"She will recover, Theodore," Asher assured me with a somber, understanding look, causing me to scoff.
"Sure, she'll recover! But what about me?" I challenged, tilting my head towards him as he took a deep breath.
"You'll get through this, Theo," he murmured with such gentleness that I envied his composure.
"I won't make it without her," I slumped back into my chair, my hands trembling uncontrollably, missing her presence to steady me.
