Amber DeLea is arguably one of the most powerful and feared witches in all of the “Other” side of Europe. She’s beautiful, dangerous, intelligent, and very, very alone. But she doesn’t need anybody! She’s a self-made Coven Mother, one of the greatest rune-casters the Other has seen in generations, and the witch everyone calls when they NEED it done right the first time. It’s good to be the queen!
Life in the coven is always busy. From putting out fires (both literal and figurative), engaging with other member races of Other society, and showing she is one bad witch who’s not to be trifled with, Amber’s got her hands full to be sure. She takes it all in stride though, a model of female strength and rock-solid willpower that has earned the respect of the races throughout the Other. For the past six months, Amber has been working on a potion to extend the “human side” of the Other’s (vampires, werewolves, witches, etc.) time available before needing to port over to the Common for a recharge. This research has tremendous possibilities associated with it, including possibly beginning to ease the tensions between the Creature and Human sides of Other society. Like all research, however, the time for slow tinkering has come to an end and the time for full focus has begun. Amber DeLea knows she can’t balance this and her duties as Coven Mother at all, so she’s applied for a temporary Coven Mother substitute with the Witch’s Council.
After another surprise visit from The Crone (a woman who had a very involved hand in raising her but whose position now dictates a different kind of interpersonal relationship with Amber), it is revealed that someone/s may be targeting Amber while she’s focusing on her research. To that end, the griffins have been tapped to provide extra security for Amber through this dangerous time, despite the Crone knowing full well how Amber feels about griffons, especially after one had carried out a contract on Jake, the man she’d loved secretly for years (see “Glimmer of Death”).
Bastion is one of, if not the, deadliest assassins in the world and has been hanging around Amber’s periphery for quite some time. But now, he’s been tasked with keeping her alive through this threat to her life. Bastion, who’d been the assassin who completed the contract against Jake. And now Amber needs to remove the black curse on Bastion before he’ll officially start keeping her from an early grave. That’s going to foil her plan to watch him die slowly from the curse without getting her hands dirty… damn. No way that’ll happen! Never!
But to deny the Other’s “human side” this opportunity? To deny the DeLea name a chance at eternal glory? To skyrocket her chances for a spot on the council that she so dearly wants? Guess it’s time to undo a curse…

Amber is my favorite of all of this authors characters. She is such a grumpy sunshine that hides her good intentions behind the folds of her skirts. In this series, Amber's life has been threatened, and because of that, she now has a griffin bodyguard. Not just any griffin, the one she blames for all of her lifes misery. But this griffin refuses to allow the threatners to succeed in their attempts on Amber's life. As the stakes increase and traitors are around every corner, can she trust the one she refuses to with her safety and perhaps learn more about her past in the process? You will not regret picking up Amber DeLea!

