Rate this book
Where do you hide when the world is searching for you?

Dr. Maeve Leander and Captain Chris Garrigan are trusting Tilda Watson to keep Alvie, the triplets, and their expanding circle of fugitives safe. Not that they have much choice.

With dangerous forces within the U.S. government chasing them down, their list of safe harbors is down to an island long thought to be only myth.

But this new hiding spot is not as secure as it seems. For a new threat has entered the field of battle, a threat not of this Earth. And in this new existence, allegiances are as deadly and changeable as quicksand under their feet.

R.D. Brady is the bestselling author of over 60 science-based thrillers, cryptid adventure novels, and mythological conspiracy series that blend real-world science with nonstop action.

With a Ph.D. in Criminology and a professional background in counterterrorism and behavioral science, R.D. brings expert insight to her fast-paced fiction. Her stories are known for featuring fierce female leads, ancient secrets, and cutting-edge research that challenges what we think we know about science, history, and the unknown.

She is best known for the long-running Belial Series, a fan-favorite that explores archaeological mysteries and supernatural revelations—and continues with the high-stakes Belial Rebirth Arc.

R.D. is also the author of The Ancestral Code Series, starting with Hominid, a cryptid-meets-science thriller that reimagines the Bigfoot legend. Her other popular works include the A.L.I.V.E. Series, The Unwelcome Trilogy, and the latest addition, the Shadow Directive series, including Predator Dominion.

Whether it's a global genetic conspiracy, an ancient civilization buried beneath modern myths, or a killer storm trapping a wrongly accused man, R.D.'s books deliver the adrenaline, mystery, and emotional depth that fans of Michael Crichton, Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child, and James Rollins crave.

When not writing, R.D. teaches martial arts, runs with her dogs, and tends to her garden. Under the pen name Sadie Hobbes, she also writes sharp, fast-paced urban fantasy thrillers.

RISE is no different than the first two in the series. Maeve at one point thinks to herself that she wouldn't have believed in aliens and UFOs if not for DEAD. So I'm guess ALIVE just skipped her mind. Or the fact that she grew up with an alien. So no of course she wouldn't believe in them.

And then there is all of the mystery with none of the reveal. Leslie is still missing, you never even get a hint of Martin's daughter, and the big reveal never happened. So much for world changing. If it was the author is keeping it a closely guarded secret. I'm getting really fed up with all of the "we will explain everything" while there is no explaining going on.

I'm beginning to think the author was not told that if you mention something in a book, you'd better be able to back it up and not just ignore the fact that you wrote it in in the first place.

Since the fourth book isn't out yet... I don't think I care to read anymore sloppy story telling.

This has been a facinating series and I cannot wait to read what I think is the last in the series? S.A.V.E. I enjoyed the continuing character developement/maturing and the explainations of some of the origins. Great planning to introduce information as we hurtle towards a possible conclusion or maybe another tack altogether. Loved it and will read the next one soon(I have just ordered it)

Need a proifreader

I enjoy the books but a proof reader is really needed.

The errors are so distracting. But the books are fun and fast moving.

DNF - too many believability issues

1. RISE knew about the Draco.
2. The Draco have been on earth for 100s years
3. After the main RISE base is scouted by a single Draco, the next day the base (supposedly the most advanced in the world) is caught basically off guard by an attack.
4. They have no weapons that are effective against the Draco. The do not try sabot rounds, grenade launchers, armor piercing rounds, rail guns, .50 caliber rounds or anything else. So not only did they not use technology available today, they had no futuristic tech that let them detect or fight the Draco.

It’s not believable that the humans don’t use the available weapons Or that they wouldn’t have been prepared with everything in their arsenal after the scouting mission. It requires their leaders and people to be incompetent. Same with leaving the high value targets in an exposed location.

Fantastic Read!

RD Brady has produced yet another reason for me to list her as one of my two favourite authors in the speculative science fiction genre. The A.L.I.V.E series continues with R.I.S.E seamlessly with all of our favourite characters making appearances along with fleshing out some new ones who have only been touched on in previous books.
I thoroughly recommend this book to those who have read the first two novels in the series, if you havent, read them then get a copy of R.I.S.E! I promise you wont be disappointed!
Thanks RD for the ongoing entertainment!

Live to fight another day!

What a ride! This is my fourth book of this series (I am including the prequel, B.E.G.I.N.)
Strong characters. Nasty reptilian aliens, cute cuddly baby aliens and Ig and thank the high for Sammy.
The character's have now evolved into a family, and you can't help but pray the good guys are strong enough to last for the next novel.
Adore this author.
Grab your drink, the book and your laser gun in case you have to help save this family group!

Fantastic Series

Since it had been a while between the publication of the last book and this book, I decided to go back a read the first two again. (By the way...I have no idea why the title B.E.G.I.N. appears as a book in this series, because it is not and I don’t even know what it is.. 🤔). Wonderful story line which never lags. I am so excited knowing there is another book in the works!

I've read all three books in this trilogy and in 4days time.it was that enthralling, I literally could not put it down.very endearing characters and action packed plot line.I can't remember the last time that I was this engrossed in a novel of series of novels. I don't want to be a spoiler, so I'll just say you won't regret this read. Kudos to the author.

A Compelling Series

This series was absolutely fascinating. I loved all of the characters and plot line. I also absolutely loved all of the facts and research that went into it and the breakdown at the end of each book

Book 3

Due to length of time between books it took me a while to catch up but once I did. I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for S.A.V.E. One of the better series I have read. Action packed .
