Disclaimer: I was given a copy of Grading Him by the author in exchange for nothing more than an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Luna and Josephine are roommates and best friends too. They enjoy going out and are always on the hunt foe their next guy. The thing with Luna and Josephine is that when they find their next guy, they grade him. Not in terms of 1 to 10 but like a teacher would grade a test paper; i.e. D,C,B,A,A+ etc.
On this particular night Luna and Josephine (Jo) are out with a couple of friends; who aren't exactly fun to be around. Jo is at, well behind, the bar after giving the barman what for over her drink when she meets Pierce.
Pierce is a smoking hot guy and Jo is practically drooling at him, in all honesty so was I!! Jo is itching to get Pierce into bed so she can see what grade he will score.
This is a great quick read. I enjoyed reading about Jo and Pierce. I'd love to know what the future has in store for them. There is a whole load of chemistry between these two, its there right from the beginning. Its this chemistry that has me wondering just what the future may have in store for them.
Each character has emotion and passion in them and when they are together they seem to draw more passion out of each other. Jo is a strong and confident woman who isn't afraid to go after what she wants. Pierce is very likable, he's not controlling, not that I think he could even if he wanted to, and seems to treat Jo well.
I do have just one question though, what happened to Luna?
This is my first book by Elizabeth Lynx and I don't think it will be my last. I really did enjoy reading Grading Him. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a quick dose of something a little steamy!!!

Thank you to Elizabeth for sending me a copy of this book for review! I was intrigued from reading the blurb and decided to read it straight away!
The story is very short but it gives you the perfect insight into the start of Josephine and Pierce’s ‘relationship’. I love that it is written all in one night and we get a view of the events from both characters. This allows you straight away to fall for both of them. There is so much emotion, passion and reality in each character and I was sucked in from the first paragraph.
I usually hate the male characters in books like this but Pierce is different, although he first comes across as a bit of a player, he is not controlling as you find almost all male characters are, that is what I hate! Instead he is very like-able and treats Josephine really well. Josephine is a strong, confident woman who although is completely obsessed by Pierce keeps him on his toes and has him falling at her feet. I love this idea of having the woman as the stronger character because you don’t often find this and it shows women can be just as powerful as men!
I finished this book in an hour and loved it! Elizabeth completely leaves you wanting more and I don’t want to have to wait until September for the next part (a month is just too long)! I know I will be wishing the days away until then! I would recommend this book to anybody! It is a short, sexy and completely addictive read! Elizabeth is definitely a writer to watch out for! She gets a well deserved 5 stars from me! Hurry up September!

With the opening of this new novella series we meet Jos and her best friend Luna as they are getting ready to go out to the clubs for the night. They both are looking for their A+ men. Both in bed and out. They have no idea what is waiting for them at the club. Pierce and his two best friends are at a club in town looking for their usual one night stand hook-ups. When Pierce sees a woman dumb her drink all over the bar he knows he has to meet here. What he wasn’t prepared for was the woman that would show him what it mean to meet the perfect woman.
Pierce is rich and commitment free. He usually looks for the one night stand and then kicks them out the minute the fun is over. But underneath all of that is a sweet and caring man. Jos is sassy and independent. She knows that she wants in bed and out and she isn’t willing to settle for a man that is not willing to woo her. Jos and Pierce’s relationship starts out as a one night stand what happens is so much more. I really liked the beginning of this novella series. Jos knows who she is and what she wants and she isn’t afraid to demand it. I am looking forward to reading more.

I did receive this book in exchange for an honest review.
I got through about 20 pages of it. I found Jos to be a snotty bitch and completely unrealistic in terms of women. Women don't tend to tell a man in a club hallway that she wants him to do her long and hard in front of a bunch of people, as if it is part of her normal speech pattern.
Maybe I will come back to this one.

Once again I got lured in by the cover. That is one hot cover!
Now as far as the story goes there were pros and cons. The pros were the sex. The erotic parts were well done.
However I didn't really like the characters. They came across as arrogant and just unpleasant. The female and her friends go around "grading guys" and come across as slutty and egotistical. (I know guys sometimes do the same thing and it's just as bad or worse then, just an irritating thing to do.) Also the dialogue just didn't feel "real" to me, at least when the two MC's were talking. Some of the dialogue between the friends was more natural. Plus there was some of that insta-love going on which can be annoying at times. Finally it was a little odd that the characters had a prior connection that just seemed a little too convenient (this could possibly be explained in later volumes.)
Overall not bad and I bet the series gets better as it goes and you get to know the characters better.

