How much do I love a MMC who isn’t afraid to say how he feels and be open and honest !!!

I fell hard for Logan and how he wasn’t afraid to say what he felt. He wasn’t afraid to make the first move, to call her “baby” to tell her how much he wanted her. All the whole knowing he shouldn’t, knowing he was her coach and it wasn’t “right”.

Savanah is fierce!! She knows what she wants and goes after it. She was determined to get to the Olympics no matter what …and yet, when she found herself falling for her coach, who was once her arch-nemesis, she didn’t shy away from it. She leaned into it. Into him. Into his strength and solidness, and in the end, got everything she ever dreamed of and more.

I absolutely loved the parts where Logan opened up to her, with his mom, and the skating. And how she softened for him, and his touch even though she was never a “touchy feely” person. It was sweet.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SPOILERS<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I’m not a big fan of multiple partners, love triangles or threesomes. I prefer to focus on two characters and their journey towards love and one another. So for me, where this one lost me was the parts with Logan, Savanah and Max. I really didn’t like how she slept with Max, even though she kind of didn’t want to and was thinking about Logan the whole time. And then when they decided to do the threesome, I just wasn’t a fan. I felt bad for Max, and it sort of felt like she was ignoring his feelings.

But, if that’s for you, than you’ll really enjoy this one lol!!

The Fall is book 3 in the standalone series Tortured Hearts from author DC Kile. Each book is a different couple and can be read as a standalone. Book 3 belongs to Savannah DuPoint and Logan Sokolov.

This book took me a little bit to get invested into the characters but once I did it was smooth sailing and i absolutely gobbled this up.

When Savannah and her ice dancing partner, Max’s , long time coach retires Logan is hired to be her replacement. He doesn’t remember Savannah and the situation that crushed her Olympic dream and she’s worked hard to get it back. Problem is she can’t keep fighting the attraction and pull she has to him and what will Max think, she knows he has feelings for her even though she’s friend zoned him.

Logan Sokolov, newly retired to move with his mom to Colorado due to her health. At the brief meeting they had a couple years ago he didn’t remember her and the news he got at that time was what he was focused on. He is trying to start fresh after hearing about the situation and he feels drawn to her. But he’s her coach and then there’s the fact that Max might take offense. Pretty soon in and he realizes he can’t fight it anymore.

This book had the tension, drama, the forbidden aspect with a small age gap. I absolutely love DC Kile books as they not only pull you into the story but her characters all have these layers to uncover.

Another hit from DC Kile

I don’t really know how I felt about this. I kept going back and forth between 2 and 3 ⭐️. Honestly, Savannah was truly insufferable. Logan made the book. He was an absolute dream and I have no idea what him (and Max) saw in Savannah. I have a difficult time with black cat FMCs but if it’s done right, they can be really fun… Savannah was not it. She was so rude and bitchy. She often acted like she was 14.

I also wouldn’t consider this safe for my safety squad. Savannah and Max are skating partners who occasionally hook up. It’s their ritual to hook up before a competition bc you know, bad luck and all that. So of course she sleeps with him while she has feelings for Logan in the same hotel he is at…and he is aware. It’s fine tho guys bc she thought of him the whole time AND they have a threesome later in the book. I have no problem with reverse harem, but something about a man in a relationship who is okay with watching his woman with someone else just one time is strange to me. I don’t want to yuck someone else’s yum, but that doesn’t exactly scream “down bad” to me 🤷‍♀️.

So yeah. I LOVED the other two books in this series, but this one’s a no for me, dawg.

I read The Fall in just one day because I simply couldn’t put it down! D.C. Kile has such an incredible gift for storytelling—her writing is so detailed and vivid that I could clearly picture every character and setting as if I were right there in the middle of the story. The characterization is outstanding; each person feels fully real, layered, and unforgettable. She draws you in from the very first page and keeps you hooked until the end. D.C. Kile is, without a doubt, one of the best authors I’ve ever read, and The Fall proves it.

The tortured hearts series is unbelievably great. The characters are full of life and determination. The FMC in The Fall was written extremely well. Her story was relatable and I wanted to know what she would do next. Our MMC’s arrival was intriguing and had me wanting to keep reading. I loved the dynamic between the two MC’s. This book had an amazing plot line, lovable characters, a little bit of heartbreak, and an HEA that had me smiling from ear to ear. This series is truly one you don’t want to miss out on.

Phenomenal. I absolutely devoured this book and fell in love with yet another story written by D.C. Kile.

Logan and Savannah’s story was complex and so well done. There was heartbreak, drama, tension and so much love packed into this book.

This series has been 5 stars across the board for me. 10/10 recommend.

