3.5🌟 Calvin and Sadie are expecting their first baby. But before the responsibility of parenthood begins they hope to take one last relaxing vacation.
Only this last outing is anything but a serene getaway. The cabin owners seem to be lurking around every corner! Ummm…creepy! But that’s just the beginning! Things are about change for the happy couple when Calvin decides to reveal a teeny, tiny secret💣🤯
And that’s all you’ll get from me!
If you’re a Kiersten Modglin fan then you know you’re in for some wild twists.
🎧: narration provided by Abigail Reno and Jay Myers. Both did a fabulous job with their characters.
Kiersten Modglin is always full of crazy twists and turns and this one was no exception. I thought it moved a little slower than I was expecting or hoping for but the twists at the end were worth it. I listened to the audiobook and I liked the narrators a lot, they really brought the characters to life. Sadie and her fiance have planed a short getaway as a last trip before Sadie gives birth. Sadie wasn’t sure she wanted to be a mother but now that she can feel her daughter inside of her she knows this is the most magical thing that has ever happened to her. But nothing about the trip goes as planned and her perfect fiancé seems to have been keeping secrets. This was a super quick book and I definitely enjoyed it.
I was completely engrossed by this story from the very first page! The plot was a bit over the top, but in the best possible way – think classic Lifetime movie. The twists and turns kept me guessing, and I found myself wanting to see how it would all unfold. While some elements might seem a bit far-fetched, the overall experience was incredibly entertaining and left me wanting more!

Calvin & Sadie are engaged and having a baby. They're on their babymoon when she starts getting weird vibes, especially from the owners of the house they're staying in. But then she starts questioning Calvin's actions and then she's on a tailspin trying to find out what's up.
Well I didn't see the twist coming, so yay for that, but it was super mean and I didn't like it. Super fast paced, so yay for that, too. That's all I got to say.
This is a well-written, entertaining psychological thriller. It is fast paced and has a likable female protagonist, suspense, expected twists, and a surprising conclusion. I listened to the audio book, and the narrators, Ms. Abigail Reno and Mr. Jay Myers, do an excellent job voicing the characters.
I really liked this book. I was totally engrossed in it right from the start. It was a quick read but entertaining. I have never read a book by Kiersten Modglin but I will definitely remedy that now. I did find the book to be very short but the story was complete. The ending was a bit of a shocker. I liked the short chapters and there were plenty of twists along the way. I would definitely recommend this book to others! A 5 star rating from me.
Wow! What an incredible read! The twists and turns in this book were absolutely captivating and kept me on the edge of my seat, making it nearly impossible to put down. KM truly delivered an engaging story that had me reading late into the night. While the ending felt a bit far-fetched, the way everything came together was unexpected and satisfying. Overall, this was such a thrilling experience, and I’m so glad I finished book #28 with a bang!
4.5 ⭐️ | I should have know known Kiersten Modglin would throw in a crazy & unexpected twist!! The Last Trip was a GREAT suspense thriller that keeps eye brows raised, and forehead frowned as you try to decipher what is actually happening! Calvin a Sadie are newly engaged and expecting their first child. They decide to take a trip, sort of a last hoorah before the baby arrives, as they know their lives will change forever soon. Soon after they arrive at their cabin, Sadie begins to question is she in danger. Between the odd couple that owns the cabin continuing to show up and Calvin’s long lost adult daughter surfacing, Sadie beings to question those around her. But per usual in true Kiersten fashion, you won’t know what’s going on “until you know.” Abigail Reno & Jay Myers did great with the narration!
Highly highly recommend this novel. Thank you Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this advanced listening copy. All opinions are my own.
Domestic thrillers: you either get hooked or can’t be bothered. There’s rarely an in-between. Unfortunately, this one landed firmly in the ‘can’t be bothered’ camp for me. At only 155 pages, it felt all over the place, like it was rushing to build a plot in too little time. The characters were all frustrating, and the so-called ‘plot twist’ just didn’t land. On the plus side, at least the mmc got what he deserved—so, yay for that.
Wow!! I had this plot completely wrong. Another twisted plot. How far one will go to have a child! Seduction, lies, obsession, deception and that is just the beginning!
A baby moon getaway starts off with a bang and the hits keep coming until the VERY LAST LINE!
4.5 stars! This book was absolutely wild. I thought I knew what this book would be about. It sounded creepy and like a typical couple on a trip thriller. Out of no where all these twists come smacking me in the face. I didn’t see one single bit of that coming. This is why Kiersten is a must read for me.
