Jerry grew up in a snowy New England town, then decided to move to an arid desert town. Along the way, he got married and started a family.

Jerry has been writing most of his life. He loves fast-paced, pithy stories, hopefully with a few good sword fights sprinkled within.

A writer, gaming geek, and corporate flunky, Jerry spends most of his time in cubeville. He dreams of leaving it behind one day.

This one was a bitter tale! So, so many bad things happened. For the first time in a long time Ulfrick falls flat on his face.

Not necessarily enjoyable to read but absolutely interesting and at this point I've really fallen in love with these characters and would follow them into hell.

This series is a must read for Viking fiction fans. Fate is all.

ADDENDUM: As I was reading the fifth book in this series I realized something that I haven't mentioned before. The pacing of these books is awesome. Just when a chapter ends and you turn the page expecting to read something boring to follow the awesome action that just ended you get hit in the face with more action! Autieri skips right over boring stuff like sea voyages or long marches and I for one appreciate it.

Tired of reading Page after page after page of ridiculous Ruminations?

I sure am. There is much stupidity going around for everyone dedicated in this novel.

Even Ulf… said he was tired of stupid men screwing things up. He should point the finger at himself first of all. Every decision he made was the wrong one in 4 out of 5 decisions.

When you catch a spy in your midst you immediately take them to a place and ‘put them to the Quedtion…you
Don’t lock them up and set a poorly trained alcoholic to guard the spy BY HIMSELF!!

OMG, and then it turns out the people put out for bait in a feeble plan… the you lose them.

Worst? The whining and crying and self immolation done by someone shows they don’t deserve being the story’s hero.

Very disappointed.

The only reason it lost a star is because of the ending.

and the saga continues

A pleasure. This is the darkest of the episodes. Much loss, twists, wins and a compelling story about the gains and perils of ambition.

Great Ending

This volume of Ulfrik's saga ends with a somewhat unexpected ending. It also leaves room for another follow-up book with previously described characters and the basis for an extended plot.

Another great adventure! A lot of suspense and sadness in this one. I liked that Konal came back. Also, Aren is great, I love it when kids are wise beyond their years.