While I should be upset at Heather for making me forget to pee or eat or drink or anything once I start a book of hers, I salivate over every single one. They are so compelling and immersive, I'm lost to the world. I couldn't wait to delve into Amber's story fully. It's no secret she has a special place in my heart, I feel so much sympathy for her I literally yelled out "you do have a friend, ME!" because that's a commodity Amber is lacking. And the real Amber is so far removed from her outer shell. She's a very complex person, she's been through the mill and back and come out, slowly retreating into her shell, locking her heart and feelings tightly. She keeps her emotions close to her chest but thanks to Heather's brilliance, she pries Amber's fingers open exposing her heart, her emotions and her pain. She is, without doubt, a beautifully complex character, a character who gives all of herself to those she loves.
The growth in Amber's ability to show her true self is a wonder to see, we see it more prominently with Oscar, the sweetest "father" one could have, we see it in her exchange with Benji, a golim stuck under the control of the council, who BTW, I would join forces with Amber to free him, he tugged at my heart so violently, I placed it in his hand. Once again, the beauty of the story leaps off the pages, Heather has a skill in cross referencing events from previous series without it feeling as though something is missing. It all just fits like a puzzle. And there was a reference to Shakespeare that was pure genius, I mean, it IS possible he was Other...
I have loved every single book Heather G Harris has written, I have followed her characters like an addict, needing my "fix" time and time again, getting high on the storytelling. I adore the vulnerability in Amber, her overwhelming caring, which she so conceals to perfection by her very abrasive and almost unapproachable attitude. To see how the author has peeled layer upon layer, revealing the soft centre in a very accomplished manner, made my centre all soft and squishy! Just like a lichee, once you've peeled off the shell, the fruit is soft and sweet with a hard pip, much like Amber, the hard pip is her determination and resolve. I love Amber's protectiveness of her Coven, her compassion is just beautiful. The whole Bastian and Amber "thing" is so beautiful, so touching, I didn't think it was possible to love him more but I do! I love the idea of a hardened killing machine getting all gaga over Amber, I loved the not so subtle hints he kept dropping, I loved how he confused Amber, oh heavens help me, he made my heart swell with love for him! There were plenty of red herrings, the author a master at weaving a very tightly woven tapestry, exposing a piece of art, loved it. And good grief, the emotions! My emotions were off the charts at various points! A few really sob worthy moments! Some I was breathing so heavily, as though I'd just run a marathon! But likewise, lots of heart warming ones too! And some really really humourous moments, a few scenes that had me grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Oh lordie, I adore Bastian! I know , I know, I've already mentioned it, but good golly is he a magnificent character! So much heart, so much....everything! I Love how he sticks up for Amber, even though he's been hired to protect her, there is more underneath, way more. Strong, deadly, stoic Bastian performed certain deeds and actions that had my jaw touching the floor! Don't get me wrong, I always "felt" the real Bastian was hiding behind a well crafted facade but he nearly undid me with how gentle and caring he is to Amber. There are few characters in all the books I've read who come close to what I feel for Bastian and Amber, they leave my insides all gooey and squishy and immersed with a tenderness I relish. Heather has taken already immensely likeable characters and infused a special elixir to give them a whole new look, a whole lot more oomph, getting right to the core of them.
This was such an exciting read, my goodness, the way the author builds the tension and the mystery, I could almost feel my eyes wanting to pop out of my head! The pace and action just superb! The innuendos, the twists, the plot, the storytelling and OMG, the characters are second to none! It all crawls over me, through me, in me, embracing ever sense in me. Did I mention the characters who are unique, superb, inspiring? Well... I clearly adore Bastian and Amber BUT my goodness is Benji another heart warmer! So innocent, so loveable, so irrelevantly treated by the Council, but he's "real", he feels, he's just the sweetest, stunning stunning character! IT'S DAZZLINGLY SPLENDID!!!!!
This series was so ultra exciting, as it progresses, Amber's heart opens fully at certain times, exposing the rawness of her emotions, which had me an emotional basketcase! So to wrap up this rather lengthy review, if you want fun, if you want real honestly described characters, if you want a fast paced book with mystery, drama, humourous banter, a maybe romance brewing, a familiar or two, an awesome plot and a witch like none other, look no further than this stupendous series!

excellent characters and storytelling, a fast paced favorite for me

This is the way I’m reading my series when at all possible, omnibus or boxed sets. Binge reading right through every single book to the end. Fabulous.
With the exception of Lucy, the Other Wolf, who I’ll never ever buy as a convincing or plausible character, I’ve loved every single other series in the Other World universe that Heather G. Harris is still creating.
Witch Amber DeLea has consistently been a powerful if secondary character in all the other series, a solitary character with a serious grudge against the griffin assassin, Bastion, who features strongly in most of the other characters series and magical paths towards power and romance.
Harris has let fall hints and bits of knowledge of each of these characters history, individually and what has made them such enemies, in previous stories, but here the devastating backstory is finally revealed.
I’m the first to admit I was finding Amber’s continual struggle with Bastion exhausting, especially as Harris’ empathetic scenes are able to show exactly what has been the real result of the events as well. The reader, if not Amber, is able to see both sides of the story.
This excellent storytelling continues throughout the series, the balance between the characters, the personalities and perspectives. Even when the drama and suspense is extraordinary and the thrills are completely out of control, the thoughtful plotting is right there with the magical moments and characters.
There are elements that stem from the last moments of The Other Wolf series that have enormous impact on the events here. But I have tried twice, in 2 different ways to get through that series to no avail.
So they remain cobbled together in my mind from various conversations said in the other series and that is more than enough.
I ended up loving Amber DeLea, the long journey she takes from a self contained existence to one that starts embracing her small group of friends and relationships. The character development and world growth of the series is amazing.
And Harris has yet another addition planned, The Other Detective, which has its beginning here.
I’m loving this. And highly recommending it. Binge it all the way in the box set!