2.5 I really like this author but this one just wasn't it. I immediately struggled with the audio from both narrators. The overall plot felt so rushed and I found myself not caring about any of the characters. Even though this was a shorter story it felt really long. Overall, it wasn't for me but might be for you!
Ok, Cal was the absolute worst! I couldn’t stand how he talked to and treated his fiancee. No man is worth that hassle imo. The trip to the cabin was SO creepy, a weirdo old couple acting eerily bizarre would scare me the hell outta there!
The whole story was a thrilling, tangled yarn, but with an ending that felt subpar and frayed.
THE LAST TRIP BY THE LEGEND THAT IS Kiersten Modglin. I've loved every single second of this book. Thank you for sharing your work with us. I've said it many times but I'll say it again..... I will always read every single book you write. YOU ARE AMAZING. 5 HUGE SPARKLING ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨S.
4 stars ↠ a bit predictable and an extremely insane plot, but i had a lot of fun with it. i’ve only read one other book by kiersten modglin, and that one was just as great of a time. this was fast paced, and despite being predictable, it was an entertaining plot regardless. definitely going to get to more of her books soon.
KMod always has entertaining reads. She sets a nice pace, and her style makes for an interesting read. While I breezed through this book, I felt the twists were a little silly and over the top. I’d still recommend it if you want some mindless fun.
Major lifetime movie vibes. I love a lot of this authors books but this one was kind of a miss for me! It just kind of seemed silly and far fetched. I wasn’t exactly sure where it was going and some things I feel like we still didn’t really get answers for? You can probably skip this one!
This book was wild! I really enjoyed the authors style of writing, which had me hooked from the start. I couldn’t put this book down. Half way through I thought I knew what was happening - then came the twists and this really left me shocked and surprised. So many little details all neatly tied in together that made perfect sense from a different perspective.
This book was written from two perspectives of the main characters - before and after. I really enjoyed this as each chapter left you on a hanger wanting to know more about that specific timeline so I just kept reading.
This was my first of this author, I’ve seen so many positive reviews so when I seen she had this new release I had to give it a go and I wasn’t disappointed at all.
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for creativity and capturing my attention.
Okay, Ms. Modglin *shakes fist* why do you do this to me....
You'd think I'd learn my lesson, I constantly still pick up her books because I loved a few of the first books I read of hers, but she continues to just let me down and be very McOverthetopden and it just pisses me off.
This one wasn't as OTT and stupid af, as the last couple have been and I was genuinely enjoying myself until the 70% mark where things took a turn and I literally rolled my eyes so far back into my head, I will be looking from the back of my head for awhile. 🫠
What a mixed bag of a book. This is a short book at around 200 pages but there is so much to unpack from it. I will try not to give too much away though. The Chapters alternate between 'him' and 'her' and 'before' and 'now' which can get somewhat confusing at times. We are introduced to a college professor and his fiancée in the story as they begin dating in the past and in the now there is a pregnancy. The professor is a very controlling and calculating man always wanting to plan everything but as we know 'life usually has other plans' The book starts off in a good pace from the start setting of the 2 story tinelines and soon certain questions are asked. What is annoying throughout most of the book is that you have these questions, certain things happen where the characters could tell you what they are thinking after all we are in their thoughts this being a first person book and all. However for the sake of suspense and mystery we are kept in the dark and it gets somewhat frustrating being dragged out for so long until the end just so that we can gets 5 twists/reveals towards the end. I'd much rather the puzzle pieces where revealed in a much more organic way as this made the main female character seem very annoying at times. I feel she seemed too vulnerable and then too empowered it just made no sense. Towards the end I did like the layers of the story however again would have preferred a more organic layered reveal. A shout out to the male narrator who executed his narration perfectly and was very reminiscent of 'YOU'. Many thanks to Dreamscape who provided me with an audio copy of this book via NetGalley for review. All opinions are my own.
3.5. What should have been a romantic baby moon for this couple turns into so much more. I don’t want to talk about the plot too much because it’s really fun going in without too much info!
I will say I listened to this while cleaning my house from start to finish and I had a really good time with it! I yelled no way! more than once and felt so surprised! It was fast paced with well done characters and thoroughly entertaining. The ending wasn’t my favorite but I appreciate it for what it was and had a ton of fun with it!
