3 stars- THE PACT is the fourth instalment in Angela Storm’s contemporary, adult CHICAGO DONS Mafia erotic, romance series. This is Don Giovanni Santoro, and Viviana Rossi’s story line. THE PACT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary
Told from dual first person perspectives (Giovanni’s and Viviana) THE PACT follows the arranged marriage between our story line couple. Viviana Rossi’s life has been forfeited to the Santoro Crime Family as payment for her father’s debt. Her soon to been husband, the new Don, Giovanni Santoro has proclaimed his protection and future love for the woman who is about to take control of more than just his heart . There is a war encroaching on the Santoro territory, and betrayal comes from within. With the help of his new wife, his brother Leo, and Leo’s wife Clara, Giovanni takes back control of the city, reuniting the crime families in the process.
The world building follows Viviana and Giovanni as they quickly and quietly take down the people taking aim at their organization but saying that , the story line, the set up and the ultimate conflict resolution is unbelievable in its’ presentation and roll out. Giovanni basically gives most of his power to the woman he barely knows, and with each break through and take down, our couple rise to the top, without resistance and little gunfire. Powerful men give up , and give in, with little fight.
The relationship between Giovanni and Viviana begins acrimoniously but quickly turns into something more. The Santoro Crime Family is about to go to war, and Viviana works like a seasoned veteran and General, taking control. Side by side, our couple become more powerful than most military operations, and the most powerful of men bow to the demands of our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and impassioned.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters but the main focus is on Viviana ,Giovanni and Leo’s wife Clara. Clara it the ultimate hacker, able to do what most governments and military commands cannot fathom.
THE PACT is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, acceptance and love. The premise is action packed and interesting but ultimately so unbelievable I struggled to enjoy. As payment for a debt, there is never any mention of her father’s ‘betrayal’ beyond the initial revelation, and in this, Viviana’s sacrifice is nothing more than a jumping point to instigate an arranged marriage; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic.

Vivianna finds herself trapped in an arranged marriage because of her father's debts. Livid Vivianna fights for her rights knowing that marring Giovanni will not be a walk in the park. He learns that she will not conform to being his wife off the bat and fights for the right to be beside him as so much more. Will their marriage lead them to everything they hoped to have with each other. this story kept me glued to the pages.

This is a mind blowing, captivating mafia romance book that starts off like when you light a fireplace it takes a while to take off, but once it does it has a rolling hot flame. This romance read reminds me of that. I honestly couldn't put this book down because it is really good. I strongly suggest you add this book to your TBR and get reading it very soon.

Giovanni and Viviana. Hes the Don of chicago. Shes what he didnt know he wanted or needed. Shes her fathers debt. This long read will be hard to find a stopping place. They are married as a contract but they find a partner in each other. Loved it.
