Janet grew up in the wide open spaces of rural Montana and now lives in the urban spaces of Pasadena, California. She's used both of these locations in her books. Her Dry Creek, Montana series numbers over twenty novels now and her Pasadena books, The Sisterhood of the Dropped Stitches, number four.
First Janet's Mail Order Sunshine Bride is a historical romance, that enraptures the readers. It portrays the the struggle of a widow left with a son. It's the kind of fiction that gives hope to readers. Never give up no matter how hard it seems. Nellie is a very strong heroine. Though at times I felt as if she need to tone down her attitude.
add Margaret Daley's Deadly Intent. A mystery suspense novel with the right amount of romance. Most of suspense novel, are dragged down by the romance but this one, isn't one of those! You'll love the mystery that lurks in this book.
then Camy Tang's Unshakable Pursuit, I really don't know how to describe this one, without spoiling anything. This is actually the reason why I gave this anthology a Five star! A page turner! The right blend of everything, from action, romance, suspense, mystery, thrilling. This is a must read!
And last but not the least, Lacy Williams's With Love, Cowboy. This is for those of you who loves the idea of true love! (aren't we all?) I don't know how many times I cried with this one. I love the Ashely and maybe that's because she reminds me of myself, very hard-headed, stubborn and idiotic! I wish I could find someone as loyal and loving as Ryan!
Sealed With a Kiss: Inspy Kisses Collection #2 is an anthology which has an author line up of Janet Tronstad, Margaret Daley, Camy Tang, and Lacy Williams. This collection of romantic novellas is released by Aspendawn Books, with one historical western, two contemporary suspense stories, and one contemporary story.
1) Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad
This historical western is set in Miles City, Montana Territory, in 1886. Eleanor (Nellie) O'Reilly has come by rail with her four year old son, Danny, in tow. Widowed at the age of 24, she seeks a fresh start as a mail order bride. Instead of meeting her future husband at the station, she is welcomed to Miles City by the local sheriff, Patrick MacDonald. Because Patrick doesn't immediately reveal why he's there to meet her at the station, Nellie guesses that Elias, her intended has died, but Patrick reassures her that Elias is very much alive, however, the sheriff needs to escort her and her son to the jail. By the end of the first chapter, we find out that Patrick didn't really want to take up this duty, but did so to handle the quarrel between Elias and a mountain man, Sawtooth Jim. Elias gambled away Nellie to Sawtooth Jim in a poker game.
Nellie no longer wishes to marry Elias, but wants to repay the train fare which is an astronomical sum to reimburse. Patrick, upon meeting Nellie and spending time with her, feels protective towards his two new charges, and would be willing to give up money for his own dream of owning cattle for his ranch so that she would be free of her debt. However, Nellie will not take any charity, not even from Mrs. Lilly, a former soiled dove who gives Nellie an idea on how to repay Elias through respectable means. Even if Nellie frees herself from Elias, would Patrick be able to win Nellie's heart? She's dead set against a man who uses a gun, but Patrick is the sheriff and a gun is vital and necessary equipment for his line of work.
I enjoyed the dry humour in this novella and I liked Nellie and Patrick. You get an inkling that Nellie is attracted to Patrick from the first time she sees him; she perceives him to be dangerous and forceful, and is quite unsettled by him. Elias is sufficiently weasel-like, and Sawtooth Jim, from what little we see of him, is quite a character. I haven't always been able to get into Janet Tronstad's work in the past, but I found Mail Order Sunshine Bride to be an enjoyable story to read.
2) Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley
This contemporary romantic suspense novella reunites Sarah Osborn, a Texas Ranger, and Ian O'Leary, a former FBI agent who has returned home to continue running the family ranch after his father had passed on. Sarah is investigating a series of cattle rustling and is assigned to check out the theft of Ian's prize stallion to see if this has any connection to her case. Interacting with Ian is awkward for Sarah because of their past; they had been sweethearts while in their teens, but Ian broke up with Sarah rather suddenly. Fifteen years previously, Ian left Sarah to avenge a friend who had died in a terrorist attack, and threw away a future with Sarah in order to pursue terrorists through his work with the FBI.
As Sarah's investigation progresses, more threats against Ian and his ranch occur. These seem to indicate that the culprit(s) may not necessarily be the cattle rustlers that Sarah is trying to arrest. As danger and threats increase against Ian and Sarah, it becomes apparent that they need to investigate all the possible enemies that Ian has made as an FBI agent. They begin to fall in love with each other again as they face the challenges that unfold in the mystery of who is threatening Ian.
I thought that Margaret Daley had the story plotted out well. There was a flashback that was described in Chapter 1 that gave a hint of foreshadowing where the story was going to go. Things are revealed quite logically and I thought that all the facets and threads of the story were tied together quite nicely by the time the novella reached its conclusion.
