the heaviness that can be everyday life.
My goal for this story was simply to put a smile on your face for a few hours. The Carmichael men are swoony and steamy, while also being a little silly. The tropes are some of my favorites—a twist on "fake dating" (she needs a fake ex-husband), found family, small-town, friends-to-lovers, he falls first ... does it get any better than that? Not for me. This is my writing catnip.
I hope this book brings you a few hours of joy, a handful of laughs, and a smile that lingers long after you finish the book.
Thank you for considering this book. I know you have a million choices out there, and I’m honored that you decided to give Fluke, and me, a try.

What a great book to start off April with! I’m loving this series, it is fun, hilarious and so romantic that I’m addicted! Jess and Pippa are childhood friends who grew apart over time. Jess has been in love or had feelings for Pippa for years, but Pippa is terrified of love based on her relationship with her parents. Pippa needs a fake ex-husband after lying during a work meeting and then getting a promotion and she didn’t want her lie to come out. Jess happily volunteers for the position.
After that, this book did not follow the traditional fake dating plot at all, and I loved it. So much of this book surprised me and was so unpredictable that I adored reading it. I took my time with this book, I savored it and I’m so glad I did! I’ve been dying for Banks’ book since this series began and I cannot wait till his book comes out!

I was excited to read the next Carmichael book and I loved Jess Carmichael! This book reminded me of the last book in a lot of ways. They both had that falling in love on a fun trip vibe. It felt too similar to me. I still love this family and the book as a whole was pretty good. I’m excited to read this one because I know Banks’ book will be the most hilarious!

Just when I think that I've already met the swooniest Carmichael brother- Adriana drops another book and I'm completely blown away! Her ability to craft these entertaining families while mixing in a perfect blend of heart and heat has me always coming back for more.
Fluke, the 3rd Carmichael Family book, brings us Jess Carmichael and his dream girl, Pippa Plum, and the strange turn of events that has Pippa looking for a fake ex-husband. I literally could not put this book down! Jess and Pippa's story is a fabulous combination of hilariously entertaining, sweet and tender moments, and so much spicy tension that I wanted to beg for them 🥵
I don't know what kind of story I was expecting for Jess, but based on the interactions with him in Moss and Maddox's books I can say that a "he falls first" storyline was not it. After reading Fluke, I don't think I could imagine a story any different for him. My heart and face had a perma-smile in the way that Jess approached his relationship with Pippa and the confidence that she was it for him, even as she wavered with her insecurities. Jess said and did all the perfect, swoon inducing things- that I'm a little jelly Pippa gets him and not me 🤪 I absolutely adored Pippa- she's funny, sassy and despite not having a warm family life growing up she fit in with the Carmichael chaos perfectly.
While I love the journey of Pippa and Jess coming together and taking the leap to building a real relationship- this book couldn't have been more perfect without having all the hilarity that is the Carmichael family. From the ongoing couch saga to Banks being... well- Banks, I was legitimately laughing out loud throughout this book.
I can't wait to find out who is behind all the random animal fact texts in each story, what on earth Foxx actually does, and what woman is going to adopt Banks- though I have a hope for a story that I would love to see!

Let’s just say here’s hoping Fluke is just that…a fluke. I’ve been reading AL’s books for several years & enjoyed so many of my AL reads, but as it stands, Fluke is easily my second-worst AL read. Yeah, I suppose Pippa & Jess’s romance kinda had a moment or two, but otherwise to sum up how their romance felt in three words (excluding articles) - disjointed. tedious. (a) chore.

If I could give this entire series infinity stars I really would. I would have stayed up way too late finishing this book if I didn’t have to work the next day.
Adriana did a lot of teasing of Jess before this book came out, and let’s just say she delivered on him😏 You didn’t get to know him super well before Fluke, but I really loved getting to know him in this one! He knows how to be super sweet but also when to be spicy 🥵 I love how he just wanted to show Pippa that he’s not going anywhere.
What can I say about Pippa? I think she can be a character that so many relate too, even if the circumstances aren’t the same. We all have insecurities and past experiences that shape who we are. But at the same time, a new experience can start to change that.
I love that we got a lot more of the Carmichael family in this one and all the connections! Plus the pranks with Banks? I cannot wait to see how this continues to play out in Banks story!
This book releases April 10. If you haven’t read Flirt or Fling, pick those up immediately to get ready for this release! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

