First, I would like to thank the author for giving me a chance to read this early and get an Arc!
But…… I did not like this
I had a little bit of hope that this would be better than Forgive Me Father but it’s not
It’s still very cringy and things get hot like 18% in, which I see no reason for, considering this book is 400+ pages
All the 5 star review on this book is really throwing me because….really? This? 5 STARS?!
Overall this book was not my cup of tea, and neither is this authors writing so I don’t think I will be reading anything else from her anytime soon

I don't support AI books so this one is going to be an auto 1 star for me since the author is very open about using AI for her books, such as Teacher's Pet.

It's also super interesting to lie about working on building an ethical AI program and when people asked the university who was heading the project, they had never heard of her and they said the project wasn't able to make a viable product through an ethical program. So... she's just using AI to make character art for the books (which Stanford and FBI found that it was training on and making new C$AM and revenge corn images despite the developers claiming the programs can tell the difference between illegal material).

In my opinion, I don't think any books of quality could come from using AI like this author does for her work. For all of these reasons, I am leaving a 1 star on this book since her fans want to jump on my ass even though it is my opinion that this AI book is going to suck and not enough people are bothered about the AI usage.

Plot - 5/5
Characters - 5/5
Spice - 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

For context of how much I loved this book, I received an ARC at 5:34pm and I am writing my review at 10:52pm and I just NEED to scream my love of Professor Noah Ackerman and Ana to the world!!!

The way I would let Daddy Noah coat rocks with peanut butter and make me eat them to hear him call me Princess. I thought I would forever be a simp for Father Roman but holy moly, Noah was everything and more.

This book is RED HOT CHILLI PEPPER spicy and I’d recommend having a fire extinguisher nearby to get through it. Daddy Noah takes his Dom role very seriously and isn’t afraid to punish his naughty little Princess anywhere, anytime.

Ana was a freaking badass FMC who isn’t afraid to put Noah on his knees (in more ways than one) and is the definition of a self confident, sexual female lead.

If all of the above doesn’t convince you, let the words of my new lord and savior Daddy Noah sway you to hop on that Teacher’s Pet train:

“Why don't you scream for me, pretty girl, I doubt you can take another finger. Then I can lick you clean”

Now for the good stuff:
✨ Tropes include forbidden romance, professor x student, Dom/sub, sadist x masochist, hidden identity.

💦 Kinks include spitting, spanking, double stuffed, biting, anal, toy play, deepthroating, the dirtiest dirty talk, degradation, slapping, praise kink, and more.

the only way i can describe this book is that it felt like a 50 shades of grey remix/retelling that turned dark and weird really fast.

i would’ve liked to see the “forbidden” element of ana and noah’s relationship drawn out a little bit more, because it felt like they got together far too quickly for my taste with a professor x student trope.

i enjoyed the first few chapters, but they were a tad misleading when they got to a certain point. i also really liked ana’s character until the end of those few chapters, but then she started getting on my nerves. she got involved with a classmate in order to piss off her professor, but that classmate apparently took advice from ana’s ex boyfriend as to “how she likes to be treated in the bedroom” and went on to sexually assault her. and yes, i most definitely believe she was sexually assault, ana even asks herself is she was being assaulted in the moment. the kicker, though, is that she gets back with this guy and almost acts as if nothing happened, and i was absolutely not okay with that. also, why do we need to add in the fact that ana almost exclusively only kisses women when she’s drunk or playing spin the bottle? i’m not even joking when i say this is a direct quote from ana herself, and it felt so disgusting. however, she then makes a move on her girl best friend and makes out with her just to prove a point or something? if this is the bisexual rep that was inching its way into ana’s character arc, she can keep it. i absolutely hate how bisexuality has become a fetish and is being used as an attention grabber. it’s nasty behaviour and it’s not funny or cute. she admitted to kissing her as a distraction from noah and other things going on, so that felt especially gross to me.

