Lauren is up for the opportunity of a life-time, to be the lead producer for a new reality show set in Nantucket. Nantucket Influence will follow a group of young influencers as they spend the summer at a gorgeous waterfront home. It is a concept that Lauren has worked on successfully before and the job is hers—as long as she doesn’t mind that one of the influencers is Billy—the ex that she caught cheating on her. Does she really want to spend the summer working with him every day? This is her first chance to run a show, though, and she can’t pass it up.
Hudson, runs a Nantucket based production company, with famous actress and new Nantucket resident, Cami Carmichael. Hudson is good friends with Billy, but Lauren finds herself drawn to him. But she knows they shouldn't be more than friends since they are working together—and since Lauren will be heading back to LA when filming ends.
Meanwhile Angela is thrilled to see her college friend Lauren and has some exciting news to share. And Lisa discovers that her nemesis, Violet, who runs a competing inn is ready to declare herself as the top lobster quiche maker on the island. But not if Lisa has anything to say about it—she signs up for the local food festival as well and will let the people decide who makes the best quiche.
Pamela M. Kelley is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of women's fiction, family sagas, and suspense. Readers often describe her books as feel-good reads with people you'd want as friends.
She lives in a historic seaside town near Cape Cod and just south of Boston. She has always been an avid reader of women's fiction, romance, mysteries, thrillers and cook books. There's also a good chance you might get hungry when you read her books as she is a foodie, and occasionally shares a recipe or two. :)
So many errors. How did Felipe become Pierre? Characters that literally have breakfast together claim to not have seen each other for years when they reconnect at dinner the next night. The story is fine as far as it goes (if you’ve read one of the novels in this series, you have read them all) but I can’t get past literally renaming a character with no explanation.
At first I thought I wasn't going to like this one. The plot is about filming a reality show. I am so happy that I was wrong. I loved this book and was so happy to be back on Nantucket and visiting old friends, while discovering new ones.
This is probably my least favorite in this series. With Lisa and her children and their partners, there are already a lot of characters in this series, and with every subsequent book, she's adding a few more, like a house full of influencers. I would have much rather had more focus on the characters that have already been introduced in the past eight books, and some things didn't add up. In book 8, Kristen and Tyler were married, but in book 9, they're referred to as boyfriend and girlfriend? in book 7 or 8, I seem to remember Abby being pregnant with her second child, but there's no mention of anything about that baby in book 9. if the series continues, I would love to see it go back to a focus on Lisa, the Inn and her family.

My thoughts: 📱11% 49:44 Ch. 9 - I love it so far. I think I needed a break from this series or the audio glosses over the flaws you see in print. I can’t wait to continue but I'm going to get the heartbreaking yet uplifting ebook out of the way and then I can reward myself with this book and a clean house.
It seems like half the books I read this year have influencers and it's not even March yet. This was a bit cheesy but fantastic like comfort food. Leslie Howard was amazing with all of the voices.
Recommend to others?: Yes! This is one of the best books of the series.
Beach Plum Cove 1. The Nantucket Inn (2019) 2. Nantucket Neighbors (2019) 3. Nantucket White Christmas (2019) 4. A Nantucket Affair (2020) 5. Nantucket Weddings (2020) 6. Nantucket Threads (2021) 7. Nantucket News (2021) 8. Nantucket Homes (2023) 9. Nantucket Summer House (2024)
Am I the only one who noticed that in consecutive chapters starting around chapter 14 it's Sunday at noon and then 2 chapters later it's at 10 o'clock in the morning?. The inbetween chapters make it clear its all the same day because of the clam bake being that night and then the following chapter says it's Monday morning, so somehow we have Sunday twice in there. How is this possible?
Chapter 31: How did they go from the whaling museum from 2 to 4 PM with a reception afterwards to shopping in town for various things to getting back to the house before a party started at 5 and still have time to decorate, have the guys go out for beach games and make up drinks, and then the guests arrive at 5 after they'd done all of that?
Chapter 21:Philip makes swordfish for Lauren and it's so good. It's marinated and he grills it and he knows how to make it perfectly. Chapter 33: Lauren says to Philip-I didn't know you were such a good cook.Yes, he says it's (lasagna) one of the few things I know how to make. (And is the other actually grilled swordfish that's been perfectly marinated? Really.)
