From a beautiful new voice in contemporary romance comes a charming, heartwarming Christmas story, perfect for fans of RaeAnne Thayne, Denise Hunter, and Debbie Macomber.

Professional ballet dancer Amelia Collins is blindsided when an accident results in a career-ending injury.

White Bridge’s irresistible holiday traditions—sledding under twinkle lights, a ride on the holiday express train, and cutting down a live evergreen at the town’s tree farm—put Amelia in the festive spirit. Adding to the magic, she discovers an old European coin with a story while loading some boxes into her attic. A story that might upend everything.

Lindsay Gibson’s The Christmas Coin is a dual timeline story which the author does so well. I’m a big fan of small town romances, especially when they are set during the holiday season. The small town is so beautifully described you can picture the farmhouse and the quaint town. This charming story weaves together the warmth of small-town life with a woman determined to start over and solve the mystery of an old European coin she discovers in the farmhouse. A wonderful edition to a reader’s Christmas collection of stories. Thank you to Harpeth Road Press and author Lindsay Gibson for my advanced readers copy which I voluntary read and reviewed.

When her ballet career is ended by an injury Amelia Collins has to decide what is next. Not an easy decision when all you have know your whole life, so far, is ballet. She has always been interested in the possibility of doing up an old home and when one appears on a website for such homes, that she has been looking at for a couple of year, she jumps at the opportunity.
Moving from the city of New Haven to White Bridge, Connecticut is a big move but one she is excited for. She loves the house from her first viewing and with only a few weeks to Christmas she is excited to see what her new home and town will bring her. On one of her first days there whilst in town getting supplies, she is drawn into the first of many Christmas events the town hosts. There are girls from the local ballet school performing so she stops to congratulate them on their performance and has a word with their ballet teacher. She is recognised and asked if she would come and help out with the schools ballet classes, she agrees and finds herself helping Ava, the young girl who is dancing the lead role in the Nutcracker – the very role Amelia was also due to dance this Christmas. Working with Ava is a joy, it also brings her into contact with Ava’s dad Ben who will be helping to renovate her house.
Amelia is drawn into the family’s and the towns Christmas events and traditions, will this Christmas be better than she hoped? Whilst clearing out part of the house Amelia finds an old European coin and is determined to find out more about it. Could this coin provide answers about the house or could it disrupt peoples lives?
I loved the dual timeline of the story, it was good to read how the coin got to the house and what it meant to each member of the family that received it. Amelia was a great character, her determination to buy the house and renovate it was enjoyable to read about. I liked her interactions with Ava, her younger bubblier sister and her Dad, she helped them all when they needed it and they brought her into their family group helping Amelia feel settled. Amelia’s own family were so full of love and wanted the best for her. The storyline concerning her twin brother was so well written and well thought out.
This was a great Christmas read and one you can snuggle up with one afternoon with a hot cuppa, a cosy blanket, have the tree lights twinkling and just get lost in the story.

A dual timeline story that alternates between 1870 and present day, Amelia. Both lost souls that have to carve out their new life after suffering from tragedy! Can they find happiness again? How does a coin connect them?

Ellen O’Shea immigrates to America and loses her husband on the voyage over to typhus. She finds out soon after living in America that she is pregnant. Through her grief, can she make a new life and find happiness again? Once we learn about Ellen and how she passes the coin that was her husband’s down to her son, we learn how the coin is passed down for future generations until it lands in the hands of Amelia.

Amelia, professional ballet dancers receives two heartbreaking news on the same day. That her ballet carrier is over and that her twin brother with leukemia is not going to survive. Amelia buys an old farm house to be closer to her family. She discovers a coin at the house and begins to investigate. She wants to know more. Will this bring her the luck she needs? What’s next for Amelia? Will she find happiness again?

A heartfelt and entertaining story on love loss and starting over! It’s remarkable how a family heirloom, a coin, brought luck for many generations! I enjoyed both timelines and loved how Amelia found Ellen’s family coin! Which set Amelia on her own journey of discovery! Perfect for book clubs as this book will lead to many interesting discussions!

Amelia Collins loved to dance in the ballet, it was a lifelong dream of hers.  After a life altering injury that ended her career she has to decide what to do next.  She leaves her life in the city and moves to Connecticut.  She decides to buy an old farmhouse in the country, in the small quaint village of White Bridge.  She has a lot of remodeling to do and she is very determined to do it.  White Bridge hangs on to their holiday traditions, with everything from sledding to cutting down live Christmas trees.  This is exactly what she needs to get in the Christmas spirit. When she finds an old European coin in the dusty old attic of her farmhouse she wonders about the story behind it.  Benjamin Walsh is in charge of her remodel and soon finds out about the coin.  As the mystery of the coin comes to light, Amelia knows that everything happens for a reason and she is exactly where she is meant to be.

The Christmas Coin, written by author Lindsay Gibson is a phenomenal story of healing and starting a new beginning. This festive story is every bit as wonderful as her previous novels.  She is wonderful at pulling the reader immediately into the story and never letting go.  I was so heartbroken for Amelia and her injury and then I cheered her on to find a new light of peace and hope in her life.  I enjoyed the mystery of the story behind the coin, what an amazing storyline.  I read this unputdownable book in one sitting and it will stay in my heart for a very long time. I loved everything about this enchanting and phenomenal book. This time slip novel is one that I give a ten star rating and I highly recommend it.  It would make for a wonderful Christmas gift.

Another Christmas Gift

As usual, Lindsay Gibson has delivered a beautiful story for Christmas. Her book is so beautifully written that I know exactly what each character looks like, each scene, and feel all the feelings she writes so beautifully. My only “complaint” is that I finished it and now I have to wait for her next one!

