You won't be able to put this one down!” -- USA Today bestselling author Beth Albright

Elvis may be chewed up, spit out, and stepped on, but he sure ain’t dead. Ten years after illness and scandal dragged his life into the dirt, he’s searching for meaning in a world that’s all but forgotten him.

Enter TV reporter Tom Cirone, a young man on the run from a tragic past and navigating a dangerous romance. When he stumbles onto a deadly police cover-up, his relentless reporting puts a target on his back. But as the threats close in, a reluctant ally steps out of the Elvis Presley—alive, middle-aged, and on a mission of his own.

A Most Enjoyable Read

This explosive thriller takes you on a wild ride with Elvis in the name of justice. A gripping page-turner that will have you invested in Thomas, the TV reporter known as Rambo, plagued with guilt by his past and whose messy love life has him stumbling through a murder investigation amidst police brutality. Is Meredith, married to the man who wants him dead, friend or foe? Will Elvis, aka Danny, be able to save him or vice versa? The '80s Memphis vibe is all there in full technicolour. I highly recommend it.

Maybe the best work of fiction to feature Elvis

I’ve been a lifelong Elvis fan- and like countless others have sometimes asked- “What if?” What if his life had not ended on August 16th, 1977? Would he have reinvented himself like he did while stationed in Germany? A rebel left and a sophisticated crooner returned. Or in 1968 when the watered down movie star returned raw and pacing on a boxing ring during the Singer Special dressed in a head to toe black leather suit? Say nothing of the man who then took every musical inspiration that led him to that point- gospel, rhythm, quartet voices and more to create a stage show that has often been impersonated but never repeated? I’ve wondered often what would Elvis’ 1980s reinvention looked and sounded like? We will never know but Jim Condelles gives us one view- and it’s bold, and honest, and frankly, even plausible. Elvis fans will love the nods to Elvis’ life, his own words, and lyrics woven throughout the story. A story filled with Easter Eggs. And beyond Elvis there is a real story- real characters. I didn’t think I’d like this book but started it anyways. Ended up loving it.

If you're into mystery/thrillers, spicy romance, and characters who are gloriously messy and always up to their necks in trouble... then, Last Bridge to Memphis is your next obsession. Oh—and did I mention Elvis is alive? Yep, that Elvis. This book jumps into the thick of it from the start and is a wild ride with twists, close calls, and a whole lotta heart. You’ll be cheering for Tom, a TV news reporter and Danny (aka Elvis himself) as they fight to stay alive and maybe—just maybe—become better men in the process. Plus, the '80s Memphis vibes? Pure nostalgic gold.

Just finished this and can happily recommend. It’s both a page-turner and one to enjoy as long as it lasts. The author wrote a really original story focused on a Memphis tv reporter, a bad cop, and Elvis plays a central and fun role throughout. It’s a great reimagining of Elvis’s life had he not died in 1977 and instead lived on into the 1980s. I read it slowly at first but then tore through the ending and was left with only one thought: I really hope a sequel is in works. Have a little less conversation and make time for this fun alt history.
