★★★★! Rebound, book 1 of 3. Divorcee is swept off her feet by dashing Dr. Mathias Keene. But is there more to their budding romance?

Books in The Pentagon Group series should be read in order:
Book 1: Rebound
Book 2: Unbound
Book 3: Bound

Rebound (book 1) is ex Vegas show-girl Perla Mercurio, Perlz, Perlita’s story or rebounding from a marriage the left her in debt and much more. After her divorce her meager life consists of working several jobs; mainly sales director and dance instructor at a gym and running a small Inn, cleaning her studio apartment and carefully organizing her time and work week with meals and bus charts. But she still manages to have a good attitude.

Plagued by a sore hip from her dancing days Perla seeks out an orthopedic surgeon. Enter Dr. Mathias Keene, Matt, Matty aka Dr. Dashing who came highly recommended. The sparks fly and a few more chance encounters she finds herself waking up in his bed after having had too much to drink and injuring herself. The chivalrous Matt wants to be more than a rebound guy. Perla is swept away by his persistent, nurturing and accommodating nature, seduced by possessive and skillful love making.

Their whirlwind romance is carefully scheduled around Perla’s tight schedule. Story appears to just be following their budding romance of getting to know each other and quickly being inseparable while falling for each other. Operative word: appears. There is much more to their story and these characters that is best experienced.

Seven words to describe Dr. Mathias Keene, Matt, Matty aka Dr. Dashing: Charming, noble, nurturing, frank, complex, possessive and adaptable.

It’s tricky to rate Perla Mercurio, Perlz, Perlita. One hand the author did an excellent job in capturing and staying true to her character, but on the other hand I found several aspects of her personality annoying; aside from her OCD she was too talkative plus managing and even bossy in bed (which Matt got a kick out of!). There are mitigating circumstances to unfold with story, and in all fairness as readers we don’t have to click with every character and besides it’s easier to be hard on a heroine.

Ten words to describe Perla: Sweet, loyal, organized, OCD, burdened, caring, resilient, bossy, managing and talkative.

Rebound is a story of learning to live a little after divorce; learning to trust and new beginnings. As I touched on at first impression plot looked to be predicable, but ended up taking me on a ride. Perla was very talkative and so story felt a bit long winded the first 60%, As for ending; A shocking and exhilarating cliffy, but no worries, just skip to book 2, Unbound for the continuation of their story.

Chivalrous hero! Excellent character development! Steamy sex scenes! Surprising plot leading right to book 2!

"I don't know how you know what I need, but never stop giving it to me."

Perla is a twenty-eight year old divorcée, starting her life over on her own terms... it's hard when you spent your life depending on someone else and they take it away from you. Dancing was her passion and now working as the Sales Director at the gym and part-time instructor, she gets to experience the rush dancing once gave her, only now years older she has the aches and pain to go with it. When she gets her legs checked, she meets the handsome Dr. Keene, totally inappropriate she knows, but she can't help fantasize about him especially when he's testing her range of motion. Luckily the feeling is mutual and when the opportunity arises, Mathias makes his move, determined to have the woman any which way he can...
"I'd like to try making our schedules work, even if we're stealing seconds in time."

Mathias is a perfect gentleman, never pushy just the opposite he is chivalrous, gentle and gallant in nature, making it easy for Perla to think that maybe, just maybe they can make it work. But with Perla being newly independent, she doesn't want to fall back into old habits of being a kept woman, even if Mathias has the means and the need to take care of her. With him, she is truly free to give life to her fantasies, and she meets a part of herself she never knew existed.
"You make me feel sexy ... desirable ... wanted ... and needed... which has given me the courage to act on my fantasy."

When something is too perfect, it makes you wonder, what is going to happen... no one deserves this much happiness and perfection in their lives, which causes Perla to never really embrace them as a couple, she is always on guard... and it seems she has good reason too. How well does she really know her loving passionate Dr. ???
"Honestly, I'm afraid he actually is using me; maybe just for sex. I'm still questioning why this perfect man, in every sense of the word, wants me."

