Scarlet

Life hasn’t been kind to me, pushing me to the edge more times than I can count. My past is a patchwork of betrayal, loss, and scars that refuse to fade. But when I met Hayden, he saw beyond my pain, loved me for who I was, and made me believe in a future I never thought I deserved. He’s everything to me, but how can I hold on to him when I can barely hold on to myself?

Hayden

Scarlet is the love of my life, the woman who turned my life upside down and gave me a purpose greater than myself. But loving her means facing battles I never expected—her pain, her fears, and the shadows of a life she’s trying to leave behind. Together, we face profound challenges that threaten to destroy the love we’ve fought so hard to create.

With new threats emerging, can our love overcome the greatest trials yet and forge a path to a future together, or will it all come crumbling down? This is our story. It’s messy, raw, and full of passion—and we promise, it’s worth every twist and turn.

Firstly I want to thank Kristy for giving me the opportunity to read Sweet Little Revenge! I absolutely loved this book!

Quick Overview:

Sweet Little Revenge is a heart-pounding romance that takes readers on an emotional rollercoaster through the darkest depths of despair and the brightest moments of hope to the highest peaks of ecstasy. Told from dual perspectives, the story follows the tumultuous journey of Scarlet and Hayden, two passionate lovers whose relationship is tested against overwhelming odds.

My Review:

I loved this duet. Sweet Little Revenge kicks off with drama immediately! The details and descriptions are written beautifully, allowing the reader to bring the story to life in their imagination. This book is filled with many emotions, allowing you to feel more connected to the characters. Hayden is a strong male character who definitely gives off the "will burn the world for you" vibes!! Scarlet is a beautiful strong woman who will always put others before her!

Kristy has really brought these characters to life! A brilliant dark romance!

Now this book is part of Duet so please read Sweet Little Devil before reading Sweet Little Revenge. Please check the trigger warnings before reading as some may be upset by the material written.

Sweet Little Revenge will be released on the 22nd March so keep your eyes peeled!! 👀 🖤

I loved every second of this second half to the duet. I loved how Scarlet lived through her traumatic experiences but as a way to make her stronger and not live stuck as a victim. She used that and found her true calling by helping others. And Hayden , bless him, was there for her and helped her through it, leading gradually to their (sweet in a messed up way) HEA . It certainly was a rollercoaster of a ride

I've been wanting to read the second book of this hawt little duet for ages! Oh my Lordt, there's so much I want to say, but I don't want to give out any spoilers. The plotline grips you from the start, it's very dark and you need to please be careful if you don't like going in blind - I can't go in blind either, so please check out the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book before doing so. The book dives into some highly sensitive...things.

Anyways, let's chat a little about Scarlett because the way her character doesn't back down from challenges, all the emotional and physical trials, etc, is commendable. Kristy Ozolina, you really know how to make a reader's heart ache, don't you? Which is a magical talent, really, but oh my gosh, the way I empathise with the Scarlett. Her Pain, the agony. Ugh, my heart. She's so strong! And Hayden, an unhinged, serial killer, plus a cutie-pie? COME TO MAMA. I love how devoted and loyal he is to her, no matter what. The tension! Crackling like thunder! Ugh, yes.

Now. There are so many thoughts and feelings... BUT I SHAN'T SAY MUCH. It's ended too soon for me, really. Amazing sequel. I do prefer this one if I'm being honest - the first one got me in the feels too, but this has more of a hold on me, if I can say that. It's paced and written very well. Everything flows just right.

If you like a lot of trauma and angst, darkness and a roller-coaster of events with a passionate plot-line, bad-ass main leads, romance, drama, intense passion and a happy ending, and more, then this one is for you.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Absolutely ate this up!

Sweet Little Revenge is the second book in The Devil’s Duet, and dare I say… my favorite of the two! Yes, I said it! This book completely consumed me—I could not put it down for a second.

With a dark and intense storyline, especially in the first half (think Hunting Adeline vibes), this book pulls you in and doesn’t let go. Kristy Ozolina knows exactly how to write raw, gut-wrenching emotion, making me feel every ounce of Scarlet’s pain, strength, and resilience. And then there’s Hayden—his love and devotion are nothing short of breathtaking. The angst, the tension, and the passion between them? Absolutely electrifying.

Just when you think the story has reached its peak, Ozolina throws in another twist, keeping you on edge until the very end. The character growth is phenomenal—Scarlet is a total badass, a queen who refuses to break, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring. And Hayden? His unwavering love and loyalty make him the ultimate dark romance hero.

