Another Pixiv success story! This one is a surprise for me because of the humor and the plot twist! For once, even though I half-predicted it, I was taken aback when the turning point happened! I sorta wished that they built up the Demon King and the Hero's inner characters a little bit more before it did. Maybe more inklings for their romance as well.
Yet I'm grateful that the agreement between the two leads also attempts to smooth out many bumps that are often in fantasy settings. Primarily the biggest one: you kill the big bad to end a centuries long war, but will that actually bring peace to the world? That's what I liked Baseu challenging, through a rather realistic and pragmatic lens that isn't always explored in fiction (or BL!). It's only six chapters long, but that's a lot to accomplish in such a short frame. Looking forward to finding extras or other works that Baseu will do in the future.
