Jihae Park maintains the image of an ice-cold heiress and lives under the thumb of her parents, but is trying to create her own space by getting involved in film production. Colin Song is a self-made success and has a burgeoning film production company. He and Jihae will join forces in a passion project, while passion between the two of them also develops. But Colin is hiding his true identity and his secrets might ruin what they have.

I am always amazed at how this author is able to convey the passing of significant periods of time in such a short book. I also love that she is writing romance that centers Korean heroes and heroines in ways that we haven't always seen much of! I had a good time with this story and loved Jihae as a heroine. My main complaint is that the secret keeping goes on for a VERY long time, but I also think the author does a pretty good job of addressing it rather than glossing over it. I will definitely be reading more from her! I received an advance copy of this book for review from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, so I was excited to continue on with another romance from Jayci Lee. This is a romance between Jihae and Colin. Colin thinks Jihae had something to do with a scandal with his cousin, so he decides to work with Jihae on producing a movie to figure out if she was at fault or not. Jihae is trying to be a successful business woman while still pleasing her father. The romance in this was so insta-lovey and I just did not really feel the chemistry that was there. I was also waiting and waiting for Jihae to figure out that Colin was only getting close to her to spy on her and then they'd break up (Spoiler and no surprise at all, it did happen). There just wasn't anything super exciting or romantic about this one. I did enjoy the characters and Jihae fight against her father and wanting to finally be true to herself. But as a romance, this one just wasn't the best.

Finally we get Colin's book!! Off Limits Attraction was amazing and I loved that Jihae and Colin were supposed to be enemies but, attraction definitely is stronger than hate. I loved the fact that even though she's deemed "Ice princess", she's definitely the opposite and the fact that Colin brings out her sweet and warm side is adorable. Both Colin and Jihae were honestly perfect for each other and I loved every second of their relationship together.

The Heirs of Hansol series has been the primary reason why I've slowly gravitated back towards some of these shorter Harlequin romances. I enjoyed the first two books and Colin, the main character in Off Limits Attraction, was presented as an intriguing character with his backstory in book 2. While I liked Off Limits Attraction, I don't think it lived up to my expectations. I remember also being fairly moody at the time that I read the book so my mood certainly could have influenced my opinion of the story. Colin and ice-princess Jihae meet when they commit to a business collaboration. However, Colin is hiding the fact that he is the cousin of the Garrett song, the man Jihae was previously arranged to marry. Right off the bat, there was some deception going on in this relationship, so if that's not your thing, you may not care for this romance. I'll say that I thought both Jihae and Colin had good chemistry together - I liked the dynamic of an ice princess melting around a cool and charming hero - but there was something about their relationship that I was not entirely convinced by. The physical attraction was there, but I needed to see a bit more of their emotional connection to each other. Ultimately, I didn't necessarily feel like theirs was a romance that was particularly memorable. I also missed the family dynamics that played a big part in the previous books. I still think this is a fun series, especially if you enjoy family sagas with lots of dramas.

Off Limits Attraction by Jayci Lee is the third story in her family dynasty series The Heirs of Hansol, a sexy and interesting romance between a filmmaker and the vice president of an entertainment company.

Jihae Park enjoys her work as vice president of Rotelle Entertainment, part of her father’s Rotelle business empire but doesn’t always enjoy being told what to do by her parents. She’s trying to become more independent while still being respectful of them and one of those ways is taking on her own projects with the entertainment company. Her latest venture is partnering with film producer Colin Song.

Colin is intrigued by Jihae, not just because their business collaboration could mean great things for his independent films, but also because she was supposed to marry his cousin in an arranged marriage between the two Korean family dynasties. That had been broken when his cousin married for love instead and the Hansol company had suffered some corporate espionage soon after. His family is sure that the Park family is at fault and Colin feels that he should be on the lookout for anything suspicious by Jihae, who doesn’t know he’s part of the Hansol family and wouldn’t be suspecting him of nefarious motives. As they spend time together their attraction to each other blossoms. But when Jihae finds out Colin’s true motives will their romance be cut short?