I wish I could read them again for the first time!
Book 1
This book is truly exceptional. The engaging narrative kept me up reading, and I found it impossible to put down. The author's storytelling is beautifully crafted, and the world she has created is unparalleled.
Book 2
This second installment in the series is exemplary. The character development is delightful, offering insightful glimpses into Amber's backstory. The mystery and mayhem woven throughout the narrative are captivating.
Book 3
This book is an absolute masterpiece. I was completely enthralled, unable to stop reading. The relentless action and suspense are a testament to the author's skill as a wordsmith.
Book 4
This book is expertly written, with fantastic world-building. Amber's story is incredible, entertaining, and akin to a non-stop rollercoaster ride. The intricate relationships and character complexities are beautifully crafted.

I can't get enough of Amber and Bastion, and I devoured these books in two days.
I first met them through the eyes of different characters in The Other Realm Universe, and I instantly wanted more - she's a super skilled witch and he's a deadly assassin. They both do a ton of awesome stuff before their books even start. Plus their chemistry was 🔥
These books are full of action, heart, and they have a way of pulling you in. Try putting this series down to do the dishes or go to bed...good luck because I didn't have the willpower to stop reading til the end.
The Other Witch series is part of a wider book universe, and they are all excellent.

I love all of the books set in the Other world, and I was so glad that Amber has her turn in the spotlight. There were so many "WH...A...T...?!?" moments throughout the series but especially in the last book that just knocked my socks off. I found myself rereading parts because I knew I flew through them too quickly and needed to make sure I understood and savored everything. And when some time has passed, I'm going to read all the books again (ALL of them, not just Amber's) so I can savor everything all over again. Amber's books are the best, in my opinion, but all of them are really good and worth enjoying multiple times.
And if (when?) there are more books in the Other, I will be right there. Every time.

If you haven't already read Amber's story yet or have just found your way into the Other Realm, then I can recommend this complete collection.
Why? Well unlike the first time I became acquainted with Amber, you won't have to wait for Heather to write the next book in the series, then have it checked for errors before finally getting it published! Although Heather does seem to keep her Hellhounds happy and spoilt by how quickly she can surprise us with the next book and also provides a complete reading order for all of her series including the collaborations such as her Portlock Series and the new Witchlight Mysteries.
If you haven't already read Amber's story yet or have just found your way into the Other Realm, then I can recommend this complete collection.

This utterly amazing series, by one of my all time favourite authors, is an absolute must read!
I love all of the Glimmer books, each with its own sassy and strong female lead, but Amber is my favourite. Each book takes us further along the path to understanding Amber and her motivations. It also makes you love her that much more. I love the way her character is evolving and the additions to her circle. I REALLY don’t want to stop reading about Amber and Bastion!
There are edge of the seat moments and emotional ones too. Amber is a heroine of the best kind and her story is the kind that keeps you glued to it until the end.

Amber’s Complete Story
We were introduced to Amber in Jinx and Lucy’s story … and now Amber gets her own.
She’s a tough cookie, and in these books we get to know Amber and what’s underneath that tough exterior.
Bastien is a griffin and is integral in Amber’s story - and not just as a love interest. He has her back as she takes on the Black Witches and all the other bad guys around.
With some awesome side characters and our favourites (Lucy and Jinx) popping up, their relationships develop throughout the book in an heartwarming roller coaster of an adventure.
The Other Realm by Heather G Harris is my favourite book world, and so much fun to immerse yourself into.
We were introduced to Amber in Jinx and Lucy’s story … and now Amber gets her own.
She’s a tough cookie, and in these books we get to know Amber and what’s underneath that tough exterior.
Bastien is a griffin and is integral in Amber’s story - and not just as a love interest. He has her back as she takes on the Black Witches and all the other bad guys around.
With some awesome side characters and our favourites (Lucy and Jinx) popping up, their relationships develop throughout the book in an heartwarming roller coaster of an adventure.

