If you’ve read my review of book 1, nothing changed… except the fact that somehow the author managed to make this book too slow and too rushed at the SAME TIME. I don’t even know how it’s possible, but apparently it is.
I need to stop reading weird books and start reading literature I can actually publicly review, cause I swear this infatuation of mine with these strange ass books keeps me from writing the reviews I wish to write on here. BUT I'm no coward, and, as I've already rated book 1 of this 'unique' series, nobody will stop me from rating this 4 stars. Right here out in the open!
(But also don't judge me too harshly 'cause I'm actually really insecure)
ANYWAYS
Where Bonds of Fate is actually a prequel of some sorts to the story of Nix and his pack, Bonds of Fate really is where the story and their relationship kicks off. Where Book 1 wasn't too spicy, Bond of Fate was like a Thai Curry. There was a lot of catching up to do between the pack and Nix. I had a blast discussing this book series with my omega-buddy Ptolemea, and actually comitted myself to fanart ( I should've commited myself to a mental institution probably).
Rowan is still my favorite pookie, and Gideon is The Boss. Luca is allright and Leo has my heart. Jamie, Finn and Greyson were also there. Greyson got a bit more spotlight in this book but meh, idk, he isn't working for me. Which is fine cause there's PLENTY of MC's left lol.
This sequel lost a bit of the urgency from the first book, and I did miss that. It's implied that Nix couldn't escape his captivity because Haynes had a secret on him, or threatened family maybe. Except in this sequel that plottwist is not explained anymore. There's more wearker point and plotholes here and there, but ya know, you're not reading this for the plot.
So, in a relatively short amount of time, you’re whole life has changed: you’re no longer human, your abuser is in jail, you’ve been reunited with the love of your life, you’ve discovered your the fated mate to six other gorgeous men, and now you wake up and you’re in an absolutely lovely house that’s fancier than any you’ve ever stepped foot in before. What’s the first thing you do?
You’ll have to read Bonds of Fate to figure out how Nix Rena handles it.
Bonds of Fate starts immediately after the end of book one in the Fated in the Stars trilogy, Threads of Fate, the morning after the Rhodes Pack finally gets to bring Nix home from the hospital. Everyone thought the ordeal was over, that they could all get right to integrating Nix into the pack and bonding while they waited for Nix’s abuser to go to trial. You know what they say about making plans, though…
Bonds of Fate brings everything to the table that Threads of Fate was missing by virtue of the fact that Nix spent almost the whole book unconscious and it was set almost entirely in the hospital and yet you get even more of those sweet, deep, affectionate polyamory bonds that weave throughout each and every dynamic within the pack. The emotional depth and strength of this pack, along with their deep knowledge of one another, is something wholly necessary and used consistently and often throughout this book as they come across one new development or obstacle after another and have to navigate their way through each one together for the happiness and health of everyone.
Are there slip-ups? Yes. Not everyone’s perfect. Emotions are running high, frustration is getting in the way of instincts, and the urge to protect and sacrifice is strong. That’s the great thing about having so many people around to love you: They’ll catch you when you fall and help you find a better way.
Tides of Fate, the third book, is going to be even more awesome and show more sides of this pack. But for now, enjoy this period where Nix gets to know the Rhodes Pack as they court him and help him find out who he is as a were. Enjoy the huge amount of spice and please make sure to read the front matter and the addendum at the back that Bishop included on secondary gender as it pertains to the Fated in the Stars universe. 5⭐️

I was provided a copy of this title by the author. All thoughts, opinions, views, and ideas expressed within are mine and mine alone. Disclosure: I did personally work on this title as a proofreader and sort-of beta reader, as well as an ARC reader prior to the time when it went out to other ARC readers. I also read this material when it was still in serialized format. Thank you.

"people with vagina" "how do people with vagina do it" just say women man. is it hard to call women women? we are not just "people with vagina" so disappointing to see these phrases being used for women. stop dehumanising women.
