Down with the Shipmans is one of those juicy, addictive, summery family dramas. The three Shipman sisters, Jordan, Natalie, and Mae, return to their childhood beach house, each carrying their own secrets, grief, and chaos. What starts as a simple family reunion quickly turns into a swirl of emotions once their father announces he’s selling their beloved home. I enjoyed how each sister’s storyline felt distinct but still connected, balancing humor, tension, and bittersweet moments that come with cleaning out a family home. Meg Mitchell Moore has become one of the authors I look forward to reading every summer, and this book reminded me exactly why. It’s heartfelt, messy, and full of heart…everything a good summer novel should be!