3) Unshakable Pursuit by Camy Tang
The title really matches up with the story. There was definitely a lot of pursuing in this novella. The protagonists are Dr. Geoffrey Whelan, whose faith in God has been shaken from his time serving in medical missions aid in Japan after the tsunami, and Nurse Maylin Kinley, who has been hurt emotionally by her family and her ex-boyfriend. They are warned to run for their lives by a mysterious woman who promptly disappears after she visits them at the medical clinic they both work at. Shortly after, Geoff and Maylin are threatened by two Asian hitmen who try to abduct them. Our intrepid twosome have no idea who is pursuing them or the reason why they are being hunted down. Their only clue is video footage from the clinic's cameras that reveal some hints about the woman's identity.
There is a rather frantic pace to the story. While Geoff and Maylin need to take precautions to keep the hitmen from pursuing them, they themselves are also in pursuit of their mysterious angel of mercy who has also gone into hiding because she also fears being hunted down by the same people looking for Geoff and Maylin. The reader finds out information at the same time our hero and heroine do, and there are a lot of suspenseful moments and situations thrown their way in such a small window of time. The relationship between our protagonists develop quite quickly too under such intense pressure. Geoff is forced to examine where his relationship with God has gone and is challenged to simply trust Him to keep him and Maylin safe. Maylin realizes that she had been disappointed in the past by people who claimed to be Christians, but finds herself drawn to the love for God that Geoff and his family demonstrate in their lives.
There were moments when the pace and situations of this story had my head spinning over what was happening to our protagonists. However, I liked that this story touched on the struggles that these characters were having in their faith and how they overcome these challenges in this story. I liked Necessary Proof better, another novella written by Camy Tang that appears in First Kisses: Inspy Kisses Collection #1, but Unshakable Pursuit was still pretty good.
4) With Love, Cowboy by Lacy Williams
Ryan Michaels has loved Ashley Reynolds since they were teens. She has returned home to Redbud Trails, Oklahoma, after being discharged from serving as a marine because of injuries which resulted in her arm being amputated. She has struggled with her identity for years; after graduating from high school, she discovered that she had been adopted and questioned who she was. Now with the loss of her arm, she is no longer military and needs to find herself again and figure out what to do with her future. She's just not certain that she wants to find out those things with Ryan.
Ryan has his work cut out for him. Ashley has no idea of all the things that he has done to help her parents while she was serving in the military. He had assumed the position of store manager in order to help keep her parents' business afloat since Ashley's dad developed Alzheimer's. He cooks meals for her parents' twice a week using the excuse that he needs someone to test his recipes. He helps her mother in her recovery from a heart attack by transporting her to medical appointments, etc.. He had been writing letters to her since she started with the marines, informing her of all that he had done, but she did not read any of his letters. As a result, she is under the impression that he is an irresponsible flake and college drop out who is still in a dead end job that he had started when he was in high school.
In spite of all the good that Ryan has done, Ashley is still suspicious of him, especially when she finds out that he had been the lessee of her parents' farmland and notices that he had been altering information on timecards. Has Ryan been taking advantage of her parents? Will she ever read his letters to find out what kind of man he is? Will she ever accept his love for her and love him in return?
With Love, Cowboy was a nice story. Ryan is a sweetheart. How could Ashley not accept Ryan? On the other hand, Ryan might be trying a little bit too hard to win Ashley's affection and Ashley is a gal who is still a bit mixed up. I almost wanted to throttle her for not seeing what a great guy Ryan is. I still enjoyed reading it, though.

Sealed With A Kiss By: Janet Tronstad, Margaret Daley, Camy Tang, and Lacy Williams Mail Order Sunshine Bride By: Janet Tronstad I love a good mail order bride novel and Janet Tronstad has penned another good one. I love the characters and they captured my heart right away.. Widow Eleanor O'Reilly known as Nellie, and her four year old son, Danny has come to Miles city in the Montana Territory late winter 1886 as a mail order bride. She has come a long way and expecting to find her husband to be waiting for her when they got off the train. She only finds this rough looking man with a badge on his coat and a hat pulled low over his eyes. She looks around and finds no Elias Henderson there to meet her and her son. She does not understand. No one will explain to her about Elias and what is going on. I felt sorry for Nellie she has come a long way expecting to be a bride and now he is a no-show. Everyone calls her the Sunshine Bride and wants to see what she looks like. Oh this story is so good and you will need to get yourself a copy to find out about Nellie The Sunshine Bride and does she have anyone to marry. What will she do now.
Deadly Intent By: Margaret Daley Margaret Daley pens another exciting suspense with romance. I liked the two main characters , Sarah and Ian. Sarah is a strong woman and is faced with some dangerous circumstances. She is a Texas Ranger and she knows her job. Sarah and Ian knew each other when they were teens. Ian went his way and now he is back and running his dad's ranch. His horse is missing and they send Sarah to investigate . She is trying to keep Ian safe and also guard her heart.. She will not get her heart broken a second time. Margaret has written a real action packed novel and it grabs you at the start and keeps you guessing what will happen next. I loved this story and I know you will too.