This is my favourite of this series! I really enjoyed seeing the aspects of Korean culture shown by both Jihae and Colin in how they deal with their families and their businesses. Jihae is smart, talented, driven, and looking for ways to express her independence from her parents and their expectations of her as both their daughter and in her role in the business. She’s excited for the new film venture with Colin that will bring Korean talent to the big screen. While she knows her parents may not approve of Colin as a prospective spouse, she still can’t deny her attraction to him and they share some sexy scenes. Jihae has a business exterior that makes people view her as an ice princess but in private she likes to dress and behave casually and it’s seeing her let down her guard that draws Colin to her.

Colin feels an obligation to his family to do what he can to determine if Jihae and her family are behind the corporate problems that the Hansol fashion company had. He feels a bit guilty for not going into the family business and thinks this can help him find favour with his grandmother. He wants his film company to be successful in its own right and not just because of his family connections. But he soon realizes that Jihae is too honest and forthright to be involved in any espionage. Of course things get a little more complicated and Colin’s subterfuge puts a test on their burgeoning relationship. In the end they get a well deserved happy ever after. I’ve enjoyed all the stories in this series and definitely recommend it (and I love all the covers!).

Was anyone else anxiously waiting for Colin’s story?! I have been super curious about Colin since book one and I think he and Jihae were meant to be. The intimate conversations, their similar personalities, and fun hijinks made for an enjoyable read, but what I really loved was the way Lee pulled so many vulnerable emotions from these two. Colin and Jihae’s romance was a wonderful ending to a much loved trilogy!

Off Limits Attraction is probably my least favorite book in The Heirs of Hansol series. I was more invested in the espionage plot line than the actual romance, but I did like how things kind of came back full circle with the first book and all loose ends were tied up.

4 stars. I’m sad to see the series wrap up but I did really enjoy this book. After the disappointment that was book two, I was kind of nervous but I think Lee ended everything really well and tied everything up.

I really do like her writing and will read whatever she publishes. Her characters are great and she does angst, pining, and tension so well. I loved both Jihae and Colin. They’re both such emotional beings and I thought they were so cute together. Jihae is known to the public as being a snobby, stick in the mud Princess but she’s really just a doll. She has a big heart and she’s extremely likable. Colin wears his heart on his sleeve and he is damn good and groveling. I love me a hero who knows how to grovel and he did not disappoint. I loved how hard he fell for Jihae. It was so sweet and endearing.

The drama and the secrets that Colin kept were pretty huge and while I wanted to smack him for not telling Jihae sooner it did make for some great angst and groveling. So I guess I can't be too mad.

The ending was sweet but I wish it had gone on just a bit longer. It felt too quick but I still liked it, especially seeing the other characters from the previous books. Overall, this was a fun series and I hope to read more by Jayci Lee soon.

2.5 Stars.

Instalove (but really lust), corporate espionage, and more. But it felt really empty. I couldn't relate to the romance at all. Too much tell, not enough show, on the whole main conflict between the couple. While the heroine was 27, she felt closer to 33 in how she advanced she was. Felt a little unbalanced, even though I liked her. Male love interest was horny all the time, then declaring love.

My pandemic descent into k-dramas continues with this perfectly k-dramaesque conclusion to the Hansol series. We’ve got the daughter of a chaebol overwhelmed by the control her father wields over her all the way from Korea including trying to force her into an arranged marriage with a man who rejected her and the son of a Korean American chaebol who wants to make it on his own without his family name influencing his success who also happens to be the cousin of that man she was supposed to marry. Now put these two working to produce a movie together swooning and horny for each other in a no strings attached relationship deal type thing and you get a very intense highly entertaining k-drama romcom on paper.

Jihae and Colin were sweet, and Jihae was very brave in facing her family troubles, the end was very sweet and we got to be with all the supporting characters from the whole series. I especially loved how halmoni has grown from stern elder to a caring and loving parental figure throughout the series even with the obvious power she has over the family. This is definitely none of my business, but in the previous books I’ve read there seems to be an archetype in contemporary Asian American romance of overbearing and mean immigrant elders and parents so it was just nice to read about a loving grandmother who wasn’t perfect but did her best to support her loved ones in the ways they asked to be supported.

The reason I love category romance is because they are full of tropes that they tell you up front so you can pick up a book that you should love and sink in and get lost in it and escape your life and your problems for a few hours. In my mind, a category romance should be a one sitting read. Even though I haven't fallen totally in love with the other books in this series, I have always found them quick and enjoyable, so I was really looking forward to this one. And then it took me 16 days to read.

