For a Few Demons More

Despite dating one vampire and living with another, Rachel Morgan has always managed to stay just ahead of trouble . . . until now. A fiendish serial killer stalks the Hollows, and no one living in or around Cincinnati—human, inhuman, or undead—is safe. An ancient artifact may be the key to stopping the murderer—a mysterious relic that is now in the hands of Rachel Morgan, fearless independent bounty hunter and reckless witch. But revealing it could ignite a battle to the death among the vast and varied local supernatural races. Rachel's been lucky so far. But even she can't hide from catastrophe forever.

The Outlaw Demon Wails

When you dance with demons, you lay your soul on the line … In the Hollows, where the natural and the supernatural co-exist—not always peacefully—desperate times often call for unorthodox measures. But bounty hunter-witch Rachel Morgan did the absolutely unthinkable to save the lives of her friends: she willingly trafficked in forbidden demon magic. And now her sins have come home to haunt her. As Rachel hunts for the truth behind a terrifying murder, the discovery of a shocking family secret is about to throw her entire life into question. And the long-lost ancient knowledge she seeks resides in the demonic ever-after. But there are some lines that should never be crossed—like the one Rachel Morgan's stepping over . . . Again!

White Witch, Black Curse

Kick-ass bounty hunter and witch Rachel Morgan has crossed forbidden lines, taken demonic hits, and still stands. But the death of her lover struck her harder than she ever thought possible. She won't rest until his murder is solved . . . and avenged. But a new predator is moving to the apex of the Inderlander food chain—and now Rachel's past is coming back to haunt her. Literally.

Black Magic Sanction

Rachel Morgan has fought and hunted vampires, werewolves, banshees, demons, and other supernatural dangers as both witch and bounty hunter—and lived to tell the tale. But she's never faced off against her own kind . . . until now. Denounced and shunned for dealing with demons and black magic, her best hope is life imprisonment—her worst, a forced lobotomy and genetic slavery. Only her enemies are strong enough to help her win her freedom. But trust comes hard when it hinges on the unscrupulous tycoon Trent Kalamack, the demon Algaliarept, and a lowlife ex-boyfriend-turned-thief.

Book 5: For a Few Demons More ...

These books get better with every one! From book one you are invested in the characters because they are so well crafted. You can see the Hollows because the scene is set masterfully! The story is so well told you become immersed in it and become personally invested in the characters and their wants & desires!

Read book 1 -4 first & then READ THIS BOOK; you will not be sorry you did!

Publisher Description {Partial ...}

Despite dating one vampire and living with another, Rachel Morgan has always managed to stay just ahead of trouble . . . until now.

A fiendish serial killer stalks the Hollows, and no one living in or around Cincinnati--human, inhuman, or undead--is safe.

My Review:

Rachel has her hands full with "Her" vampires and now another Serial Killer is plaguing the Hollows! How does Rachel always end up in these messes?

Read the book & see if you can figure it out along with how it turns out in the end!

Book 6:The Outlaw Demon Wails ...

These books get better with every one! From book one you are invested in the characters because they are so well crafted. You can see the Hollows because the scene is set masterfully! My review:

Learning a family secret really throws Rachel for a loop and makes her question everything! We find out a little more about Rachel & what makes her so scrappy!

Will she be able to recover from this shock & handle whats coming?
Read the book to find out of course! :)

Book 7:White Witch, Black Curse ...

My Review:

Well Rachel has done it now ... now she might just be in trouble she can not get herself out of!! She has been Shunned and her best "hope for life" is imprisonment for life! Worst case scenario: "a forced lobotomy and genetic slavery" ... what will be Rachel's fate?

This is another really bad quartet. In fact, it's so bad my mind blocked out most of what I skimmed through. I even skipped books in the middle. The series sort of has 'two' stories - the one with the vamps, and the one with the elves and demons. The elves and demons storyline is fantastic, not the least because Trent is there (he continues to be the sole reason motivating me to keep reading) but because the demons are very interesting and the history behind the elf-demon war is very intriguing too.

No words can convey how much I dislike the vamp storyline and Rachel's extremely toxic codependent relationship with Ivy. I have no words for how much I hated reading about Rachel's approach to relationship - wanting to jump the bones of every man she meets, falling in love with shitty and boring men, dying for the slightest bit of attention from men... I also got so irritated by Rachel's approach to life in general - consistently making the worst decisions, never thinking things through, acting really immature and mouthing off like a teenager at everything... The number of times I was so done with her, I swear to god.

I literally only managed to skim my way through the series because I saw a spoiler that Trent and her get together and I want to be here for that slowburn.

The series starts answering some more details pertaining to the Hollows and more specifics about each species and how they interrelate to each other. The depth and beauty of the world interlaced with humor and danger keeps you engrossed in the series. Our favorite butt kicking heroine starts working on her flaws and the character development is phenomenal. Again, the books are unnecessarily long but entertaining.

Sort of hit and miss overall, but cool idea. Rachel sure makes a lot of bad decisions... I guess that's sort of the m.o. of the character, but sometimes it grows tiresome. I'm committed to seeing the stories through at this point, but it's kind of like Supernatural in that you have to work through some bad seasons.

I read this a while back and liked it but had kind of forgotten everything:P I blame MA brain. I picked up the series again to catch up so I could read the new ones and because I'm planning my own urban fantasy type book. This time around I gotta Rachel annoyed the piss out of me. She's so impulsive sometimes to the point of stupidity. I get why the character is set up this way but her black/white view of the world is grating for someone who is supposed to be such a bad ass. In addition, she seems perfectly fine in messing with some pretty grey areas aka calling up demons but then gets pretty judgey when Trent is dealing in biodrugs to save people's lives. But over all, the books are fun and pretty decently written which frankly is pretty amazing in the world of urban fantasy.

Love this entire series. I've been waiting for years as each new book comes out. I am currently on the waiting list with overdrive for the last one so I can listen while I commute. Will be eager to see what Kim and/or dawn cook come up with next. I own them all, worth reading more than once. Love the characters popping in and out of each book or so, growing from adversary to friend, all in all a great journey.

Once again, Kim Harrison doesn't disappoint with books 5-8 of this series. Harrison's characters are so believable and loveable they feel like friends I've had for a while. Her stories have a great progression and I find myself more and more invested in Rachel's future. I would recommend this Series to anyone who enjoys the Fantasy Genre!!