Unshakable Pursuit BY: Camy Tang This is another one of Camy Tang's great action packed novel. I love the characters and it feels like you are right there with them. Dr. Groffrey gets a message one day at the clinic where he works from a woman dressed as a nurse. She warns him and a nurse, Maylin of some danger they are in. Groffrey and Maylin don't know what to think of this message. This novel takes off right at the start and it will have you going through hospitals, and downtown Sonoma, California. There is shooting , homemade dry ice bombs and homemade tear gas bombs. Go with Dr. Groffrey and Maylin as there try to find out who is behind all of this.
With Love, Cowboy By: Lacy Williams I really loved this story and at times I felt like crying. I felt so sorry for Ashley and Ryan the two main characters. Ryan has always had a thing for Ashley ever since they were in school together. She was two years older than him and she thought he was very immature and never took anything serious. Ashley felt like she was betrayed by her parents and she went into the Military. The Military was everything to her. She is now a wounded solider and has come home to start over. Ryan has to let her know that he has changed and he is no longer the man she use to know. He has always loved Ashley , but is it to late? I was given a copy of this book for my honest review, and I have given it.
Sealed with a Kiss is a collection of four novellas. It is a great mixture of various genres and every single story is so very good! Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad is historical fiction, Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley and Unshakeable Pursuit by Camy Tang are both contemporary romantic suspense, and With Love, Cowboy by Lacy Williams is a contemporary romance. All four of these stories are novellas, yet the authors have created characters and stories that have great depth.
Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad is a sweet, mail-order bride story, with a twist. Nellie and Patrick were such likeable characters. Things haven’t always been easy for Nellie and she is trying to do her best for herself and her young son. Watching these two try to figure out what God’s plans for them are was extremely enjoyable.
Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley is full of wonderful romantic tension between the two main characters, Ian and Sarah. These two have a past together, a young romance that in the end left Sarah heartbroken. But they are now forced to spend time together as Sarah tries to figure out why Ian and the farm he has inherited seem to be the target of focused attacks. This is great romantic suspense.
Unshakeable Pursuit by Camy Tang is a very enjoyable romantic suspense, as well. Maylin, a nurse, and Geoffrey, a doctor, are co-workers in a free clinic. But before long, they find themselves thrown together and trying to survive. This novella has some great action and the storyline is really interesting. I really enjoyed learning why these two were running for their lives! Maylin and Geoffrey were also both struggling with deep questions about God and their relationship with Him. They both had a lot of growing to do spiritually in this story and the issues that they each had were deep and hard to overcome. There is a lot of spiritual truth packed into this great novella.
With Love, Cowboy by Lacy Williams is such a perfect way to wrap up this collection. Ryan is definitely a swoon-worthy character! He has such a kind and caring heart. As the story progresses, we see what kind of person Ryan is by the ways he has cared for others. Ashley is home after being gone for ten years in the military. She never really looked at Ryan in a romantic way in the past. Can Ryan convince Ashley that he is the man for her? This is such a sweet story of love and forgiveness.
I received a complimentary copy of this novella collection from the authors in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.
Another is winning anthology from 4 great authors! This time the connection between all the books is that first kiss between the two main characters that really changes things between the two characters. Janet Tronstad writes the first book about a mail-order bride who shows up in Montana territory with her young son only to be met at the train station by the sheriff, not her future groom! Things just go downhill from there as Eleanor finds out more and more about her intended and the circumstances behind the groom not being at the train station. Patrick, the sheriff, finds himself falling for the new mail-order bride and her young son....if he can just show her the he's not dangerous and they have a future! I enjoyed the humor and sweetness in this book!
Margaret Daley continues to write her trademark twisting and turning romantic suspense! Texas Ranger Sarah Osborn gets the assignment to investigate the kidnapping of a prize horse - the catch is that the owner just happens to be her former boyfriend, Ian. The kidnapping is not the only thing that happens though....soon, Ian is the target of some kind of plot to kill him and Sarah intends for that not to happen. I like Margaret's way of keeping the suspense going through the whole story!
Camy Tang keeps the suspense going with her medical drama! Geoffrey receives a mysterious warning from a young woman at a clinic where he is a doctor one day. He has no idea what it means. She warns him and a nurse, Maylin, that they are in danger and need to leave. Why? All of the sudden, 2 fake FBI agents show up and try to attack them! From there, they are on the run. The heart-stopping danger doesn't stop there but continues through the streets of San Francisco and Sonoma, Calif. I love Camy's suspenseful writing. You never know what's going to happen and she uses great secondary characters!
