I loved this book from the first page to the end.
35 magnificent crochet patterns to adorn your vases of flowers throughout all four seasons.
The author categorizes the flowers into sections, ranging from Focal flowers to Filler flowers and Bouquet Ideas.
As normal, the Author talks you through an introduction about turning a strand of yarn into a lifelike flower.
Then onto Tools and Materials, enabling you to get the best out of your equipment and giving you the chance to purchase, if you do not already have them, the right tools for the job!
The pictures throughout the book are amazing. they show what can be achieved and along with full instructions, and assembling them to make the perfect flower.
l loved the Sunflower with its vibrant yellow and brown wool. It stood out and will be one l will crochet.
There were lots of flowers which l had never seen, but knew they would add colour and difference to the vase.
Some flowers were not only single flowers on a stem, but you could make them into a stem with several flowers, and also adorn them with beads and pearls.
l thought the section on foliage was a must as nothing looks original in a vase than to have foliage as well as flowers. These could also be added to the flower stem to enhance the flower as well.
Then, near the end, you find the Bouquet ideas. From a beautiful Wedding Bouquet through to a cascade Bouquet.
Then, finally, you can check on the stitches required to make the flowers. (This l thought should've been at the front of the book, just after Tools and Materials)
Lastly, you find out a bit about the Author, and she also gives thanks to everyone who helped her.
Well done to the Author Li Li and also to David and Charles, her publishers.
l would recommend this book to anyone wanting to make flowers for not only a Bouquet, but for Brooches, Headbands, and to adorn flowerpots, throughout the house if you don't want vases of flowers, etc.

I received this DRC from Edelweiss.

The flowers included in this book are really pretty. They're more life-like than a lot of other crochet flower patterns I've seen. Included along with the directions are photos of some of the steps along the way, so it looks very clear to follow. I haven't actually made any, so I'll just assume that the directions are accurate. I like that all of the patterns use either 4- or 5- ply yarn, so that the flowers are on the same scale and can be put together in bouquets (bouquet flower combinations are also given). And, only a couple of different hook sizes are used, so not a lot of supplies are needed other than having the yarn colors you want.

My only critique is that I think it would have been nice to have gauges and finished dimensions listed. But there are some hands in the photos to give a sense of scale.

Overall, there is a good variety of patterns and the finished pieces look beautiful.