This was a very well written short story. This had suspense, flirting, and plenty of hot sex all rolled into one story. What more could a girl want? Nothing on this end.
The characters Luna and Josephine roommates and best friends. They have this "game" they do when meeting a guy and taking him home to bed. They rate him! Both girls are looking for a guy who can score a HUGE A++++ but that has yet to happen.
They go out with another couple who are friends but are not real fun people to be around. Josephine is a strong, confident woman who knows what she wants and can't wait to have whatever or whoever she wants! She meets Pierce, who is so damn flipping sexy, she is practically drooling at him. She can't wait to get him into bed and see how he rates. Who knows maybe he could be the perfect A she has been looking for all her life.
You can feel the chemistry that Josephine and Pierce have right off the bat. They seem to play off each other's flirtations. I love the way their relationship starts off and the hotter they get, the more I want to see them together. I sure hope there is a sequel coming soon. I really need to read more about them and see where their passionate night leads too.
My only real problem is Luna. You get introduced to her and it looks like she hooks up also for the night but nothing is really said what happened to Luna. I would really like to get to know her better and see if she finds her perfect A.

Unfortunately, this series was very disappointing to me. The synopsis sounded great, and overall I liked the basic plot of the story. The steamy scenes are hot, but at times, they bothered me because of the personalities of the main characters. However, there were indeed moments where I enjoyed the story, but they were few and far in between. This is the only reason it got bumped up to two stars.
Grading Him started out with great potential. IN the beginning, I liked Jos and Luna, but the moment she met Pierce, her character began to drop for me. She seems to be quite the pessimist, always expecting the worst from Pierce, then being pleasantly surprised when he surpasses her expectations. When Pierce asks to see her again, I couldn’t believe that she would make him “work” just to get a date with her. Seriously, how can you know anything about a person without spending time together? Make him work for your affections through dates.
Pierce is such a contradiction. So much so, that his character is not believable. He has alpha tendencies, and yet he is pretty insecure.
This installment is 75% sex, so it’s pretty hot and we only really get a glimpse of their personalities. We also, get to meet Corbin and Luna, who have their own book, and I am far more interested in their story.

If you are you looking for an intense, erotic short novel with a cliff hanger, this is the book for you. Are you looking for two strong leads that are who they are, and show the intense sexual desire needed for this book, well you have it. This book gives you all of that and more. The author does a great job of what she wanted to do, make an intense, erotic romance that it could me more than just a one night stand. The normal is out in this book, but your imagination can run wild.
Jos is a great character. Shes strong, independent, and knows what she wants. Right now she wants a great night of sex. So going to the bar is where she expects to find him. Well after a crappy drink and an offer that the bartender can't refuse, she gets her drink and I guy who thinks she's a bartender. Pierce and strong, fierce, takes no prisoner type meets his match with jos. He gives, she takes, and well they explode. The strong sexual attraction makes the rest of this book go fast. Problem is pierce likes her so much that he wants more than one night, so jos proposes some wooing and well he will have to find her.
Great start to the series and I can't read the next one. Sent from my NOOK

We follow Josephine or Jo as her friends call her. Jo and her best friend Luna like to grade men on their performance in bed like A+, A, B, C etc.
Jo and Luna are on a night out with 2 of their boring friends. Jo asks Luna to get her a drink, when Luna brings it back, it's not to Jo's taste. She likes everything a pacific way. She takes it back to the bar and ends up persuading the bartender to let her behind the bar to make her own drink. Then she meets Pierce. He is hot and Jo wants to get him into bed to grade him.
I did enjoy this book. It was a quick and easy read. I didn't really like Pierce. For me he seemed to submissive and Jo was more of the dominate character in this book. I do like a strong female character but I think she was just that strong that she over shadowed Pierce.

