Jessica Gadziala is a USA Today bestselling author who lives in rural New Jersey with her parrots, dogs, and an ever-growing collection of houseplants. A lifelong dreamer, she’s been writing stories since childhood and published her first book in 2015. When not at her desk, she’s usually feeding backyard birds, rewatching crime dramas, period pieces, and 90s supernatural TV shows, or adding to her towering stacks of unread books.
❤️❤️Pandora Von Ashmore is in a position where she must marry to secure her inheritance… To make things even more challenging, she has to do this before her next birthday, which will be her 125th….. Just a quick note: her birthday is in less than three months!
❤️❤️Let me provide you with some background on Pandora. While she lives in a beautiful mansion in the upscale area of her town, it’s important to note that it’s all her parents’ money. She works part-time as a barista at a coffee shop. Unbeknownst to many, she’s a vegan vampire who opts for pig’s blood over human blood, and she’s nearly always broke.
❤️❤️Then there’s her crush, whom her best friend, the werewolf, nicknames Caramel Latte, or Victor.
💜💜💜 Victor is twenty-nine years old and is working towards his PhD. Like any student, he has a multitude of roommates all living together…
💜💜 Currently, Victor is in his last semester, struggling with tuition fees. He was just about to give up on his PhD when Pandora came up with a solution… He reluctantly agreed, mainly because he had dedicated so much time to his thesis and studies, and he was concerned that leaving university would mean he couldn’t return due to financial issues.
💘💘 Honestly, I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems like the main characters lacked chemistry throughout the book..... Perhaps it's because they both seem to have their noses buried in books...... I won't comment further on that, as I can relate to it myself.
💜💜💜 I find it amusing how centuries-old vampires make every effort to connect with Pandora's new love; at times, it reminded me of watching reruns of the classic Addams Family shows.
💘💘 I can't believe I'm saying this, but JG did a commendable job with her new world-building series. The unfortunate part is that it doesn't quite measure up to her previous works...... I would like to remind you this is just my opinion…. Perhaps it's just that I'm not familiar with JG's writing in this genre........ I know, I know, I'm being inconsistent.
💛💛Will I continue reading this series? Absolutely, because I have faith that JG will gradually enhance her new genre.
🧛♀️ Bookish Thoughts Loved it! Very cute vampire romance with all the fun family drama. Vampire family 🤣🤣
✨Fave Quote “In her defense, there were spicy books to read. Tens of thousands of them. It was actually one of the things she most looked forward to when it came to immortality.”
Ok, ok. Finally a vampire book that doesn't make me run!!! I liked this. It was cute and - most of all - it was SO fun to read 😆 I liked the fact that there was this huge extended vampire family and every day the wedding was getting closer and closer a new vampire would just pop up in the house. And the discussions between the old generations Vs the new. The vampire sun blocker was a blast! and so the discussions about the bed Vs the coffin, the ethical sourced blood... Ah!
Maybe not the most gothic or accurate vampire story out there... but it was a great time and a nice love story 💜
Ⓟⓡⓔ—Ⓡⓔⓥⓘⓔⓦ New Arc! I really hope this book will get me out of my vampire terror. I've always loved vampire movies and tv series... some minor books in the past, too. But in these couple years, my few attempts at vampire romance have left me "ugh" ..."bleah". But this seemed too fun to pass out. It even has the marriage of convenience trope I love so much!!
❁ Thank you to Netgalley, Jessica Gadziala and Avon Books UK for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion ❁
I absolutely love a good vampire book and this book ticked all my boxes. It had humour, fake lovers, vampires, werewolves, Romance, a touch of spice, and a whole lot of books, coffee, drama, and one big vampire family!
It made such a change to not read a vampire book focused all on sex and blood. Don’t get me wrong there is a good mix of spice and passion. There is so much to this book.
I really, really, hope there will be another installment as I want more and need to know more. I loved Pandy and Victor i want to see what's next for them! Will Victor become hers for eternity? Oh and Lucy and Elias, there flirty banter sizzled i really hope we get a story just for them! Oh and I almost forgot Dante we only just scratched the surface on his story with his experiment.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed My Big Fat Vampire Wedding and couldn't put it down!
A big Thank you to Avon Books, for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Vampires are everywhere right now, including cute covers like this, and I loved "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" when it first came out (I assume that’s where the allusion in the title comes from). I was hoping for something funny, light-hearted, and still readable, but unfortunately I didn’t get that from this book.