Rebound, The Pentagon was a passionate read between two people; Perla thought Mathias was the perfect rebound, but he turned into so much more. Their relationship and chemistry was a force of it's own, and it owned them completely. Everything was too perfect, I kept waiting for the shoe to drop similar to Perla, and I have to say when it did, it was like a big slap in the face. Where it all came from I have no clue, I didn't have any inkling that it would turn out that way, and left me sitting there asking my self, What the fuck??? Like where did that come from ??? To me it was a bit too much of a surprise, as I had to go back and re-read a couple places just in case I missed something.

Mathias is not generally the kind of man I go for, but it worked for him and Perla (which is all that matters), he was almost too-nice. Perla on the other hand, poor thing just when she is finally free of one man, she falls in love with another and this man has the ability to break her to pieces. This isn't a stand alone read, there is more to come, and glad for it too because I have lots of questions to be answered. I see a whole lot of groveling and making up in their future.

Perla Mercurio is a twenty-eight-year-old divorced women. She was married to Ben for 5 years. She's now an independent women with multi-jobs. She doesn't want to depend on no one anymore. Form her personal experience she was depending on Ben for everything but when they got divorced she was broken.

Perla had hip pain from dancing so one of her friends from work recommended Dr. Mathias Keene, he's known for his great work. When Dr. Mathias Keene walked into the room Perla couldn't help but feel attracted to him. He was very handsome and gentle. When she left she couldn't help but fantasies about him. Knowing that they'll never meet again she tried to forget him but who can really forget that hot-piece-of-ass outta their mind?

When they meet again at the club things happened and Perla wound up in Matt's/Dr.Dashing's bed. Then what she thought it was just sex turned out to be more. What she feels for Matt is different than what she felt for Ben.

"You make me feel sexy ... desirable ... wanted ... and needed... which has given me the courage to act on my fantasy."

Perla cant help but wait for the moment that life takes away her only happiness.

Is this too good to be true?

“If the relationship didn’t work, how would I survive the break?”

I was hesitant to leave a review for this book as I am aware that it is under-going editing, and the new-edits could have an effect on my rating.

First off, I would like to address something I have seen in other reviews - "too much sex". I'm sorry, but this book is labeled as erotica. The author states that it is erotica. Other reviews talk about the sex in it. How are people surprised that is has a lot of sex? Frankly, when a book is listed as "erotic/erotica", it gets bonus points if it has ANY plot line, which this book does. I mean, have you all read the Sole Regret series by Olivia Cunning? That's all those books are - sex, with a couple lines of dialogue.

I actually think the sex was my favorite part about this book (what does that say about me? haha) because it was DIFFERENT. Another problem with erotica is it all starts to read kind of the same. Tab B inserts into Slot A, add in the phrase "you're mine" and a whole lot of graphic descriptions of body parts, and done - erotica novel. This book had that, as it's necessary, but the author also included some different stuff, scenes that I hadn't seen in other erotica novels, but that are common acts in the bedroom. I appreciate stuff like that, makes me think the author is really thinking about what she is writing about.

The story line was interesting - I could be wrong, but I believe this is the author's first book? Don't know if it's her first attempt at writing or not. Either way, BRAVO. The voice and language of the book are VERY good. This is a person with talent. Once again, you can tell this is someone who is really thinking about what she is putting on paper, as opposed to someone just putting slop out there.

My ONLY issue with the story was that it was a bit too descriptive sometimes - I felt like I knew literally EVERYTHING Perla was doing EVERY minute of the day. Not necessarily a bad thing, just slowed down the story for me, personally. Some people really like a clear picture painted, though, and this book certainly did that. Plus, it's something that can be easily changed with editing and some helpful beta-reading.

Perla was awesome in that you could relate to her as a real woman. Matt was scorchingly sexy in a way that made me blush while reading.

All together, a very good book. The only reason it took me so long to read it is because I was in the middle of a heavy workload in my real life. Under normal circumstances, I would've devoured it.

Okay, so I did enjoy reading this book and the twist was a really good surprise that packed a punch back into a story what was starting become a little flat...

I loved the characters in this book, but I don't feel I can rate the book any higher than three stars because I had too many issues whilst reading this.

