Rate this book
The edge-of-your-seat fifth book in the Annie Graham crime thriller series * * * *

Don’t go into the woods. Because you’re in for a big surprise…

Annie Ashworth is currently off duty. With her baby bump growing fast, she is under strict instructions to stay away from police work and look after herself, especially as she has a history of leading danger right to her door. So when her police officer husband, Will, is called to the discovery of a skeleton buried out in the local woods, Annie tries to keep out of the investigation. But as another body is discovered and her own niece suddenly goes missing, staying away just isn’t an option.

As Annie is soon to discover, a picture really does tell a thousand stories. But which one leads to a killer?

I had a bit of a problem with this book, the blurb was great but when I came to read this (paper back for once), it was a tad tedious. I really can't think why Will was placed in the book, he was Annie's husband and he seemed a bit of a non-entity all the way, the book was really all about Annie who was 7mths pregnant and off duty but she wasn't, she was very involved in everything going on. The kidnapping of her niece, the disappearance of girls from many years ago... and then the bodies began to be dug up in the woods behind a few houses, in one of them lived a young photographer and whose wife Annie had befriended...

Annie made me feel despondent most times, she wasn't doing any of the things asked by anyone, she just carved her own path and disregarded everyone else along it, and at the end she came perilously close to losing her own life. Soo as Will was a tad of a non-entity and Annie grated with me by her oh I have to do everything I want to do even if it means disregarding the people around me and my wishy-washy husband's advice, perhaps there are others in the series which are better reads? I expect I shall never know now!

Omg what can I say this book certainly had me gripped especially once I got about half way through. I found myself reading the second half so much faster trying to find out what happened next!

Also had my eyes welling up on a few occasions too!

Written really well my only regret is I didn’t realise that it was actually part of a series and now I need to read the ones written before this one was.

I absolutely love everything this author writes. This is the last of the Annie Graham series…but not the last of Annie in Helen’s books!!! I was so sad this is the last in the series-I hope one day the series will continue!

I loved this one.

It was a lot better than the previous two in this series

Even though you still know who the bad guy is from the start there are a few twists that I did not see coming.

I'm looking forward to the last one in the series.

Still love these characters, but definitely would not like to live wherever they are way too many serial killers around. enjoyable read. I more in the series left for me to read.
