"You still think you’re the main character in your own story, don’t you, Mercer? That’s cute. You were written out the moment you let me inside you. You don’t exist without me now. And you love it."

Kade Mercer is an unstoppable force on the ice, destined to be the top of the NHL. One reckless mistake, one desperate night, and it was all over. The trap was set long before he even stepped onto the ice. Nikolai Volkov, a mafia boss and team owner, orchestrated it the seduction, the scandal, the blackmail. Now, Kade isn’t just owned. He’s trapped.

He still plays. He still wins. But only when they let him. Throw a game. Obey. Or lose everything.

But the real hell doesn’t come from Nikolai. It comes from his son, Rook Volkov. The golden boy of a rival team. Hockey’s rising star. Kade’s worst enemy. He’s spent years fighting Kade, hating him, wanting him. Now? He owns him.

Rook doesn’t destroy Kade’s career, he controls it. His flights. His bank accounts. His entire life. And when Kade resists? Rook makes him pay.
First, he makes him beg.

Then, he makes him like it.

Every punishment, every violation, every humiliating submission forces Kade deeper into the world Rook has carved out for him. A world where the line between rivalry and ownership has been erased. A world where Kade can fight all he wants—but he’ll never escape.

Indie author of Hot Fiction. Billiejo Priestley was born in 1987 in Leeds, she currently still lives in Leeds, UK and is a mum.

She focuses primarily on writing and publishing work than other career aspects. Billiejo writes books that are often taboo, dark and forbidden romance varieties.

Subjects that many steer away from through fear of others views. Her books are not for the faint of heart. Most feature aspects of BDSM, Polyamory, and often life issues, including mental health, addiction and abuse.

She writes things that can be seen as triggers, but her books also give lessons, teach people the signs of bad relationships. Reading is something that should broaden our horizons and open our minds.

Reading was never intended to easy, straightforward and reflect our own lives. Reading was intended to teach us things. Show us an insight into others lives, even if fictional, so when the day comes, we meet someone like the characters, we can relate. This is why many of Billiejo’s book features taboo subjects.

I gave this book 4 stars for the story only. The plot is really good and kept me reading long after I felt I should have given up.

This book could do with a really good edit. Passages and dialogue is repeated often and it became increasingly frustrating as the story went on.

The spice is questionable as a mm, the main things you would expect for two men to be able to make love are missing and never mentioned. There was also no clean up and no mention of mess. It didn’t work and left these scenes feeling really false.

The plot however was amazing. This would have been a 5* for me if the writing had lived up to the story.

Kade and rook from two different worlds, blackmail and underneath it true love.
