I enjoyed the continuation of Milo and Liam’s story. I like the growth in both of them and was so proud of Liam for standing up to his dad and choosing his own path. I was provided an advanced copy of this book which has not affected my review.
So cute! I had to go back and read the previous volumes to have some context but I love Milo and Liam! This was way longer than I was expecting, I didn’t look at the page count at first but then the story just kept going every time I thought it was going to end and I was so happy. Perfect length and no cliffhangers! One small issue, though. If the owner of the vacation house lived next door, why didn't they ask her for food instead of starving for two days bc they had no food in the house? Anyway! The story portrays some very real issues that we all encounter in life and they’re resolved in a very satisfactory way. I liked the side characters as well. Both of them have complicated relationships with their families but in a way that feels very realistic and not overdramatic at all. Fear is a powerful thing and it can condition our whole lives. I loved the way Liam felt with his fear in particular. And their relationship is so sweet and respectful. They treat each other very well and it’s so nice 🫶
Thanks to NetGalley and First Second for an advanced copy of Tripping Over You Book 2 by Suzana Harcum and Owena White to review! I read the first volume of this last fall, so I was excited to get to see what Milo and Liam were up to in this volume. It’s fun to get to see how they grow together from high school to college.
This is a completed webcomic, which is definitely a trend I’ve been seeing in YA graphic novels. I like that these are showing a progression of life for Milo and Liam; it’s kind of nice to get to see what they’ve been up to since high school. Teens might also be drawn to that, especially teens who struggle with what the future might look like.
The art style is cute; I think it fits the story well. It did take me a minute to remember what happened in the previous volume, but it didn’t take me too much out of the story. It’s on the longer side for a graphic novel; however, the story moves at a fast enough pace that it doesn’t feel too long.
Milo and Liam are the stars of the story, so we get the most character development from them. We also get some new side characters, and we get to see some from the previous book. If you like contemporary romance graphic novels, this one is definitely cute! --- Review to come!
TROPES/THEMES ➝ Friends to lovers ➝ Secret relationship ➝ New beginnings ➝ New friendships
RATINGS ➝ Characters: 5/5 ➝ Plot: 3/5 ➝ Dialogue: 4/5 ➝ Pacing: 3/5 ➝ Do I recommend: YES
Just like in Volume One my favorite part was the characters. The Characters in the second volume in my opinion were more fleshed out. Milo and Liam were written more realistically with the changes of graduating from high school and moving on to the next stage of their life. I loved how we got to see more of Milo’s perspective and what he thought of Liam being “ashamed” and “hiding” their relationship from Liam’s dad. I enjoyed seeing bits of both of their families and how it’s still connected to the plot and moving it on.
Regarding the plot just like in Volume one, there wasn’t a plot but more slice of life which I enjoyed but would’ve liked something more. The dialogue seemed kinda stilted but I liked how it fit the characters. Just like in Volume One the pacing was kinda off. The scenes jumped around a few times without the scene feeling like it was finished. Overall I do recommend the second volume. I loved how Milo and Liam’s relationship evolved and how they grew as people figuring out their lives. I loved seeing both new and old characters from the first volume show up. I’m looking forward to Volume three.
Tripping Over You is a fine enough book, but I wish they would stop comparing it to HeartStopper. Yes, it is a story of two boys in love, but beyond that it is a different story. By book two, both the young men are in university, and trying to move in together, somewhere, anywhere.
Most of the story is just that, them trying to find a place of their own. There are, of course, pitfalls along the way, as there would be.
It is a sweet enough story. The young men are in love, and Liam finally comes out to his father, and tells him he doesn’t want to study law anymore, just as they both find out that Liam’s cousin has been beaten up, and is in hospital.
And Milo is struggling to find his “voice” in both theatre as well as a small film production.
If you have read the first book, you will want to read the second one, to be sure, to see where the two end up.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review. This book is coming out the 24th of February 2026.
A cute little graphic novel romcom featuring Milo and Liam. I haven't had the chance to read the first book of their meeting at boarding school, in what I gathered was an enemies-to-lovers story. The story was pretty easy to follow, even jumping in late to the story.
Milo and Liam are a young gay couple settling into their new relationship. At the beginning of this book, the guys live separately but spend as much of their free time together as possible. Liam has not come out to his father, whereas Milo's family knows and supports the relationship. Milo struggles a little with divorced parents and a blended family.
I feel like this would be a good story for fans of Heartbreaker. It felt like there were similar vibes.
Thank you to NetGalley for sending a free copy for my unbiased review.