These Carmichael siblings are probably my favorite from this talented storyteller. They're funny and outrageous and larger than life, and they're people I would love to know in real life.
Pippa Plum needs an ex-husband. No, she's never been married, but she may have opened her mouth at work, Bloom Match, and now her coworkers can’t stop asking questions. And when she proposes a retreat for couples as one of the services the matchmaking company offers, Pippa is on the hook to experience it with her ex. Yeah, the one she doesn’t have.
Jess Carmichael happens to be in the right place at the right time to learn of Pippa's dilemma and, of course, he offers to act as her ex. It's not much of a stretch, considering he's been asking Pippa for a date off and on for the past decade and a half. But Jess has a condition or two of his own that need to be met before he'll act as Pippa's fake ex-husband.
I swear, just when I think the Carmichael brothers can’t get any more ridiculous with their pranks (looking at you, Banks) Locke dreams up even more madcap mayhem that made my stomach hurt from laughing so much. Fortunately for Pippa, Jess is the grownup in the room and has a heart as big as the ocean. He's patient and kind and loyal, and exactly what Pippa needs.
Yes, this story made me laugh out loud, and the steam made me blush, but the authentic, poignant emotion reached deep into my heart. Seeing Pippa learn to love and let herself be loved, and watching her found family welcome her warmly with open arms was immensely satisfying. And Jess was the perfect book boyfriend, the kind of guy every girl deserves to be loved by, and so freaking swoony!
So definitely run to the 1-Click and read this one ASAP. After all, we all need to be ready for Banks when his book comes out next. He's a lot, a whole lot, but I suspect he might just have the biggest heart of all.

Who knew he was going to end up being the perfect mixture of romantic and naughty!
I quickly became obsessed with these 2!
How in the world did Pippa last YEARS of his attention without cracking?!
Well, after reading, I obviously understand better but she has some serious willpower!
Also…Pippa and Kerissa’s friendship was a great addition to the story! I always love a strong girl bond!
And of course, I always have a bit of a soft spot for Banks! I can’t wait for Flaunt!!

The Carmichael men never disappoint!
This story follows Jess and Pippa. Jess who’s been trying to court pippa for the last I don’t know 15 years and Pippa who is just blindly oblivious to it.
Pippa impulsively drops a white lie about being married and divorced to save her ass at work and Jess white knights his way into helping sell the lie. Jess is determined to show her she probably feels the same way for him as he does for her but he only has a week to do it. But, he’s a Carmichael does he even need a week? 😏
I don’t know what damaris put in their food growing up but Jess, just like Maddox and Moss, is nothing but swoon, charm, patient, and the probably the sweetest man - so go damaris for producing so many top tier men, I’m sure kixx helped at least a little but damaris is the real star there 😂
It looks like we have banksy next , and let’s be honest he’s been the real main character all along. Let’s hope his new best friend doesn’t come from the best prank the Carmichael men have pulled yet . 😉

Jess Carmichael o kadar ama o kadar green flag bir karakterdi ki.
Çok güzel sevdi, çok anlayışlıydı. Destekleyici, verici...
Gerçeklik kontrolü anlarında, zaman zaman bu kadar da olmaz dedirtti ama yine de iyiyidi.
Özellikle ilerleyen kitaplarda Tavuk Baba olarak karşımıza çıkması 😁 bu aile normal değil.
Ama yine aynı muhabbet.Dönem dönem flört eden, arkadaş takılan bir çiftti.
Jess'e kalsa işler çoktan yol almışlardı ama Pippa biraz yavaş ilerledi.

Another fabulous friends-to-lovers story from the Carmichael Family series, I am loving these brothers, and their books, so much!
Pippa grew up with the Carmichael boys as part of her life. Her older brother was best friends with Jess Carmichael, and though she’s now estranged from her family, she’s never forgotten Jess. So when she moves back into town and runs into him, they’re both happy to see each other. For Jess, Pippa is his lifelong crush, and the girl he never had a shot with. Now that they’re all grown up, he makes it clear once again that he’s interested, but she knows that he wants a life that includes a big family, and she doesn’t want that. What’s the point in exploring their wild chemistry if they want different things?
But Pippa has just landed herself in trouble. In order to prove herself in her new job working for a matchmaking organisation, she told her colleagues that she is divorced, with an ex-husband that she’s still very close to, who would do anything to get her back. When she is pressured to produce said ex-husband and take him on a getaway to test out a couples retreat, Jess jumps in to save the day. He agrees to act the part and do what she needs, but on his own terms.
Be still my heart, I was instantly in love with Jess! He is a smitten man, and OMG, I loved it! Knowing that this is finally his shot, he goes all in with Pippa. He is flirtatious and effortlessly sexy, and he holds nothing back from her, and I was in swoony heaven.
It’s sexy and intense, the chemistry between them absolutely sizzles, and they are on fire together! But more than just sex, there’s a strong emotional connection between them which is so gorgeous to see. They know that they’re in love with each other, and while they acknowledge that they want different things, they allow themselves to have their moment and act on their feelings, and Jess is going to do everything he can to hold on to his girl.
The drama is there and waiting for them, but they both go in with eyes wide open, knowing what they want, and knowing what the other wants. They figure it out as they go, and I loved watching them work through it all and find their way to the HEA.
As always, the whole Carmichael family are a big part of the journey, as are Pippa’s fabulous girlfriends. They’re all heavily involved, supporting from the sidelines, and they bring a lot of fun and heart to the story. Banks is… very Banks, stealing almost every scene he’s in, and I enjoyed seeing so much of him again.
I loved this story. Fun, sexy, beautifully swoony and low-angst, it was a perfect escapist read.