i don’t even know what to say about the mmc, noah, but he most definitely felt like he was supposed to be christian grey. i mean, the man had scars on his body and liked to treat women a certain way in the bedroom, AND said he can’t offer ana love or kindness, which is exactly what christian did. and come on, the fmc’s full name is anastasia, so am i really off the mark here? the way he spoke to ana during the spicy scenes felt extremely disgusting, and not to get technical, but neither of them are virgins, so why would ana be bleeding during sex? and no, she wasn’t on her period. the odd fixation noah had with going so hard on her that she bled during sex was vile. i hated it. more on the spicy scenes, aftercare was treated as a transaction at a specific point in the book and it made me so uncomfortable. ana agreed to tell noah about her ex so long as he stayed in the bathroom with her after she was recovering from a spicy session with him when he was going to leave her there and do god knows what somewhere else. oh, and there was no safe word discussed until page 348 btw. this line “in most scenarios, he’d walk away. he’d let the woman clean herself up, gather her things, and disappear like all the others” made me feel all types of negative things, and the fact that ana was the exception to this unspoken rule of his hurt my heart, and not in a good way. noah was truly horrible to her, yet she kept coming back. ana even said he’s a manipulator and not a good person, but she went back to him anyway, even after he slapped her across the face (yes, he slapped her across the face for some godforsaken reason).

ana’s friends were tolerable until her guy best friend essentially said she deserved the sexual assault, and as soon as i clocked that, i hated him from that point on. megan, ana’s girl best friend, let ana’s ex get under her skin and was willingly talking to him about something she shouldn’t have been talking to him about. she shouldn’t even be talking to him in the first place because he’s a horrible person and treated ana horribly, but whatever. there are a few chapters with these character’s (elijah and megan) povs that felt entirely unnecessary to have, because i don’t feel like they added anything to the story.

some other things i despised were the use of “teacher” in place of “professor”, the small details that didn’t make sense for a college setting, and how unprofessional some things were, especially the way noah spoke to ana in front of a classroom full of students.

the tropes and concept of this book were very enticing to me, hence why i applied for the arc, but the execution went poorly. it also came to light that the author used AI for artwork, whether it was character art or cover art, but by now everyone should be aware of how horrible AI is and why we shouldn’t be using it, so the apology that was issued just isn’t enough. i was looking forward to reading this author’s other work, but will no longer be doing so due to the use of AI and my feelings toward this book.

thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this e-arc.

So this book hasn’t been released. It’s 3-10 and this author hasn’t released ARCs. So that 1 star that’s there, that’s someone who has issues.

Wow, I can’t believe how fast I finished this book this should tell you how good this book was. I was picked to arc read this and I am so greatfull. This book had everything, the plot, the characters, the spice it was just amazing.

Daddy Noah is my favourite as you can tell he was just deliciously hot.

Ana, she’s my baby I absolutely loved her from the very first page to the last. I loved how confident and strong she was and how she brought ( quite literally) Noah to his knees.

If you love dark romance books with teacher/student, age gap, forbidden love this book is for you. Please check the trigger warnings before you do.

Thank you Katerina for an arc of this story in exchange for a review!

I ate this shit up - and when i say that, i mean i read this book so quickly (its fast paced for 500 pages), and it was also kinda shit 🧍‍♀️

TLDR: This author was correctly accused of using AI for her books, she admitted it, then gave a weak apology that left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't plan to support her moving forward but read this book anyway. The book is full of inconsistencies, things that make no sense, and several somewhat unoriginal characters that cant decide what personality they want to have.

---

Backstory: 2 days after this author sent out arcs, she was correctly accused of using AI. She eventually admitted to using AI on her IG page for the art on the cover of all of her books, and the interior art we saw in the ARC's (and i assume in her other books). She apologized for not knowing how it could impact real artists. I appreciate her apology, but i didnt personally accept it. Im also unsure if she used AI for her writing, and its definitely a concern. After that i thought about skipping this arc because i dont want to support AI, but opted to read it anyway and fill my promise.

I LOVE taboo romance and teacher/student vibes. But this book was not for me. Not only was it not for me, but i am so confused how it has so many 5 stars, that i genuinely feel like ive maybe lost my mind. Now because i dont like leaving bad reviews, but i genuinely feel like i have non-mean critiques for anyone curious.

---

Here are some mostly spoiler free quotes that left me very confused:

"I'm sure you would have loved for me to cling to your every word," I taunt, the sarcasm dripping from my voice. "But I’m sure you'll find plenty of eager students ready to become your teacher's pet," I grin.”

Girl. You just met him and you’re a freshmen. In what world would you disrespect your professor in sentence 1 of meeting when he wasn’t even rude to you? And what leads you to think this?? Also mentioning that he “looks like something from a dark academia Pinterest board” was a choice by the author for sure. It felt like the author wanted ths fmc to be a "brat" for the bdsm aspect of the story so they just made her rude? Because she wasn't like that to her friends or her ex boyfriend who was bullying her on the previous page.

