Credence, Colorado #3

Asking for Trouble

Rate this book
After two years in Credence trying to fade into the background, Della Munroe is sick of being invisible. She's ready to take back control - to live a little. Hell, she's ready to see what all this dating fuss is about. And if that means she has to download Tinder and date every guy in Colorado, then she's up for it.

After her first disastrous attempt, she decides navigating online dating would be better with a wingman, and there’s no better person for it than Tucker Daniels. After all, he is a man. And he owns a bar, which practically makes him a relationship expert. He's also her older brother's best friend. Yes, she may have the teeniest tiniest inconvenient crush on him, but he's always had her back.

Tucker Daniels would rather eat broken glass than watch Della get her groove back with a bunch of douchebag dudes only out for one thing. Unfortunately, he's never been able to say no to her, and, before he knows it, Tucker's not only vetting her dates - he's teaching her to drive, helping her move out, and puppy shopping with her.

But when Della wants him to tutor her in more intimate arts, he freaks out - because this little sister is strictly off-limits, and saying yes to Della is asking for a whole lot of trouble.

Asking for Trouble is an exceptional story which takes a sensitive subject of sexual/physical abuse, written with a nice balance of humor and seriousness, so one can enjoy a survivor’s path to love and happiness. For the last three years Della Munroe has slowly recovered from an abusive marriage and wants to take back her life and start living. That means playing the field and do all the things someone her age should be doing. Della figures the best way is to use Tinder to find her groove because finding a forever love is not in her plans. Ideally, she would love to indulge on her crush, Tucker Daniels, her brother’s best friend, but he wouldn’t want someone as damaged as her. That doesn’t mean she couldn’t ask for help.

Tucker Daniels has helped Della move forward by just being a friend. She’s Arlo’s little sister so he knows she’s off limits but he can’t help admiring her and liking her a lot. When she asks him for help sorting out her dates on Tinder, he ends doing a whole lot more like teaching her to drive, escorting her to her dates, and helping her move. When Della asks him to become a sex tutor, a friend with benefits, he can’t believe his good fortune. He’s never been able to say no to her so he agrees to help thinking he can scratch an itch, get her on the right path, and bow out gracefully. What could possibly go wrong?

Asking for Trouble may have been a combination of many tropes in one story but the whole thing worked out for both Della and Tucker. Della fell for her brother’s best friend, learned to love and be loved, and did it with the help, therapy included, of a whole lots of people in Credence. Tucker had to let go of the idea she was too young for him and better off with someone else mentality, and realize he could be the ONE for her. There were some memorable scenes that made me laugh and others that made my heart ache for the pain Della had to endure. Amy Andrews writes with humor and snark, and throws in quirky situations and individuals, and you have an entertaining romance read. Asking for Trouble can be read as a standalone but I think it would be more enjoyable to start from the beginning. Credence is one of those places which I can’t wait to return and catch up with the good people in this small town.

So difficult to decide how to categorise this novel.

Della was rescued from an abusive marriage by her half-brother, Credence Colorado's policeman Arlo. She has spent the last three years living in his shadow and having therapy and finally she feels she might be ready to start dating.

Arlo's best friend Tucker owns the local bar, LumberJack's, which is frequently just shortened to Jack's. Over the past few years Della has spent many an evening propping up the bar, initially drinking too many Pina Coladas, one of the few places she felt safe. Lately Della has had some inappropriate feelings about Tuck, a guy eleven years older than her, but that is what has spurred her to explore the idea of dating.

Tucker can't believe Della is brave enough to try dating, but he's horrified that she's using Tinder and seems unable to spot the douchebags. What starts as being her wingman weeding out the jerks turns into teaching her to drive and then acting as a pseudo-chaperone on her Tinder dates. Then after one steamy, drunken kiss Della asks Tucker if he would be her sex and dating guru - just in case anything triggers any bad memories, she trusts Tucker and knows he will take things slowly.

