Billionaire David Gonzalez never forgot his humble beginnings… nor the curvy country-club queen who stole his heart and then tossed it aside ten years ago.
Former socialite Courtney Walsh wants to rebuild her life—and her bank account—after a bitter divorce. Helping with the renovation of Abbott Farm’s new produce stand provides a place to live and a decent paycheck. Unfortunately, it also requires working with the wealthy entrepreneur she dated back when he was a golf caddy at her family’s country club. The spark is still there. But David, a cancer survivor, harbors secrets that pull him away from the woman he still adores. Will their reversal of fortune bring them together or tear them apart?

Second Chance Springtime is the second title in the Home to Orchard Springs series, which will reunite David Gonzalez and Courtney Walsh… eventually. First, they have to navigate a rather emotional past where years ago, Courtney broke David’s heart when she chose another man with more stability (it seemed) than the younger David, who was a foster teen, a caddy at the local country club, and perhaps, the love of Courtney’s life. But back then, their plans for the future didn’t line up, and Courtney made a choice, one that she’s regretted for years.
Today, Courtney is divorced from her arrogant ex-husband and still reeling from the miscarriage that put the final nail in the coffin of their marriage. Her circumstances have drastically changed, and perhaps what weighs on her most is her self-esteem from how she looks now, after the miscarriage, after the trauma of her ex-husband’s emotional abuse. Working with David, as he returns home to help revitalize the Abbott farm with the help and visions of his foster siblings, is, well, challenging to say the least. David has experienced loss as well, only his doesn’t scream for attention, but is buried deep in his heart. While the attraction between them is still as fierce as ever, David knows he cannot give Courtney the one thing she desires more than anything… a large family.
I enjoyed Second Chance Springtime so much. David and Courtney’s situations are heartbreaking, yet uplifting as well, when they begin to see beyond what they see as flaws in themselves. No one is perfect; there are other ways to fulfill a lifetime dream, and as they draw closer, it’s time to put the past where it belongs, behind them, and embrace a future that might look different, yet is still as amazing as they could ever dream of.

David Gonzalez and Courtney Chase have a history. Now the popular socialite from high school is a divorcee trying to rebuild her life. And the foster boy from the farm is now a self-made millionaire who’s had his own challenges in life.
As an accomplished businessman, David is back at Abbott Farms to help revamp the farm's enterprises and bring it back into the red. Courtney is living on the property and helping get the produce stand up and running. It's impossible for Courtney and David to avoid each other, and they soon realize they work well together. But there are past hurts and secrets to be traversed if they're to have any kind of a future together.
This is the kind of series my reader heart lives for. Four foster siblings, each returning home to help the man who raised them, and closer than any birth siblings could be. The small-town setting is charming and engaging, and each romance is better than the last. Make your romantic heart happy and start reading this story of family, faith, and second chances today.
Second Chance Springtime is book 2 of the "Home to Orchard Springs" clean fiction series. These stories are set in the small town of Orchard Springs at the Abbott Farm with Pop Abbott and his "flock" of now adult kids. They can be read as stand alone stories or in order for better character relationships and development.
Courtney and her dog Bubbles move back to her hometown after a devastating miscarriage and divorce, hoping to help Pop Abbott and his family build a local produce stand. She reconnects with David and Jenn while trying to rebuild her life and trust in men. David and Courtney have undeniable chemistry but past experiences and hurt keep them from moving forward. I liked reading about their adventures with dating (yikes!), her emotional struggles with her weight and self image (I can relate!), and daily adventures with Pop and other family members.
I absolutely loved the Farm setting, characters and story line that kept my interest from beginning to end. I loved reading this sweet clean romance and can't wait to read more in this series! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and views expressed are my own.
David is back in Orchard Springs with one of his foster sisters from the Flock, as they call themselves. Courtney has just moved into the apartment above the future farm stand after a financially disastrous divorce. When her previous job falls through, Courtney tries to convince David to hire her full time at the farm stand. But they have a past history that has them both feeling uncertain if they can work together. There are some other significant barriers to them as well. Can they work through all these issues to get the farm stand going, and maybe more than that? Read this to find out.
The pace is engrossing and the tone is uncertain with a character centered storyline that has a few kisses but no steam. The characters are vivid and engaging. The Christian ideals are part of the story and not added on. I recommend reading this series in order. That gives you the best perspective. Enjoy!
I really enjoyed book 1 so I had to get and read book 2. And book 3 is being delivered today. The Flock is a group of adults who were fostered in the same home as teens. They deeply bonded as siblings and are still working together to save Abbott Farm. I love them all and am enjoying their individual stories.
In this book we focus on David who has been wounded and needs to be healed from those hurts. Courtney may be able to help, but she’s part of the wounded past and has her own baggage.
I love the small town setting. The farm and its market. These are the stories that pull me in. Wholesome romance, second chances, and family. It’s all in this series.
I enjoyed reading this story. Courtney and David had dated in high school, but now had to work together to help get a farm market up and running. Things in each of their pasts makes it hard. I really liked that Courtney was not a skinny girl and had body issues. It is nice to read a book that has that. I also really liked that David did not try to change her. I thought this was a great book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was not required to write a positive review.
Both are in need of a second chance. Courtney is dealing with a divorce, loss of income, and poor self image. David is trying to help his foster father back on his feet and sees Courtney as possibly the one that got away. He is running hot and cold with her and she's getting whiplash not knowing if David likes her or not. Thank goodness Courtney has friends from her church group that help her with good thoughts and puts her on the path of healing. David finally comes clean about his feeling and his condition and hopes that he can be given a second chance.
In this book you will read about a divorced woman who gets away to find peace, a business man who decides to go home and check on Pops who raised him and the flock. Courtney is trying to make ends meet after her ex takes most of their savings. David is shocked when he comes home and sees the condition the family farm is in. Watching Courtney and David work together and fighting their feelings will have you turning the pages to see what happens next.
Secrets, second chances, working together. Things that make a romance interesting and challenging. You'll find all those and more in a story that'll keep you reading till the end. Yet another great book in this series featuring wounded people, and the lovable dogs that help them heal along the way. Not to be missed. I received a copy of this book as a member of a launch team. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
David and Courtney have a heartwarming second chance to find the love they shared as teenagers. Courtney is newly divorced. She deals with self esteem and trust from her ex and her own mother. David had been her first love and now he is back to help Pop with the farm but he too has some emotional problems to sort out. Will they be able to rekindle what they once had while they work together to make the farm successful once again?
The characters are well written the storyline is great I hav enjoyed revisiting the farm and the small town . I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. Happy reading. Thanks Lee for your great stories keep up the great work
The Abbotts took in 4 foster teenagers. This is David's story as he returns to start a farm market. Courtney has little confidence in herself due to her ex and mother criticizing her weight. David has a medical issue that he thinks he should keep Courtney away from him.
A great read !! Thank you so much for the enjoyable experience !! I am loving forward to reading your next exciting adventures !! Keep the excellent work !! 😆
