December 2, 2025I do look in on 'celebrity' birth and early parenting books from time to time to keep up to date with influences, but it often requires gritted teeth. I've never watched any of the things Davina McCall has been on but what I did know about her was something about her birth choices (which were not stereotypical celebrity choices/things celebrities are pushed into), and that meant I wanted a look at this.
However, I've decided not to be completist about it, the gritted teeth on this occasion are about the format which simply doesn't work well for me rather than the factual content or the broad approach, which are fine. I think I need a more humorous book if it is going to be chatty.

A brilliant read, so much information. In some areas I think it could have gone into more detail but I believe the intention was to give mothers a really good overview of things to think about or be aware of and it did that in spades. It was extremely informative and even tthough the inserts were from lots of different specialists, the book wasn't disjointed in the slightest. A really well formed book about pregnancy and birth.