This pack of seven is pulling on my heartstrings. This book is every bit as good as the first one in this series. Nix is adjusting to his new life, but the old one is completely done with him and his mates just yet. Now they have some serious decisions to make and the ripples of their actions are going to spread far and wide. This book is sweet and schmoopy, hot and sexy and spicy and full of love and laughter. Don’t get me wrong, it has some very serious moments but I have faith that Fate won’t let these guys down. I also love how the polyamorous relationships of this pack are represented. They are all present and part of the group and very much in love. Some are more deeply connected to others but they all share one strong bond. Absolutely beautiful story and I can’t wait to see how it ends.
Bonds of Fate is the second book in the Fated in the Stars series. This series should be read in order. We are back with the Rhodes Pack. This book starts just after the first book ended. Nix has so much to learn about his new life and what it means to be an omega. The bonds in the pack are put under stress from what will happen to Nix's abuser. I loved learning about how the pack feels. We were given some new information but I won't share it because it's a spoiler. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and series as 5 star reads.
The “rewinds” are killing me otherwise I think I’d be enjoying myself. Also, in the very first chapters of book 1, there was mention of something Hayes had over Nix and that was why he never sought out help or escape but that seems to have been forgotten. It’s really itching deep in my head, don’t know how long I can ignore it before it ruins my enjoyment
This book is not a standalone so please read book 1 so you can fully enjoy everything this series has to offer.
Tensions and emotions ran high in the pack. Nix’s one decision has the pack divided and my heart ached for them. I was so proud of Nix - for being brave. It took guts to do what he wants to do. The path he’s chosen isn’t an easy one and the toll it’s taking on the pack is clearly visible. Will this make or break their beautiful pack?
Personally, I’m rooting for them. Each member is sweet, beautiful and unique and I love the dynamics of the pack. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*
"...you are not expendable to this pack, not to me, and not to Nix. There will be no sacrifices."
Bonds of Fate is the second instalment in the adult MM why choose omegaverse romance. Written in multi third person POV the story continues immediately after the events of the first book as Nix grapples with what it means to be in a pack alongside his alphas and betas finding what their back will be. Yet things are still tense as the trial around Nix's abuser looms large...and Nix is determined to prove that being an omega is a strength that will change everything.
I wanted to love this book so much. It has the hallmarks of everything I love in MM omegaverse! A tightly knit pack that loves each other so much. A soulmate trope that minds various pack members together in such beautiful ways. A fight for injustice and a fascinating plot around male omegas!
At the same time this book was painfully slow. I felt a lot of the issues from book 1 were still unresolved and I saw no end in sight. The characters really struggle internally with processing things and we see quite a bit of reverting back in time to see the other characters' perspectives of the same events. This pack is very tumultuous and so too is their situation and as a result I never felt certain of what was going on.
This book does have quite a bit of spice - not just spicy scenes but also general sexual undertones throughout the story. The first spice scene is around the 11% mark and I noted about 15 spicy scenes, which means I would place this book at 5 spicy peppers out of 5 spicy peppers as a result. Spice involves knotting, multiple partners, domination, dirty talk, and is very explicit.
In the end I lost interest and I honestly do not remember a lot of the story because I was just struggling along. I felt like I was kept waiting for things to wrap up and they just didn't give me any satisfaction.
Another exciting book in the Fated in the Stars series. For lovers of omegaverse, fated mates, and poly relationships, this really is the book for you.
This book takes us through the continued journey of Nix and new found mates Jay, Grayson, Rowan, Leo, Luca, Gideon, and Finn in there aftermath of Nix's attack and subsequent turning into an omega Were. At this point in the story it is to be expected that some relationships between Nix and mates will feel more flushed out than others, and that it's difficult to capture relationship building between so many people. There was a lot of steam in this story, also to be expected. This did leave me really looking forward to the next book and the climax of the story, as well as to see more of the individual relationships within the pack.