This could have been a best-friend's-little-sister slash dating-guru romance if it wasn't for the edge given by Della's previous history. It is certainly verrrrry different to the two previous books which have been far more Goldie Hawn-esque romantic comedy. Which isn't to say that this doesn't have its funny moments. What with octogenarian sex lives and a visit to a sex shop there are definitely some signature Amy Andrews laugh-out-loud moments, but they act as light-relief to the slow-burn of Della's sex-life.

I really liked this, a broken but plucky heroine and a gruff but tender-hearted hero having secret liaisons and sex lessons and falling in love. My only criticism? I want Arlo and the erotic novelist's romance and I want it now!

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Bumped for release.

I am loving this series, MS Andrews knows how to write a sexy, fun story that is sure to make any reader smile and sigh she has it down pat, and this one is so good, I chuckled, smiled and needed a fan as Della and Tucker learn a lot on their teacher, student journey to love, happiness and a fabulous HEA.

Della Munroe has been in Credence for three years now overcoming a past that left her very scared, she is doing well after being rescued by her brother Arlo who is the police chief, but the time has come for her to get her life together and find a man and she wants to learn it all find out what she has missed out on and decided Tinder is the way to go, the first date was not so good and she gets talking to Tucker, barman at the Lumberjack and with a push form Arlo, Tucker becomes Della’s wingman, he is sure to be safe to look after Della.

Tucker Daniels grew up in Credence and now runs the local bar he is well liked and best friends with Arlo and Drew, but when he accepts reluctantly to look after Della and help her, he needs to make sure she is safe but keep his heart and feelings well under control Della is off limits big time for a few reasons, but the longer they are together the harder that is to do and when she asks for help and to tutor her in the ways of a man and a woman he is powerless to say no.

The pages were burning up while reading this one it sizzles with sexy fun and heartfelt feelings and Tucker falls for his best friends sister, she is so off limits, but there is no help for the way she makes him feel and Della wow what she has been through and to come out the other end strong and knowing what she wants and goes out and gets it, and that was Tucker woohoo I was cheering her on.

I loved this story, truly it is lots of fun as well as sexy as, it is a beautiful romance and I loved being back in Credence and I look forward to more visits there, thank you MS Andrews another fabulous story one that I highly recommend.

Asking for Trouble
is the third standalone book in the Credence, Colorado series by Amy Andrews. This romance has just the right combination of sweet and heat that I look for in a western romance.

Della has a lot of dark baggage ad she has spent the past three years repair her mind and soul from the abusive marriage she escaped. Now she's more than ready to move on with her life, she wants to experience the world, and she wants to explore her bodies needs and that of the opposite sex. She joins twitter and her brother's best friend, Tucker, helps her navigate her way on their and becomes her wingman. After a few non so stellar dates she decides who better to explore with than someone she trusts and already knows her history. Tucker resists at first but can't deny her so their friendship turns into friends with benefits that we both agree won't ruin their friendship. But when it's time to end their arrangement will either one of them walk away unscathed.

"she was drowning in sensation. All she could do was hold on and follow."

Della's character is well-developed. She is layered with real struggles and a fierce determination to over come them. She's naive about the real world of intimacy in a way that's not annoying or over the top. I admire the way she embraces her independence and sexuality after what she went through. Tucker was charming, dreamy and delicious. The way he handled everything Della threw at him and supported her independence warms your heart. So does the way he focus' completely on her pleasure before
his own and shows her exactly what she's been missing.

"But man... it was like she had him under some kind of spell. He was weak when it came to Della Munroe."

Overall the story was fun. It did drag a little bit for me at times in the beginning with the progression of Tucker and Della's friendship but it did build the sexual tension between them nicely. Asking for Trouble is a brother's best friend, slight age gap, friends to lovers romance that will have you smiling with its cuteness and then fanning yourself from the steam.

A fun and exuberantly sexy romance set in the tiny town of Credence Colorado, where all the guys are hot. So you know going in that there won't be too much realism to buzzkill the fun.

Though Della's background (hinted at all the way through, then revealed late in the book) is grim enough, but Andrews deals deftly with it. There is enough at the start to set up the Little Sister of the Hero's Best Friend trope. Della, severely traumatized, is twenty-five and ready to venture into the world of romance. The problem is, she's had her eye on Tucker, her cop-brother's bestie, who has been bending himself into pretzels trying to regard her as just a little sister.