"The only way anyone gets me to listen to them is when my wrists are bound to a headboard," I sneer, throwing the sexual imagery at him, hoping to rattle him.”

Who speaks like that. But what’s worse is she later says she did that to “rattle him” only for on the next page you get nervous from your nipples sticking out in the cold room lmao. Its just more of the author forcing this fmc into being a brat, but also writing her as some small shy person. Its confusing and constantly gave me whiplash -

“So flustered that I’m starting to overheat, I quickly tug off my hoodie. Looking down at my choice of clothing beneath it, ... it doesn’t take long to realize just how badly I should have worn a bra, given the chilly weather. With my larger breasts, the material clings to my skin, and my nipples are clearly visible through it. Paired with dark sweatpants that hug my curves and my larger ass, the outfit feels more suited for bed than for being out in public around my peers.”

---

Let the record show these are all from chapters 1 and 2. I almost DNF'd after that, but decided to continue just to see if it got better. I highlighted so many aspects that made no sense or contradicted themselves within the story. I also realized about halfway in this book is really just like 50 shades of grey mixed with idk, a mafia book?? With your scarred mmc who is triggered by emotions and touch also like in a secret society but also hates love, but also loves this random girl he knows nothing about. I mean the fmc is named Anastasia be so real rn. (Also Forgive Me Father is just a darker version of Priest if we're being honest here)

ALSO, Ana has two of the worst friends i have EVER seen in a book. Thats not a critique of the author or the writing, i just mean i HATED those guys the ENTIRE book. There was some weird homophobia/internalized lgbt trauma going down with them and i just was not feeling it what so ever lol. It felt SO random??? and just really odd to add in there for this particular plot.

---

Overall:

All of this being said, i hope the author genuinely fixes her issues moving forward in regards to the content she puts out and AI. This review makes me sad but i felt like these were not just things i "didn't like" it was stuff the legitimately made me question the integrity of the story as a whole. She admitted to using AI on her art, whos to say the inconsistencies in this book aren't because of AI writing/editing as well. I mean there was an actual smut paragraph where Anas hands were tied to a headboard, and 2 paragraphs later she was shown "grabbing Noahs dick" to put inside of her, and then a paragraph later we were reminded her hands were somehow still bound tight to the headboard? Pls, editors, i beg.

And I say all this with no hate towards the author, as negative as this review is. but I just think this wasn’t for me. Additionally i am removing her other books from my tbr because of her use of AI, and because I feel like if she wasn’t caught and called out, she would have continued happily using it. I also dont particularly enjoy how she apologized, said she would be changing all of her book covers, but still uses the AI covers in her socials across platform and promotes the sale of those covers.

---

Other recommendations:

If this book interests you, but the AI aspect of the author don't, and you want something with a similar dom/sub, professor/student vibe, check out Nocticadia by Keri Lake. There’s no cnc or blood play, but it checks a lot of the other boxes this one would have. Or hell, just read 50 shades of gray. Its also the same.

I so appreciate the opportunity to have read this ARC ❤️

The pros:
🔥spicy
🔥spicy
🔥spicy
🔥fast moving plot
🔥mmc noah is hot af
🔥did I mention spicy?

The misses:
It was waaaay too instalove. (Personally I need yearning and professor x student feels like the best trope for there to be some yearning) here there was not enough of a relationship buildup whatsoever to justify the extreme risks they were taking in public putting their job/education on the line.

I also found the fmc to be one dimensional & all of her interactions with other characters were unrealistic (from her bff being in love with her, her ex & classmate just being straight up serial killer insane toward her, and her very unprofessional conversations with the other teacher, mrs briar) - there was just a level of suspended disbelief when reading this plot, bc it truly wouldn’t be happening irl.

Overall, this was a fast paced, fun, spicy read, and if you just want to enjoy your time with a hottie professor, id say give this one a shot! I’ve chosen not to give this book a star rating bc its prior to publication day, and just bc I didn’t jive with it, I wouldnt want to persaude others not to give it a try. That pros list might have really appealed to some, and if that’s the case dive in head first girlie!! Just bc I had some misses, doesnt mean you will too :)

I always believe that to judge an author you must read two books from them. Luckily my friend picked up Forgive Me Father this past Christmas for us to read. That was dog wash. But I saw her new book Teacher’s Pet was just released in March and thought you know what I’ll give it a try.