The main character needs to get married to get her inheritance (she’s already in her 100s after all). Enter her coffee shop crush, who agrees to help with a marriage of convenience because he needs to fund his PhD programme in… vampire studies (of course, he doesn’t know vampires are real). The big vampire family was fun. I liked the best friend - and that’s pretty much it.
I thought there was no chemistry between the characters, and the MMC “was just there”, there wasn’t much of him and he felt a bit flat??. The plot dragged, and I found myself irritated. The first half of the book kept me somewhat invested, but by the second half, I’d mentally checked out. It just didn’t feel fun enough for me.
I still think that if you enjoy lighthearted books, it could be a quick-ish autumn read, but it wasn’t what I was looking for.
Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I love this emotional, funny, and entertaining story. A great story that, at first glance, appears to be just a fantasy/paranormal rom-com, but is actually so much more.
Fantastic characters. Amazingly written story. Hilarious banter-filled discussions with The Family. Vampires, werewolves, humans, all with so many "incredible ideas" 💡 😂 and hopefully soon their own books. So many incredibly fascinating characters. A story that is not only exciting but also complicated, dramatic, and emotional.
A great heroine, who despite her dominant family, tries to find her own way. A perfect hero. Victor is trustworthy, loyal, and simply adorable. They are almost perfect for each other. If it weren't for a few "little" secrets that Pandora forgot to mention.
His story started out very unusually, but their life developed into a wonderful, unique love story. And a beautiful, scorching hot HEA.
My Big Fat Vampire Wedding by Jessica Gadzilla, this book was so funny, I really was hoping for a second book with their best friend and coworker and hopefully that is soon to come. As far as this book goes it is funny cute with lots of twisty moments you don’t usually get in a romance story But if you love vampires werewolves secrets dysfunctional families jealous cousins arranged marriages etc then you will definitely enjoy the story I certainly did it was so cute! #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview, #KindleUnlimited, #JessicaGadzilla, #MyBigFatVampireWedding,
Quick Summary: A spooky-licious, vampire rom-com with heart
My Review: My Big Fat Vampire Wedding by Jessica Gadziala is a 2025 paranormal romance. It was released TODAY (8/14/25).
About the Book: "Fake wedding + vampires = happily ever after?"
In My Own Words: What do you get when you put a female vampire of a considerable age with a human male scholar and a number of quirky well meaning supernatural relatives? You get a rip roaring good time.
My Final Say: This novel was everything I love about para-romances! Not only did it give off twisty family hijinks vibes, but it also had a crazy great fake it-make it heat between the leads. The story, the characters, the feelings, and all the flavor that went along with this one worked.
Can I just say that I cannot wait until this story comes out as an audiobook? I want it!!!
Now, I'm wondering if more will come from this. Let's go!
Other: Readers who enjoy crazy, sexy, cool reads will love this novel.

Sincere appreciation is extended to the author, to the publisher (Avon Books UK | Avon), and to NetGalley. Thank you so very much for granting access to a digital ARC of this title. It was a pleasure to get to know this writer and to be introduced to such a spooky-licious read. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Cute, I really liked it. It was both hilarious and touching. I loved Pandora and Victor together, side characters also stood out, don’t even get me started on Vlad the Raven🖤 The book had some plot holes and left me with a couple questions at the end but it wasn’t crucial for the understanding of the plot
you ever read a book that pissed you off so bad you had to do circles in your place of work. yeah.
now i THOUGHT this was going to be so good it sounded fun and sillay and i am always in the mood for some shenanigans! but we didn't get any of that. i was feeling kind of very :/ about this book thinking abt dnf-ing and then suddenly a wave of self-loathing hit and i (known for my repression) DOVE IN and went hey maybe this book isn't so bad after all. but it was, oh god it was...
number one, the writing is oddly clunky at times which is an EASY hurdle to jump over if i enjoyed the book. being that i didn't, i unfortunately will condemn it. i'll get to the sex scenes in a minute because that is a whole THING but gosh reading these sex scenes...and the asexual freak crowd (me) is making a snapchat rant video instead...?
