DNF @ Chapter 96 (crazy)

Listen man. I really enjoyed all the cringe, nerdy gamer stuff in the beginning. It was tooth rottingly fluffy, sappy, gooey, funny... all the good stuff. It's why I'm rating it a kind 3* instead of a 2*, the memories are too good.

It's not that it got bad near the end per se, but the fun of it all was lost on me after they finally got together in real life. Like... what's the point now?

Also, this is a personal taste thing, but Jigu is so fucking UGLY. 😭 His face is pretty but I find his muscley body to be absolutely ridiculous and I couldn't look at him without laughing. That's probably why I enjoyed seeing his gamer avatar a lot more than him in real life. It made the NSFW scenes near the end so much worse because Jigu kept making ugly faces and I physically couldn't stand to read it bruh.

From what I'm seeing, the final chapter seems to be chapter 113, so maybe one day I'll pick it back up and finish it. But I'm just utterly unmotivated because the secret identity gaming aspect is completely gone now, which is what I found to be fun in the first place.

Maybe I'll give the novel a try instead? I won't have to see Jigu's absurd ass muscles then. I'll actually be able to take him seriously as a person.

Oh man, hahahaha 🤣 ich hab mich bei so vielen Panels so beömmelt! Zuerst: ich möchte bitte Illusion spielen, jetzt! 🥹 Das sieht so niedlich aus und auch spaßig - an manchen Stellen hat's mich sehr an Ragnarök Online und meine Zockerzeit von früher erinnert (darüber hab ich btw auch meinen Freund kennengelernt 💖). Der Plot spielt teils im echten Leben und zum anderen Teil im Spiel. Zu Beginn lernen wir Yeowoon kennen, der extrem genervt davon ist, dass die Klimaanlage im Büro seiner Arbeit nicht funktioniert. Nach ein paar Seiten gibt's dann einen kleinen Sprung in die Vergangenheit, wie er zu dem Job kam und was es mit seinem Chatpartner auf sich hat. Damals war er arbeitslos, hatte sein vorheriges MMORPG aufgegeben und mit Illusion angefangen. Dort ist er dann an »Jigu« geraten und hatte keine besonders schöne erste Begegnung, haha. Da entstanden schon die ersten witzigen Szenen - z.B. hat dieser ihn im Spiel einfach so gekillt, beschimpft und verarscht. Durch bestimmte Umstände haben sie dann aber immer mehr miteinander zu tun und so merken beide, dass der jeweils andere wohl doch anders ist, als im ersten Moment gedacht. Auch im Real Life geht's voran: Yeowoon wird zum Vorstellungsgespräch eingeladen, trifft auf einen etwas seltsamen Kerl, entdeckt ein schönes ruhiges Café und findet eine neue Wohnung, nachdem er den Job bekommen hat. So, mehr will ich jetzt nicht mehr verraten, es lässt sich alles auch nicht so gut in Worte fassen. Aber die Atmosphäre zieht mich extrem mit, ich kann die Charaktere super gut verstehen und die Designs sind auch sehr nice. Auch das Artwork gefällt mir sehr gut, detailliert und farbintensiv. Von dem 18+ merkt man bisher noch nichts, denn bisher läuft noch gar nichts in der Richtung, haha. Aber ich freu mich schon sehr auf Band 2! ❤️‍🔥

Series review as of 23 July, 2026: THE PERFECT SERIES. I lovedddd the video game aspect, and for the first time, the use of it as actually very entertaining for me (usually I skip it).

I must say though, seeing uncensored content after 50 episodes of wholesome cuteness was SHOCKING LMAOOOO. The whole misunderstanding ending up in that ridiculous scene was so funny yet cringey. I can’t believe it was a running gag for almost the entire series.

Obviously the series isn’t finished, but I’m curious as to what happened with the stalker situation with the mail. The last time it was brought up was when Neutaaaa guy got sick again.

I’m also curious as to why the reveal of Ji9star wasn’t as big of a deal as it was made up to be. He hid the fact that he was the online best friend for a YEAR all while pursuing Neutaaa in real life; that’s kinda crazy no?!? And bro just accepted it after looking over his shoulder for like one second. I did love the dynamic of one person knowing since in series like this that I’ve read, they usually make the reveal happen sooner and no one takes advantage of the knowledge, you know? This added so much more irony, and it was so fun to read.

THIS IS SO GOOD 😭😭😭 I LOVEE GAMER STUFF. I love how naturally flirty Yeowoon is; and he doesn't even realise!!! And Jigu is so cute 😭💖. All the characters are awesome, and the plot is so well written. There's a bunch of misunderstandings, but they're not frustrating at all. Very fluffy and comedic read!
