Why Hummus? We'll give the answer right at the start: people are passionate about hummus. They're passionate about it because it goes so well with so many things. Any family or friendly meal we ever remember that had a hummus dish on the table, never had any hummus left by the end of it. It is such a versatile food. A true staple of the eastern Mediterranean, where every restaurant wants to be known as makers of the best hummus in town. The Hummus Bros offer the best hummus in London town and now bring it to the world via their first book. In this book you will find the dishes that go really well with hummus. Rather than just being a dip, Hummus Bros see hummus as a way of eating and the menu features a diverse range of accompaniments to the hummus, which is the main star. Featuring 60 recipes, from the hummus itself, though meat and veggie accompaniments, the essential falafel recipe, salads, breads, sauces and even delicious desserts and drinks. Featuring lamb with pine nuts and Middle Eastern spices, smoky barbecued aubergine, tabbouleh, a 5000-year-old recipe for fava beans, even a surprising guacamole. All the recipes are simple and fresh and easy to prepare. They are also healthy, fashionable and easy on the pocket. Beautifully photographed and designed, Hummus Bros. Levantine Kitchen is an essential book for anyone keen on the humble chickpea - give peas a chance.

Who loves hummus ? My family does, my neighbors now do and even my anti anything but meat and potatoes friend likes it. I made a few recipes out of this to extend my flavor reach and wowed taste buds. Where has this book been all my life ? I have been making hummus for years, the same three varieties were getting stale. Yes, I tried some recipes off the internet with very meh results. Not a meh recipe so far out of this baby !
The authors share their winning recipes and even add details on the benefits of eating these misunderstood heath bombs. There is of course hummus, but there are so many more Lebanese recipes to try. It's not all about the dip. A very healthy, tasty and unique addition to my cookbook shelf.

I thank Pavilion Books for sending me a copy of 'Levantine Kitchen' by Hummus Bros, which I won in the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway. I loved the design of the hardback cover. I have never tried Hummus, but am now looking forward to making some of the recipes. The recipes look easy to follow and hope my attempt at making these recipes come out as good as in the many colourful pictures.

What can I say - Hummus Bros is among my top favorite places to snack in London. I simply love their dishes and always try to make more people try them out. Being able to prepare meals as the guys there but at home is priceless. Thanks to my friend Christoph (who knows me very well and gifted this book to me) I already cook and inspire people with the magic of the recipes inside :)

Not just a cookbook, this is also a brief history of the partnership and restaurants. The book itself is quite visually appealing, with a clean modern layout and lovely appetizing photos. Packed full of yummy recipes, there are also helpful tips on things such as how to best cook the chickpeas and which tahini is most flavorful.

Featuring a well balanced assortment of recipes—from drinks and sides to main dishes—and many options to create a fantastic meal for yourself or a crowd. There is truly something for everyone here, regardless if you are vegan, vegetarian, or meat lover. Even those with allergies or dietary restrictions are taken into consideration, as there is a checklist in the back of the book denoting which recipes are gluten, lactose, and/or nut-free.

An ode to the chickpea-something like 70% of the recipes either involve hummus or chickpeas. So there's something to inspire even those ambivalent to the chickpea (like me). The hummus toppings range from simple to whole meals proving that hummus can be a whole meal but my favorite section was the soups which were universally filling and delicious. The photos are gorgeous and accompany each recipe which are written with the reasons why you're about to cook things they way you are-a nice touch which means you'll actually learn.

I received this book as part of a goodreads Giveaway.

This isn't a standard cookbook. It covers a lot more than simple recipes, from the history of Hummus to making Hummus from scratch yourself. The first thing you notice about the Levantine Kitchen is the presentation has been very well though out book and looks pleasing with each page turn. This book would look good on a living room table.

The recipes are well presented and easy to follow, with a good use of pictures.

Hummus is definitely a fave of mine, although I've never really considered making my own, I suppose. This cute little cookbook details the benefits of hummus, while presenting a variety of recipes that can turn a simple hummus into a delicious meal.

I'm not sure whether I'll recreate any of these recipes on my own, but at least I'll know that I have more options than just hummus and chips, right?

What a great book! Plenty of recipes yet it seemed more like a novel than a cookery book. A great read with some gorgeous recipes made with fresh ingredients
