Verte de jalousie

Rate this book

I read this wonderful book this school year it's called The Green-Eyed-Monster written by Lisa Fiedler. The story begins with a girl walking to a pond she saw something weird so she went to go see what it was but as she got there it was gone. Then as she was walking home there was a new girl in town, her name is Taler. As when Taler went to school she has been acting weird people didn't know what to think of her. I liked this book because there is a mystery that you cant figure out until the end. If you like mystery or school books you will like this one.

I cannot say that I'm particularly impressed with this book - it reads like a kiddy version of the film "The Craft" and places more of an emphasis on "girly" subjects like clothing and shopping that I couldn't have cared less about when I was the age of the girls in the book (12), much less when I was in the 8-10 range that is the target audience. The vocabulary is appropriate and a few clumsy vocab lessons are slipped in, but on the whole, this isn't a book I'll recommend to my pseudo-nieces or library.

Short and snappy with fascinating characters but lacked spooky appeal. If you want a better story with creepier elements dealing with the same archetype of a mysterious, jealous friend, I highly recommend Her Evil Twin by Mimi McCoy. That book was written for middle schoolers but gave me the shivers.

In this book, I liked the idea and the concept but it felt like the protagonist defeated the evil villain way too quickly. If she struggled a bit more against a thousand year old curse, I would believe it.

I think this story was amazing. It was about a girl Taylor, she had just moved from Salem, she always wore a choker except for gym, because the coach wouldn't let her, but it turns out the choker made her jealous, Chole ( the main character) figured it out, and she got so jealous she couldn't stop, so Chole shot her in the heart, she didn't die, the only thing that died was her jealous

This book was creepily similar to my real life. The main character’s best friends have the initials K and A. There’s a girl named Jennifer Thomas. It’s set in a small town in Massachusetts. The main character does theatre (I used to, at least!) The writing wasn’t the best, but I love anything to do with Salem and curses and ghost, so this was awesome!

I adored these Poison Apple books as a kid, but they really don't hold up in the way other middle grade books do. This was fine, nothing particularly special.

This is part of the Poison Apple book series. There is a magic necklace in this book that reminded me of the one in Miss Fortune (another Poison Apple Book) by Brandi Dougherty. In The Green-Eyed Monster a new girl is welcomed into a group at school, but is she trustworthy?

“Oh no....It’s the Green-Eyed Monster.” Sam and Chloe are in serious danger. Once the Green-Eyed Monster is lit up with envy, Sam and Chloe’s time would slowly run out...As the monster gets stronger, the crystal in a heart shape that hung from a choker gets hotter, it is left a mystery of what the choker does. Is the Green-Eyed Monster unstoppable? Or will Sam and Chloe be the heroes of the century? You’ll find out sooner or later, after reading The Green-Eyed Monster. A book mixed with adventures, friendship, and a bit of spooks.
This book is a not-too-hard or a not-too-easy book, so it would be a great book for kids at all ages, but overall this book is just full of surprises! As much as I like the book, some of the story’s plot can be a little boring for some people. I give this book ★★★★! I would recommend this book for kids that like action, adventures, and friendship books. I hope you enjoy this book!

This was a super short book with only 176 pages in it, but it was dicriptive and interesting and that's all I can really ask for in a book.
