When the fae invaded England with their armies and their magic, everyone felt like the world had changed overnight. It hadn’t. Especially if you were an Ironwood.
While humans lost their knowledge of magic and monsters, the Ironwoods have been fighting against evil for centuries.
While gods, fae, and magicians turned into tall tales and ghost stories, the Ironwoods became the stuff of legends themselves.
Now, with Morrigan’s Generals free again in the world, the Ironwoods are going to need all their training—and their new fae brothers—to stop them.
This box set collects all four stories of the Ironwood women as they get into plenty of trouble, slay their enemies, and find true love.
Please Ironwood contains adult content, including violence, swearing, and steamy sex scenes.
Alessa Thorn believes that all monsters and villains deserve their happy endings. She prefers her clothes black, eyeliner winged and books full of hot romance. She thinks heroes are boring, so her first series 'The Court of the Underworld' centers around dark gods, monsters and villains from her favorite Greek Myths.
All four of the Ironwood universe stories, are available on Audible… for only 1 credit. 👀 Currently listening to my favorite comfort reads, because if you know me… I’m always listening to an audiobook. Imogen is wonderfully hilarious, but I’m more of a blend of Charlotte (Charlie), Layla, and Ciara. 😏 Thoroughly enjoying this but I preferred the narrator for The Wrath of the Fae trilogy.
Trash and treasure: 4⭐️ Charlotte Ironwood is the magician of the family and has no interest in working with Reeve “trash magic” Greatdrake. They used to be friends and were both in love with each other but had a falling out. Turns out that the Greatdrakes have dragon blood and Charlotte is Reeve’s mate, something that comes out when she in danger. Morrigan’s battle bard want to take her to use her body as a vessel for Morrigan’s soul after he releases her other two generals. I liked their chemistry, I liked how well Reeve understood her, I loved how his family was with her and with him… it was just a good story with lots of self reflection and characters being forced to confront their feelings. One thing I love about this series is how the princes, the Ironwoods and the Greatdrakes have become this weird, extended family though marriage.
God touched: 4⭐️ Imogen is as awesome as I thought she way. Obsessed with death Imogen has had several encounters with the death got Arawn. He comes to the mortal world to deal with his enemy who was freed in a previous book. Well actually it’s to find and protect Imogen. She really doesn’t need his protection. She’s independent and knows what she wants and yes she’s reckless too but she owns her strength and I love that. I also loved how Arawn was enamoured with her strength, fighting skills etc. It’s what he liked best about her and I just love that so much. I didn’t totally love the way she reacted to some things but no one is perfect and there’s no character development without flaws. Besides, Arawn kinda forces her to deal with her shit and self delusions.
Elf shot: 3.5⭐️ Layla and Arne were an interesting match. I appreciated how he was so irate that she didn’t think she was enough or important. Layla is the “babysitting” Ironwood and lacks self esteem so being the mate of the elf prince didn’t sit well. But she’s so sneaky too. I love how she started a literal god pissing match because she knew that was the easiest way to deal with Vili. They have great chemistry and the 🌶️ was great. Playful Arne is amazing.
Luna cursed: 3.5⭐️ Ciara and Tor have this love hate relationship. He’s a wolf shifter and after they killed her parents when she was a child, she hates wolves. In fact Ciara is known as the Wolf Slayer because she specializes in putting down bad wolves. Tor is the strongest alpha but his sister is missing. Ciara turns up dying from a wolf bite and knowledge of where his sister is as well as Varg, the guy who bit her and is trying to free Fenrys. Tor saves her but makes a bond in the process. I liked how he challenged her and met her where she was, pushing her to overcome her fears. It was great when they finally ended up together. A ton of explosive chemistry. Her relationship with her brother is very sweet.
adventurous challenging dark mysterious sad tense medium-paced Plot- or character-driven? A mix Strong character development? Yes Loveable characters? Yes Diverse cast of characters? No Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated Overall: 4.5
Audiobook (audible) -
Trash and Treasure 4⭐️ - interesting story surrounding a fae and a dragon fae. The dragon adds fates mates into the story and Reeve says some horrible things to dissuade another from pursuing his mate Charlotte. This causes a 5 year distance between the two until they are forced to work together to save Charlotte from being an evil vessel with a delightful hea ending.