Amelia Collins, a professional ballerina had a life altering injury which ended her career. All she has ever known is dance and is at a loss of how to move forward. She has always wanted to live in the country, so when she sees a listing in White Bridge, Connecticut, for a 1870’s farmhouse, she quickly makes an offer.

When she arrives, she feels like she has walked into a movie. The small town is decorated for the holidays and the townsfolk are so welcoming. It isn’t long before she is wrapped up in the holiday festivities. When she accidentally runs into the towns dance teacher, Amelia is soon helping out the students at the dance academy. She also meets one of the student’s father, Ben Walsh and they quickly strike up a friendship. Will their friendship move to the next level? What will happen when Amelia finds out the dance studio has to close? How will the coin that Amelia finds in the farmhouse change their lives?

This was such a lovely novel by Lindsay Gibson. The characters were so well written that you can not help but love them. The small town was described so beautifully that you could just see yourself at the farmhouse and walking through the quaint town of White Bridge. This novel was just the thing to get me into the holiday spirit. My thanks to Harpeth Road Press and the author Lindsay Gibson for my advanced readers copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Grab a hot cocoa and curl up with a beautiful Christmas story.

Our past defines us even if we do not fully understand it at the time. However, the future provides second chances and opportunities we never dreamt of if we only dare to dream. This sums up a lot of what this amazing story entails.

Amelia Collins is a professional ballerina who has a career ending injury. She is completely lost as to what to do with her life. She decides she needs some new scenery which is how she ends up in White Bridge Connecticut. She purchases an old country home which was built in the 1800's. It needs a lot of work, but it has so much potential. A family heirloom (a coin) takes her on a journey into the past.

As Amelia enjoys the wonderful traditions of her new town and getting to know a mysterious man, Benjamin Walsh, she finds herself seeing a glimmer of hope for the future.

The dual timeline takes you back to the original owners of house which tells a unique story. Second chances, losses and newfound hope make this a wonderful edition to a reader's Christmas collection of stories. It is an emotional read with ups and downs, but even with the sad times, you will still finish it with a smile on your face.

Thank you to Harpeth Press for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Good things can still happen even after you lose what you love best.
Amelia, a professional ballerina, is forced into early retirement after an injury. To start life anew, she moves into a rural fixer-upper house with a rich past. The former owners have passed a rare coin from bride to bride during their Christmas weddings. The coin is said to bring good luck. Although Amelia seems to have no luck, she tries to see the other side of the coin, aka., the lucky side and turns her passion from dancing into teaching dance. There she meets Ava, a 14-year-old aspiring ballerina and Ava's father, Ben, the main love interest in this story and a widower raising two daughters. Things get a rocky start between the two main characters, making the story interesting. The setting is realistically portrayed, and if you're not up on ballet lingo, you will be after reading this!

This book was exactly what I needed to read recently! With a small town Connecticut setting and the holiday season, it gave me all of the cozy and heartwarming. There were some topics that could be triggering mentioned throughout, but I loved watching Amelia grow on the pages and seeing the support of her family. With the main storyline following Amelia as she renovates an older home, there is a secondary storyline occurring through flashbacks. I also enjoyed watching the romance unfold on the pages. Thank you to Harpeth Road for an advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Lots of Tears !

A whole box of tissues while reading this one . Happy tears , sad tears, tears from giggling and then even more . This book is fantastic! Lindsey Gibson is an author you will definitely want to follow . The storyline is fascinating how it easily blends from past to present but oh have the tissues handy because only A hard hearted Hannah could read this one without gasps of excitement , delight, concern ,sadness and joy. Such a great story it’s been told perfectly. This one is one you will not want to miss .

Another four paw book! Simba found this to be a purrfectly charming New England Christmas read, complete with the purrfect feline character, Mocha!!

If you are fans of Christmas Fiction, small town fiction, and Hallmark Christmas movies you do not want to miss out on Amelia and Ben's story as they find their road to romance. A sweet, sentimental journey that will have you not wanting to put this book down til the very end.

I was able to read this book on my Kindle unlimited.

A delightful heart warming Christmas romance in a dual timeline involving the Christmas coin from 1870's to present day. Amelia, a ballerina has an ending career injury and decides to move to a small town. This is where she finds starting over is possible with new friends and still with the love of ballet. Loved all the Christmas traditions and how important family is. This is my first book by Lindsay Gibson, and looking forward to reading more.

I really liked the present day storyline. Amelia and Ben both got a chance to grow throughout the book. Julia and Ava were delightful and actually acted their age. The relationships had their ups and downs, which made them more realistic. However, I wish the author had stuck to one timeline in the past instead of hopping through the generations. Since most characters only received a few pages, I never connected with them.

Beautiful story

I love a good Christmas romance story. A bit of the past mixed with the pressure dsy, a story was told about a special coin. Now a new occupant is going to make this a Christmas story with a very happy ending for all. A slow burn of a romance and a new start for Amelia after her dance career ended.

Enchanting

I loved learning more about ballet and the dedication it requires. The characters come to life in this beautiful, clean love story. Don't start this book till you have plenty of time because you are not going to want to put it down. I would love a sequel to learn how the rest of their !ives evolve

What a Beautiful story! Overcoming heartache is always difficult and the many emotions in this story had me caught up in the dramas that unfolded: the characters in this story are all driven people, strong and come out of their pain with a renewed sense of their future life.

The Perfect Christmas Read

‘The Christmas Coin’, for me, was such a joy to read. Christmas isn’t always easy for many people but it brings hope that life will get better. Or at least, the strength to believe.

This is the kind of book that I like! The author describes the scenery that makes me wish I lived there!
The story switches back and forth a little from what happened years before Amelia bought the farmhouse. The hope, heartache and joy in this story was well rounded!