So she decides to try on-line dating, and also to visit a sex shop. And she talks about it at the retirement home where she works, where an outspoken grandma speaks with the bluntness of those who got used to seventies "tell it like it is." So when it's time to visit the shop, along comes grandma.

After a couple of disaster dates, Della is determined to practice kissing with Tucker, and we know how that's going to go because this is a romance. The fun is in watching it all happen, punctuated by some hilarious conversations about sex toys, and some trenchant observations about how the elderly are not dead below the collarbones, nor should younger people expect them to be.

A fun book.

This is the third book from the Credence, Colorado series by Ms. Amy Andrews. This is Della and Tucker's story. The blurb got me hooked that's why I signed up to read and review this one.

This started very slow for me and didn't get exciting until the about 60% in. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of insta-love but I'm also not a fan of a quite drawn out love journey either—and I feel like this one is. I feel like if some of the entries are cut, this would have been a very exciting read. But it's probably just me...

All in all, I did enjoy it. It's like something out of a Hallmark movie. It has a wee bit of angst but it's also sweet and sexy.

The song You Can Leave Your Hat On kept looping though my brain while reading yet another fantastic story from one of my favorite fictional places Credence, Colorado. Where the men outnumber the women and it's small town yum at it's finest! Pull up a barstool and sit next to me at Jack's so we can watch Della and Tucker as their story unfolds.
Della is the younger half sister to Arlo, the town's police chief and best friend to Tucker. Della has been living with Arlo for three years after he rescued her from an abusive marriage. Saying Arlo is overprotective of Della would be an understatement and is definitely a tad grumpy. Tucker owns Lumberjack's aka Jack's where he's been keeping Della company as she's been perched on a barstool slurping Pina Colada's for the last three years. She's got her eye on Tucker, but Tucker's totally friend zoned her because bro-code and all that. But he's got it bad for Della, seriously bad. Della's been through three years of therapy and feels like she's ready to get back into the dating game for signs up on a dating app. Tucker is the only one who knows and to insure Della's well being and his own reasons he becomes her wingman. Della has a job at the old folks home in town which is full of colorful characters that were hilarious. She gets some dating advice from a few of the residents.
Della also enlists Tucker to teach her to drive. She wants independence as well. Della's past isn't pretty and Amy handles that with grace and honesty. When Tucker has to drive Della to her therapist appointment in Denver they pass a large sex shop along the highway and Della asks Tucker about it, Tucker's response is comical. In fact Tucker in his totally awkward, trying to hold back, fighting his feelings way is a standout character along with his sidekick Della. I loved Della- sassy, a tad naive because of her past, but her spunky spirit and innocent but lusty character just charmed me.
Another member of the trio Jack's along with Arlo would be Drew who picks up on Tucker and Della's vibes and busts his chops over that. When Tucker fesses up, Drew's sworn to secrecy. Arlo isn't happy Della's learning to drive, so when she announces she's getting her own place, he just about threw a hissy. Della gets a car and the road trip includes a day out with her friends, the car full of women head out to the sex shop because that's what women do! Along for the ride is Winona, the town's erotic novel writer, whose many talents extend to somehow getting under Arlo's skin. Just what is going on with those two?? I need to know!
My kindle shot steam as things slowly heated up between Tucker and Della! Flying under the radar and hiding their relationship from Arlo wasn't easy. Della didn't seem to mind much but Tucker about beat himself to death with the whole guilt thing. Things were moving along though until one day Tucker lost every bit of good sense he had, made me want to smack him. His day of reckoning awaits!
The story felt like going home, returning to Credence is an easy trip, the characters are stellar, a little wacky and a lot nosy! I loved watching Della come into her own, she was so well written and Tucker... gotta a love a cowboy who can make a Pina Colada. The supporting characters are the best and I can't wait to see if we get Arlo and Winona's story next!
Another stellar read from Amy. Cue the music!