okay. you don't HAVE to make a book dual pov. but if you spend almost the entire time in pandora's pov convinced that victor doesn't like her or want her in the way that she does, then at least provide his pov/outside proof! like YES i KNOW he's not bc this is a romance but from her LIMITED pov it DOES seem that way!!!! lucy can't SPEAK our understanding of their interactions into existence. i do think victor was interested from their interactions but then pandora would mention how he hasn't texted/talked to her in DAYS...HELLO! idk. how are y'all fucking thrice and still like hey maybe he hates me...how am *i* thinking that!!!!
which the sex scenes oh GOD these sex scenes. now i will admit, sexual attraction is #notmything but these sex scenes are SO out of place!!!!!! there's no buildup NOTHING and they just fuck in the ODDEST PLACES bc again, they're so shoehorned in! i LOVEEE a buildup i eat sexual buildup for breakfast lunch and dinner. but their first sex scene happens...um??? idek why??? but its in a closet in the middle of their fake engagement dinner. and then they just act normal about it five seconds later. the second? after victor reads smut out loud (mind u theyre at an apartment viewing and their agent stepped out for an errand) and then they fuck IN THE APARTMENT THEYRE VIEWING. that they then BOUGHT but like !!! whaddahell....here i pan to the crowd does smut actually make yall all hot and bothered like is that real........and also like all this sex not a SINGLE CONVO???????? his dick is in your mouth girl you better put some WORDS in there soon!!! their third dalliance (not their final one) happens middle of the wedding dinner before the ceremony OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!! I REREAD TO MAKE SURE BC THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS LIKE ARE THEY FUCKING ON THAT GROUND THEY DID NOT MENTION MOVING INSIDE. and sure enough! there was too much rolling around for this to happen on leaves and twigs but okay i guess. when the mood suffices it must happen. and then their final sex scene is actually the only believable one, after a moment of intense love declaration. thank GOD i guess. but it still happens in an office ARE THESE BITCHES ALLERGIC TO A BED???? it's not even bc she's a vampire she sleeps in a bed! whatever i guess.
now onto the story. the plot of im a vampire and i can only receive my inheritance if im married and the cute guy i have a crush on at work needs money so we enter a fake marriage but my human fiance CANNOT find out abt the vampirisms sounds fun (ESPECIALLY when we find out he's doing his PhD in vampire portrayals in literature??? okayyy) but it was so blah here. what is WITH these fun plots centered around the wettest blankets around. pandora is a mope for half of this and i love her but ohhhmygodddddd. why is elias the fun one here, you have me on the side of an egotistical rich white man im SICK!!!!!!!! but he's funny! and clearly someone here has to be!!!!!! pandora's family is eccentric and sillay and fun to read about but bc pandora spends every single waking moment freaked out in her head, we're unable to enjoy the shenanigans! and there are TOO many plots here. why does bellatrix need to gaf abt pandora's wedding and interfere. why does dante need to make vampire sunscreen why are we focused on all this and not the ROMANTIC DEVELOPMENT THAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN.
which god the romance. i realized just how LONG it's been since i read a third act breakup bc goDDAMN did that piss me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to build up this ENTIRE book, the title ITSELF! to a wedding and then HAVE IT NOT HAPPEN. im going to kill everyone in this book and myself. the third act breakup happens because the night before they sort out their feelings and NOW pandora is having moral struggles with lying to victor about being a vampire. she STOPS the wedding, mind u she is WALKING THE AISLE at this point, accidentally blurts abt being a vampire in earshot of victor and after chasing him, victor suddenly gets pissy at pandora for the betrayal of not telling a human that shes a vampire?? i wanted to put a bullet in my head. he gets SO UPSET btw! after SAYING THAT HE SUSPECTED! like what is the fucking issue here??? BETRAYAL????? SHES A VAMPIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why in the HELL would u be upset she kept that a secret yall made it a real marriage NOT EVEN 24 HRS AGO???? this was going to be a fake arrangement ohmyGOD men piss me off so bad.
so they break up. and im already pissed off bc not only did i have to read this bs but at this point im pulling two hours unpaid overtime at the lab already. then she mopes around, she gets her inheritance bc her parents feel bad and come around on archaic principles, and she gets to build the bookshop of her dreams she's talked about. she's still sad because she misses victor. victor APPEARS at her bookshops grand opening and they have the most perfunctory excruciating convo of my fucking life bc NOW victor gets it and NOW victor understands and NOW he wants to get back together. im going to end it all. like what????????????? that's how you KNOW it was the stupidest breakup in the world because they don't even have a meaningful conversation to get back together about it!!!! and then they fuck whatever. i want to mention victor does not have a personality there is like zero banter pandora has a major crush on this guy from before this book even starts and it shows, because we know nothing interesting about him! like. finding out he's doing a PhD in vampire literature SHOULD lead to fun shenanigans where as he spends more time around the family he keeps going 🤨 and then gets silly with it! a "yeah i suspected you were a vampire all along" AT the wedding is so fucking cute! not whatever bullshit we concocted here!
