She’s the only person he can't resist and the one person he can never have...
Alexander Kenny is on top of the world until everything comes to a screeching halt. Dying for four and a half minutes will do that to a person. Alex goes from a gorgeous retired motocross racer who’s on top of the world to the shell of a man with the face of a beast.
Unable to move on from his accident, he hires an escort, hoping to feel like the man he once was. There’s just one small problem. The woman who shows up is the one person he can never have…Calla Malone. In an attempt to keep her from selling her body, Alex gives her a job as his assistant. Except doing the honorable thing and staying away from Calla soon becomes impossible.
Too bad there’s no future for a man and his best friend’s daughter.
Mica Rae is a contemporary romance author. She lives in Oregon with her Havanese and two Doodles. In the fall you can find her screaming at the TV while cheering for her Oklahoma State Cowboys. The rest of the year when she’s not writing or reading, her wanderlust has her traveling the globe. Her love of history currently has her on a mission to visit all thirteen presidential libraries and museums.
Best friend daughter love story Lots of spice, betrayal of trust forbidden fruit. It keeps you on the edge of your seatm. It pulls you in from the beginning and don't let you go. Calla and Alex. Alex having bad luck and had a accident that changed is whole life. His best friend Rigg by his side though it all. But when he trying to put his life back together he come across Calla without knowing it was her. Now he has to fight the urge to be with her so he don't hurt his best friend. Calla having issues with her father and his young wife. She turn to other ways to make money and see her long life crush her dad best friend.
This is a modern Beauty and the Beast retelling with lots of angst, turbulent emotions and a few twists. Love knows no boundaries, as Alex and Calla discover. It does’t see age differences, scars (physical or emotional), limits of friendships or societal norms. After a horrific accident, Alex believes his scars and inner rage make him a monster, a monster that needs to hide in the shadows and live alone. He never imagined that seeking an escort would bring his best friend’s beautiful daughter to his home. Alex is determined to save her from a life selling her body and gives her a job as his assistant. Despite his attraction and deepening feelings for her, he vows to keep her at a distance, to be loyal to his friend. He never thought she could see beyond the scars, see the true man beneath them or love him as he is. Love and passion bind them together, but is it enough when others are against their relationship?
I couldn’t put this book down, once I started to read it. Alex is the tortured hero you can’t help but love, and Calla is the sweet misguided heroine who falls head over heels in love with him. They rescue each other, heal the emotional wounds the other carries and forge a love to last a lifetime. I give this very hot and spicy book my recommendation.
Alex Kenny is 37 and a former motocross racer. Even though he retired fifteen years prior he's still on top of the world, very outgoing and enjoying his life. That's until he had an accident that changed his life that made him into a shell of the man he was. Three years have passed since the accident and that he has been with anyone so he decides to hire an escort to hopefully feel more like a man. The problem comes when that escort turns out to be his best friend's daughter, Calla Malone.
Calla is 20, going to college for a marketing degree and needs to make money since her dad cut her off. The last thing she expected was to see someone she knows when she takes this new job.
Alex isn't about to let Calla continue in that job so he hires her to be his assistant. Only it turns out to be so much more. But neither are ready to tell her dad so they keep sneaking around hoping no one will know. What could possibly go wrong?
4.5 stars I really enjoyed their story. Alex really was a great guy and cared about his friend but also wanted to be happy, something that he hadn't been in a while. There are some twists you don't expect.
It starts in the middle of Rebelling Into Forever. You can read that story first to understand more of what is happening.

Alexander and Calla had a fun/embarrassing meet cute. She is getting paid to be an escort to make money for bills due to her father cutting her off.
They had an instant connection, but once their masks came off, they realized who each other are. Alex decides to help her with offering her a job as his assistant and move in with him. So she doesn't have to sell herself for money. They fight their attraction but eventually sparks fly.
Mica does a great job at sucking you into her stories and making you love her characters!!