The Fall Book 3 in The Tortured Heart Series. Another great book by DC Kile. She just does forbidden romance sooo good!

Ice Skater & Coach. Savannah hated Logan. He ruined her chances for the Olympics. Logan had no idea. Then Logan becomes Savannah’s coach and they have to become a team. Slowly they become friendly. Slowly they become more.

Solid romance is definitely smutty ⛸️👯🏅

Savanah has been ice dancing essentially her whole life, with a goal of making it to the Olympics, but the dream was interrupted when she was skated into by a fellow couple, breaking her ankle and removing her from the competition. Flash forward a few years, and she is preparing for the Olympics again when her coach delivers the news that she is stepping down and the new coach, Logan, is the man responsible for crushing Savanah's dream. Logan comes in not knowing what happened, and Savanah absolutely hates him, but he is attracted to her. Logan takes over Tati's coaching position pretty seamlessly, jumping right into the training regimen Max and Sav are used to. However, it becomes clear to Logan that Max and Sav are more than just partners. On their first day off, they all go hiking together, which actually goes well, but Logan, who is quickly falling for Sav, learns that Max is in love with her, and although they are just sleeping together, he always hopes for more. On the way home, they stop at Logan's house, where they meet his mother and learn the real reason he retired from ice dancing. Training is going really well, and then they fly to New York for their first competition. Logan, however, comes back from a night of drinking to see Sav leaving Max's room after their pre-meet ritual. Sav helps a drunk Logan get into bed and definitely makes some insinuations about him. The next morning, everything seems fine, but things get a little heated with Logan and Sav; they don't do anything, but the topic is very much on the table. They get silver and return to Colorado, where Logan and Sav get closer and closer. Savanah goes to Logan's house for dinner, but Max couldn't join, so they definitely become a touch more intimate, and she is also staying late to skate with Logan, which in turn leads to their first kiss. After the first kiss, they move very fast, and he is essentially spending most nights with Savanah. They go on a date, which is surprisingly fun for Savanah and Logan. He tried to be a gentleman that night, but she had other plans. They finally get around to telling Max about their relationship right before their second competition. He is visibly upset but tries not to let it bother him. He starts running late for some practices, but when the meet rolls around, everything seems fine; he even proposes a 3-some, which goes surprisingly well. They win gold, but when they return to Colorado, Max decides he can't watch Sav and Logan be together, and he goes into immediate retirement. Logan decides the solution is for him to become Sav's partner and for Tati to coach them perfectly. Of course, there is a learning curve, but they hit it off immediately and make it to the national championship. From there, they get called to the Olympic team. Both their parents are giddy for them. Flash forward a few years, and they win gold, and they are also getting married.

I did really enjoy this book. I thought the storyline was really strong, and I liked the characters. However, the characters were flat, and there was not much development throughout the book. Max remained rooted in his ways, which is why he backed off, which I think was a shitty and selfish thing to do to Sav. Sav did forgive Logan, but she still remained so focused on skating and not much else. Logan was the only character that really developed, going from prioritizing his mom to finally living the life he wanted, but it still didn't feel like enough development. Overall, I did really enjoy the main characters, supporting characters, and the general storyline.

Savannah will do anything to obtain an Olympic gold medal and her unshakable partnership with her best friend Max should make that easy… until their longtime coach retires. Logan is a skating legend and Savannah and Max’s new coach. He’s also the person who Savannah vowed to never forgive. As Logan and Savannah push each other in their new dynamic, their chemistry grows. Soon Savannah finds she has to choose between her dream or the love she never expected.

THE FALL is the third book in the Tortured Heart series but each book is entirely independent stories and characters so they can be read in the order you wish. The commonality between each book in the Tortured Heart series is that they are each a forbidden romance in some form.

I haven’t read many ice dance/skating books, but I am quickly growing to love them. There’s something that’s so magical about this sport and the dedication athletes (of any sport) have for their craft that I just can’t get enough of. In THE FALL, Savannah is an ice dance/skater vying to obtain an Olympic gold medal, while Logan is an accomplished former skater/dancer turned coach who is trying to make a name for himself in this new role.

I enjoyed the dual POV narration, alternating between both of these characters’ POV. Their chemistry quickly sparks until it’s a burning fire, mixing in open door spicy scenes throughout the narrative. Sav and Logan’s relationship develops well, feeling like a natural progression. I especially enjoyed that there’s no third-act breakup for this couple.

I’ve read several of D.C. Kile’s books at this point, and I truly can’t get enough of her writing style. She hooks me into her settings and both of her main characters with such ease. She also writes great secondary characters who add depth to the narrative. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for whatever she will write next!