This story was better. Characters were more like able and the only theme I like from both book (imperfect victim) was present here as well. I can see her starting to make these themed books tie into a series by linking the books to the vigilante group Catalyst which I thought was interesting. Even though writing Roman as the savior AGAIN in this book was a let down. Now in my last review I was very harsh on the book so let me be more fair here.

The last book ends with Eden and Roman in Scotland having their first child, now they are back in America? But Eden has tenure at a university (that’s written like a high school). Roman can go where ever he pleases at said university? The Mexican Cartel wasn’t even a big plot point here and they don’t usually get involved with mafia in the US so why bring it up? Also the hit and run? The plot is a mess.

Also Eden getting involved in the relationship is weird, I would’ve like Ana and Noah to figure it out alone. Also all the religious motifs are out of place in this book this book I thought this was a teacher romance? People don’t act the way her characters act and nothing about this book was dark and scandalous. It was kinda washed and lack luster. Build your plot and have a couple of intimate scenes where you feel the sacrilegious tension from the characters. We also get POV chapters from everyone in this book and yet I can’t figure what the hell they are thinking.

Katerina St Clair, you have the ability to write, you have the technical skills to write and clearly the imagination to write. So please pick up a pen and write. Stop writing 10 books a year with AI (I checked even though it’s obvious) and focus on 1 book and really enjoy and focus on your craft. This book is 35 bucks just type into character.ai dark teacher romance and you get the same outcome.

I think I need to go to church after reading this 😅😅😅

My Review of Teacher’s Pet

I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC) of Teacher’s Pet by Katerina St. Clair, and as someone who has never read romance before, let alone a dark and twisted one, I knew I was stepping into unfamiliar territory. I wouldn’t consider myself a romance reader, but I wanted to approach this book with an open mind and an unbiased perspective—which is exactly how I’ve framed this review.

While Teacher’s Pet is marketed as a dark, obsessive, and fast-paced story, it wasn’t my personal style of book. However, I can absolutely see how many dark romance readers will devour this for the intensity, tension, and wild unpredictability of the plot.

⚖️ The Unbiased Take

There are two major critiques I had while reading:

1️⃣ Insta-Lust & Fast Development – The romance in this book falls into what many readers call “insta-lust”—an immediate, overwhelming attraction or obsession between characters. As someone who prefers slow-burn tension that builds over time, I found this aspect difficult to connect with. This is especially true in a student-teacher dynamic, where a gradual progression could have added more depth and tension.

2️⃣ Unrealistic Interactions – The setting and character dynamics sometimes felt too exaggerated for a contemporary setting. For example, some interactions between teachers and students pushed believability to the point where I couldn’t help but think, there’s no way this would ever slide in real life. This differs from how fantasy books (e.g., Zodiac Academy) can establish unique world rules that justify extreme dynamics. Here, there was no such explanation—it just was, which made some scenes feel detached from reality.

However, if you’re a reader who doesn’t mind suspending disbelief for the sake of drama and intensity, then this won’t be an issue at all. This is the kind of book that leans into the chaos, the high stakes, and the morally grey characters, and for many, that’s the exact appeal.

📖 What Did Work

✅ Pacing & Plot Twists – One thing this book undeniably has is momentum. Even as someone who doesn’t typically read this genre, I found myself wanting to know what happens next. The book doesn’t waste time lingering—it keeps moving, always pulling the reader toward the next dramatic turn.

✅ Writing Style & Emotional Impact – One of the reasons I loved the Order series was Katerina St. Clair’s writing style, and that remains true here. Even in scenes I personally found unrealistic, the way emotions, dialogue, and intensity were written felt impactful. She writes in a way that makes you feel things—whether that’s shock, intrigue, or disbelief.

✅ Dark, Raw, & Unfiltered – If you’re someone who enjoys books that don’t hold back, that push boundaries, and that take risks with the narrative, Teacher’s Pet delivers. The rawness of St. Clair’s writing is something I can always appreciate, even when certain aspects don’t align with my personal reading taste.

🏷 Final Thoughts

This book wasn’t for me—but that doesn’t mean it won’t be for you. If you love dark, obsessive romance with fast pacing, high tension, and morally questionable dynamics, this will likely be an addictive read.