I didn’t read the first two but it didn’t feel super necessary though the world wasn’t super set up for because of that. This just did not do it for me. I love an age gap and a father’s best friend but this was just kinda meh. I loved the prologue and was super excited for the start with the accident set up and then just felt super disappointed after. It felt like the characters weren’t fully developed and their relationship was kinda shallow. Alex hates himself because he’s a “beast” because he’s “so ugly now” but his entire personality was sweet & self conscious all while claiming he’s so “dark inside”. Calla is spoiled and a brat per her father and herself but then she’s doing everything she can to make everyone else happy and feel loved. But not it wasn’t like that was set up in the scenes/dialogue it was all within their internal monologues. It mostly felt like a newer author who was telling me versus showing me. I didn’t really enjoy it for that feeling of being bored and feeling like it wasn’t fully developed.

Alex feels like a monster and is so broken because of his accident. He is retired from motor cross but still works with Titan. Calla is a spoiled little girl who's dad just happens to be Alex's best friend's daughter. Alex knows that he shouldn't have feelings for Calla and that he shouldn't get involved but she makes him feel whole and unbroken. It is interesting that Calla's romance follows the same path as her father's but she knows what she wants. Calla and Alex's relationship actually helps Calla form a relationship with her new step mom.
This story shows that there sometimes is more to a person and a story that what we see from the outside. That it is not our place to judge what works for someone else.
He is a scarred man inside and out , she is young and beautiful but also is best friend's daughter.... The story seems doomed from the beguining , but of course they will find a way ( it's a Mica Ray book after all ! ). I loved that story and became invested in it very quickly ( but then it was the same with the other books in this series !). The first few pages were a bit difficult for me to read since it depicts a car accident from the point of view of the driver , and I was in that same situation not so long ago. But the book is well written and the story captivating , so you will only get one advice from me : go for it !
- Age gap - Forbidden romance - Beauty and the Beast vibes
This is not a feel good romance, but it had me all IN my feels. After a car incident leaves Alex in a very dark place, he withdraws from the world.
Now 3 years later, he is ready for some companionship, so reaches out to an escort service. He is surprised to find the escort is his best friend's daughter, Calla.
Calla is trying to make money to go to college after being cut off by her father. She wasn't expecting to see her new client be Alex!
Alex hires Calla to be his assistant so that she doesn't need to stay with the escort service, but he is not expecting that they will fall for each other....
This is the third stand alone in the Titan Racing universe. Alex is retired from motor cross but, working in the industry still. He has a car accident that leaves him scarred on the outside as well as the inside. Years later, everything changes when he arranges for an escort for a night. His best friend’s daughter, Calla, turns out to be the woman in his room and despite knowing it’s wrong, they struggle against the pull between them. This is an age gap/taboo romance. Intense attraction, back and forth emotions, guilt and drama make this a quick read you can’t put down. Thankfully, Alex and Calla get their happily ever after.
When racer Alex had an accident leaving him scarred he hires an escort but the one who comes is Calla a woman he can never have so he offers her a job.
Confronting and emotional at times as grump Alex is heartbroken with everything. He genuinely cares for Calla and wants to protect her, which is surprising for him because he can't go there. But that attraction is short lived.
Well done and an intuitive m intriguing story about second chances and love is blind at times. Very worth the read.
After an accident left Alex viewing himself as a monster is determined to live a life alone not wanting anyone to see him physically or emotionally damaged. He doesn’t want to put himself out in the open and leave himself vulnerable.
Calla, she only sees him, nothing more but the pain that he holds inside. She sees the man not the monster that he sees.
Come and see another version of Beauty and the Beast!
Alex never thought that he someone would find him handsome after his accident. He didn’t even know if he could perform as he hadn’t been with anyone since the accident. But when he tried to hire and escort, he didn’t realize that he would get Calla. His best friend’s daughter. Sad thing, she was the one he wanted. Can they make things work out? Will his best friend forgive him?