What a fun but very steamy read this proved to be! It is packed with humour from the very start and had my laughing out loud at so many of the incidents.

Credence, Colorado has a lot more men than women living there so you'd assume that Della Munroe wouldn't find it hard to find someone to at least date. However, she's now lived there for three years and most of the eligible males treat her like she's their younger sister rather than a potential girlfriend. Maybe that isn't totally surprising when you realise she's a domestic abuse victim who was rescued by her big brother and brought to the town for him to protect and to help her recover . . . . and her big brother is the local Sheriff so heaven help anyone who does anything to upset her in any way! There are very few folk he trusts to help her, but one of them is his best friend Tucker Daniels. When Della decides to start using Tinder to try to find someone to date, Tucker is coerced into being her wingman but this definitely makes life even more interesting as he's her secret crush - and she's his!

For those of you looking for romances which have the action behind closed doors, I'll say this definitely has an open door policy! There's romance for a couple of the residents where Della works, hilarious dates,  a ladies outing to visit a local shop where different aids are demonstrated and discussed, a lovely puppy, friendly blackmail and lessons galore in this fun read. Tucker is a real gentle man in every sense and their hot romance starts from a cool beginning but soon heats up! What a brave, resilient and determined young lady  Della has become after such a traumatic experience. These two are great - and so are Drew and Arlo. I really hope they both get their own books soon!

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so.

I'm still mooning over this and so sad that it's over!!! I'm in complete love with this series, with this book, with this author. I need suggestions on what to read next from her and I desperately need Winona's and Arlo's story!!!

Did you just read all that? Do I need to say anything else? Ok, I'll say it.

Credence is a really small town in Colorado that just so happens to have a lot to say. Della has been in the town for three years, getting back her life. She's ready to take the next step. Now Tucker has been next to her all these years, helping her find herself, but now she's asking for a lot... Will all of this trouble lead to what they've both needed?

I'm in love with Amy Andrews' writing, it's so amazingly fluid and cohesive, she changes PO's in a way that makes sense and isn't forced. The stories she writes are amazing, they have depth and so much reality (not all of it, but a lot hahha) and her heroes and so deliciously perfect. I loved reading Della's and Tucker's story. They grew together, they became better people and went for what they wanted in life, just perfection. I also looove all of her supporting characters, I just want to read more and more from them. But her books are really sexy, so it's understandable if not everybody loved them, it's good to be aware of that before going in. This isn't a story that has a thousand layers, it's about the day-to-day lives of these people, going through life and figuring this out. It just so happens to be my all time favorite book to read, and there's cowboys.

I'd highly suggest reading this book and all of this series, it's all delicious. Still not over the fact that I've already finished it...

4 Star Review Asking For Trouble (Credence, Colorado #3) by Amy Andrews

Amy Andrews is a relatively new author to me and I have to ask myself why that is. This is Della Munroe and Tucker Daniels’s story and was heart warming.

Having been rescued from an abusive marriage, Della is finally ready to step back in to the dating game, unfortunately for her, she is not doing a good job in picking her dates and that’s when Tucker decides to step in and keep her safe.

I love small town romance and Asking For Trouble certainly made for entertaining reading. It was wonderful to see Della finally come into her own and I loved how protective and caring Tucker was. The secondary characters were great and I am looking forward to reading their stories.

There was humour and fun with a whole lot of feel good moments. I really l admired Della, she has a strength and determination to grow and learn from her past and I really wanted her to get the happily ever after that she so deserved.

I received a copy through the publisher from Netgalley.