One: My God, Matt was pretty damn full on. After one week he wanted her to move in with him, was trying to give her a key to his place so she stayed there all the time. He wanted to be able to drive her and pick her up from every single place she went. We did get to see his side of things; he just wanted to keep her safe and take care of her. But it was suffocating!! Add her sheer determination to stay independent and self-sufficient caused a massive rift in their beginning relationship.

Two: They were bickering and arguing all the damn time!! You've only been together for two weeks. These are supposed to be the happiest, most exciting times for you guys, stop bloody bickering.

Three: The Pentagon storyline came in way too late. The storyline had gotten very slow and a little boring. We finally got an injection of life at around 90% and then the book ended. This new twist should have happened much much sooner instead of leaving it until the next book to find out what happened.

I will be reading the next book in the series to find out what happens next, but it wasn't a favourite...

3.5 You can't elect to have a one night stand with a man who knows your pap smear result stars.

Perla Mercurio is a girl who knows her own mind. Following an emotional divorce, that ripped all the life she had, she set about establishing a new one. She worked hard, 4 jobs, but was quietly content. She had sworn off men, but wasn’t shy at the odd, harmless flirt.

Being a dancer for many years, she suffered with latent injuries. A trip to the docs turn out to be the start of a whirlwind, all consuming relationship with a Dr Dashing.

Matt Keene was more than a Doctor. He took an instant interest in Perla, when she attended his surgery, disclosing where she worked during the day. He took an educated guess that if he attended the gym, given he had a current yet lapsed membership, he may just bump into her.

Co-incidence v fate..these two lovebirds hit it off & things ramped up very quickly. Dr Dashing didn’t appear to have any financial worries, whereas Perla owed the world. He seemed to be a dream come true when he wanted to spend every waking moment with her, whereas she was extremely reticent, given her past experience.

Needless to say, there is a BUT in this story, and then it all kicks off!

I enjoyed the storyline, and wanted a HEA very quickly, given the pace of their coupling. Perla was cautious and duly so. As the story unfolds, you become aware of her actions against the norm, and her rigidity to stick to the path that she knows. Matt was extremely attentive, and suitably helpful, which made you want to jump to his defence.

My only negative was that the author was too descriptive, laying the bones of every situation bare. The latter part of the book ramped right up, leaving us in limbo…

it took to around 95% of this book for it to come together and thats when we are given the premise of the story and their relationship.

I didnt enjoy this book and I ended up skimming over some of it as I lost interest due to the over descriptive prose from the author and lack of spark between the two characters - it wasn't there not a fizzle. Too much reasoning behind every situation to the point I almost gave up at 88%.

Although curious to find out where these two go (predictable enough to know there will be a HEA) I think I will leave well alone.

Hey guys,

How are you all doing today? I hope you’re well!

I’ve just finished rereading Rebound by Rosemary Rey and I loved it! From recollection I loved it the first time I read it as well, about 5 years ago.

5 Stars!

I read this for a few readathons:

For Reading Rivalry - A book I think should be a movie - I’d love to see this play out on television, actually but a movie is close enough.

For Litwits - A love story - that’s the central plot of Rebound and the whole Pentagon trilogy.

Literary Love Affair - Soulmate Love - Perla and Matt are what I class as realistic soulmates.

Popsugar Reading Challenge 2019 - A book by an author whose first and last names start with the same letter - Rosemary Rey.

Rebound is set in America and is about an almost 30 year old woman, Perla Mercurio and a doctor, Matthias Keene who have a very passionate affair...do they fall in love??? You’ll have to read to find out...

Rebound is a very character centric novel. Not much happens plot wise, apart from the characters interacting. I was fine with this as it’s what I expected when I first read it, those 5 years ago. It’s also written in first person prose. I love reading books that are like this because it’s as if I’m the main character, and when that’s a female, I feel that I can relate.

Note: there are a LOT of sex scenes in Rebound so if you’re under 18 or uncomfortable reading sex I don’t recommend it!

Spoilers Below...

“I tolerated the pain because I was young and loved to dance.”

Perla, our main character is at the doctors surgery to see someone about pain in her hip that she endured through dance when she was younger.