Lacy Williams finishes the anthology with a wonderful cowboy/returning soldier story that is sure to tug at your heart strings. Ryan has been in love with Ashley since high school but he was kind of a joker, immature guy back then. Now, a decade later, he wants her to see that he's changed a lot since then. Ashley, has been severely wounded in combat. She's back home after her recuperation to help her adopted parents with a chip on her shoulder. She doesn't understand what is going on with Ryan. He wrote her every day of her deployment but she never read any of his letters (although she saved them). No wonder she doesn't know any of them changes that he's gone through OR things that have happened to her parents! Will she fall in love with the new Ryan - he sure hopes so!!
Mail-Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad Eleanor “Nellie” O’Reilly arrives in Miles City, Montana Territory with her son. As a widow she saw no other choice beyond the ad for a being a mail-order bride. Elias Henderson seemed to be a stable businessman.
Sheriff Patrick MacDonald ends up with the chore of retrieving the woman and child after Elias gets in a fix. His preconceived idea of her does not match up with the real thing. And he definitely does not seem to fit her idea of a good man. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley Texas Ranger Sarah Osborn has a new case working with an old love. A man who broke her teenage heart fifteen years ago. If she doesn’t find out who is after Ian O’Leary, she could lose him a second time. Permanently.
Ian is a former FBI agent with plenty of men who might want to do him harm. The list of suspects is plenty long and most look pretty guilty. Margaret Daley does a great job of keeping the reader guessing which suspect is the villain. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Unshakeable Pursuit by Camy Tang Dr. Geoffrey Whelan and nurse Maylin Kinley have captured the attention of some bad guys. They have no clue how or why. Only a few warnings and face to face encounters with the thugs. One thing Geoff knows for sure is that he’ll protect this woman with all he has. He won’t fail again...like before.
As always Camy Tang writes a compelling story that has you breathless from running and dodging bullets. Your brain gets a work-out as well as you try and figure out what is happening and who is behind it. Always a great suspenseful romance from this author. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
With Love Cowboy by Lacy Williams Ryan Michaels has been in love with the same girl for twelve long years. He never told her. And now she’s coming back home after being away in the military. Her mission was over and his was going into full attack...to get the girl he loves to fall in love with him.
Ashley Reynolds joined the military after she felt her parents betrayed her. Now her career is over, she no longer knows who she is or what she’ll do. And she wasn’t there for her parents when they needed her. The biggest question of all, what to do about Ryan Michaels? http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
From the old west to present times, this is wonderful collection of short love stories, by four different authors and four different types of story lines. Great read.
1. Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad Nellie headed west in the late winter 1886 for a new life in the Montana Territory as a mail order bride taking her young son Danny with her. But her husband to be had played poker and lost her in a bet and the sheriff wants to take her to jail! Now what is going to happen to her.
I loved the wonderfully developed characters in this story and the amazing story line. Great read.
2. Deadly Intent Margaret Daley Someone wants to put Ian out of business, they poisoned his dog, then steal his prize horse, 5 head of cattle are dead, and they poisoned the water hole. Someone set his barn on fire. And it just keeps getting worse. As a former police officer Ian has along of people that want to hurt him and want him dead. Then into his life walks Texas Ranger Sarah Osborn once the love of his life and someone has taken Sarah hostage. Lots of suspense and action, great characters, I loved it.
3. Unshakeable Pursuit Camy Tang
A young girl shows up at the Childrens Free clinic and wants Drs. Maylin Kinley and Geoffrey Whelan to disappear before they are hurt or killed. Then fake two FBI agents show up, and tries to kidnap them. Now the fake agents are after them, can Geoffrey save them and still win the heart of the only woman he has ever loved? Then they kidnap Maylin!
Lots of suspense, mixed with fires, gun shots, ice bombs, tear gas, martial arts, and more guns makes this book a great read with tons of action.
4. With Love, Cowboy C Lacy Williams Since Ashley joined the military, and worked with Atlas, her dog, her missions were discovering explosive devices, but she never planned on losing a arm when the bomb went off ending her and Atlas's careers.
Now back home in Oklahoma, she faces an uphill battle with her mom's heart attack and her dad forgetting to many things, she now must to learn how to do things for herself. And face the boy with his puppy love for her who now has grown into a man.
This story has the best ending I've read in a long time. Loved the characters, story line, every thing.
This anthology contains something for almost anyone - one historical romance, one contemporary romance, and two mystery/suspense stories with romance added as a bonus. I highly recommend it!
Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad Set in Montana in 1886, this mail order bride story is a winner. Janet Tronstad always seems to come up with the most unusual circumstances to put her characters in. Nellie's strength and personality drive the story as she struggles to take care of her son and understand why her fiance didn't meet the train, and to decide what she is going to do now.
Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley This action packed suspense story has just the right amount of romance mixed in. Sarah and Ian are both strong, enjoyable characters A kidnapping, poisoned animals, and a hostage situation will keep you interested until the end.
