When trust is a death wish, falling in love might just be the dumbest thing she’s ever done.
Danika Smith never planned to get attached. She’s a hitwoman, not a hopeless romantic. But somehow, between dodging assassination attempts and trying (and failing) to keep Emilio De Luca at arm’s length, she’s found herself pushed into the one place she swore she’d never be—falling for someone she was supposed to use.
Now, she’s stuck navigating the chaos of a (ew) relationship with a man who shouldn’t trust her, while secretly plotting a murder they definitely can’t get caught committing. Between Emilio’s determination to break down her walls, Danika’s struggle to let him, the small issue of a brewing gang war, and a stolen set of twins, things are getting out of hand. Fast.
Emilio is convinced she’s capable of something softer. Danika is convinced she’s not. And the deeper they get into their tangled web of violence, deception, hilarious shenanigans, and feelings (ugh), the more she realizes she might not have just been pushed into his world—she might actually want to stay in it. Which is fine. Totally fine. As long as their secrets don’t get them killed first. Or Yakov. He might murder them all.
Push Me is the second book of three following Danika Smith, a recently retired, grumpy hitwoman who needs a mark to stay sane, and Emilio De Luca, a sweet and sunshine mafia man, who's currently pretending to be in charge of his family of menaces. This story, is hilarious, slow burn spicy, and thrilling. It follows Danika as she seeks revenge against an old enemy, whilst Emilio does whatever he can to get out of his unwanted arranged marriage, to that same mans daughter. Expect lots of fun flipped tropes, and a reverse grumpy sunshine, suspense spicy romance, in a found family and female stalker story with mild forced proximity & strangers to friends to lovers. Part of a MF, romantic comedy trilogy.
For fans of books like Butcher and Blackbird, Rook & Rebel, and Lights Out.
This series is full of interconnected standalones, duologies, trilogies, and more — a world of powerful families, deadly rivalries, and unforgettable love stories. Each character in each main family (and the fun side characters) gets their own story with a complete ending but I think it's more fun to read them all and see all the great cameos and shenanigans that occur.
Push Me is Book 2 in Danika and Emillio’s story, and I honestly adored it. I was so close to giving this a full five stars, but a few moments felt like the author was stretching scenes for word count. Chapter 4 did make me laugh out loud, but it’s also the clearest example of where the story felt slightly padded.
That said, this is a pitch‑black love story with a delicious twist, and it absolutely delivers where it matters.
If you’ve read Game On (Book 1), you already know how intense and compelling the relationship between Danika and Emillio is — and in Push Me, that bond only deepens. Their connection grows stronger, darker, and more emotionally charged, making every interaction feel earned and meaningful.
One thing I didn’t realise when starting this book was that Book 3 hasn’t been released yet. To say I’m distraught is an understatement. The major cliffhanger and the precarious position Danika, Emillio, and the De Luca family are left in had me closing the book in shock and desperation for more.
If you love:
•A besotted Mafia man •A hitwoman terrified of her own feelings •Dark romance with genuine emotional stakes
…then Push Me is absolutely for you. Bring on Book 3 — please

This is a different type of Mafia romance but none the less a great story within its rights. It has passions, comedy and the typical suspense and drama that you find in other stories but this one unlike the others and had me sitting up and taking notice. It is well written, has great characters that I enjoyed reading and connecting with.

It was alright, there was a lot going on, a ton of characters and mini stories happening all over. It was messier and more all over the place than the 1st book. Idk if 3 books were really necessary for this story, seems like 2 should have been enough and then onto side characters and their stories. I like the reverse grumpy x sunshine dynamics and golden retriever mafia man and all that. It was just too much and the digital book needs some editing. A lot of typos.
A wonderfully compelling, wildly intelligent, intrigue-filled story with a delicious combination of gripping tension, wicked humour, emotional impact, and intense love. Thoroughly engrossing! P.S. I loved chapter 4!.
A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
I thought this was well written and I enjoyed reading it I couldn't put it down. Tierney Storer does it again, I always look forward to reading their books. I can't wait to read more. This is the second book in this series. I recommend this book.

I hated when I had to put the suspense down! I LOVED the comedy and the intensity in this book. This is one I feel book 2 is better than book 1 and book 1 was good, so I can only imagine what book 3 is going to do to me! I can't wait!
