I first encountered Cathy Chapaty's blog "No Pouting in the Dojang" while doing a web search for ideas on how to best help ADHD students in my own Taekwondo and Karate classes. I was SO excited when she announced the publication of this memoir, and I sped through it in about 2 days.

This collection of vignettes resonated strongly with me. Ms. Chapaty walks her talk, and it is powerful. This memoir is a highly recommended read for martial arts instructors (and I daresay, anyone who teaches youth: coaches, public school, private school, daycare, etc). It will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you reflect on what you've given to the students who have passed through your hands.