Unshakeable Pusuit by Camy Tang Oh my, Camy Tang has a talent for grabbing you immediately and keeping the action going at such a pace that you can hardly turn pages fast enough. Crime rings, fake FBI agents, gunshots, tear gas, ice bombs, martial arts, and fires make sure there is never a dull moment and that the reader never knows what will happen next. Add romance and spirital growth and you have the perfect story.
With Love, Cowboy by Lacy Williams A very sweet, contemporary romance wraps up this Christian anthology. You will be rooting for Ryan as he tries to wait on Ashley to discover that her perception of him is totally wrong. Ashley is a strong, determined young lady, and Ryan is almost too good to be true. Highly enjoyable and satisfying, it is a great ending to the collection.
I was provided with a review copy of this book, but the opinions given are my own sincere reflections.
The stories in this collection all read really fast, and were quite well written.
Janet Tronstad's story is the only historical fiction piece in this collection. It was an interesting take on a mail-order bride story, and a joy to read. The stories pacing was well-done, but the characters felt somewhat flaky and quick to change their minds at times.
Margaret Daley's story had the perfect amount of mystery to keep you reading. The history the main two characters had also added a lovely component to the short story as well. My only complaint on this one was that the story wrapped up a bit too quick.
Camy Tang's story was the longest one in this collection. I felt myself tense as the peril that the characters kept finding themselves in became more and more intense. As with a number of short stories, I think this one could have been made into a full length novel. It was an intriguing story.
Lacy William's story was a sweet ending to this collection. In my opinion, there wasn't a whole lot to keep this story moving forward. It was a slow read. The characters were well done and the concept a nice idea.
Overall, this collection of stories is worth a read. I wish the stories had a bit more in common with each other. The fact that there was one historical, two mysteries, and a contemporary romance involved some jumping around. Each story has it's strong points. A couple of them (can't remember which ones) are companion stories to other novels, but the short stories in this book can be read on their own.
I rarely give a book 5 stars unless a book just is that good. This book has 4 books with in it and from the very first book its amazing and just gets better you are sitting on the edge of your seat wanting to know whats going to happen in each story. The first book and the last book are both very sweet love stories and are well written. The 2 books in the middle are on the edge of your seat kind of books full of action and a little bit of love thrown in. I think the only thing I can say in a negative way is I wish the books were longer. I thought with each book being small they make lack a poor storyline or they leave you hanging. But no that did not happen with any of them, each story had a way of drawing you in a keeping you there from the start to the end. I have only read one author the other 3 are new to me and I can not wait to read more by them. This book is definitely worth buying and you can not go wrong with it. Don't let the title mess with you its not just another Love story.
I was given a copy of this book from netgalley for my honest review
I received an eARC copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. Here is my honest review.
This anthology includes four very sweet, short-story romances. I have found that anthologies like this can be great or just so-so. This collection is well-done!
Each romance is pretty predictable but that isn't necessarily a bad thing; the guaranteed happy ending is why I love romances so much. What I really liked about each story in this collection is the strong female character. They (with the exception of Ashley in With Love, Cowboy) were in tune with their feelings and knew exactly what they wanted from life and went for it. No dithering on their part. Ashley was also a strong character although her story did take more for her to realize what she was wanting. I won't go into specifics because I don't want to spoil anything.
This was an enjoyable collection overall; I liked a couple stories more than the other two. I appreciated the variety of stories, from historical to suspense to contemporary, but all romance! The romances were cute, but there wasn't a whole lot to them, which is understandable for a short story. I liked how some of the characters relate to characters in other books by the authors, but don't have to be read in any particular order. The stories deal with a few different issues, such as low self-esteem, forgiveness, and trusting again. One of the stories stood out as having more of a focus on giving up control to God and believing that He loves us and is always with us, whereas the others had faith more in the background. If you like a variety in your romance, check out this collection!
I received a free kindle copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Sealed With A Kiss is a collection of four books by four different authors. They include: Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad. A historical romance. I love this story of Nellie and Patrick. Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley. A great suspense filled book. A Contemporary Romantic Suspense. I love the interaction between Sarah and Ian. Unshakable Pursuit by Camy Tang. Another Contemporary Romantic Suspense. Great suspense here too. Maylin and Geoffrey are two good, strong characters. With Love, Cowboy by Lacy Williams. A touching Contemporary Romance. Ryan and Ashley has great chemistry. I loved this story. This is a fabulous collection of stories. I loved them all. Highly recommended. 5 stars.
This is a must-read of four great stories by four great authors: Janet Tronstad, Margaret Daley, Camy Tang, and Lacy Williams.
Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad
Eleanor “Nellie” O’Reilly traveled all the way from the east to Miles City, Montana, with her 4-year-old son Danny in the winter of 1886 to meet her future husband, Elias Henderson, a store owner. What a surprise when she is met not by her groom, but by Sheriff Patrick MacDonald and taken straight to jail. Scared and unsure of herself, Nellie finds out her fiancé “lost” her to Sawtooth Jim in a poker game the night before. Now what is she going to do? She is known as the Sunshine Bride, but how can you appear sunny and cheerful in these circumstances? To be free of her debt to Elias (the two train tickets), Nellie must raise $90.00. With the help of the sheriff (who is attracted to her from the beginning) and Mrs. Lilly, Nellie is able to raise the money by making and selling her delicious Cornish pasties. You meet wonderful townspeople, but the sheriff has to confront the Scranton brothers, two escaped outlaws wanted for robbery, while they hold Danny as a hostage. You can probably guess at the happy ending for Nellie and Patrick, but read it for yourself. This is a story you don’t want to miss!
Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley
Margaret Daley is one of the best authors for writing great romantic suspense stories. When Texas Ranger Sarah Osborn is assigned to investigate the kidnapping of a prize stallion, she is forced to meet the horse’s owner, Ian O’Leary, her former boyfriend from 15 years ago. She wasn’t enough to keep him there then, so what will happen now that he is back? And why is he back anyway? Someone is out to kill Ian, but first he does damage to the ranch—the stolen stallion; stolen cattle; poisoned water; a fire in the barn where Ian is almost killed. Sarah and Ian quickly discover they still have feelings for each other, so Sarah is determined to do everything in her power to save Ian from this would-be killer, which puts both of them in danger. The identity of the killer is a surprise—not someone Ian had sent to jail. See how it all works out for Sarah and Ian. I’m sure you’ll love this story from beginning to end the same way I did.
Unshakable Pursuit by Camy Tang

They endure four suspense-filled days with the help and support of Geoffrey’s family, especially his siblings, as they travel between Sonoma and San Francisco seeking answers. However, Maylin is kidnapped by the man behind it all. Find out how Geoffrey rescues her (it’s amazing). Don’t miss this great suspense-filled story!

I received this complimentary book to read and give my honest opinion, which I have done. I would recommend it to everyone.
Sealed With a Kiss is a 4 story anthology of inspirational romances. I enjoyed Sealed With a Kiss because the stories were great. They have a good plot and interesting characters. The authors in Sealed with a Kiss are: Janet Tronstad, Margaret Daley, Camy Tang, and Lacy Williams. The stories are: Mail-Order Sunshine Bride, Deadly Intent, Unshakable Pursuit, and With Love Cowboy. I enjoyed a couple more than I did the others but found them all to be interesting. My favorite stories were: Mail-Order Sunshine Bride and Deadly Intent. I loved the characters and the plots and couldn’t put them down once I started them. I think that each story is a great read if you are looking for a story you can read in one sitting. It was quite easy to read one and then pick it up at another time. It is just as easy to devour it all in one sitting as well.
In Mail-Order Sunshine Bride Nellie a mail-order bride who shows up at her destination to find out that she has been gambled off to another man. She doesn’t have to marry the other man but she needs to figure out what to do. The local sheriff offers to let her and her son Danny stay at the police station until she can figure things out. The more time the two of them spend together the more they are drawn to one another. Will something good come out of the unfortunate situation? Or will she find herself in a worse situation than she already is?
In Deadly Intent Sarah one of the few Texas Rangers that ends up working on a case with her ex-boyfriend. He is an ex-FBI agent and wants to protect her as much as she wants to protect him. The flame that once burned bright is being rekindled as they work closely together. Someone is out to kill him and she is determined to figure it out before it is too late. The closer they get the more danger she is in because the killer has been observing them and they know that he is in love with her. Will they be able to catch the killer before he strikes? Or will one or both of them pay the price?
I really liked Sealed With a Kiss and I will be looking for more books by these authors. In the first book I liked the characters. I thought it was a very cute story. I didn’t identify with the characters simply because I would never be a mail-order bride so I don’t know what their emotions are. I could however understand how she felt once she got there. I liked the Sheriff too. I thought it was very sweet how he wanted to make sure she was taken care of and to warn off all her would be suitors. In the second book I loved the fact that Sarah was a very strong female lead. I found it refreshing that she was a Texas Ranger. I have never read a story like that. The power struggle between her and her ex was kind of funny. Just because you were FBI and she is a Texas Ranger didn’t mean that there should be a battle of wills. In the third story I liked the characters. I liked that Geoffrey and Marilyn didn’t click right away. I like that there was a past and that she had rebuffed any of his advances. I like that they came together years later and were facing danger together. I thought it made the building chemistry between them more believable. In the fourth story I liked the chemistry between Ryan and Ashley. I liked that he finally stepped up to the plate to tell her how he felt. I didn’t like the fact that she had to get hurt before he did so. I can understand that he was scared to get his heart broken and that there may have been other reasons as well but I think not telling someone is the wrong move to make. I also liked that there was a Christian undertone to each of the stories. Some had more of it than others but they were all very inspirational in some way or another. I would recommend Sealed With a Kiss to anyone who enjoys inspirational stories.
