Creature Notte Star has always fought for the betterment of her kind. She has suffered the loss of loved ones at the hands of humans. She understands that most of the species in her world are a result of Adam’s experiments to recreate his own DNA. None of this matters when she discovers she is being sent to Deciding Island for judgment. Stories of her kind becoming Island Ash have haunted her since childhood. There are no memorials for those that don’t come back from DI. Cre is not only a well-trained combatant but also a rescuer with a reputation of never losing a hostage. During a no kill rescue mission Cre finds that a combatant that was told his help was not needed is killing the kidnappers. Mica the combatant in question was an Infin and as far as Cre was concerned no better than a human. Mica’s trying to help with this rescue resulted in Cre having to kill the one person whose death starts a war, and gets her sent to Deciding Island. After landing on Deciding Island and a series of events occur Cre finds that her life is now and forever tied to her childhood nightmares. But the alternative is unthinkable the death of her mate. On the Island Cre discovers the magic, meets the inhabitances, and realizes that things are not always what they seem.
To be totally honest i don't like vampire books that much but as i started reading this one i was hooked in the first few pages. I loved the story line and all the characters, Murphy really made this book Suspenseful. I love her writing style and the way she keeps you wanting more with each page. my favorite character would have to be Mica, He was a very nice looking man with a charismatic personality and he had a carefree attitude toward life. Murphy also describes everything so well you can actually imagine yourself there with all the characters. I have to say for her first book she has done an amazing job. I am looking forward to reading future books of hers. I recommend this book to everyone!
Rain Murphy is amazing! I love the spin she puts on the whole fairytale-creatures thing. I adore the characters especially the little potties they are so mischevious!! If you like vampires, werewolves and other mythical creatures this is a great way to look at them. Excited to read the rest the series! 5 stars for originality!
I love all the imagination put into this book. I wish we could all go to deciding island. I am sure each one of us out here could use a lesson in something. I wonder what the island would have to teach me. I loved the little potties. The mischief they caused I could imagine me being tied to my own bed with my hair. Man i would be so mad! I think i would have loved to have visited the tree farms. Think about it. Trees that produce meat candy and fruit. That part of the book i wonder if she got her inspiration from charley and the chocolate factory. I really liked how she found her best friend like in most books i figured she would have been evil. But nope not here this poor girl finds love! Now the Main characters of this book. I liked the little picking on each other they did. I really liked how the island forced them together. Rain told us how they felt when they were drawn to the island but how did it feel when they learned their lesson. Awww the triplets. I wonder what they would serve me on the train. A hot steaming cup of capuchino or an ice cold Coke. What would my food treat be? I can see these three in my mind so clearly as three little kids. Playful, mischievous, and elfish comes to mind. I also like how she explained how the different types of "feeders" had their own part of the island. I would be really jealous if the rose eaters place was more pretty then mine. I really enjoyed this book. I hope the next time your leafing through for a easy loving cheerful book you pick this up and explore Deciding island.
I enjoyed reading this book. It's all about Creature who has to learn to set aside her hatreds and her past. To face the one man really responsible for the death of her parents and not the "hated" humans who actually killed them. On a rescue mission she kills someone she wasn't suppose to because someone interfered with her mission which starts a huge war between the Good races and the renegades of their kind. Because of this she is sent to deciding island where most people don't ever return from. Here she will stay till she learns a few lessons about herself, about those around her, and through her own advice to her friends she learns things she needs to change about herself. Mica ends up being everything that Creature hates, but if she can learn forgiveness will he end up being her salvation. This was well worth reading and I look forward to the next story.
I've never been a big fan of paranormal books but I really liked this book. It took me a bit to get into it but once I did, I really enjoyed it. All of the different creatures were so detailed and there was so much back ground but it was all needed to fully understand the story line. I love the mail female character, Creature. She is so strong and determined and as much as she wants to fight it, has a big lesson to learn. I think she goes above and beyond her call of duty and all that is expected of her.
I would definitely recommend this if you are into paranormal :)
Five Stars all around. Rain has an active imagination and it shows in her writing. Strong and easy flowing plot line and strong character list. I would defiantly recommend this book to a friend. Keep up the great work Rain, and I look forward to reading more books from you.
This book was very good!!! I loved the way Rain developed the characters as I read. I felt like I was watching them more then reading about them. If your looking for a Vamp read that once you start you cant put down...this is the book for you
Creature is this amazing heroine vampire that works as a combatant, aka police, protector, (or whatever you want to call it), and keeps order amongst her species here on earth. `When her Uncle Ross, whom is also her boss, sends her out on a no kill mission to rescue a group of kidnappees, shit goes wrong, and she finds herself on Decision Island. Decision Island is where the non-humans go when they break the rules, and not all of them return...
Creature Notte Starr lost her parents as a young child and was raised by her Uncle Ross and along with her cousin Thomas. She knows pain and grief all to well, especially after losing her husband in the last war. For Cre to be able to cope with such a loss, she has been working undercover and taking out the “bad guys” as a vigilante. Her Uncle warned her that if she didn't quit their was the strong possibility she would be sent to DI. Trying her best wasn't good enough and she landed herself on the island. Terrified that she would never see her family again, Cre just wanted to hurry up and “learn her lesson” from the island. The one thing Cre did not factor in was that her lesson involved Mica, her soul mate.
The lesson behind the story kids is forgiveness, just as the book title suggests. You can run, but you can never hide from your pain. Cre had a ton of pain that she buried deep down, and while on the island had to face that pain and deal with it. Along her journey were some interesting characters, in particular a little potty named Blue. The interactions Cre experienced with others while there was what made this story so intriguing. I caught myself saying out loud, "awe", and "oh no" a lot! It was such a heart felt book to read that I don't think I have encountered such a story written quiet this way. The book appealed to my love of the paranormal, fantasy, and romance. Creature and Mica's story is definitely one I will never forget!
