This book is written by a friend of mine who is a lovely Christian woman. This was my first book to read by her, and there is a sequel in the works for this book which I can hardly wait to get my hands on. Learning to live tells the story of two people who lives have been shattered by the loss of their spouses. Through their faith in Christ, they grow closer and soon find themselves in love, but something is keeping them from carrying their relaltionship further.....Something that God forbids and causes them to pause and consider the consequences of continuing their growing relationship. I highly recommend this book to all!
This is McKay's first book and it's a good one. Her writing is solid and her characters are fully fleshed out. She takes a tough topic and hits it hard. Don't assume you know how it's going to end at any point except the last few pages!
Be sure and have a box of tissues nearby because there are couple of scenes that where you'll need them. Women's fiction is definitely McKay's calling.
This book started out all right. Vicky was recovering from a car jacking in which her husband had been killed . She lived with her aunt in an inn. Clay is a former cop who did handyman work around the inn. The two fell in love . When Vicky met Nick, tge cop involved in crime, they became good friends . Clay's estranged wife came back to town which complicated things. The book started to turn into a bit of a soap opera which us annoying .
This sequel to Learning to Live Again, did not disappoint the reader. Beautifully written and a pleasing ending of the struggles of the characters in the first book.