At first it was a little difficult to remember the difference between some of the alphas, especially Rowan and Grayson, but this book did start to showcase more individual personalities. Like book 1, I had a hard time putting this down and wanted to race to the end to see what happens. I am counting down the days for book 3.
There were some things that I did not particularly enjoy that knocked this down from a 5 star. Perhaps book 3 will change my mind, but I do not like that there are soulmates within a fated mate pack of 8. I personally like my poly relationships to feel as equal between each individual as possible. Here, the bond between Gideon and Luca overshadows others. I am eager to see how Grayson's and Nix's soulmate connection plays out vs other relationships, because currently Nix's relationship with Jay seems to be the most prominent. I am eager for Nix to finish his bond with Finn and Leo, I feel like those poor mates have been left out a bit.
Overall I'm really enjoying this story and I can't wait to read more.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
After a very intense beginning that introduced us to an equally intriguing and complex Omegaverse world, all the emotional angst and trauma, sprinkled with sweet memories of Nix and Gideon's past, book 2 picks up right from that pivotal moment in Nix's life when everything he has known, everything he's been through, and everything he's been told since his miraculous recovery has left us wanting more. Book 2 does not disappoint and delivers the next portion of the world in which Nyx found himself, surrounded by brand new challenges, hidden truths and surprises. And not just any Pack - but one he can call his own. Pack, family, relationships and bonds - despite how new and intimidating it all seems, Nix navigates his new reality with humble grace, a strong will to learn, and all the love he thought would never be on his agenda. I loved the way the story unfolds, showcasing that while Nix reality is a lot better now, eight people in a relationship is a new kind of turbulence, that requires trust, communication and compromises. The author has added elements of jarring realism, not shying away from the problems that arise with so many people living together. While there are a lot of undeniably sweet moments, higher spice level and so much healing on page, the truth is that there are a lot of hard decisions to be taken that shake the very foundation of this big family, temper clashes and unpleasant revelations. I was hooked from the start to the end and now impatiently waiting to see how Nix and his mates will overcome the new challenges, barreling towards them.
The pacing got much better, especially deeper into the book. There were a lot less "rewind" chapters of the same events, which really helped with the pacing and my overall engagement.
My two silly qualms are that I still don't really understand why the omegas are in hiding (is there government corruption or something? a precedent to believe religious zealots could be a danger to them?). It kind of felt like the book was telling you "omegas have to be kept secret" and you just kind of had to accept it. Not a huge deal but threw me off. As did the pantsless stuff, lol. I am firmly team pro-pants, and imagining these important moments happening with zero pants on was wild.
My main real complaint would be that I still felt like some things were overexplained, but that issue was much less present than in the last book. Again, less "rewind" chapters really helped with that.
I really did like this book a lot more, and I loved the take on omegas. So good!!
Overall - I enjoyed it a lot more! I'm excited to see where the story goes.
Just for the fact Nix was actually awake the whole book, this is a better one than the first. This was good.
I liked to see the pack dynamic and advancing on Nix's abuser. BUT gosh there is so much talk and I really didn't like how Jay or even Gideon opposed him for wanting to comfront his abuser. He even told them why but they only listened to Luca's talk and I kinda felt like Nix's pain was seen, but not his capacity to be a smart and strong man. Jay's way of talking to Nix at the end was way out of line and clearly toxic too to me.
Grayson is clearly my fav bc he's the only one actually treating Nix as a total individual here : taking him on a date, buying him necessities, while the others (apart from Luca) still need to wake up a little for me.
Another bad points but it's personnal : way too much intimate scenes here. It was so much and showed the dynamic of so many pairs I felt a bit lost there and wanted Nix to be more than a packmate there but to be at the center too (but it's a personnal opinion !) Also Gideon and Luca's love was sooo emphasized all the time. We get it, you're soulmates and love each other more. The problem is when that Nix, between them, felt like a side to me.
Anyway, I can't wait to see more about Leo, Finn and Rowan in the next book.