I won’t be giving a star rating because I don’t think it would be fair to rate a book outside my usual reading preferences. What I can say is that I respect St. Clair’s ability to craft intensity, her fearlessness in storytelling, and the way she makes her characters unapologetically raw.

If you’re a romance reader looking for something dark and chaotic, this might just be your next wild ride! And even as someone who doesn’t typically read romance, I can’t deny that I’m already curious about what happens next.

I got an arc, but my rating/review are my own!

Wow!!! I have all the books of the author to read but only after starting this one did i see that it was part of a interconnected standalones. I was even going to pause the book and start the other one but I was to excited to continue 😅😅 if you are interested in reading "forgive me father" I recommend reading that one first then.

I wanted more of their sex dynamic, like the toy play i was expecting so much more😭😭

This book can be to insta-love and I've heard the first one is the same. So if it's something you don't like maybe will not be for you, I don't mind that much in this case because I'm totally okay with lust first👀👀

I think I didn't enjoy this one as much I thought i would because of the "cringe" scenes, and that is totally on me because I don't really like romance 😅😅. Like he made a letter for her and that was to cringe for me 😭😭

but I did like their dynamic, the banter, sex scenes (that I wish we had more👀) even the plot that I wasn't expecting

Quotes:
"-what? Scared? You looked so confident when you were on your knees for me, teasing me as your lips touched my cock."
••
"-Then get on your knees, and beg for me.

-what?

-you heard me. Get on your fucking knees and beg for me." ••°I love a woman in power👀👀

(Don't ask why my quotes are all sex related👀😓)

Tropes:
☆student x professor
☆age gap
☆sadist x masochist
☆knife play
☆toy play
☆multi povs

Found this book at an independent romance book store & started reading it on the plane back and it caught my attention from beginning to end.

Teacher x student , forbidden, age gap, a strong fmc, & sprinkle in a little mystery.

Ana starts off being blackmailed / controlled by her ex boyfriend and trying to put the pieces back to her life while it seems to be crumbling around her. She gets into a verbal spar with the new English professor. They keep this back and forth thing going each time taking a step further into the land of the forbidden 👀 People in their lives start to find out and it pushes them to separate but SO MANY things happen in between.

The relationship between Noah & Ana .. the way they understand each other in ways they haven’t allowed for anyone else to.

The story behind the blackmail.

First book by this author and would definitely read something else by her.

Devoured this book in a couple of hours 🙃

If you want a filthy smut book, here you go. I didn't realize there was a book before this (Forgive Me Father). You don't need to read that, but the main characters from that story are in this one, and I wish I read it first.

I stayed up until 3:30 AM to finish the book 🤣

🍎ARC Review🍎

Teachers Pet had me gripped from the very beginning! The very forbidden relationship just grasps you and makes want more and more! With the added suspense of Ana and Noah having their own demons and dark pasts you just want to keep reading to unveil everything. The spice….my goodness!!! The man that Noah Ackerman is!!! The drama in this book was top tier and had my grabbing my popcorn and watching everything unfold so chaotically! Of course this is the second book in The Shadows of Darkness Universe series and we get to see Eden and Roman from the first book Forgive Me Father! These are interconnected standalones with intertwining characters. Did i start with book two? Maybe. Don’t judge me… i was not lost whatsoever and am incredibly excited to go back and start Roman and Eden’s story. THAT ENDING??? Just when you think all is calm and well👀 im so excited for what’s to come from this series!!!

This is my first time reading anything from this author. Thank you, Katerina St Clair for the ARC. (Teacher’s Pet will be available on March 31st)

I’m not entirely sure where to start or how to feel about this. The vibes were vibing and it was certainly a fun read if I ignored a few things. The spice was fantastic and I enjoyed some of the plot. But this was a very insta-lust, no chemistry outside of immediate hardcore sex which made the “we are finally going to acknowledge that we love each other” moment very silly because they literally just have sex. The characters were all a bit flat as well.

I also have so many issues with the writing. At first I tried to ignore it but towards the end I found myself skimming just to avoid some of the writing quirks that I found irritating. There were certain phrases or words used back to back repeatedly throughout the story. For example, a sentence ends in “without hesitation” and the next sentence starts with “with zero hesitation”. Another example, a sentence that ends with “that leave little to the imagination.” and the literal next sentence then says “that leaves little to the imagination”. Phrases like “voice laced with” and “he/she/i hissed” every other time anyone said anything like she couldn’t figure out any other ways to express characters speaking. It was incredibly hard to not focus on those things.