Ya çok tatlı bir romantik kitaptı. Fazla rom-com okuyan birisi değilimdir ve kolay kolay beğenmem çünkü genelde klişe gelir. Ama bunu gerçekten sevdim. Wow!!!! What a book - I think Jess is my favorite so far but then these brothers keep on getting better and better. Loved Pippa and felt for her and wanted to slap her mother, she and Brooke def have that in common. Jess & Pippa were an amazing couple and loved that he never gave up on her once and understood what she needed. Banks and his antics made me smile so much but boy could Jess get him good. The banter in these books just makes me smile so much and love the theme which runs through this series and can't wait to see what Adriana has in store for us next but i think the woman for Banks will bring him to his knees.

I swear I fall more in love with the Carmichael family with every book, they're just the freaking best!
Jess Carmichael seriously brings the swoon to his story. He's been trying to get Pippa to fall in love with him for 15 years when the opportunity arises because she's in need of an ex-husband to appease her co-workers and land the promotion of her dreams.
Jess agrees to be Pippa's "ex-husband", but isn't about to fake anything on their couples retreat and leading up to it. Trying to resist Jess is futile...and who would want to?! He's the ideal book boyfriend and I loved their path to a HEA.
Dual POV, tons of family hijinks, spice and just an all around good time! Super fun read!!

What a fantastic read!
I have a new favorite in the series. Loved Jess and Pippas story so much. The love that he had for her for all these years...swoon!!! And of course, the banter between Charmichaels....brilliant!

So, Fluke by Adriana Locke is the latest AMAZING book in the Carmichaels' extremely entertaining, somewhat steamy and ALWAYS family-first, small-town series! With Ms. Locke's signature style, the brilliant banter between the Carmichael siblings is truly a joy to read! I can't tell you how many times I actually laughed out loud while reading this one....in between fanning myself because Jess Carmichael just MAY be my fave AL H to date! That's a tall order to beat the likes of Lincoln Landry, Walker Gibson, Fenton Abbott AND Crew Gentry (my heart just swooned just thinking about these SWOONY heroes!!!) Jess is right up there alongside them!
As for Pippa Plum, she is one of my fave heroines! She is relatable, adorable, has a BFF (Kerissa) who is a pure delight and her mouth gets her into SO MUCH TROUBLE!!! She is sassy, witty, strong when she needs to be....and when the "situation" between her and Jess takes a decidedly SPICY turn? *cue heart-melting emoji*

Jess and Pippa have been dancing around each other for years. He's been in love with her since he's seen her, but doesn't really make his move until an opportunity presents itself to act as her Ex-husband. Pippa has grown up to believe she's not lovable so she has always kept Jess at arms length knowing he wants the marriage and kids route. When these two start a fake former marriage, Jess takes the opportunity to quickly make it a real relationship. You get more Carmichael family gathers, and Banks hijinks as well and Jess pull the ultimate comeback on him that will have you laughing out loud!

I always have a hard time writing reviews for this author, I love everything she writes. Her humor, banter, her strong, sassy females, and do not get me started on her men! Most are one day reads. I always look forward to an Adriana Locke book and have read most of them more than once.
So read this book now and fall in love with Jess and Pippa, or make it next on your TBR, you will not be disappointed.

Just like the blurb says, this is a fun take on the fake relationship trope...I am fairly certain this is the first title I have read that has a heroine who needs a fake ex-husband. There were parts of this story that were a little silly, but I do believe brothers would have a rivalry like the one in this book, and it was funny, so I enjoyed it.
Jess has been in love with Pippa for years, so when she needs someone to pretend not only to have been involved with her, but actively trying to win her back, he is all in. It takes a little longer for Pippa to figure out that the relationship she has with Jess has the potential to be more than friends, or a fling.
Add in an awful coworker and some fabulous chemistry, and this was a great story about 2 people who are destined to be together taking a little time to figure out that they are destined to be with one another.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.