“Hives broke out all over my chest and shoulders while waiting to be seen by one,”

is on the first page of Rebound. She doesn’t like the thought of being seen by the doctor, as is evident above. She gets really nervous, hence the rash. We don’t know if the rash is true or but I suspect it’s just a statement used to describe her nerves. The nerves are described further in,

“I felt an itch, and I scratched my neck as my heart beat quickened. The nervous squirms in my belly made me nauseas.”

Perla clearly doesn’t know who the doctor will be. This makes her nervous because she’ll be revealing her body to a stranger. I know that I’d feel nervous doing this.

“Despite the extra pounds I carried in my midsection, hips, and behind, I looked good. My bust was always fuller, which conflicted with the slender body frame of ballerina’s. I felt sexier because of all the extra physical activity.”

We, the readers know that Perla is overweight from the above statement. This is revealed early on in Rebound. This is the first time the term “sex” is mentioned in any capacity anywhere in the book, but as I said above, it is described soooo much throughout, as it’s an erotic novel. Perla is proud to be who she is. she thinks she looks “good” too. When the doctor walks in, though, all nerves are forgotten about for Perla.

“I turned my head to see the most gorgeous man enter the room. He was tall, standing at about six foot, three inches. Ben was five foot, nine inches tall, and this man stood much taller and broader than my ex.”

This is the first time Perla sees the doctor, Matthias Keene or Matt as we come to know him through Perla. She thinks he’s beyond good looking and is more handsome than her ex, Ben. Ben only appears once much later in the book but is spoken of quite a bit as a bad comparison to Matt. Ben and Perla were married but when Ben no longer talked to her and just became really distant, she put a halt on their relationship. This is something I really admired about Perla. How she’s strong enough to say when she doesn’t want something and stand up for her beliefs. If more of us were like this, the world would be a better place, I think.

“I have to work to make ends meet. I have to work to pay off debts. I just can’t walk away from all I’ve built in the last two years. I don’t expect you to understand, but I hope you will respect why I live the way I do.”

Perla has to work two jobs to pay off her divorce. One at the gym, as a trainer and a receptionist and one at an Inn. The Inn job is more out of the kindness of Perla’s heart because Alice, one of the owners of the Inn is ill and Perla feels it’s right to help out and try to make it easier on her. Ross, Alice’s husband wants her to sell up.

“Ross isn’t interested in dealing with this anymore. He wants me to take the purchase offer for the Inn, but you know I can’t do it.” Ross wants Alice to rest and relax because she’s ill. She wants to keep going, though. Ross and Alice are very much side characters in the book. The Inn plays a significant role in “Rebound” later on and I believe in the other books, too. Is this for a good reason or a bad one? You’ll have to read to find out.

Matt doesn’t like Perla’s independence. He wants to protect her but as I said above she’s strong and she’ll do what she has to do to remain self sufficient. This was also refreshing, a book heroine actually wanting to be independent and not wanting to rely on others. Even though, this is a contemporary novel it’s still good to see. I wish that more fantasy and YA novels had this sort of main character, especially YA because adults, who are reading this should already know how to stand up for themselves and be brave in any situation realistically, but teenagers need role models to follow. Most main characters in the YA realm are dictated to in some way and told what to believe. They might try to overcome this but that is normally what their novel is about. Here, in Rebound, Perla is already brave and ready to stand up to whoever stands in her way.

“Am I right? Do you want me,” he asked again...
“Yes I want you...all the time.”

This is Matt asking Perla if she wants to have sex again. This couple is pretty much insatiable as all they do throughout Rebound is have sex. There are of course other important themes brought up to, some of which I’ve summarised above but the main theme of the book is sex. Perla and Matt are at it more than they’re not in the story. This is a clean moment above, which is why I’ve highlighted it. “I’m in. I’ve been in since I took you home with me. I was in when you stayed. When I found you sleeping on the couch, looking so beautiful and at home, in my home, I was in.” This just proves how much Matt loves Perla and wants to be with her. Even though neither of them reveals any sort of feelings to each other until near the end.

Matt introduces Perla to his friends near the end of the novel. She gets on with one of the women but none of the others. They all think they’re better than her.

“I’m sure Brady could hook him up with someone better. What the hell do they have in common?”