After Nix being unconscious or asleep for the majority of the first book, he's now awake and getting to know his mates. Each of the seven men are far more rounded this time and I felt as though I was getting to know them better and could distinghuish between them more easily than I could in Threads of Fate. This picks up from the end of Threads of Fate, with Nix now learning about Weres and about his altered physiology. Remy has done an excellent job in creating this world and put plenty of thought into how it works and makes it believable. There's a lot of steamy scenes which is to be expected because these Weres are highly sexual and truly polyamorous. There's also the question of bonding, which needs to be completed by Nix biting his mates and receiving their bites in return, to truly unite them as an unassailable whole. I enjoyed this one better than the first, not least because Nix is awake, but it was a bit skewed in favour of Gideon and Luca to the detriment of the others, especially Leo who is almost an afterthought and I really hope he gets more page time in Tides of Fate. I can't wait to read the conclusion to their story and look forward to the villain getting what he deserves.
Nix, Luca, Finn, Rowan, Grayson, Jay, Gideon, and Leo story continues with more intensity, danger, unexpected revelations, a couple of twists and turns, bonding times, and so many feelings and emotions. Past trauma that still affects the present, greed, and well guarded secrets are a couple of challenges that our characters have to face, coupled with uncertainty and insecurities caused by the past. They slowly consolidate their bonds and spend time together as they get used to the pack dynamics and the existing bonds in their journey to form their unity. They have conflicts that are generated by fear of loss and protectiveness, as well as misunderstandings caused by miscommunication and hidden feelings caused by past hurts. The hotness is off the charts, their sweet loving moments are endearing, and the connections formed are beautiful. It was an exhilarating adventure and I’m looking forward to the climax.
ABSOLUTELY NOT A STANDALONE!! You have to read Threads of Fate first, or you will have no idea what is going on.
I am a huge fan of poly, and all the MMMs in this book make my little heart happy. I adore how each of the mates have a relationship with each other, and while some are a little more than the rest, no one is left out or loved less, just differently. The author really makes those relationships the heart and soul of the books, and I am in love with them.
The storyline is well-written, and thoroughly thought-out. There is a lot going on, both in the relationship and externally as well. The little surprise twist is awesome, and I simply can not wait to read how the rest of the story unfolds. This series has me on the edge of my seat, and the gap between this book and Tides is going to yawn cavernously in my heart. I almost wish I had waited until all 3 were out so I didn't have to wait impatiently for the resolution.
Bonds of Fate was beautiful, emotional, and so full of heart. Picking up right after Threads of Fate, this book dives deeper into trust, love, and healing in a way that feels raw and real. Watching Nix finally come home to the pack and learning to rebuild himself surrounded by love was everything.
I adored how this book balanced tenderness with tension. You get so many sweet moments of connection and devotion, but also the messy, complicated parts that make these relationships feel alive. The pack dynamic shines here. Each bond feels intentional and layered, with every character bringing something different and necessary to the story.
The writing is heartfelt, the spice is hot, and the emotions are heavy in the best way. It’s about healing from trauma, rediscovering who you are, and finding strength in the people who love you most.
An incredible continuation that made me fall even harder for this series.
I had the amazing opportunity to read this as an ARC, and to say I was beyond impressed is an understatement!
The world building, the character development, the relationships, and the whole pack dynamics are insane. The depth of everything is well thought out, and there is just so much to unpack with it all.
Nix's trauma is dealt with respectively, you can see how much he and the rest of his pack feel about it all, and the way they all help and treat each other around it is so nice. It shows exactly how healthy relationships are supposed to work.
On top of that, the whole ABO dynamic and the way that is explained and given a full recap at the end including all the physiology of their primary and secondary genders and what each gender has shown us that they can do is amazing.
I'm looking forward to reading part 3 of the series. It is a must-read for any ABO fans!
Ah you guys!!! I'm dying! This series is soo mushy, but in a stressful way? 😅 It's a continuation of the first book and while book 1 is a lot of introductions and recovery, this one has a heavy focus on deepening the relationship between Nix and his mates and also the beginnings of Nix dealing with his trauma. I think the entire thing is basically set at their pack house.