Despite its dark themes, (check your triggers) at its core, Sweet Little Revenge is a stunning love story—intense, passionate, and deeply emotional. And yes, there is a happily ever after… and it is perfect! If you love dark romance with gripping storytelling, powerful character development, and a love that defies all odds, this book is a must-read!

Wow- I don’t even know where to begin, this book consumed me, hands down my favourite out of the two!

The first half was so dark and raw and tough to read, but it was written so perfectly, that I honestly felt the pain Scarlet was going through. (Please read your trigger warnings- the first half is very dark)

Even though our FMC had to go through the most horrific things, she came out as a fighter, she battled / still battles those demons, and now helps heal others and I’m just in awe of her character growth! And Hayden😩 god we love him!! The absolute definition of a man who’d burn the world down for his woman… I loved the glimpses we got of his pain, and how he was struggling with what happened to scarlet. And then just their breathtaking raw love that they have for each other… honestly I just adore the two of them.

And that’s why I spent the whole of the last 2 chapters sobbing my heart out, I’ve never been so happy at the end of a book before😂 talk about a HEA !!!

Wow!! Thankyou Kristy for allowing me into this dark, twisted yet beautiful, heart wrenching world you have created.. 🖤

‘But she? She thrives in the shadows. She bends the darkness to her will, shapes it into something fierce, something beautiful.’

An Emotional Rollercoaster That Grips You From Start to Finish This book completely wrecked me in the best possible way. Scarlet and Hayden’s story is raw, deeply emotional, and beautifully messy. From the very first page, I was hooked by Scarlet’s vulnerability and strength. Her past isn’t just a backdrop it shapes every choice she makes, and watching her try to navigate love while battling her own inner demons was nothing short of powerful. And then there’s Hayden… what a man. He’s the kind of character who restores your faith in unconditional love. His patience, his devotion, and the way he sees Scarlet even when she can’t see herself it was breathtaking. Their love isn’t easy, but it’s real. And that’s what makes this story so unforgettable. What I appreciated most is how the author doesn’t sugarcoat trauma or healing. The challenges Scarlet and Hayden face feel honest and raw, and yet there’s always that glimmer of hope that keeps you turning the pages. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, it threw me for a loop and I loved every twist and turn. If you’re looking for a romance that’s more than just surface-level love, this one will stay with you long after you finish. It’s emotional, intense, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommend.

This book was even better than the first one.
A lot darker than the first one so if you aren’t comfortable with reading about torture and SA then this isn’t a book for you.
Scarlett gets taken my her uncle she didn’t know she had. And is subjected so so much unthinkable things in ther few weeks she’s held captive.
Hayden spends the 2 weeks trying to find her and figure out how he’s going to get her home. He almost loses his life whilst flying in a helicopter to get to the island scarlet is held at.

The amount of emotion that is through this book is incredible. I could feel the emptiness of Scarlett after what had happened to her and how lost Hayden was as he doesn’t know how to handle what’s happened and how it’s changed Scarlett.

One thing I will say is that even though she went through a horrible ordeal and saw herself completely different. Hayden never stopped looking at her like he did before it all happened. And he helps bring her back.

I would love to thank Kristy for giving me the opportunity to be an arc for her book.

I couldn’t put this book down.
I needed to know how it started from how the first book ended.
It started with so much drama. The beginning of this book was a hard read and that’s with me being okay with the content & trigger warnings. So please read them before reading this book.
I’m okay with all trigger warnings but it was still hard to read however it really painted a picture of what was happening.

Scarlet and Hayden relationship was delivered so beautifully in this book. From how would they grow and nurture this connection from the drama that built but they had a really beautiful ending.

I wanted to cry by the end of this book just because it demonstrated how you can still go through so much emotion and trauma and still get the ending you are deserving off.

The amount of times I had to stop to cry, broke me so much within part one. I was not expecting this at all. My heart broke for what scarlet went through. I could feel my heart breaking alone with Hayden. Part two seeing her struggles with coming back into the world and adjusting back into ‘normal’. Watching her struggles within herself, towards the world and trying to process everything, broke me again.
Part two made up with all the tears. Seeing scarlet grow and work through her struggles was brilliantly written. And using her trauma to help children that had been through similar trauma like herself, creating a safe place for them to connect with others, be themselves, learn how to heal. Truly amazing.
I will never forget this book, I will always be thinking about it. The ending was perfect.