2.5 stars. I normally love this author’s books and her characters but this one was hard for me to get into. I liked Jess, and it was fun to see his family members again, but I just didn’t like Pippa at all. I honestly thought Jess deserved better. I liked the other two books in this series so much better and I’m excited for Banks book next, but this one was a disappointment.

I need to start this review by saying Jess is the perfect book boyfriend. I'm just gonna say this and hopefully Graham and Lance don't hate me after this (I still love you guys) but he is by far my favorite Adriana Locke man. There I said it.
I mean what's not to love. He's been in love with Pippa for 15 years. All he ever did was try to show her just how special she was to him. And now that the opportunity has presented herself, he's taking it and hopefully at the end, will get him his dream girl.
Pippa knows he is special. She's rebuffed his advances in the past, thinking they don't want the same things in life. Her family really did a number on her, and she feels like she can't be loved. The whole Carmichael comes together to show her that she is one of them and the love they can offer comes at no price. It takes her a minute but when she realizes that she's her own worst enemy, after that everything falls into place, and she can finally find her HEA in the arms of Jess. What a lucky girl she is...
Now that I know Banks is next, I can't wait to see who will restrain his Goldretriver energy. I think it needs to be someone grumpy because we all know that opposites attract.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
I did liked this story, as much as I liked the previous book, and that's why I'm giving it a 3 stars for the book, but still 5 stars to the audiobook narration!
This book looks kinda of exactly like Fling (the second book in this brother's series).
The same "always loved her", the same "fear of commitment" from one of them, the same "quick trip getaway all in" for them to connect and enjoy themselves, the same "I need some time, things are moving too fast" separation conflict, even Banks acting as the neglected and abandoned child... There's too many plot/details coincidences between the two books to not mention or get bothered.
So as much as I enjoyed Jess and Pipa, I wasn't ready for a retelling of the previous book.
I'm still excited for Banks book, cause I know he won't disappoint me 😂.

This is a fun book and my first experience with the Carmichael family. Wow! I definitely need to go back and read the first two books. The Carmichael brothers are hilarious-especially Banks.
Pippa Plum has known Jess Carmichael for most of her life. He has asked her out yearly and she has turned him down. Now, when she gets herself into a predicament with her (non-existent) ex-husband story, he comes to her rescue. He is very ready to show her what a real relationship with him would be like and soon real feelings (that seemed to always have been there) emerge. But Pippa doesn't do marriage, children and happily ever after. Can Jess convince her?
I listened to the audiobook of this and the narration by Samantha Brentmoor and Ryan West was really good.

This book was HOT. 🥵
Jess Carmichael was a wonderful breath of fresh air compared to other MMCs. He’s sweet, funny, kind, and does not hesitate even a little to show Pippa exactly how he feels. Pippa is a beautiful, independent badass with insecurities, as all badasses have, and I absolutely loved when she gave in to Jess. Their chemistry was off the charts from the very beginning and their s3x scenes were scorching. Though there were no grapes involved, this was definitely among the authors hottest books.
As usual, the author created a world and characters that I wish were real. The side and returning characters are hilarious and memorable, and are “people” I’d love to be friends with in real life.

This book is part of the Carmichael series, however you can read it as a standalone. Each of the books in the series are companion novels with each book reading as a standalone with interconnected characters. This one focuses on Jess one of many Carmichael brothers, and Pippa an old family friend who has moved back to town for work.
I'm a big fan of Adriana's family series. I love that we get glimpses into the other characters lives and we always get hijinks from Banks. His antics are laugh out loud funny. I can't wait for his book. This has all of my favorite things: friends to lovers, great banter, great conversations, humor, and great characters. Jess and Pippa have known each other for many years, but their attraction never worked out when they were younger. Now that they are adults, they have an opportunity to see if there is more to it than just attraction. Pippa has created a situation for herself at work where she needs an ex-husband to go on a couples retreat with to see if she can rekindle a spark with. This is where Jess, her long time crush come in to save the day. Fortunately for Pippa, he's been asking her out for years and jumps at the chance to actually have a chance with her.
Jess and Pippa's romance seems to develop a big quickly, but they have known each other for along time. It is a bit on the insta-love side of the romance spectrum, even with them knowing each other previously. I usually dislike insta-love storylines, but I didn't mind this one. Jess is patient and kind and was the kind of cheerleader Pippa needed to show her that not all relationships end in doom and gloom and disappointment. Pippa has had some pretty bad experiences when it comes to love in her life romantic and otherwise, so when Jess sweeps her off her feet she keeps waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop because that's all she knows.
Overall this is another home run romance in the series. It is one of the spicier books Adriana has written, but I didn't feel it was over the top or too much. The characters are fun and playful and this is a fun twist on the fake relationship trope. I love this series and can't wait for the next book in the series!
