Bloodlines can be like chains, unless you have the power to break them…
Free spirited Princess Lianna wants nothing more than a life among her people, free to enjoy nature and spend time with her sister, but has instead spent her life under her mother’s cruel scrutiny. When an arranged marriage threatens to steal what little freedom she has left, a long-buried power ignites within her – one she cannot control. Backed into a corner, a single fiery moment destroys everything and changes her world as she knows it.
Now a fugitive, Lianna flees across treacherous seas, seeking refuge in distant lands, while those seeking justice for her actions hunt her down. Shipwrecked and pursued, she finds unlikely allies in angels, gods, and beings of legend, each guiding her toward a fate she never imagined for a princess.
The fire within her is awakened. And the Seilie kingdom will never be the same. •••••••••••••••••••
*Lianna and her Scottish family are written with accents, just something to be aware of*
I went into this book not knowing it was a prequel to an existing series. There is action throughout and a ton of backstory and world building. It's a great mix of fantasy and Celtic mythology. We follow Lianna through a treacherous journey which has a "fellowship of the ring" feel to it. Finishing the book only to realize her real adventure is yet to unfold and the next book is already released and loved was the perfect ending.
I was lucky enough to arc read this book and have already ordered a physical copy.
Seren’s way with words brings you into a beautiful and magical world filled with fae, angels and gods. Lianna, the FL has the cutest accent and a carefree spirit. She brings you on a journey to freedom meeting many loveable characters along the way. A must read if you love a good fantasy book.
Welcome to Lianna's story. I had no idea this was a prequel, and honestly pretty excited to have another book we're we delve in to Rhos Du. In Royal Ties you meet an amazing young woman who has to stand against her family with only her older sisters support. Wonderful read and I can't wait for Lost Treasure!
I recieved this book in a book box from the indecent book club, and wow, what a great choice! Just finished reading and immediately downloaded the next book. If you love stories with fae, mythical creatures, magic, Scottish legends and adventures, then definitely add this to your tbr!
I loved the sisterly bond between Orla and Lianna, Orla does her absolute best to ensure Lianna's safety when her mother attempts to marry her off to some awful men. After a shocking revelation and some uncontrolled powers, everything goes wrong, and Lianna is forced to flee from her home and family. She makes lots of friends along the way, but her journey onwards takes her from them until she finally arrives at somewhere she can call home and recieve some help to control her powers.
I absolutely loved this story of Lianna and how she came to reside at Rhos Du. This story takes place before the events of Lost Treasure. I laughed, got teary-eyed, and was hooked throughout. Lianna, the 2nd princess of western Seilie throne, is to be married off in order to maintain alliances by the Queen. While Lianna experiences the lack of warmth or caring from her mother, her sister Orla is there for her and her one true companion. An unexpected turn off events, at almost being kidnapped, turns Lianna's life upside down. Now, on the run, Lianna must seek safety where she can and learn to trust her instincts before those seeking vengeance catch up with her.
Loved getting Lianna’s backstory and following her journey to Rhos Du. This is a prequel to Lost Treasure. Seren has a way with her story telling that just hooks you in. Follow Lianna through her trials and meet the friends she makes along the way. This is filled with twists on mythology and culture and I loved reading it. You’ve got fae, angels, gods, a werewolf and a dragon and so much more. There’s something in this story for everyone. There is some Scottish and Welsh dialect in parts of the book but it doesn’t take anything away and fits with the historical aspects. Overall I really enjoyed every second of Lianna’s journey and you should definitely give it a read.
Wow... What a prequal! If you've read Lost Treasure, then you already know how amazing Lianna is. Her background story, as told in Royal Ties, is epic. I love her character even more now. The family secrets are shocking and what she goes through to make her way to Wales will have you cheering her on till the end. This story is well-written with well-developed characters that will have you feeling every emotion. This book was worth the wait. It's a true page-turner and I can't wait for more.
Absolutely loved this book it was such a good insight in to the characters life before lost treasure I loved all the history, Lore and the paths she took and the people she met to get to where she was going. Would highly recommend reading this series x
A Prequel novel to Lost Treasure that will have you falling in love with Lianna (the FMC) and the other characters in such a way that reading not reading the series just isn't an option.
This prequel sets the stage for Lost Treasure and gives you all the painfully beautiful details of the FMC's history, family and journey to where her true adventure awaits.
Beautiful world building, wonderful characters and a story that will break your heart and rebuild it all at the same time.
I really enjoyed reading this book and how it was told in this universe. The characters had that element that I was looking for and was invested in what was going on. Seren Tywyll has a strong writing style and thought everything worked together to the storyline.
I received a free copy of this book for review and am voluntarily leaving a review