BUT THE EPILOGUE. HAPPENS AFTER THEIR WEDDING. ALL OF THAT PREPARATION THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY THE DRESS SHOPPING THE INVITATIONS THE WEDDING ITSELF! AND WE DONT EVEN GET TO SEEE??? THEIR ACTUAL WEDDING??? WE GET MAYBE TWO LINES OF SNIPPETS?? ARE U FUCKING KIDDING ME??? big fat vampire wedding my FOOT like??????????? anyway. this book pissed me off i don't even want to get into how allegedly pandora is supposed to have curves (enough to where the dress shop lady makes cutting remarks about her figure. which her mother and aunt in the same room have and this is stated in the book MORE curvy figures than pandora. so WHY sylvia or whatever her name is keeps being a bitch i dont know????) but the woman on the cover is all angular bone. i don't even care anymore.
every time i take a chance on heterosexual romance i get disappointed. where is my bisexual freak romance author tell them i need saving.

This book was so funny and good 🤭 it had a lot of Wednesday vibes, for example the fmcs parents were like morticia and gomez Adams and her bestie is a werewolf like Enid in the series 🥰
I sank my teeth into this book and couldn’t let go.....completely fang-tastic! HA! 🧛♂️
Spoiler Free Summary In order to get her inheritance, the FMC must be married by a certain date. She hires a regular at her coffee shop to marry her. Her family is all supportive until they release that he is not a vampire.
Vibes The banter and comedy in this book had me on the floor. The werewolf best friend and the additional vampire character were hilarious—I found myself highlighting their lines just to remember them forever.
I really enjoyed the growing relationship between the main characters, especially how committed they were to "selling" the romance to others. It made their chemistry feel genuine. The family and extended family dynamics were also a nice touch—we got to meet everyone in a way that felt natural, without being overwhelmed by side character chaos.
You can really feel the effort and yearning from both leads, which makes their final realization all the more satisfying. I’d love to see a sequel focusing on the bestie and that vampire—I need more of their antics in my life. Finally, it was great how the author addressed healthy male masculinity/protecting your partner from hate. The incident with the extremist going after the FMC and the MMC protecting her letting her know his behavior wasn't ok and that SHE IS ALLOWED TO STAND UP FOR HERSELF!
Next, the story flowed great and was medium paced.
Spice: 3/5 - Traditional, not super spicy
Tropes: Vampire/Human relationship 🧛♂️ Urban Fantasy Marriage for convenience/Hire Modern day marriage Million-dollar Heiress Forbidden love
A vampire and a human oh my, my, my, how adorable this book was!
Pandora is working a dead end job as a barista at the coffee shop but has dreams of opening her own book store when her inheritance hits BUT Pandora soon gets the news that she won’t get her inheritance without first being married
Victor is currently is PHD student that loves to occupy the coffee shop for his regular drink. Finding out how much debt he’s in and realising he won’t be able to cover another semester he heads to the coffee shop in hopes to speak to the woman who caught his eye for one final time.
When a conversation is struck up between the two they both soon realise they can help each other out and so they struck up a deal, a fake dating soon to be engaged and married deal.
A vampire hiding her secret, a human surrounded by non humans, what could possibly go wrong?
These two have been such a joy to read about. Her family (minus a couple) had me laughing away at their antics and her best friend was a hoot, I loved how much she loved and cared about Pandora even though it goes against the norm for their kinds.
This read was quite refreshing from my usual genre but it’s just left me wanting to read some more paranormal rom coms. I think it might become one of my favorites.
This was my first read from this author and I can guarantee it won’t be my last. The writing was easily read and the storyline was fun to follow. I sure do hope there will be more from this series at some point
This book had everything I adore, so it was basically a win from page one- vampires, fake dating, and a slow-burn romance? An absolute treat.
