The Dutch are my current obsession. From living in a swampy place no one else wanted, to world leaders in trade, science, education ... survival, I have come to realize that these resilient and persistent people are the ultimate problem solvers. It's simply part and parcel of their history, and their genetics. The one Dutch person I have gotten to know is the very best of this world: full of hope and wonder, goodness and giving. This book has given me a little of the history of the Netherlands; I hope my upcoming trip gives me a glimpse of Holland's heart and culture, and most of all her people! Ga Oranje!!