Like the first one it manages to weave a romance between 8 mates seemlessly, giving each mate a chance to have some on page bonding time. There is a lot of emotional turmoil in this one and it's very hurt/comfort but god it's so good because they all love each other so much 😭 The fall out from book 1 does make it stressful to read at times, but in the end the strong bonds between the pack always win out. Can I drown in these books? Thanks.
In Book 2, we dive right in where book 1 left off and this pack continues to melt my heart. Nix's abuser is behind bars, there are some soulmate bonds created, and a lot of other nest action happens! I was not prepared for all the shmexy times lol but it was so well done and relevant to the story. Let's just say I feel thoroughly educated in that area now. I enjoy how this author incorporates the history and knowledge of pack behaviors, traditions, etc. throughout her books. The Rhodes pack is a sweet, kind, caring, funny bunch that will have you feeling ALL the emotions. I am throwing all the stars at this one too. Please read Book 1 first or you will be a bit lost.
Thank you so much Remy for sharing the guys with me :)
I absolutely love this series! Couldn't put it down, because I had to know what would happen next. This is an omegaverse, polyamorous, fated mates story, with eight males in a pack relationship. The writing is excellent. The author, Remy Bishop, wrote each character with distinctive personalities. At no time did I feel anyone was shorted in this complex love story. The plot is riveting, and contains unique paranormal elements, and fascinating world building. Hurt/comfort is at the forefront of this story, along with a balanced amount of steam. When each new book in this series was released, I droped everything in order to read them. This is a not to be missed fabulous series, and highly recommended!
Nix learns to live with his 7 mates and his own demons. He found love, a safe place, a perfect home. And he goes through such a huge roller coaster of emotions.
Going from a violent boyfriend who tried to kill him to 7 caring and loving men, he discovers the strenght of their bonds and the particularities of each of them.
He discovers the power of his own person and of his own determination. He wants to get his place in the world.
I loved that book even better than the first one, everything is so intense. I loved every character's personality and the differences between them being the glue to their relationship. They complete each other and the passion, the love is almost touchable. And the spice..... THE SPICE! O.M.G.
This book is Nix finally feeling safe and loved. However, the trial of his abuser looms in the horizon and the pack needs to figure out how to handle that so Dawson Hayes gets the sentence he deserves.
However, once some old law about Omega cones to light the options open up but also cause a huge amount of tension in the pack. Not everyone agrees on the actions that need to be taken. mate bond shows to Nix as a different color wrapping around his own. Its absolutely beautiful.
I know there is a lot of hard things coming up that will test everyone. I am excited and worried for what is next.
This is better than the first, and the first was damn good. I have been CRAVING a series like this! An MM omegaverse that is poly, has a plot, and plenty of spice? A story rich enough that it needs multiple books to tell it right, not just a new relationship telling basically the same story in every book? Actually believing the love story? Interesting world building with enough unique aspects that it feels new and different than others in the genre? It seems like finding all of this in an omega verse is nearly impossible. I can’t tell you have quickly I devoured the first two books and now I’m just waiting for the 3rd. So so good.
A lot of character and relationship building going on. It's very clear how much all of these men love one another. How much care they put into loving each other. Nix fits perfectly in with his mates. Conflicts that arise are within the pack and related mostly to Nix's previous mistreatment and his future to resolve and overcome his past. They're amazing at letting themselves and the others work through their feelings and talk things out. It's a beautiful and raw portrayal of polyamorous relationships.
First off, shout out to the author for the book 1 summary.
However Luca/Leo and Grayson/Gideon names were still a tad confusing sometimes, especially as each pair had similar secondary gender designations.
It also felt like Leo's presence is always tied to another character, he isn't really given his own unique story. Almost as if he is an 'add-on' to their pack. But I still enjoyed this, a solid 5 star for me. Hopefully Leo gets more in book three