I originally gave this 3 stars but I think that was a little generous. Im giving it 2 stars because while I did have fun with it at first, the writing became so unbearable after a point that I skimmed the last 20%.

And the last chapter was so cute I actually squealed. Baby Eve reminds me of my sister. I need the next book like now. Def check it out if you like it dark. 10/10

Just received the ARC. Can't wait to finish reading and reviewing this.

OMG. I JUST FINISHED IT! MORE LIKE DEVOURED IT!
The story was so beautiful. I always had a thing for age gap forbidden romance, and this one delivered perfectly. I am in love with Noah and Ana. They are goals!! A hot professor and his beautiful student? Count me in!!
At first I thought Jake would be mildly nice, but nope! He is a douchebag.
Cole and Walker? I hate them with all I have.
Megan and Elijah are the friends I would like to see in every girl's life.
Now, let me gush over Roman and Eden. They are my favorite. All these cute interactions between them warmed my heart. Noah and Roman are so bro-coded. I can't wait to see what happens later in Catalyst.
Although, I am more curious now about Echo. He will get his own book!!!! I will gladly sign up for that arc as well. Dying to know the FMC!!

4.5!

Ugh this was so good and hot!!! I love love love the professor student trope I blame it on the raging crush I had on my philosophy professor. I love Katerina’s writing because she will take a trope and add other storylines as well so it’s not JUST a dark romance but there will be a whole other side plot that makes it so juicy and entertaining! I loved seeing Roman & Eden again as well omfg I would sell a kidney for Roman but also I’m addicted to Noah (why choose? 🤭🤣) and after that ending ?!!! I need the next book like I need air!!

Thank you so much Katerina for an ARC copy of this book! 💗

Teacher’s Pet by Katerina St. Clair is a dark, twisty, and NSFW romance. Anastasia Burns is a freshman at Spokehaven University. She has a lot weighing one her with her dad’s illness and the history with her ex-boyfriend Cole. He is holding a secret over head that would ruin her life if it got out. The MMC Noah Ackerman is a new professor, with secrets and a dark past. Their first meeting is far from a meet-cue but sparks do fly when they argue. Ana is surprised is expecting an old boring professor when Noah walks in practically yelling at her. Noah doesn’t understand his fascination and reaction to Ana. He’s never reacted to a woman this way before. Later, Noah finds Ana seeking solace in a hidden corner of the library and things heat up quickly. Noah is addicted exerting dominance and causing pain with pleasure and Ana enjoys challenging him. He knows it’s a bad idea to pursue Ana, but he can’t help himself. Soon their relationship is threatened with adversaries threatening to expose them and Ana’s safety. Noah’s past comes back to haunt him when his brother contacts Noah and threatens Ana if he doesn’t gather information on a rival in Spokehaven. To protect her Noah is forced to end things and he brutally breaks her heart shattering their relationship. The web of secrets and lies gets bigger and bigger as the story continues. At times, the timeframe of events and story continuity was hard to follow. Told in first person, dual pov, but there were a couple chapters told from her best friend’s povs that added too much information. It would have flowed better if told through dialogue instead. Katerina St. Clair crafted a dark and NSFW romance with mystery and mayhem that dominated the page. The spice pure is smut with a heavy dose of dominance.

I’d like to thank Katerina St. Clair for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of Teacher’s Pet.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC from the author, but all opinions are my own.

I finished the book, but I wished I just let myself DNF it. Noah & Ana felt like insta lust. There was no build up. WHERE IS THE YEARNING FOR THE FORBIDDEN LOVE INTEREST? The going from being SA’d to immediately using the same guy as a way to get at Noah felt icky. The only kissing girls when drunk? That was gross and was not okay. It also felt forced, just to add something to her character. How about the bleeding after/during sex being normal? That IS NOT normal. Elijah’s and Megan’s POV were so random? There was no need. Yes Noah had trauma, but he’s not a good person? Even his “redemption” arc felt forced.

The dedication also sat unwell with me:

“For all the girls who were jealous of Aria Montgomery. This one is for you.”