Now, it's 2020, so is all of that the fault of this book? Definitely not. Perhaps not even most of it. But even though I really thought this book would be my favorite in the series because Collin has been such an interesting side character, this book just did not work for me. I think the reason it didn't work for me is that the deception storyline doesn't really... work? I didn't understand Collin's reasons well enough for why he had to keep his identity a secret besides the fact that he wanted to spy on Jihae. But then that's not even the reason she's eventually persuaded to forgive him because of? And ultimately, I wasn't satisfied with the overall resolution of the HEA or how the external plot was handled and I felt like the book was paced too slowly.

I really hope this book works better for you than me. December has been incredibly rough on me this year so I hope that it's just me.

Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for the advanced copy of this book.

I’ve been ~obsessed~ with Jayci Lee’s books since I first clapped eyes on her debut, and the books themselves are JUST as delicious as the cover art🥵 I loved the earlier books in this series, and Off Limits Attraction was an utterly fantastic conclusion to the Heirs of Hansol series💛

Let’s be real, Jihae was the real star of this book for me!! She was incredibly dedicated to her job & the success of her company, and she had a rich interior life disconnected from her professional work persona. It was so fascinating!! She was confident, she was powerful, and still playful. I loved that she knew her worth & let Colin know she wouldn’t settle for anything less than what she deserved👏🏼 and i DIED at the pretty woman shopping montage!! Honestly she & Jane were 1000% BFF goals there

I so enjoyed watching Jihae and Colin fall in love, and I can’t wait for you to meet them when the book releases this Tuesday!! thank you so much to Harlequin Books & Netgalley for my review copy🥰

There is so much to love and enjoy about this book. Both Jihae and Colin are characters that you want to root for the entire read. Their on page chemistry was elecrtic, and their business chemistry made a lot of sense to. When familial connections threaten to tear them apart, I appreciated how the author handled the big conflict. It was something that made a lot of sense, and I really loved the big ending!

This was an interesting tie in to the first two in the series and I'm glad we got redemption for Jihae Park. However, this had the same issues as most Harlequin category romances do for me in that it feels too short to tell a fully fleshed out story.

Thank you to the publisher and @netgalley for a copy of this book. This is book 3 of the series but feels you can read it as a stand alone. I love reading books with more diversity with Korean main characters. I love Jihae and Collin’s attraction and how they tried to separate personal and professional life to get what they both want. Lee always does a great job of creating a great story in a short book.

Off-limits attraction
4/5 stars

I made the mistake of waiting a bit too long to review this so some of the memories are a bit hazy but I'm going to do my best.

I automatically am more inclined to like books that have Asian people or people of color in general as the main protagonist. So having two attractive wealthy Asian leads was a refreshing change of pace from most of the books that I've read. I think that they were both sweet and compelling while being set in their ways. I loved the Heat and tension between them and they had a fun and sweet story that was easy to fly through.

I will say that a lot of the storylines that involved the Espionage with heroines father kind of confused me maybe it went over my head or wasn't explained necessarily well but it felt a bit convoluted and like something that might have translated better in film. I definitely was reaffirmed in my opinion that I love Harlequin romances after picking this one up and want to Devour the rest of the series that follows this family.

Was this the most intricate writing in the world? No. But the thing is it didn't have to be it was a wonderful execution of what it set out to do it was fun it was light it was compelling I love the idea of 2 love interests bonding while making a rom-com movie I thought that was a beautiful touch that I've never seen before done in a book.

It was a angsty with a touch of frustration for how much they kept pushing and pulling between the two in such a short amount of time and it did feel slightly regurgitated after a bit where it was that same pattern of her feeling vulnerable and getting close to him and him like making out with her and then pushing her away because he felt guilty about it. I thought that it was a sweet journey. I loved the main female best friend and I think that I will definitely return to this on a day where maybe I'm sad and I need a good Comfort romantic comedy in my life.

I mean it's it's pretty self-explanatory. I think this is a gorgeous cover, it sounded like a fun plot and it was a really good Quick time. You know whether or not you're into this sort of thing based off the cover based off the fact that it is published by Harlequin and whatnot. And you're going to get exactly what you're looking for with that if you are at all into those things or if you are a fan of romantic comedy movies as a whole I would definitely recommend to this for that type of fan and I am glad I picked this one up.

