The concepts presented in the Stress Effect aren't new. Stress, whether physical or emotional, is harmful to the body. It creates inflammation, damages any body organ and will lead to overall dis-ease. However, I liked the easy-to-understand way the author presented the complicated ways stress actually reaps havoc. Another area he touched on that was facinating to me is the power of the mind to actually create symptoms. He also touched on action steps to reduce the damage of inflammation and to get rid of the culprits - including emotional stress. He offered a bit more than breathing techniques, but ideas that are doable. Even though I was "forced" to read this book to renew my nutritionist license, I am glad I took the time to go through this resource.