Chapter 21:an entire discussion where Lauren is present about how Hudson was a star player in high school for hockey. Chapter 36:Lauren says Oh Hudson.I didn't realize you played hockey in high school. Is there even an editor?
Early in the book, Katy is described as having auburn hair. Auburn hair is red with brown in it. Later she is simply described as being a brunette..which is it?
Chapter 37, Simon the cat is described as running around the room having the "roomies"-- I think someone meant the zoomies?
Chapter 40, how can she leave work at 10 PM and say she didn't mind that she left work to have dinner with her parents, when her parents weren't going to take a ferry to Nantucket until the next day. It's impossible for her to have had dinner with them when she didn't leave work until after 10 and they weren't coming till Nantucket to the next day. She certainly didn't go to the Cape to have dinner with them after ten pm. It also ends the chapter by saying she'd see them the next day at the food festival, but in chapter 42, the next day is a party with a cookout and the food festival isn't until the following day.
Also, am I the only one who noticed that this author doesn't use contractions? Is there a reason none of these people in their twenties use contractions? It's a fun beach type book. But the inconsistencies and the way they speak is just weird.

I just look so forward to catching up with everyone at Lisa's Inn. Lisa is the matriarch of the series. Everyone at one time or another has stayed at Lisa's Inn. She is the glue that holds everyone together, or maybe it is her Lobster Quiches!!! This story centers on Lauren who is directing a reality show on Nantucket. It is in a large home on the beach, just a few houses down from Lisa's Inn. Lauren is a friend of Angela's, who we know from an earlier book in the series. The reality stars who are going to stay and be filmed 24/7 are all very successful bloggers. So the dynamic between them all is really interesting. Lauren was dating one of the bloggers Billy, until she found out from watching another blog that he was cheating on her. So there was a bit of concern having him living in the house with all the other bloggers and Lauren seeing him every day. Lauren found out immediately, it wasn't going to be a problem, but does Billy want her back or will he hook up with one of his housemates. Or is there someone else in the house that takes her attention... You need to read this excellent book to find out.. Pamela M. Kelly writes another amazing book in this fantastic series!
It was fun to “visit”Nantucket again. The reality show drama is not too interesting to me, but I liked the various characters. There is no bad language or uncomfortable sex going on—-just good clean fun with a little drama, and happy endings. All the food they eat makes me hungry. Sounds delicious!
Absolutely loved this book. Returning to see Lisa and Nantucket. Great characters and a super interesting story line. Hated to see it come to an end! Pamela Kelley did it again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My intelligence was insulted by this author. Why do I need to be told at least five times per book that Rhett has black coffee before eating at breakfast? Guess what: Millie’s has great scallop and bacon tacos! We know because every character in every book orders them every time the place is mentioned. I’m unsure why/how Felipe became Pierre, but it royally pissed me off. Also unsure why character thought processes and conversations between characters are repeated throughout the text; we’ve been with you this far, no need to keep saying the same stuff ad nauseam. You lost me. By the way, why, in the ninth book of a series, would one add about ten new characters to a long list of existing ones? 💩
Having read all of the books in this author’s Beach Plum Cove series, I was excited to read the latest installment. In this book, a reality tv show has come to film on Nantucket in a summer house. The cast of the tv show are all new characters, however, favorite characters from previous novels(Lisa, Rhett and Angela) are featured prominently in the book. As in the author’s previous books, the reader feels like they’re on Nantucket, enjoying all that the island has to offer. This is a fun, quick and easy read.
I did like the cameos from all the past characters of the Beach Plum Cove Inn; but there were almost too many new characters in the summer house to keep track of. But I still enjoyed this summer read!
Lauren comes back to the East Coast to help produce and film a "Big Brother" type reality show on Nantucket Island.
It's kinda...boring and slow moving for over 300 pages. Not that much hype and until over half way through does Lauren's love interest smile at her.
If you read the back jacket, that's the book. Oh and it of course ends happily ever after with everyone getting engaged after knowing each other for two months.
Seems a little contrived and not as much character development as the previous novels.
There is plenty of mention of great food and of course wine, so a book club will have no trouble picking out a theme meal.