Off Limits Attraction by Jayci Lee is the conclusion to the Heirs of Hansol trilogy, and I must say that it is the best of the three books.

Colin Song and Jihae Park are working together to produce a movie, and the sparks are flying between them. Yet, both are trying to keep their feelings at bay. Jihae, because she must prove to her father that she can run her own division (down with patriarchy). Colin? Why his reasons are more personal - he's trying to find out how much involvement Jihae has with the espionage at Hansol a year or so ago.

There's also all the emotion between the two characters. Both characters are similar, yet their emotions are showcased differently. You really get the feeling that these two are the perfect match for each other.

I love that this book brings up representation in movies, particularly in behind the camera. How it was important to get the correct screenwriter to help adapt the book, and making sure that she was paid fairly - reflective of both the success of her recent movie and her award wins.

There are a few loose ends/under developed storylines, but it does not take away from the story (it could also be a very me issue, and not noticed by someone that hasn't recently read a longer series involving one family).

Jayci Lee once again does a great job with the story, and characters. I have a hard time believing that her debut novel was only in January of this year, and now she's got four books published (three categories, and one trade romance).

Thank you Harlequin and Net Galley for the advanced reading copy in exchange for a review.

Book 3 of Jayci Lee’s The Heirs of Hansol series brings back Jihae Park, the president of Rotelle Entertainment who, in Book 1, was promised in marriage to Garrett Song in the hopes that together, their Korean families could forge a massive business empire. If you read the first book, you’ll know that this didn’t happen, and their engagement ended when Garrett decided to marry for love instead.

Now Jihae is looking for independence from her family by making her own business decisions and taking on new ventures. Her latest project brings her into collaboration with Colin Song, Garrett’s cousin.
Colin is attracted to Jihae but he doesn’t entirely trust her. He fears, in retaliation for Garrett breaking his engagement to her, her family might have retaliated by sending an industrial spy into his family’s company. He can’t be sure of her and because she does not know of his connection to the Hansol empire, there is a lot of mistrust going around.

However, things get hot pretty quickly and there is no denying their growing attraction. Jihae can let her guard down with Colin and Colin can’t get enough of Jihae. However, Jihae knows her family won’t approve of Colin and Colin is trying to appease his grandmother by getting close to Jihae and discovering the identity of the spy. The fun for me was watching this couple untangle all their subterfuge to find a way to happiness.

This might be my favorite book of the series. I loved everything about the Heirs of Hansol, from the strong characters and the drama to the fantastic covers. I want more stories from this universe.

Colin and Jihae’s story in Off Limits Attraction by Jayci Lee, book three in the Heirs of Hansol series, is an emotional, wonderful, uplifting, workplace romance that can possibly cause interference with our heroine’s family duty. Ice princess Jihae Park is a façade, thought up by her parents to help keep their company competitive and financially successful; not the real her. She has been trying to figure out how to gain her independence and get out from her father’s control. Deciding to have her entertainment division join forces with a film company Jihae chooses film producer Colin Song’s company. The electricity sizzles when Jihae and Colin are in the same room. Having a fling could jeopardize Jihae’s chance at achieving her own success as well as the movie they are making together. Jihae tries as she might to resist Colin, her attraction to him, and his amazing skills in bed she is unable to end things. There are a few problems and obstacles affecting this fling ending successful; number one being that Colin hasn’t been totally truthful with Jihae. It just might take a miracle, an amazing movie, and family support in order for Colin and Jihae to get a chance at a picture-perfect ending

Ms. Lee wrote an emotional and searing story that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, personal growth, and supportive characters giving Colin and Jihae a chance at a forever love. I highly recommend Off Limits Attraction to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

Off Limits Attraction by Jayci Lee is the third in her Heirs of Hansol trilogy, and is about flying-under-the-media/family-radar businessman and aspiring movie producer Colin Song and the brilliant, beautiful Jihae Park, who carefully cultivates her ice princess facade in obedience to her family's restrictions. Going public with their intense attraction would burn them both, but keeping their feelings under wraps is becoming more and more difficult.

Jayci Lee does a terrific job with this Desire--full of sweeping passion, complicated family dynamics, the need for secrecy, and of course, glamour and glitz!

Colin and Jihae both are all too familiar with hiding their truest selves, revealing to the public only what they choose to allow. It makes it all the sweeter as they slowly build trust and begin to let down their hair with each other, figuratively and literally.