I am not sure if I have read any books by these authors before so this was a great surprise -- I will definitely read more books from all 4 of these authors in the future. This book is a collection of 4 short stories by 4 different authors:
Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad Nellie is a 24-year-old widow from Boston who comes on the train with her 4-year-old son to Montana Territory to marry Elias Henderson. Instead of meeting the loving man she was expecting, she is met by Patrick MacDonald, the sheriff. Apparently Elias had wagered his sunshine bride away in a poker game that he was sure he was going to win, and the sheriff is trying to sort it all out -- without losing his own heart to the sunshine bride. Nellie's first marriage was to a man who valued drinking, gambling and fancy women more than family and so she doesn't trust herself to marry for love again.
Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley Sarah Osborn and Ian O'Leary were in love once upon a time. Until Ian joined the FBI and ran away to Houston to keep the country safe from tourists. Now Sarah has been a Texas Ranger for 15 years and Ian has come back to run his family ranch. Sarah is asked by the sheriff to investigate Ian's stolen stallion because the sheriff suspects there is more to the case than just a stolen horse. Sarah can't shake the feeling that they are missing something on the case, and it isn't long before they discover how much danger they are really in. Can Sarah and Ian save each other?
Unshakable Pursuit by Camy Tang Maylin Kinley is a nurse who feels like she doesn't belong anywhere. Geoffrey Whelan is doctor who needs to heal; he has never recovered from the time he spent in Japan when the tsunami took the lives of some of his family members. One day Geoff receives a warning that he and Maylin need to disappear. Before he even has a chance to tell Maylin they are told the FBI wants to talk to them... Before they know it they are on the run trying to figure out who is after them and why, and trying to stay alive! This was an action-packed story. I felt like I was in the story with Geoff and Maylin trying to figure out why anyone was after them and then trying to figure out how to stop them.
With Love, Cowboy by Lacy Williams Ryan Michaels has driven the same truck for 10 years, worked at the same job since he was in high school, and loved the same woman for 12 years. He has loved Ashley Reynolds since he was 14 years old and she was 16 years old. But Ashley has never taken him seriously. And she has grossly underestimated him. Ashley joined the Marines, but when she survives a roadside bombing she loses her arm and her identity as a soldier. When she returns home, Ryan meets her at the airport with lots of surprises for her. Ryan is a man on a mission... he plans to make her fall in love with him, even if there are more roadblocks than he had planned on.
Content: Clean, no swearing I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Patrick meets the sunshine bride at the train station to let her know there's been a problem come up in connection to her marrying Elias, the man she's promised to. During the couple of days that it takes to resolve the issue, he falls for her himself.
Nellie lost her husband and the father of her son to 'adventure'. She has no desire to saddle herself to a gun toting man. But when something happens that shows her how kind hearted Patrick is, she realizes he's just the man for her.
Deadly Intent: Margret Daley
Sarah and Ian spent years apart when Ian's friend was killed by a terrorist and Ian put his whole life into hunting down terrorists with the FBI. Sarah had planned on being a part of his life but when he disappeared, she went into the criminal justice field and is now a Texas Ranger. When Ian's prize stallion comes up missing, the Sheriff asks Sarah to look into it in connection with some cattle rustling that has been going on and Ian and Sarah find themselves thrown together again. There are issues to resolve, forgiveness needed and some decisions to make.
I really enjoyed this story and it was a great addition to the Sealed with a Kiss boxed collection.
Unshakable Pursuit: Camy Tang
Wow, crazy action. This story was full of suspense and crazy people. Revenge always makes people do crazy things. Maylin has spent most of her life feeling like she's not enough. Her family is disappointed in her decisions, and her co-workers think she's strange.
Geoffrey feels a lot of guilt from not being with his family member when tragedy struck and he thinks he could have caused a different outcome. When Maylin and Geoffrey find themselves being chased by fake FBI guys and don't have a clue why, life gets crazy for them. It takes a lot of people working together the figure out what is going on, but finally they are able to get things untwisted enough to see what's going on.
With Love, Cowboy: Lacy Williams
Wow. Very emotional tender story. Ryan had been in love with Ashley for years. Though he's two years younger, that's never mattered to him. Through school and after she went off to the military, he's been there waiting for her to return his love. When she returns after an accident that ends her military career, she's angry with him for all the things he "kept" from her. All the things he wrote in letters to her that she never read because... Well, you have to read to find out why she never read them. But in the end she decides he's a good guy with a good heart.
Mail-Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad / ** When mail-order bride, Eleanor O’Reilly, arrives in the Montana Territory the only one on the railway platform to greet her is a dangerous-looking man who claims to be the sheriff. Where is her intended husband? Janet Tronstad delights readers with another of her popular mail-order bride stories.