This is the girlfriend of one of Matt’s friends, Brady, talking about Perla and Matt’s relationship. Of course Perla being who she is, doesn’t like being talked about. She lets them know that she overheard them talking and that she doesn’t want to be friends with them. This is another instance of Perla being strong and standing up for herself.

Perla wants Matt to use a condom throughout “Rebound” because she’s scared to let him in, metaphorically more than physically.

“I wasn’t ready to allow him to be inside me without a barrier. I needed to play these encounters safe.”

She’s scared to connect to another man after what her ex husband did to her. Ben basically didn’t trust Perla after he thought that she lost their company from when they were together. Of course, Perla is innocent of this crime. It’s got nothing to do with her. What it has got to do with is revealed right at the end of Rebound, when Perla finds evidence that she’s not to blame. I don’t want to spoil any more but it’s a good and exciting reveal. Does Perla allow Matt in to her life? You’ll need to read to find out.

We see Matt’s family a little bit in “Rebound.” He and Perla go to visit his sister, her husband and their daughter once. This was nice, because we got to see Perla interact with other characters, not just Matt and her best friend, Chelsea. Perla loves seeing Matt as an uncle and is thinking about him as a father, too. “Matt walked over to Leona and bent down. She handed over a pinch of food, which he took in his mouth.” This shows just how animated Matt is with children. I believe he wants to be a father and for Perla to be the mother of his child but that isn’t revealed in “Rebound.”

At the end of Rebound we get a twist or a reveal in the story. It’s to do with the Inn and Matt’s friends. That’s all I want to say. What’s been going so well for Perla and Matt up to that point could all end up badly. Will it? You’ll have to read the trilogy to find out.

Overall then, I really enjoyed rereading Rebound, which is why I’m giving it 5 Stars! I love character centric stories that revolve around love. This one was sexy but it didn’t bother me. I wish there had been a few less sex scenes but they were what they were and it wasn’t horrible reading them. Is this a beautifully crafted piece of literature? No, but is it a good look into a relationship and the troubles that can evolve from said relationship? Yes! I’m excited to reread book 2 and read book 3 for the first time later in the year.

Stand by for my next review, coming soon...

Wow, can I say what a book! I thoroughly enjoyed this story from Matt and Perla.

I was left high and dry with the ending of this book and now I am anxious to continue reading this story. I want to see what happens, where it's going with these two lovebirds.

I'm a little surprised from what Matt did to Perla. From reading the story you can tell he loves her but what he did was wrong and now he's going to pay the consequences because Perla is a tough cookie and she doesn't put up with anyone's crap, no matter how much she loves or cares for that person and this is why I need to read the next book because I want to see how it all pans out for them in the second book.

I hope she makes him grovel and plead until he's blue in the face because that's what he deserves for deceiving her!

Perla has suffered after her divorce. She is not seeking to find a man, but it happens when she meets Dr. Matt Keene.

Dr. Keene was smitten with Perla the moment he laid eyes on her. His intentions are to pursue her and boy does her pursue her hard.

At first Perla is hesitant to have anything to do with her doctor, but somehow she is convinced that it won't hurt to have a one night stand. Well, it turns out her one night stand ends up being more than just one night. Things start escalating and Perla feels like this relationship is being rushed, but Matt doesn't feel like it is. He genuinely likes her and wants to continue pursuing her and see where the relationship goes.

Can Perla really trust him and work out something with Dr. Keene, can she make another commitment after what she went through with her ex-husband?

Another thing I liked about this book is that the heroine wasn't a woman with a super model's figure. She's actually curvy. I have nothing against books expressing that the girl is beautiful with a body to die for, but it's nice to actually read a book with a woman who is not so model material either because we are not all perfect with stick figures in this world lol!

Rosemary, I loved this book and it totally gets 5 stars from me. I would definitely jump and continue reading this love story because it has me intrigued and I want to keep reading about Matt and Perla.

OMG!!! This was an amazing read. I didn't see this ending coming I and I can't wait to read the next part of this story! Perla is one hard working woman. She works four jobs just to make ends meet. When she goes to see a doctor recommended by her co-worker about her hip pain she meets the handsome doctor who sets her soul on fire but Perla doesn't trust to easily, her ex-husband made sure of that. Matt is the handsome doctor who starts to make her trust again, believe in love and that maybe she does deserve happiness. But there's a twist that shatters everything and now Matt is about to lose the one think that truly makes him happy!