God Touched 4.75⭐️ - love this Death God human romance novel. She’s been doing everything she can to chase the peaceful feeling she experienced upon her first drowning death and has become indebted to the Death God for his 2 resurrections of her. Being forced to be his liaison to the fae world, their relationship quickly grows for a hea ending.
Elf Shot 4.25⭐️ - world development continues with fae/human mate, father stealing his son, magical development with both mate bond and full control of another, and a war. Also shows the strength and resilience of humans and how powerful they are. Hea for the main couple, but the main villain has escaped leaving the opening for the next book.
Luna Cursed 4.5⭐️ - werewolf Hunter gets bitten while finding a lost werewolf and goes to the brother wolf who helps her through the bite. The added werewolf pack dynamics to this overarching series story continues to build this magical world. The books specific plot was interesting.
Damn the follow up to the last trilogy following the ironwood clan and it was pretty nice.
Book 1 - Charlotte + Reeve: I imagine them as a cute witchy couple. Love their sass hate the fact that it was miscommunication why they took 4 fucking years to get here.
Book 2- Imogen + Arawan: IMOGEN MY BITCH. Perfect chaos. No notes. 10 stars
Book 3 - Layla + Arne: MY nerdy lotr elven couple I love them I adore them. I especially love their communication. Very good.
Book 4 - Ciara + Tor: werewolves with a more Nordic twist. Loved the spunk and fire tbh and bitch that fight scene had me kicking my feet cause yes bitch get yo man.
I loved this entire series—but Ironwood? The Ironwood Sisters? They are the crown jewels. Each sister stood out in her own bold, beautiful, chaotic way, and I adored how individual their voices felt across the series. Alessa Thorn nailed the balance of grit, heart, sass, and spice with this one. The world, the relationships, the unbreakable bonds between the sisters—it all came together in a way that was addictive from start to finish. This book didn’t just stick the landing, it did it in stilettos with blood on the heels. Iconic. I’m obsessed, and honestly, I’d happily live in the Ironwood world forever if Alessa keeps writing it.

I had never read anything by Alessa Thorn but I quite enjoyed the Ironwood series. The series is based on England where humans didn't know of their existence but the Ironwood have been fighting against evil for centuries. Now there is an evil that is against the world again that they have to figure out how to defeat. This entry is not the entire series but actually just for Book 4 that I couldn't find in good reads
The story line isn’t unique but it was still a nice listen. I think all the ass kicking and the spiciness was what did it for me. Each story had a bad ass heroine and lots of having sex with super powerful men. I did enjoy it. However, I only gave it four stars because I felt like the story wasn’t complete and I was missing a huge part that’s not part of these books. Anyone else feel like something is missing?
Similar to the Wrath of Fae boxset, this series continues in the world of the Fae and introduces more characters within the universe. I enjoyed that all four books had different characters within different worlds of their own. With lots of action, spice and some amazing MFC this series has a little something for everyone.
Captivating read! A definite must to add to your library. The Far Universe and the Ironwood series will have you on the anticipated edge ready to battle with them. The strength of the heroin is inspiring and humbling when they finally work though their own bs and except the love they have denied themselves for so long and all the wrong reasons.
I have no idea why. All four books in this collection are unique and extremely well written. The four Ironwood women are strong but different. I’m looking forward to more of the stories in this universe.
I loved all 4 stories of the Ironwood ladies! Each was a bad azz in their chosen areas and found strong interesting magical men to rock their worlds! Great action and heated intimate scenes it was simply marvelous!🥰
