Readers LOVE Shadow Thieves! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“One of my favourite reads of all time"
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"Reading this book helped me to escape the real world and enter into a world full of imagination"
Such a sweet, sweet book. Very fast paced (multiple times I had to reread to understand) and also a heavy book. A lot of heavy vocabulary (compared to other today's books) and long, dramatic sentences. So the writing style was definitely unique. Took me some time to read it (more than 2 weeks shamefully🫢) because the story had a certain kind of drag to it. I don't know how to explain more than that LOL. But the concepts and the story of the book itself are OMG so sooo good. You want crime, murder, drama? DONE. But you want it in a classy, fancy and 'propAH' way? DONE. You want a society of assassins, thieves and others with such a strong brotherhood and sense of community? DONE. You want a school to train 'thieves'? DONEE!!! I just love the creativity in the 'world' of the story, the ways of the thieves, their class names (I was ROARING at the names of the books in Tom's room🤣) and the way that Tom's responsible for the rest of the orphans and then frees them at the end? My heart MELTED.
So definitely going to read this again, probably when I have lost my belief in mankind.
I loved going on this adventure with Tom, meeting all the interesting characters along the way! Peter Burns did an amazing job making the characters feel real and created the perfect atmosphere when setting the scenes. Great twists throughout! This book is aimed at a younger audience. However, it can be enjoyed by all ages. When I was reading it, I did feel it had a modern day, Oliver Twist meets Harry Potter vibe about it. So well written. I was totally disappointed when it ended and can't wait for the next instalment! Thank you, @NetGalley, for the advanced copy.
