She was the best wrangler he’d ever seen. But that wasn’t what drew Deputy Sheriff Zach McBride to the tempting newcomer. She had an air of mystery -and a touching vulnerability- that he found irresistible. He knew she was hiding something, but what? No matter what, he vowed to protect Lori James and her son -if only she let him.
A lovely story of a woman relearning how to trust others, especially men, after a traumatic past. Lori and Zack were enjoyable to read, and their budding romance was captivating to see unfold. The author did a great job of showing how Lori's PTSD got triggered and affected her way of living; though her extreme stubbornness of letting anyone help her got a bit tiresome towards the later half when the other characters had already proven their trustworthiness to her. I liked that the outside characters and settings didn't take away from the main focus. Overall, an enjoyable read to pass the time with.