As someone with a big, chaotic family, I found the portrayal of a large, meddlesome group both charming and painfully accurate. Some relatives were lovable, some were absolutely insufferable, and honestly? That tracks. The romance was flirty, fun, and well-paced, keeping me happily along for the ride. My only tiny gripe was the timeline hopping. It was very small but I did notice some time skipping and summaries to fill in the blanks, which isn’t my fave. But aside from that (and the real crime: a third act breakup)- This was a delightfully silly, cozy, and vampy fake dating adventure that left me happily entertained. Thank you Avon UK for the ARC!
I enjoyed the romance but felt like there was just a lot going on here that distracted from the romance—side characters galore! I liked the side characters but they just had too much on page time that took away from the H and hs time. I’m seriously asking myself “did the h have more dialogue with the BFF or with the H?” Their sexual chemistry was great though and I really did like both of the characters. It was is just so different from anything I have read by JG before and I think that threw me.
She’s a very sweet vampire which I’m not sure how I feel about. I was kind of in the mood for a darker h. She doesn’t feed off of humans or drink human blood.
Overall: 3.5, not rounded up because the ending didn’t hit how I wanted it too. JG writes amazing epilogues too and while we did get one it wasn’t what I’m accustomed to with her. I’ll read the other books that will come out in this world though.
I really adore the premise for My Big Fat Vampire Wedding: a vampire and a werewolf being BFFs, the vampire falls in love with a human who happens to be a specialist when it comes to (fictional) vampires, the vampire has to get married in order to get her inheritance and her vampire family is super traditional and set in their ways. So smart and so fun!
But the execution could have been better IMO. For me, this was too much of a slowburn and the neverending will they/won't they grated me (as it always does, to be honest, I'm pretty sure this is more of a me problem than anything else). Then, for someone writing a thesis about vampires, Victor really wasn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier, how could it have taken him so long to suspect anything?
I kind of wish for a second book centered on Lucy and Elias because their endless teasing was really hilarious!
On the plus side, Jessica Gadziala did a great job incorporating pretty much all the vampires tropes in a very refreshing way: garlic, coffins, bats, Dracula, glamour, etc, you name it, she thought of it and it felt very natural, not like a list of things she had to check off.
The best part of this book was Lucy and Elias. The main couple were awkward as hell. It was like the author was trying to make main girl quirky like Bella from Twilight. “Pandy” was constantly zoning out when she was with him and their hang outs were always short with them abruptly parting ways. At one point during a dinner where their parents are meeting for the first time they step into a closet and randomly hook up and that’s just brushed over??? Neither of them address it and yet they’re still dancing around each other not knowing if there’s any “real feelings there”. 🙄Girl please.
Also, the scene the morning of the wedding where they had a wordless convo about their feelings followed by the outbursr Victor had when he overheard the truth of her being a vampire was so out of character. What do you mean a character that is supposedly obsessed with learning everything about vampires suspected his partner was one and was pissed once it was confirmed?? Months go by and he finally apologizes and realized he was unfair??? Finally they admit their love in the last 20 pages?? Like it’s not a slowburn just because you say I love you at the end but are randomly hooking up throughout the book. This was not fun it was aggravating.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for an eARC in exchange for an honest review
This was so super cute and the ultimate flirty fake-dating vampire romance. I can't lie the whole time I was reading this, all I could think was it's basically Hotel Transylvania except it's Mavis trying to pass for a human instead of Johnny as a monster (only this had more PhDs on 18th century vampiric literature). So if that film is one of your faves, definitely pick this up! Starting to think I'll finish up this year with a personal master-list of vampire books in all genres and when I tell you this will be top of my Romance category. Despite all the obvious fantasy books, this story doesn't feel outlandish or hard to believe because at its core it's two people falling in love - despite and because of all their eccentricities. For another comparison, if you read A Cruel Thirst and thought wow I wish this had a modern-day cosy bookshop setting, this is your dream come true
This was so fun! At times a little wacky, but it just added to the story's charm.
Pandora's family and their quirks were the highlight of the book. Because of this, I think Pandora and Victor's love story suffered just a smidge. They had a wonderful slow burn, but I still wanted to SEE a little bit more of our two MCs falling in love, rather than just be told it as the story progressed.
If you enjoy a ridiculous plot, family shenanigans, and a sweet romance, this book if for you! A highly entertaining story, that I'm sure I'll read again and again.