Grading Him and Reaching Her by Elizabeth Lynx were HOT!!! Josephine is a sassy, sexy chick that doesn't really seem to be bothered by her Love Em and Leave Em lifestyle. After all, she's just looking for that one man that can earn a passing grade. Who wants to waste time getting to know someone, investing your heart, sweat and tears into someone just to find out that in the bedroom they're just... EH... Seriously, we've all been there I'd imagine...find someone that you just KNOW is gonna be IT...the one that's over the top better than anyone who's come before and BLAH...
Jos and her bestie are out having drinks when she finds Pierce (or rather he finds her after watching her dump a drink over the bar) and one thing leads to another...that's all part of Grading Him...4 Stars

Who wants to waste time getting to know someone, investing your heart, sweat and tears into someone just to find out that in the bedroom they're just... EH... Seriously, we've all been there I'd imagine...find someone that you just KNOW is gonna be IT...the one that's over the top better than anyone who's come before and BLAH...
Jos and her bestie are out having drinks when she finds Pierce (or rather he finds her after watching her dump a drink over the bar) and one thing leads to another...that's all part of Grading Him...4 Stars

Erotic story of a strong woman who meets a hot man in a bar. She only does one night stands - and she grades the men she sleeps with.
So she does have fabulous sex with the guy and sleeps over, just long enough to decide that she might want to see him again...but then she wants to make him work for it.
Was not a fan of the writing style or the back and forth POVs or the grammar issues and typos or the back and forth present tense/past tense in the same paragraph. We also don't learn enough about Jos or Pierce... just snippets. And I suppose that's similar to what you might get from a one night stand. Jos seems strong, but I'm not sure why the need for one nighters, so I'm hoping that's explored.
I'm curious as to where this is headed though, so I'll keep reading.

Josephine Powell is a professor of psycology at a local college. Pierce Taylor is a self made success. He has risen from the slums to a position of power and now he works for a charity to help inner city kids. They both like to take what they want when it comes to a relationship. They both believe in one night and one night only. This book does contain profanity and a lot of sexual scenes. Its not really my kind of book but the story line is good. If this offends you this book is not for you. Jos meets Pierce in a club and she thinks he is handsome and smart, but she is smart also and she wants him on her terms. They have a wild night together and she leaves leaving him just a clue about her. She feels if he is smart enough he will find her. this is the first book of three

A very interesting start to a series. I love that Josephine goes after what she wants and doesn't take no for an answer. She is strong and is the perfect character for this type of story. I like Pierce. He is sexy and seems fun but, he is almost too juvenile for a character like Josephine. I hope that he gets to her level in the next one. This is super short and kind of leaves you hanging. But, in a good way. I can't wait to see if Pierce can figure out the clue. I do wish that Josephine would have given him just a little more. It will be hard for him to put 2 and 2 together when he only has one 2. So I am pulling for him and looking forward to the next installment.

When he spots Jos across the bar, he thinks he's found another quick lay. Much to his shock and surprise, she's not so quick to fall for his charm!
I really enjoyed this book. It's nice to see a little role-reversal every now and then!

Lovely
I dont usually like short stories, this one hooked me. I like the characters and found myself smiling and getting a great visual picture. As an artist, visual connections in books are important to me. I first found Elizabeth Lynx on Facebook I hadn't heard of this book, but instantly liked her personality, some indie authors are very outputting on line, Elizabeth was very open, so I quickly added her book to my short list, so glad I did. I can't wait for the rest of the journey and like that I'm more excited than emotionally gutted waiting to read more. Superb.

Our main characters are the one night stand kind of people, but when they get together everything is so passionate they don't want to let go. How can two people who are so use to having one night admit they want more? Or will they let a good opportunity slip by out of fear? I really enjoyed this novella.

Book one introduces Pierce and Jos - a very cool couple and I loved getting to know them. Jos is an amazing character and I love how she can steal a scene and totally make it her own. Her grading system is fun and she has some very strict requirements for each level. They are exactly what the other has been looking for, but Jos is going to make Pierce really work for it. I loved it all.

HOT HOT HOT! Unfortunately, it's a serial and this is only part one and we are definitely left hanging on the proverbial edge as this intensely hot beginning of what promises to be a flame of a story! The characters are awesome, abrupt and outspoken, down to earth and truly know what it is they want, just not a relationship, or so they think! The author has taken this story and brought us to the extreme edge, panting for more as the suspense of what will happen between Pierce and Jos, as they slowly discover things about themselves they never thought possible. Excellent story, but I want more now please!

This little book is super fun and fast to read. The only downer here is NO CLOSURE. It's one of those -here get a taste -and then go by more of my books. Suck! I'd rather pay another 1-2 bucks and have the whole story. Honestly I don't know if there is enough of a story here to make 2 books but what is in the first book is really fun and flirty and hot. A few things that made me twitchy, for example-Jos know's she's hot but has no fashion sense so her friend that doesn't sleep around has to dress her but she is uber confident and only uses men for sex??? Little bothersome tidbits like that but not enough to deter from the fun of the book.