I really loved this. It was an excellent continuation of the story from the first volume, and I like that both Milo and Liam had to work out some issues in order to be able to be happy together. I really enjoyed the process and seeing them relate to their friends and family. I also really liked the way they handled moving in together and becoming more settled in their relationship.
The art was super cute, the color palette continued to be excellent and really fit the mood of the story, and the character's faces and body language were expressive and animated. They all had great personality which made the story much more engaging.
It was just such a joy to read, after getting to know the characters in the first volume, to really get to know them.
*Thanks to First Second for providing an early copy for review.
Thanks NetGalley and First Second Books for the digital ARC for review.
This was a solid second volume. We see the characters out of school and trying to make a life for themselves. We see them make changes that better suit their interests rather than that of their parents. Their relationship isn't perfect, but they work on it together.
While I did overall enjoy this series so far, I just feel like something is missing. It feels more like a couple of one-shots put together into a novel. I think it would work better if read with that in mind. I'm not super attached to any of the characters and I think the plot is a little to simple for me.
If you are looking for a fluffy YA graphic novel with a tiny bit of against and struggle from the main characters, this would be for you.
This volume was truly stellar! There's a substantial amount of individual and relationship growth and it's so satisfying to see them evolve. I could read about Liam and Milo's daily lives endlessly. Their dynamic warms my heart and them maturing together is only helping strengthen their bond. The vulnerability on display, as their insecurities come out, along with their continuously improving communication shows how far they've come. They're so settled in their relationship now and it's sweet to see. I adore them very much!
The art design and color palette continue be engaging and always suit the tone of each scene.
Cannot wait for the next volume!

This was a very cute continuation of Milo and Liam's story. They've graduated from high school so now we see them tackling adulting while navigating their new relationship. I loved how we got more depth from both of these characters, and it was quite funny at time. Seeing Liam grapple with his sexuality and how to come out to his family, while Milo was grappling with his plans for his future and his struggles in the acting realm gave them both their own backstory separate from one another, but gave room for them to support one another. They had some really mature conversations with one another, but were still young adult boys.
The RayView:✨✨✨✨✨ The HeatRay:🔥 How It Be Spicin’?: . What a volume! There’s so much in here to unpack. Liam taking that step to speak with his father honestly about his life and how law school just isn’t for him. The stress of trying to make a relationship work with so much going on then adding the stress of moving on top of it. Merging two lives together into one household. Just. Everything about this volume was so real and made me reminisce on my early college days when I was going through similar things. I absolutely loved this volume and can’t wait for more.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Milo and Liam have left high school behind and entered the world of adulting. They struggle to find time to be together as university and work keeps them busy, but live finds a way over and over again. This is one of the sweetest rom-com graphic novels I have read in some time. I really like this couple and look forward to more of the story of their life together. As always, the story is good, runs at a good pace, and is very enjoyable. The artwork is amazing. Highly recommended. Expected publishing date is Feb. 24, 2026
Thanks to @netgalley and First Second Books for the opportunity to read this eArc in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion
This volume started out a little slow for me and had me wondering if maybe the story was extending beyond its natural end. However, it really renewed after the first third for me. Our main couple is still very cute together, and I enjoyed how they are both still being their own individual selves throughout. I liked that some of the side characters who had gone away for a bit made a return in this second volume, although I felt we got a lot less of Liam's cousin than I expected. Overall I still enjoyed the series, I'm planning to continue reading the volumes as they release.
Just like the first one I was expecting more but what I am not sure. The story felt more like slice of life then anything else. I liked Milo and Liam moving forward in their relationship and Liam finally talking to his father and Milo's family lol But the rest just felt like we were jumping from one thing to the next. Not sure if the series is for me at this point but at the same time want to know where we are going to go from here.
I read the first book and glad there was a 2nd book, but the 2nd book seemed kind of dull. I hate to give spoilers, but when in a relationship usually people are excited to tell others the are happily together with someone. It seemed as if the character was not happy to be in a relationship. Everything works out in the end.
I needed this sequel like I needed air. I loved how the story was hopeful and relatable. The new adult genre is often lacking relatable characters and this held up. I was rooting for our boys and hoping they could figure it out despite adulting coming to get them.
This is the continuation of the story of Liam and Milo and is the second volume out of a 3 volume series.
The story progresses nicely in this volume as we see the boys beginning their lives together along with the expectations of family and fighting being pulled in separate directions. They are more independent and figuring out how to live together. It’s a great storyline along with beautiful graphics. I can’t wait to see how the series ends!
I highly recommend this series, you won’t be disappointed!