I simply cannot understand why there have been so many complaints about the sexual content. Hello this is labelled as erotica !!! I really enjoyed this book and the relationship between matt and perla. The book is well written and flows well. I had to read it in one sitting because I just had to know what happened. I'm not going to outline the plot because I may inadvertently give it away but you simply must add this book to your reading. I really really enjoyed it. On a final note I did not expect that ending!

I was given a copy of this book from the author for an honest review. I started this book not really knowing what to think. I just dove in and hoped for something half way good but was delightfully surprised when this book was really good. I really liked the story line and didn’t at all expect the surprises near the end, and yes it does end on a slight cliffhanger but book two is out, so make sure you get both books.

Perla is a stronger women now, after leaving behind a past that left her hurting and weak. She works ALOT so she can make ends meet and she is very adamant about being independent. So in some cases I found myself thinking she could have just sucked it up and excepted some of the things that Matt was doing for her. But I do understand her need to be independent, she was once burned and left to pick up the pieces by herself.

Matt is a handsome, very successful, and sweet doctor. He meets Perla in his office and has some run ins with her later, before they finally make that official contact with each other. Matt helps pull Perla out of her boring routine, he brings her back to life, and she starts to trust in others again. She starts to think that it is possible to love.

Their chemistry with one another is boiling. Perla is also not your typical young inexperienced girl in bed. This I found to be very interesting because it seems to be a trend in books for men to always be the dominate ones in the bed and seem to move things along. But here we have equal topping and bottoming from both Perla and Matt.

Which by the way Matt is hot, and I’ve added him to my new BBF. He does sweet things for Perla and he trys to hold back his alpha-ness so he wont scare her away. *sighs, swoons, sighs again.........

But then there’s the events that happen at the end of the book. Some things are revealed, some things are left un answered, and hearts are broken…

I was pretty happy to have book two out so I could rush right into it.

Where to begin with this review? I can safely say, after reading the first installment in The Pentagon Group series, that this is a 4-star read. My feelings while reading it were a different matter entirely.

Perla Mercurio is an ex-Vegas showgirl recovering from a nasty divorce and trying to get back on her feet by working various jobs and trying to stay fit.

Dr. Mathias Keene is an orthopaedic surgeon, a divorcee, and a very wealthy man. There's instant heat/lust and love that develops between Perla and Matt and Matt's desire to possess and control Perla is intense and immediate. They are both rebounding from their failed marriages and quickly become consumed by each other.

There's a lot lurking underneath the surface plot of this book, much of which is not revealed until around 80% into the story when we find out about the Pentagon Group and how it has factored into the lives of our main characters.

The Pentagon Group is a Billionaire Boys Club of sorts, and suddenly we go from a fairly pedestrian erotic romance to a fast moving romantic suspense.

Rey is able to create a sense of foreboding through most of the book with the reader waiting for 'the other shoe to drop' so to speak. When we finally get to peel back a couple of layers to get to the heart of what's really going on, we are left with a crazy cliffhanger that blindsides the reader and many of the characters in the book as well.

It takes a long time to get into what is actually going on, and nothing is quite as it appeared early on, but it's a bit drawn out getting to that point and the reader has to be patient while Rey weaves her web.

Hopefully the twists are interesting enough to make the wait worthwhile. I certainly thought so, but the approach may not be for everyone!

When I opened this book and read the first few chapters, I thought that it's a bit bland and boring for my taste and that it would not piqued my interest. It took me a few more chapters before the book managed to reel me in.

I've read a lot of books and there were times when you can almost predict where the story would be going. Like who killed who or so on and so forth.

But then I was wrong with this story. I never expected the twist in this book. I was not prepared by that twist in the story.

Well, i guess that's about it.