I love all the books in this series. I had a slight problem keeping all the reality show people straight. I have never seen a reality show so I am not sure if this book made me want to watch one. Sorry but it seemed boring to me. I was happy with what is happening in the series regular characters lives. Still a good book.
So many plot holes. I was hoping this would wrap up the characters storylines but so many from book #8 were just dropped. Abby was pregnant. Kristen didn’t know if she wanted children. Chase wanted to buy a house to renovate. How many times did we need to hear about the store with the Nantucket Red??? And what the heck happened to Mia and Will? Why were the married couple even at the house? know there are more but I’m baffled by this book. Should’ve just been a stand alone book IMO.
I've read MANY of Pamela Kelley's books and was eagerly awaiting this one. I stopped reading halfway through. What WAS this??? This series was about a family and suddenly it's about reality TV? Couldn't keep the MANY new "characters" straight and honestly couldn't muster any interest in them or their ridiculous show.
Such a cute story and loved the little bit of drama that was added in as well as being reintroduced to some of the characters from the previuos books in the series. Very quick read for me! Loved the cast of characters list as well very helpful to jog my memory.
Why is Felipe now Pierre (on the audio book at least), it’s very frustrating! I’ve listened to all of the books in the series and have enjoyed them overall.
Nantucket Summer House by Pamela Kelley is the latest in the Beach Plum Cove series. One of the things I instantly liked was a recap on all the characters throughout the series and how they relate to each other. This made it so easy to just dive in. We get reacquainted with all the regular characters and meet some new people. Lauren is the lead producer for a new reality show based in Nantucket. There is a whole cast of characters you’ll get to know as well as the rest of the production team. The book is filled with all things Nantucket and for those of us who have spent time there, you will be transported to the beach leaving you longing for another trip and for lobster quiche. If you’ve read this series, I highly recommend this latest book. If you have not read the series you have a fun experience ahead of you. Enjoy!
Loved this 9th book in the Beach Plum Cove book series. You don't have to read from the beginning as the characters are outlined in the beginning of the book to assist. Beach Plum Cove is the B&B owned by Lisa that is the home base for the 9 stories. The earlier books each give stories of her adult children who still live on Nantucket and are entrepreneurs and business owners.
This new book is about a producer who comes to Nantucket to work on a Reality TV series based on a group of influences coming together and living on Nantucket in a beach house for the summer. Cameras are in every room, flings and summer romances blossom as the roommates spend more time together. There is some drama along the way for sure!
Highly recommend, it was a great read one of my favorites since the first book!
I really loved this story. Lauren , who is producing a reality show in Nantucket, loves it there, they are producing a reality show pertaining to influencers living together in one big beach house. Lauren's friend Angela lives there and she is staying at Lisa' s bed and breakfast for the summer. Joining her is Eloise and Hudson ,who runs a Nantucket based production company along with Cami Carmichael. They have an exciting summer, which you will have to read about to know how it ends. This is one of this author's best books. I read it in 2 days after having to stop to sleep. Of course all of Pamela's books are GREAT READS. I started reading this author with the Beach Plum Cove Series and have read everything else in between.
This might be on me for starting this series on book 9 but it was on the new release shelf at the library and looked cozy. It really was. Super picturesque of the NorEastearn area BUT it was very hard to get into the story. Only about half way did I feel connected. Partly because the story jumps from character to character so fast and maybe it’s bc I didn’t know the characters - maybe they were introduced in the past 8 books? The other thing that got me was I’m reading the 2024 copyright book and the typos! There are random “#” where I’m almost sure was supposed to be the official page break (which shows as a slash across the book) and there’s even a couple sentences which are like: “‘Well we should tell Lauren.’ Says Lauren”. Must say, finding typos in books is my jam though haha!
Having finished the entire series, Nantucket Summer House ended up being my favorite of the bunch. Pamela Kelley really captured the charm of Nantucket in this one, and I felt more connected to the characters than in some of the earlier books. The pacing moved smoothly, the family and relationship dynamics felt natural, and it had just the right mix of heart and light drama.
While the story is still on the cozy and predictable side, that’s part of what makes it such a comfort read. It was the perfect way to wrap up the series, leaving me satisfied but also a little sad to say goodbye to these characters.
If you’ve been following along with the series, this one is a must-read—and for me, the standout.