I would like to thank SunnyBabePR and the author of this advanced digital copy for the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for an honest review! All opinions expressed are my own.

I need more figure skating romances in my life because this was amazing!! The Fall follows Olympic figure skater hopeful Savannah as her worst nightmare happens- her coach is retiring and has hired the man she hates to take her place... Logan Sokolov. Logan has no clue why this woman hates him but he will definitely be finding out.

As with all of the D.C. Kile book I have read so far, I had a great time! This book had a mix of hatred, misunderstandings, tension, forbidden love, angst and chemistry with a dose of heartwarming family vibes and of course high stakes figure skating.

I absolutely loved that Logan was so open with his feelings for Savannah, I was swooning for this man!! Savannah was also such a powerhouse, so determined and willing to work hard for her goals it was great to see. This book does feature a love triangle and the drama!!! I was living for it!! I am not usually a fan of a love triangle but this was done so well. D.C. Kile has a writing style I am so easily sucked into and I could not get enough. I would definitely recommend picking this book up if you are looking for a book with any of the following tropes: coach x athlete, age gap (small), forbidden romance, sports romance, hate to love (not quite enemies to lovers).

The Fall by D.C. Kile follows the intense journey of figure skaters Savannah and Logan as they navigate their dreams of competing at the Olympics. After the sudden retirement of their beloved coach, they face the challenge of adapting to a new coach, who happens to be Logan, a former champion with a complicated past. The story delves into their evolving relationship, filled with romantic tension and personal growth, as they strive to balance their ambitions with their feelings for each other. It’s a captivating blend of love, rivalry, and the pursuit of greatness!

Savannah and Logan’s dynamic is electric! Their growth throughout the story is beautifully portrayed. The exploration of dreams, relationships, and personal struggles really resonated with me. It’s relatable and heartfelt. The chemistry between Savannah and Logan is palpable! Their journey from tension to tenderness kept me turning the pages. The book tackles themes of ambition and vulnerability, making it not just a love story but a personal journey.

If you’re looking for a captivating read that blends romance with real-life challenges, The Fall is a must-read!

Sav and Logan make me giggle like a little girl — I love them. The tension, the banter, the slow build of their connection… it’s magnetic. Every look, every word, every little moment between them had me absolutely hooked. The chemistry is unreal and I genuinely could read several more books about them and never get tired of it.

MAX IS A LIL BITCH 🗣️ a prime example of men’s friendships with women being transactional 🙄 and I stand by that wholeheartedly. Meanwhile, Logan is the man he thinks he is — king behaviour from start to finish. He had me swooning and laughing.

This series continues to deliver every single time. The Fall perfectly balances spice, emotion, and humour without ever feeling too heavy. I’ve loved every single book in The Tortured Hearts series so far, and if it went on for years to come, I’d be the happiest girly ever. D.C. Kile knows exactly how to create characters that feel alive, relationships that leap off the page, and moments that make you kick your feet and giggle.

If you love a hatred-to-heart-eyes, coach and athlete, forbidden romance with enough tension to power a small city — this one’s for you.

📚Book 3 (Standalone):Tortured Hearts series

Tropes
⛸ Forbidden Romance

⛸ Sports Romance

⛸ Black cat vs Golden Retriever

The book follows Savannah and Logan. Savannah’s dream is to compete in the Olympic. She had a shot before but she got injured. This time she is going to make it the only problem is the man she absolutely hates is going to be her coach. Logan is two time Olympic gold medalists. He retired suddenly and unexpectedly from ice skating. He is now coaching and loves it. The only problem is one of his students hate him and she has a very reason to.

This was such a fun read and no 3rd act break ups. I really enjoyed reading this and D.C Kile’s writing is so good. This is the 3rd book in The Tortured heart series. I love how all the books have different tropes and completely different stories. They are not interconnected so it can be read in any order.

I enjoyed the story line, the atmosphere and the romance plot. There is smut but it didn’t take away from the story. Logan and Savannah is a cute couple with big dreams and lots of chemistry. I can’t wait to read more of author D.C. Kile’s work

Savannah DuPont is a professional pairs ice skater with dreams of going to the Olympics. Her and her partner Max had almost achieved the dream of qualifying for the Olympic team when she got injured. With her dreams almost taken away she’s been holding a grudge against Logan Sokolov for causing her to fall.

Savannah and Max are back training for Olympic qualifiers again when her coach unexpectedly tells them she’s going to retire. Starting with a new coach this close to the Olympic qualifiers could be a disaster. But things really fall apart when none other than Logan Sokolov is announced as the new coach. Savannah is furious and determined to make his job as difficult as she can.