Witches are the BEST!! Magic is AWESOME!! I first met Amber in The Glimmer of the Other & wanted to befriend her immediately! Amber is ambitious & is an incredible potion maker. Her newest is O.R.A.L. A deadly, handsome HOT griffin assassin, Bastien, has been assigned to protect her from foul enemies. Unfortunately, they have a terrible past she can't forget! This box set covers 4 novels and includes the good, bad, and ugly that encompass Amber's life! Friends Jinx, Emory, Lucy, & Manners have her back, yet Amber has to save the Other & the Circus from the baddies!! 5 STARS!!

I read each of these books individually, but the moment the box set was released, I sent the link to everyone I know who reads—because this series is that good! Now, you can binge it all in one go, and trust me, you’ll want to.
I absolutely love this series. Amber is easily in my top three favorite FMCs from Heather’s books. She’s sassy, strong, and completely unforgettable—and don’t even get me started on her mug collection… priceless! I can’t get enough of her, and if you haven’t started this series yet, now’s the perfect time!

Amber was introduced in the Glimmer, and more in the Court, and the Pack within The Other series as a minor character. We got to see her as others see her. But her strength and complex character made me want to read more about her. The Other Witch series did not disappoint and I was riveted with each turn of the page. The main character is superbly developed and the storytelling easily captures your heart and loyalty. This is a good read. It is made better by reading the entire The Other series in order, but it is not necessary.

The Other Witch series is one of my all-time favorites of Heather’s books! Amber is such a fabulous FMC. She is so powerful amd talented yet struggles to connect with others at times. I was thrilled to have all of these books in a box set. The adventures in each book are harrowing at times but the characters, both main and side ones are absolutely endearing! Bastion and Amber are too much fun! I recommend this series to everyone who asks for a good book to read.

I will be honest after listening to all the other books I thoughta Amber's story might be a bit dull! But actually this was as great as all the others and I want to read more if this is anymore.
I loved Amber's relationship with Bastion and all the witchy adventures. All the other characters were there but not so much in the foreground and it was really good to get to know Amber's story and friends (& enemies) in more detail.

Her collection of mugs, her lack of a familiar and her total brilliance, all swirl her right into.your heart.
Can she stay alive, and who wants her dead?
And then there's Bastian....
Delectable, delightful, I can't recommend this highly enough!!!! Read it!!!!

Heather is one of my favorite authors. This whole series starts with Glimmer of the Other. There is plenty of background info so you can read this series and still know what's going on. And Amber and Bastian are a great couple!! This series is so much fun. I especially like the mugs!! Don't miss it!

But as I read through the series, their relationships deepened, more is slowly revealed - making them both an exciting and riveting couple.

glad to find a new author!!
Grabbed the boxed set because the blurb matched in some ways another series I was reading-but this was so fun and energetic and different, I had a fun several days reading the books! What a trump Amber is, and Bastion really is just flaming hot!

Ummmm. These books were soooo good. Dare I say even my favorite of the world?? I did not think I would love them as much as I did but wow.
I loved the character development. I loved the continued world building. I am very excited for the next series but I am sad to have finished Amber’s POV.
Highly recommend but please read the other books in the world first!

The best read ever
Reading this series and one continual story has been a blessing. It adds to both the character and story growth and development. How the author manages to add such depth to her stories continues to amaze me. I highly recommend Heather's books to you.

GREAT Story
I never got bored reading this story! The beginning grabbed a hold of me, and I was hooked. That, to me, says a lot as I have always been a reader.If you like a fantasy with a lot of different creatures, you will love this one!

Amber, a witch to love
Another of Heather's series finished. I can safely say that I would recommend her books to anyone. They are like delving into another world, whilst still seeing the world we know.
