Amy Kaybach has been writing since she learned to hold a pencil at three. When she’s not daydreaming about sexy rock stars and how to put them into print, she’s working in IT or planning her next great adventure with her best friend since junior high. She lives on the central coast of California with her two obnoxious, but well-loved beagles. As a motorsports fan she loves her cars loud and fast and as a music lover she her music hard and loud.
The SeaSong Cafe by Amy Kaybach was low-level spice but highly recommended. People rip on romance novels and forget it’s about the story. The story of Harmony and Tobias is truly lovely. It has its ups and downs just like any other story, but again, as the reader, there has to be some emotional investment. For me, this has a bookstore and a coffee shop that are right next to one another. Oh, and did I mention that the owner of the coffee shop, Harmony, has a rocker family backstory; previous books that are worth digging into? Tobias starts on the wrong foot, purposefully, and truly has to work to get back into the good graces of not only Harmony but the reader as well. Harmony is so likable that she wins everyone over from the get-go; you can’t help but love her. It was hard watching her struggle with who she is, what she wants, and branching out on her own. I love that her family rallies around her and refuses to let her crumble and just quit. Her cousin is my new favorite character, I hope his book is next because he seems delicious. Gibson is a true gem and the bff everyone wants in a tough spot. I for sure recommend this book- 4.5 stars for me. I wanted a little reunion spice, or just more in general, but that’s my personal preference, and I wanted a more thorough wrap-up of what happened to that cop. That .5 extra comes from a playlist that always makes me swoon and the song they sung by Vixen that was a personal fav growing up!