Max becomes fast friends with Logan forcing Savannah to spend more time with Logan. The more she gets to know him the more she realizes he isn’t who she thought he was.

She shouldn’t be but she can’t help but be attracted to her coach. But not only is a relationship with her coach forbidden it could cause tension between her and her skating partner Max. She doesn’t want to miss her chance to qualify for the Olympics but sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants even if you aren’t ready for the fall.

This is the third book in The Tortured Hearts series by D.C. Kile. I have absolutely loved this series of forbidden romances.

I really enjoyed these characters. Savannah and Logan were really good for each other. Savannah was a bit awkward and cold after spending so much of her life focused only on skating. I loved seeing how Logan was able to help bring her out of her shell and encourage her to start living her life. He was so supportive of her and really helped her to see her worth is more than just skating. Logan was honestly such a sweetheart. He was supportive and kind, dominating and strong, and a total dream.

Thank you D.C. Kile and Sunny Babe PR for the opportunity to receive an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review 🤍

The Fall By D.C Kile ARC Review

Savannah, was a wonderful female main character I enjoyed getting to know her character and reading more and diving straight in to character. I think she was a wonderful character who tried her hardest to be herself and I loved that she tried her hardest to achieve her talents and dreams.

Logan, was a man with a strong opinion and I loved his character and personality because of his strong opinions and the way he was always putting others feelings before his. I think the love between him and Savannah, was a perfect image of what enemies to lovers would look like in real life.

I adored getting to know these characters and this series I felt like this relationship was really spicy and so much fun to read about. I saw the chemistry and how strong the relationship was and how they faced challenges as they became a couple.

I thought this was a wonderful read and I would reread this again because of the way it connected and how the energy flowed proved to me they could survive the challenges they faced in their relationship and how their opinions connected well together.

Savannah DuPoint lives for the ice, chasing Olympic gold with all her heart. Her partnership with Max has always been solid, until their coach retires and Logan Sokolov enters the picture the one person she vowed never to forgive.
Logan is all charm and redemption, Savannah is stubborn and passionate, and the chemistry between them is fiery. Max finally steps up, adding even more tension and emotion to the mix. Every page had my heart racing, from the intense, forbidden attraction to the choices that could change everything.
The ice skating backdrop makes the story so unique and magical, with every scene gliding perfectly between swoon-worthy romance and emotional depth. I was completely immersed, feeling every heartbeat, every heated glance, and every tender moment.
The Fall is the perfect mix of angst, love, and dedication a total binge-worthy read.

Thank you so much for this ARC Sunny Babe PR and D.C Kile.
This is book 3 from “tortured hearts series” and I loved it.
Savannah is an ice dancer and she’s got a goal: the Olympics. When her coach tells her she’ll retire, she cannot believe it, but her coach’s already hired someone: Logan Sokolov, the dancer who made her broke her ankle a few years ago.
Savannah hates him, but she accepts he’s good at coaching and after a few weeks she realises he actually can make them (Sav and her partner) go to the Olympics.
As Longan and Savannah spend more time together, Savannah’s wall fall apart and they click. Unexpectedly, they fall in love and they are forced to tell the team about it so everything goes the right and professional way.
But when Savannah’s partner, Max, quits, Longan steps up, and supports her to achieve her dream.
I love Kile writing, the way Savannah hand Logan relationship is built is so natural; also, the way they face their problems is so mature and real.

Thank you to @sunnybabepr and the author for the copy of this book.

I have been a big fan of D.C. Kile over the last year and was super excited to get to read this one. The spice was spicyyyy and Logan Sokolov is a great book boyfriend. I will say for most of the book it felt more like lust than love but then about 75% through the love felt so real, and the ending was so sweet. I adored reading about Logan and Savannah and was super satisfied with how everything wrapped up.

The forbidden romances continue with another great one by DC!

Tropes:
⛸️ Coach x Student
⛸️ Secret Romance
⛸️ Hate to Love You
⛸️ He Falls First
⛸️ Black Cat x Golden Retriever

Savannah has one goal: get to the Olympics. She’s completely thrown off guard when Logan, the man she hates, is named her new coach. Her walls slowly start to come down as she gets to know him, why he retired so early, and how they naturally connect when they skate together.

This story held me captive the whole time. Savannah has a friends with benefits relationship with her skating partner, and that added a lot of fantastic tension and longing when it came to Logan. I really enjoyed Logan’s character, and how much of a good guy he is. When he gets her to agree to go on a date with him… I loved it. These two had a great story.