Please read triggers for this book.
This book starts off where the first one finishes and it kicks off straight away! Scarlett goes straight into survival mode and really goes through some stuff, it’s really heavy, had to put the book down a couple times to breath, this woman is a survivor and turns her trauma into helping others! Hayden, he’s a man on a mission and his luck at the beginning is pretty terrible but he never gives up. It really shows his love and determination to get his woman back. The journey in this book from start to finish was a wild ride, seeing Scarlett’s character development and how she survived was awe inspiring. Couldn’t put it down! I love these two characters, so perfect for each other and the way Hayden is there for her through her recovery, swoon! So pleased, after everything, they got their HEA 🥰

I have never read a book as fast as this one.

This is the second book to The Devils series. The series has gotten better!

The storyline is dark, quick with serious dark trigger warnings - please read the trigger warnings before reading this. Kristy knew how to make you feel of the emotions that our FMC, Scarlett, was feeling.

The character development for Scarlett is amazing - someone who won’t back down from a challenge with her journey to recovery, giving that raw emotion.
Even with Hayden by her side and the love between the pair of them 🥹

This dark romance is a must read and the writing style making you grip onto the storyline word by word.

Wow this was such a good book!
I read book 1 right before I received this one and the story grew more interesting and intense as the books went on!
Book 2 was absolutely brilliant the whole story line was so good and I’m glad we got to see scarlet grow so much!
Hayden was an absolute unhinged puppy and I was all for him 🥰
I felt like book 1 made the first part of the storyline drag just a little but then when you got to book 2 it increase to so much more!
It was hot and spicy just as we like 😉
but over all a really good read! 🥰

Sweet Little Revenge, book two of The Devils Duet is a dark, intense romance that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster from the beginning to the very end.

This is an 18+ book that touches on a lot of dark subjects and themes, so definitely check out the trigger warnings before reading if you like to be prepared.

The book is fast paced and well written, a duel perspective from both Scarlet and Hayden’s POV, that is intense, passionate and deeply emotional. A gripping story with great depth, character development and a beautiful ending. A must-read!

Arc reader review

There are so many emotions in one book!
I've loved this duet and the characters just as much.
This book has had me at the edge of my seat and nearly in tears of fear, sadness, and joy for Hayden and Scarlet

I've really enjoyed the dual POV but didn't really love the back and forth of time frames. Sometimes, it was a bit difficult to follow, which is why I didn't give the book 5 stars.

To end ...
F*CK YOU, RAVENS!

I received an ARC of this book to read, and although at first I struggled to get into it, I actually enjoyed the book.

In the ARC copy, I did find a few errors and that things were repeated multiple times just in different ways, which I found a little annoying. But the story itself was good.

It won't put me off reading any further work by Kirsty and look forward to reading more of her books...

Kristy has done it again!

What a book, I cried, laughed and rejoiced right alongside the characters.

This was a HEAVY book, check your trigger warnings before going in!

I won’t deny I had to skip some pages because it was a bit too much for me, but later on when we’re seeing the aftermath of all of MFC and MMC have been through we see Hayden really rally behind Scarlet and support her.

This book truly showed Scarlets strength, all she endured and she kept going and then turned such a harrowing experience into a positive situation for so many others.

The ending had me bawling, it was a much needed ending for these characters 💕

Kristy Ozolina’s Sweet Little Revenge is a gripping dark romance that explores themes of trauma, resilience, and vengeance with remarkable sensitivity. While the novel delves into heavy and often unsettling subject matter, Kristy handles trauma with a compassionate and delicate touch. Her characters are deeply flawed yet compelling, shaped by past pain in a way that feels authentic rather than exploitative.

What sets this book apart is the way Kristy allows Scarlet to reclaim power without diminishing the weight of her suffering. The emotional depth woven into the romance makes the story both heart wrenching and cathartic, ensuring readers remain invested in every twist. If you enjoy dark romance with a strong emotional core, Sweet Little Revenge is well worth a read.

I read this as an ARC review, and after the cliffhanger at the end of the first book, I was so relieved to jump straight into book two! That cliffhanger had me on edge, and I'm glad I didn’t have to wait too long to find out what happens next.

This book contains some very graphic descriptions of torture and abuse, so I want to caution anyone who might be triggered by that content. However, I think the author handled the subject matter well—showing the horrors of it without shoving it in your face. Scarlet’s recovery is portrayed realistically, and she doesn’t magically heal overnight, which I really appreciated.

As for Hayden, I’ll admit he bugged me a little in this book. I missed the dark, gruff, and twisted version of him from the first book. He came across as a bit too soft and mushy this time around. That said, I still ended up enjoying his character development and the way he showed vulnerability.