This entire series has been thrilling to me as an Asian American reader. I especially loved seeing Jihae and Colin's desires to balance their familial ties with their personal goals, and greatly appreciated how Jihae truly came into her own as not only Colin but she fully recognized her strengths, embraced her choices, and allowed herself to be vulnerable to the right people.

Jayci Lee has written a tremendous series in the Heirs of Hansol, and I look forward to more of her excellent storytelling to come!

Off Limits (Heirs of Hansol #3). By Jayci Lee. 2020. Harlequin Desire (ARC eBook).

Colin Song has struck out on his own. As his grandmother and cousins run Hansol, a fashion company, Colin has started up a film production company. And when the opportunity arises to partner up with Jihae Park from the Rotelle Entertainment company, Colin jumps on it. Colin feels the partnership is a good fit, but his also wants to help suss out if there is anything to his family’s suspicions that Jihae and Rotell were responsible for espionage and lies that almost sunk Garrett Song’s chances at a family with Natalie (Heirs of Hansol #1). Feelings however soon development and Colin is sure of Jihae’s innocence and that she too feels deeply for him. Both feel obligations to their families and share the Korean family dynamics that is infused into the series, but will Jihae be able to forgive Colin’s subterfuge?

Off Limits was the weakest entry in the Heirs of Hansol series for me. The romance felt more hurried, even more than Temporary Wife Temptation which was almost overnight. But the writing and characters were consistent and it fits very well into the series. Overall, the series is an entertaining venture into the lives of successful Korean American heirs finding love.

I think out of the 3... this one is my favorite. I am giving it a full 4 starts. I would consider it an office romance. The nitty-griity of this romance is that Jihae Park's and Colin Song's families are business rivals, but Jihae does not know anything about Colin and that Colin is a part of that family. Colin does know who Jihae is and secretly wants to know if she is just as conniving as the rest of her family, but needs to work with her in order to produce a movie with him.

I wish there was more personality to Colin in this book that he seemed to have in Secret Crush Seduction. He was very flat to me in it. I also felt he needed to grovel more. The ending again was very rushed and I don't think these category romances are for me if they a are always like this.

I love Jihae. I think she is the only character that Jayci's has written so far that didn't fall apart when they saw their love interest finally pays attention to them. I felt they got to know each other and their sexy time scenes were pretty hot. I also enjoyed the humor in this book more so then the previous 2 as well.

That cover though is the worse. It has photoshop all over it. When it comes to the coves I like Secret Crush Seduction the best.

Jihae Park keeps a cool face no matter what is happening. Yet, she has a hard time keeping it together when she meets film producer, Colin Song. He recruits her to invest in his movie and the two vow to remain professional though there is an almost immediate attraction. An attraction that grows into a hot affair which might become something more. If only Colin didn't have a secret that could destroy their romance.
Off Limits Attraction is my second read by Jayci Lee, and I have seen so much growth in this work. I felt like she took the time to build the right setting and plot points that made this a strong story. The descriptions made me feel like I was in the story. On another note, I loved that this featured Asian characters and the cover is simply beautiful.
Colin and Jihae were hot together and I read this in hours. I loved how each character came into their own and I felt for Jihae's character. I was so glad to see her development and empowerment.
I look forward to reading more from this author. I feel she is going to get better with each book she writes.

This book focuses on Colin Song, Gareth and Adeline’s cousin from the first two books, and Jihae Park, Gareth’s almost ex-fiance (it’s complicated but not weird. Gareth and Jihae were never in a relationship). Jihae and Colin find themselves working together as part of a movie production effort, and through their interactions they act on their mutual attraction to one another. Colin, however, is trying to uncover some details on the corporate spying that was happening in the first book. Because there are a number of narrative ties between this book and book 1, I recommend not letting a lot of time pass between reading this one and the first one.

I really liked Colin and Jihae as individuals and as a couple. Colin is a bit lighter in terms of personality than Gareth or Michael, and like the other men prioritizes his family’s wellbeing. Jihae is a sharp business woman who has always tried to adhere to her family’s wishes despite her family being a lot more detached than the Songs. Speaking of the Song family, they’re all just wonderful. In the closing scene they all show up to welcome Jihae into the family and that was just lovely!