I really enjoyed this series, the other 2 books I really enjoyed this one I’m a little less enthusiastic about. I loved the MMC Logan is just the perfect golden retriever book boyfriend and so lovely. Savannah I really struggled to like. She came across as extremely self absorbed and self centred. She got better towards the end but initially I couldn’t stand her tbh. Also I found the threesome scene to be slightly odd - first off it felt Logan was forced into because savannah wanted to do it but yet the whole she said she imagined it was Logan and wondered when it would be his turn again? Felt weird. Also felt wrong that she wanted to do it knowing that max had feelings for her that she didn’t return. I just didn’t like that part it felt odd. Otherwise it was another good book and I will be reading more from this author.

I have enjoyed each book in this series. Book 3 was no exception!
Absolutely a standalone. Can read without reading books 1&2.

I had been reading a book that was so unnecessarily angsty and it was not doing it for me. I switched to this book and was so happy I did! It pulled me right out of my funk and I devoured this story. The perfect amount of hate before it turned to love.
Low stakes, high heat, and a quick pace.

The plot was great, the spice was hot. And I was pleasantly surprised at certain points.
Was NOT expecting that hotel scene. Dang! 🥵
While I did predict the conflict, I was not expecting it to pan out the way it did. Again, pleasantly surprised! DC Kile does a great job of keeping me on my toes, and engaged, while also keeping my blood pressure low. I can always count on her books to bring me out of a funk!

Love this series! And the Underwood Farm series too!

The Fall is the third book in the Tortured Hearts series by D.C. Kile. On paper this book has everything that I love in a book. Forbidden love, enemies to lovers, golden retriever mmc x black cat fmc, yes please. But this book didn’t work for me, and I think that has to do with the characters of Savannah and Logan. I had difficulty connecting with them. Savannah to me seemed immature and selfish, and Logan wasn’t well developed as a character. Even though that had good chemistry, and the spice was well written, I couldn’t fully enjoy it because I felt bad for Max (who was treated horribly and needs his own story). Thanks Sunny Babe Pr for giving me an opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a must-read! D.C. Kile has done it again in the Tortured Heart series! This one is number 3, in the standalones and just as delicious as the rest!

Rating; ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice; 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Savannah is a determined ice dancer. Logan is quite secretive. And now the world has thrown these unknown enemies into the best forced proximity…. Coach and Athlete.

This tension between these two is a to-die-for need for any fan of an enemies-to-lovers trope! The snappy remakes from Savannah to the hidden instant lust from Logan in internal monologue and hate. Could any romance reader ask for more? Trust me, D.C. Kile provides so much more!

If you wanna know about it, you’ll just have to order and read!

The Fall is book 3 in the Tortured Hearts series, but can be read as a standalone.

⛸️Forbidden love
💕enemies to lovers
⛸️Sports romance
💕Coach x athlete
⛸️Golden retriever x black cat
💕Dual POV

Savannah and her ice dancing partner Max are training for the Olympics, when they receive a new coach and more than just professional turmoil. I loved seeing Sav’s growth, her confidence in her career, and the interpersonal relationships throughout the book. There was tons of tension and buildup throughout the book

This is a fun love triangle with lots of delicious smexual tension. Savannah has dreams of winning a gold medal at the Olympics. Max is her skating partner. And when their coach retires, Logan takes the job. Savannah can't stand Logan so there is definitely an enemies to lovers relationship, but they can't fight their growing attraction to each other. The only problem is, Max is also attracted to Savannah. So how will this all work out? I really love the enemies to lovers trope. I'm also down with a good love triangle too so I absolutely enjoyed this book.

📕BOOK REVIEW📕

This is book 3 in the series, and it can be read as standalone.

Figure skater Savannah had her chances ruined at being an Olympian after a fall caused by competitor, Logan. Three years later, he shows up at the rink as her new coach. Her current partner, Max wants more from Savannah, but Logan is starting to consume her mind and she’s left with a choice to make.

Ooooo I wasn’t expecting to be so bloody hot under the collar with these two (and three 😉). Logan really wasn’t as bad he’s made out to be in the beginning, I actually felt incredibly sad for his situation. Savannah was dedicated to figure skating, so you understood her feelings towards Logan. However, I really did love how she embraced him and was there for him when he needed her to be.

Savannah and Logan were absolutely delicious together. Goodness me. I loved how she despised him, and the first scene in her bedroom was honestly feral.

I’ve enjoyed the other two books in the series, and this one did not disappoint.

I loved this. I started it and couldn’t put it down. It’s a great enemies to lovers, giggle kick of a book. I needed this book to help get me out of a slump and by golly it did just that! Logan and Savannah are so good! I love the sass and the ultimate understanding and the spice 🔥🥵