I understand the intent behind it, but we’re all grown up enough to realize that that relationship was in absolute no way okay. I don’t think it should be glamorized in this way.

I like age gap romances, but fresh in college and 30? That still sits icky with me I’ve realized.

I’m grateful to have received the arc. I was truly excited for this book based on the snippets and tropes. I was disappointed after reading it to see the news of the author’s use of AI. The promo art I’d been seeing and liked? AI. I admit, I do feel a bit ashamed I did not catch it was AI. Knowing though now, I can’t ignore it, nor can I really trust the author. Someone has to knowingly make a choice to use AI - not a small topic in the book community. How am I to know AI wasn’t used to help write? I’m sorry, but that’s all I could think about.

Anastasia is going to school at the university where her father made a name for himself but after his diagnosis of cancer, he left his career behind. Now Ana is forced to carry the weight of his legacy while trying to avoid her dangerous ex.

Noah Ackerman is the hot, motorcycle riding professor who is trying to make a life of his own and distance himself from his past. Who really is Noah Ackerman?

If you're looking for a slow burn/build up, this one wont be for you. This was very much an insta-lust and we get spicy quick. I did feel like a more gradual progression could have added more depth or tension especially in the teacher/student relationship.

The pacing of this book was perfect. There wasn't a moment that lingered too long or breezed past to quickly. I was constantly on the edge of my seat ready to discover the next twist or turn.

Katerina knows how to keep you emotionally invested. The emotions were intense and impactful. This book had me laughing out loud, crying, and staring at my imaginary camera man in shock.

Overall, I devoured this book. I had so much fun and got to imerse myself in a fantasy that I've had since watching Pretty Little Liars.

I don't encourage the use of AI for character or cover art and I'm having mixed emotions about the admission to using AI. I genuinely hope that she has learned and actively works to do better. I'm disappointed because I truly enjoyed Teachers Pet so much that I wanted to continue to read this authors work but I now feel conflicted about it.

If it weren't for that, this would have easily been a 3.5 or 4 star read for me.

If you’re wanting a fast burn, touch her & die, with a badass FMC.. then look no further.

Katerina does 2 things exceptionally well:
- Write some hot ass smut.
- Always shining light on her FMC’s and never making them small or incapable of handling their own shit.

This is the second book in her Shadows of Darkness Universe. And who doesn’t love a good professor/student trope?! We get to follow to the highs and lows of Noah Ackerman & Ana Burns throughout this incredibly addicting story. Fast love, fierce emotions, and a dark past haunting our little Ana. It was exceptionally nice of Katerina to give little gift to us readers and grace us with the presence of Roman and Eden once again (Read Forgive Me Father who you need to know who!!)

Their story had me DEVOURING this and all for it to end on a “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!” (In the best way) because now we have to wait for book three to meet our newest (old) friend: Echo. Ugh, I’m so excited.

+ I will add that the book does feel like it could use one more editorial glance over, BUT I’m not entirely a stickler about that. It was still easy to read and follow along with. I also feel as if almost all KINDLE books read like they’re not the final edit- especially when they’re not trad published. Does this make the story less deserving or desirable? No. Some of y’all need to learn how to just simple enjoy a read for reading- I’m looking at you “I don’t like to low-review, low-rate books.. buuuutt” either own it or don’t.

I have always been a die hard Pretty Little Liers fan (Both book series and tv show) And when I tell you yes, I wanted to be Aria👀 i jumped at the chance to read Teachers Pet!

The push/pull between Noah and Anastasia is absolutely tantalizing. The chemistry is incredibly electric! The tension will keep you hanging on to every word! There was just enough spice to be mouth-watering, yet it didn't take away from the plot as a whole.

Katerina has crafted such a well-executed storyline that balances secrecy and passion perfectly! The thrill of the forbidden adds an irresistible allure to the romance and, quite frankly, had me melting!🫠

And OMFG, I'm in love with Eden and Roman's cameo in this book! I love that we get to see how Forgive Me Father and Teachers Pet crossover😍

The Shadows Of Darkness Universe is shaping up to be my favorite series!!! The crossover elements, the sizzling romance, and the jaw-dropping plot twists, 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend to anyone who loves a good forbidden romance that keeps you guessing until the very end!

Oh, and speaking of endings…what? WHAT?! I am still in utter shock!🤯

I. Ate. This. Up. No crumbs, I licked the plate clean😋
