When Evans came over, I was enjoying a Chablis on the veranda. I have a penthouse on the shore, just across from Manhattan. He said that the bank was in order, and that we could expect the transaction to go through in the morning, around eight o'clock. So it was settled, we were rich, and the world lay open in front of us. Then my lady came in, wearing something she had bought today, and we toasted, on good fortune.