Deadly Intent by Margaret Daley / *** Texas Ranger Sarah Osborn is sent to investigate the kidnapping of a prize stallion from the Shamrock Ranch, owned by Ian O’Leary, an ex-FBI agent and Sarah’s high school sweetheart. Someone from Ian’s past has a grudge against him and intends to make him suffer. Can Sarah help Ian find who wants him dead?
Unshakeable Pursuit by Camy Tang / A mysterious young woman warns Dr. Geoffrey Whelan and nurse Maylin Kinley that they are in mortal danger, and then two Asian hit men attack them at the children’s clinic where they work. With Love, Cowboy by Lacy Williams / ** When the love of his life is injured in combat, Ryan Michaels promises himself he won't let any more time go by without declaring his love. Veteran Ashley Reynolds returns home a changed woman, but is she ready to see the truth about the cowboy she left behind?
I have to say that I sure do love this growing trend of bundled ebooks, both full length and novella size, by various authors. It gives variety at an awesome price and you get to know authors that you maybe haven't read yet. In this collection, you also get some different genres of romance. The first is old west, followed by two that have more suspense. The last is a contemporary western. It's fun to have that change up.
This was a fantastic novella collection. I loved settling in with these stories. They were the perfect sweet, clean romance stories for me. And, if I had to pull out a favorite, it was With Love, Cowboy. I fell in love with Ryan. Who wouldn't?! That guy is perfection.
These novellas are the perfect bite size reads. If you don't have much time or you just want a quick romantic fix, try these out, one at a time. Or, if you are more like me, you can read them all, straight through. Read = Devour
The novellas are short, simple reads. There is nothing dramatic or deep. But they are all enjoyable and clean romances.
I suppose that these would be considered "twaddle" reading. There is no deep and meaningful theme running through them. But I occasionally enjoy some easy reading for entertainment. And the stories in Sealed With a Kiss fit the bill.
The stories are inspirational romances, meaning that they have some sort of spiritual references within the lives of the characters. But they aren't overtly "preachy" or religious. The characters usually come to some realization about trusting God, but the novellas don't dwell on spiritual things.
I like the novellas because they are short, easy reads- most can be read in one sitting. And I appreciate the sweet and touching, clean romances.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this anthology in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are entirely my own, and I was not compensated in any other way.
Sweet romance that provides plenty of different settings and plot makes Sealed with a Kiss an interesting read. There is something for everyone in this collection. The suspense stories by Margaret Daley and Camy Tang were very good. If historical romance is, your thing to read Mail Order Sunshine Bride by Janet Tronstad is also well done. My favorite again was the contemporary story by Lacy Williams, just as it was in the first collection. The military-cowboy story, With Love, Cowboy, begins with loss but ends with love. I loved it.
While all of these novellas have romance at the heart of them, they have different themes as well as different settings and types of romance. All are uplifting without being preachy.
I love short stories because my job and family keep me very busy. With books like this, I can read a story in less time and enjoy it more. This anthology did not disappoint me. I loved that it had a variety of genres instead of all being the same. This book includes: one historical romance; two mysteries and a contemporary romance.
The stories all are well written with characters that I enjoyed reading about. Since they are Christian books, there aren't any x-rated scenes and in a world that has come to include sexual situations everywhere, I for one really appreciate the absence of them.
I highly recommend this book and think it would appeal to anyone who enjoys Christian fiction books.
Sealed with a Kiss is a delightful anthology by a wonderfully talented group of inspirational authors!
From historical to contemporary, each novella was a pleasure to read! I adored Janet Tronstad’s mail-order bride story. Margaret Daley and Camy Tang kept me in suspense with lots of excitement and hold-your-breath moments. Lacy Williams warmed my heart with her endearing love story.
I loved Sealed with a Kiss and look forward to reading more from these great authors!
I received a complimentary copy of Sealed with a Kiss. All thoughts expressed are my own and no monetary compensation was received.
Though somewhat predictable, this inspirational romance is still an enjoyable story. I like mail-order bride stories, but it's hard to come up with a unique plot for such stories. This one does have one or two twists, but what I really like about it is the characters. They are all well-developed and not at all dull...very likable, even the cantankerous ones. An engaging and sweet romance story.
I enjoyed all the stories in this anthology, but my favorites were the two romantic suspense as that is a favorite genre. I don't always enjoy historical Western romance, but I did like the one in this book. And the contemporary romance was fun. The importance of faith in the stories varied, but all were clean and appropriate for any age.
This is a wonderful collection of stories and I enjoyed each one. For me this is unusual there is usually one I don't like. I would recommend this to anyone.
I only read the first book, but it was pretty good. I didn't realize it was a novella, and I'm don't like them all that much. But the story line was good.
