Haha, I really liked this one!

This book is about a Supercat and his owner. Yes, a supercat. Apparently James his cat got turned into a superhero thanks to a mouldy sock. (No, no, just don't ask. :P) Now he can speak x languages, can move super fast, and various other things.

It was a bit confusing, but then I guess that is what happens when one reads the second book before the first one. My defence though is that I didn't know this was a second book. I just saw the book at the library and took it with me because it looked oh so much fun. So I had no clue what happened with Count Backwards in the previous one. Nor do I really get how they can keep hiding the fact the cat is now super.

This time we have birthdays (both James and the Queen), and of course things don't always go right. Thankfully, Supercat is there to save the day and destroy the party poopers.

It was all quite fun, and exciting, I definitely loved the Queen and how she was portrayed in this one.

I do wish James was a bit more honest about his present from Supercat. I know you don't want it, then let him know. Now you are just hurting his feelings with all the excuses.

I was also happy with Supercat, often you would see pets who turn into superbeings get all cocky, annoying, and frustrating. But not this one. Supercat was really friendly, nice, and sweet. He saw him and his owner as a team. Together they solved stuff, together they save the world.

The book is also full of illustrations, and I loved them all. They made the book oh so much more fun than it already was. :)

All in all, great book, would recommend, and I will definitely have to see if one of my libraries has book 1.

I have a habit of reading book 2 in a series first. Mostly due to availability.

This is a completely ridiculous story with a lot of bad puns and unbelievable action. It is all the better for that. It has certain aspects that are used so often as to be clichéd but also ones that the target audience might not have come across yet. Especially as there isn't that many superheroes aimed at the target audience.

The publisher lists this as suitable for 6-8 year olds but I feel it might be a little advanced for the lower age of that range to read alone. There are some complicated words and phrases that a younger reader might need help with. I would suggest a 8-10 year old audience instead if they are reading it without active help.

I found it to be an enjoyable if not spectacular read. It is a good 3* read but not quite a 4* one.

Super cat was about a little boy that had a boring cat but one day he ate toxic funguses on James sock and then he turned into a superhero now he and James save the world on James birthday same day as the queen. The queen had her feast and invited the royal family from all around the globe. When all of the people had there cake apart from one count backwards they didn’t know he was a super villain put a sleeping sickness pill crushed up on the cake and the hole of the royal family fell asleep.

The Queen and her party guests have come down with a mysterious illness. A mysterious Duke has taken over the country, and James Jones doesn't think he's who he says he is. James and Supercat are on the case! But will they be able to solve the mystery and save the Queen or even up locked in the tower themselves?

A humorous children's action story about a ten-year-old boy and his not so ordinary pet cat. Supercat is cocky, but brave and good-hearted. It was fun. My seven-year-old son enjoyed it.