I can't wait for the second book in this series. :)

***Arc giving for honest review****

I'm not sure on how to start my review I never want to come off to harsh because it take guts to write a book and put it out there and I could never do it. Now with that being said I just couldn't get into this one. I had moments I just knew it was going to pick up and suck me in but that is not happen so it took me longer than usual to finish. It wasn't the storyline that I had a problem with it was Perla. I know her character was supposed to be like a "real" woman but I just didn't like her she got on my nerves. But I would say the last chapter really sucked me in and has me very curious on what is about to go down between Matt and Perla. So would I read the second book...Yes I would because I hate leaving things unfinished and I would love to see where the author is going with the storyline.

4.5 stars - would have been 5 with better editing

OK First off it ends on a cliffhanger that had me in tears - so much so hubby made me a mug of hot chocolate and asked what was wrong!

I loved the whole story. It's a 2nd chance love story for both the female and male main characters. It's also got a heck of a lot of hawt smex and i mean HAWT! then there is the twist at the end ...

Be prepared with a box of tissues handy, a bottle of your favourite AND chocolate because the last chapter or sI found to be totally heartbreaking (no spoilers as to why)/

It's so nice to see a female character go from being so totally negative about herself image to rocking it and discovering there is so much more out there.

I can't wait to read book 2 (after xmas when I have some money again lol)

Highly recommended.

I was gifted a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

WOW! Fantastic Read! Seriously in my top 10 of the year. As soon as I am done leaving reviews, I will be purchasing book two due to the cliffhanger. :)

Let me just start by saying this book was so well written I found myself absorbed in it and totally losing myself to the movie in my head! As a debut novel this author shows no signs of having problems with making her writing flow.

The book was RED HOT when it needed to be, emotional at all the right times, and then she threw out the plot twist! Matt is the perfect guy. Written so well that even if he wasn't your type you wanted him. Perla was cute and independent, and that is always a great trait in a female lead.

I seriously cannot wait to read more from this author. This is a CANNOT MISS READ!

I found the story-line interesting, I rolled my eyes a few times and skipped pages as there seemed to be more sex than story to most chapters. There were some great part, but also bits that I felt could have been removed without affecting the flow of the story. I do get that this is a contemporary erotic romance, spanning a 7 week period. But I think a more condensed version would have kept me more enthralled and less likely to skip bits.

The editing could have been a little tighter, but overall it didn't affect the story, and nobodies perfect not even the Big Name Authors.

The ending of the book was something I didn't see coming. Although the climax at the end could have been part of the overall story.

At first it was difficult for me to get into the story. I felt like I was reading flat words on a page (though I literally was) and not immersed in their world. However, they soon felt real to me and I very much enjoyed the story line. The twist at the end was not what I thought was coming and it really livened the story up to make me look forward to the next one. The h/H dynamic was interesting in that I was actually wondering what could possibly go wrong by the end of the story. One thing I really did like was that the h took charge in the bedroom instead of just the H! You don't see that too much and it was quite refreshing.

ARC given in return for an honest review.

Rebound by Rosemary Rey is awesome! I loved Perla and Matt and was cheering on the growing love between them, when a plot shocker hit! OMG I was not expecting that!!! Sexy, curvy Perla hooks up with her hot billionaire doctor and the chemistry ignites. But will the secret he's harboring destroy their budding relationship? I certainly hope it doesn't!!!

18+ due to sexual content (hot steamy scenes)
Cliffhanger alert!!!!

SEX,SEX,SEX! Got you interested? Now add some dirty language. While reading Rebound I found myself thinking that this story was farfetched and I wasn't going to give it anything higher than one star. Sex was the initial common ground of the main characters, which made sense. It is erotica. Falling in love in such a short time just didn't seem believable. Then came the last chapter and the cliffhanger. You are going to want to read what happens in the sequel.

What a hot read! The storyline became more intense as the novel progressed. Though at times there was alittle bit too much info about the mundane things in Perla's everyday life, the rest of the story more than compensated for it. Love the chemistry between Perla & Matt- the sex is hot hot hot!!!! Ummm- where can I find my own Matt?? The second novel in this series has even more suspense & drama- cannot wait for the third installment!

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. To me it was unlike most erotica where the female is needy and submissive. Perla was neither! She was very to the fact and almost alpha-ish. I did find it to somewhat too descriptive but nothing that took away from the book. I liked the plot twist at the end and with definitely buy the next in the series.
