brother's best friend, curvy girl, retired military, romantic suspense, friends to lovers

I’ve been forced to stomach a a messy divorce, a helicopter crash that I shouldn’t have walked away from, and losing friends and a former fiancée in combat. But one thing that I can’t stand is watching my best friend’s sister, Abigail, being treated poorly by her husband. This girl is intelligent, sensitive, and drop-dead gorgeous but has no idea because of the abuse she’s endured.
Now, her ex-husband wants her back, but I doubt it’s for love.
The challenge is to set aside my fears and prove to her that we belong together, making it my toughest mission yet.

My world shattered first, when my parents died in a car crash, and again, when I found my husband with his secretary in our bed. I coped by pouring myself into my teaching job, my boys, and my dual playing the violin and mastering new languages.
My new problem is that my ex-husband has gone from indifferent to obsessive about winning me back. There is absolutely no way that I will ever go back to him—I’ve given up dating and men completely.
Now, convincing my head and heart that dating my long-time crush is a bad idea, all while keeping my unique language-learning skill under wraps, is the key to success.
The problem is, if I reveal my feelings for Gage and he discovers I'm not as amazing as he thinks, I'll be crushed.

I am a native Michigander, meaning I have a favorite Great Lake and can point to the exact location of my house on my hand. For the record, Lake Superior owns my heart with all of its majesty and mystery. Camping with my family on its shores is the highlight of my Summer every year.

I love all things caramel, coffee, hockey, shopping, baking, and decorating my house for every season and holiday. I am a very visual-spatial person so everything in my house has a place, but sometimes looks better in a different place. (It drives my husband nuts.) Speaking of my amazingly-talented husband, we live in the house that he built for us, with our three human children, and fuzzy child, Gordie.

If I’m not holed up on my couch attacking the keyboard, you can find me teaching high school English Language Arts and Choir and driving my children everywhere. Seeing as how all three of them are in sports, and hockey season never ends, we are always on the go.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.