This was a fast and easy read. Alex and Calla are characters from previous books in the Titan racing series. It’s another age gap book, like Calla’s dad’s (Riggs) book, but it’s also her dad’s best friend. The plot is a little repetitive and predictable from previous books by this author, but the FMC is less immature than some of the previous books, which is a positive!
I bought a copy as soon as it went live and immediately jumped right in. Mica Rae brings the spice and feels again and even made me like the fmc who got on my nerves in the previous book. This was so much escapist fun to go along with a retired motocross guy especially when he brings his girl on a haunted tour of Alcatraz.
Tropes: age gap forbidden (dad's best friend) Beauty and the Beast vibes
Alex is a famous ex motocross racer; very sad and down after a car accident that almost killed him. Calla is his best friend’s daughter; very stressed and feeling like a disappointment to her dad; and with lots a debts. They find each other in a delicate situation but they find their love and company; they try to resist but the pull between them is stronger and real. It is cute and nice to read how they fight for their relationship.
I feel like this had a lot of promise. It starts strong with getting a feel for our MMC's situation from his accident and how he's struggling with moving on. The connection between MMC and FMC just felt a but forced, or maybe rushed. I think I'll definitely go back and read the previous books to get a better feel for the whole Titan Racing world to give it a fair second chance.

Did someone say best friend’s daughter? The element of motocross racer and a forbidden romance was completely by accident. It had everything that you could want in a book and the spice? Do not get me started. I love it so much and everyone needs to run because it is available now! The writing was beautiful and the plot was there which always makes a book more enjoyable!
A beautiful dads best friend story. Calla needs a job not that her father cut her off financially while Alex feels unattractive. Callie‘s first assignment turned out to be none other than her father‘s best friend. Hidden behind masks calla and Alex enjoy themselves but once the mask drops panic sets in. They have some obstacles to overcome, but they are determined to stay together.
Alex and Calla... I haven't read the first two books in the series, but I will definitely be going back and reading them. Alex was in a terrible accident and because of his injuries, he thinks that he is a monster. Calla is his best friend's daughter, but that doesn't matter when you love someone. Calla doesn't see a monster but a man needing love.
This was a fantastic contemporary, age-gap, forbidden romance! I seriously could not put this book down & read the whole thing in a day. The characters were relatable & well written. I loved the growth & confidence boost Alex showed in the story. He is such a sweet MMC!! Overall a great read
Hot age gap. Check. Dad's Best Friend. Check. Sweet young lady trying to make it. Check. This is a sweet but wild ride into Alex and Callas adventures. Such a great read and highly recommended if you like age gap and dad's best friend reads!
Engaging read. So many tropes in this novel…what’s not to love. Plot follows the MCs, but brings in characters from other books in the series. Good balance of steam to romance. Growth of BOTH MCs. First read in the series and I’ll be following with others.
Perfection! It flowed. It was emotional. It had its ups and downs but with an excellent ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I received an ARC and voluntarily leave this honest review.
I love the best friend's brother trope. Calla and Alex had off the charts chemistry. I loved everything about this book. It was a one sitting read for me. This is a voluntary review.
I love a good age gap book and especially when it comes with drama. Like her being his best friend's daughter. This book was such a good book, and I really enjoyed it so much.
*Resisting Into Forever* is a decent slow-burn romance with a mix of emotional depth and steamy moments. The story explores second chances and personal growth, which adds a relatable layer to the characters’ journey. Mica Rae’s writing is engaging, and there are some genuinely touching scenes.
Overall, it’s an okay read with solid potential, but it didn’t fully stand out in the crowded romance genre. If you enjoy angsty, slow-burn love stories, with a big age gap, you might still find some enjoyment here.
Alex had a horrific accident and now believes he is a monster that can never find love. Calla is his best friend’s daughter and is lost in life. Through strange circumstances they find each other and she comes to work for him. Enjoy this story ❤️🔥