Asking For Trouble is a fantastic contemporary romance by Amy Andrews. Ms. Andrews has provided readers with a well-written book populated with a stellar cast of characters. Kudos to Ms. Andrews for dialog and humor she wove through this story. Della has decided it's time to find a man and is joining Tinder. She enlists her brother's best friend, Tucker, to be her wingman. Della and Tucker's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle and is a fun read. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Amy Andrews. Asking For Trouble is part of the Credence, Colorado Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I just finished Asking for Trouble by @amyandrewsbooks tonight and 🥵🥵🥵🥵. I need some sweet tea to cool down from this one. I have now read all three books in this series and love them all for different reasons. But this one might be my favorite. Tucker is such a sweet cinnamon character. And I loved Della’s back story. Tucker has been a staple in Della’s life after moving to Credence at the end of a painful, abusive marriage. (CW for references to rape and abuse). Della is now ready to get back out there and Tucker acts as her wingman. But they are also harboring feelings for each other. The two of them together is absolute fireworks. Shout out to Rosemary, one of my all time favorite side characters. This one is more Colorado small town romance than cowboy, but the heat level is 🔥🔥🔥. Thank you @entangled_publishing for my copy of this book. We read this is June for my #cowboyupjune read along. .

I think that after the previous books this one was my favorite. Della was saved from an abusive marriage from her brother Arlo-though you cant really say saved because the poor girl really suffered. I was so proud of Della having come from such horrible circumstances she picks herself up and decides she is moving on she was going to start a new chapter. Here comes Tucker, now Della has had a crush on him for about a year and since he is her brothers best friend she knows she is off limits since he treats her like a little sister, but Tucker is seeing her as so much more..They start a secret affair that ends up blowing up in Tuckers face and he regrets what he tell Della to do..I wont tell you more I hoped I piqued you interest..

Andrews has a talent for telling it like is. With a laugh out loud presentation and a strong dose of common sense, Della and Tucker take a long awaited fantasy for a realistic spin. Asking For Trouble is over the top enough to provide some long needed escape and heartwarming enough to provide emotions with something to bring on a smile.

What a good book! It was super entertained and informative. Even though is treated with care, be aware that there is some triggers topics such as domestic abuse and violence. I got emotional in some parts, but had so much fun reading Della’s and Tucker’s story.

If you don’t love Tucker by the end of the book, I don’t know what’s wrong with you! He is the owner of The Lumberjack’s bar and is best friend with Arlo and Drew since forever. He is the typical cowboy with his Stetson, but he is amazing, good friend, protector, supportive, huge heart and as Arlo said, he is the best guy around. He saw Della return from the ashes and only made him love her even more, even though he tried to denied!

Three years ago, Della found out she had a brother, Arlo, but more then that she had a savior and a family. He was the one who saved her from her evil husband. But now three years later and lot of healing and psychotherapy, she is ready to find her way back to dating and experience life. She really wanted Tuck, but she thinks he doesn’t want her.

Their road to get together is fun, full of angst and the slow burn killed me! At some point I was so distressed with them that I said: can you please talk about your feelings and get together for real??? They were so perfect for each other, it was beautiful to read Della’s growth of confidence, she was so strong and deserved only the best in the world. And Tucker with his patience, support and love made me swoon and his line about love and sacrifice? OMG!

What I loved so much as well, was the side characters! Drew was my favorite of all, so funny! Closed by Rosemary and Winona. Arlo was good too, but he need to learn to let go a little (and he is learning!). And there is Molly and Marley too. I hope there is more books ahead with at least Drew, Arlo and Winona stories. I also loved how the whole town was supportive of Della, I want to live there too! And how fun was the girls trip do Frieda’s? Very informative!

Even though the book is written in a third POV, which is not my favorite, I super enjoyed reading. I loved the ending, but wish I could read more ahead of their lives as well, I wanted a little more of Tucker and Della. Sue me!

*I received this book free from the author.*

Tucker is in love with his best friends younger sister. He won't admit to anyone, let alone himself.

"Talking about bases with my friend's little sister? I'd rather set fire to the bar."

Della had a hard childhood and then an awful marriage. Her half-brother found her and saved her from the hell she was in. If you've read the previous books in this series you've learned a little about her.

It took years for her to find herself again, but once she did she wanted to get back to as much normal as possible. Truly what she wanted was Tucker, but she knew he didn't like her like that, so the next best thing...dating app. And who best to help her...Tucker. Why? Because he was the first picture that popped up on her screen. Of course he had it deleted before she could swipe right.

"Are they all so...scandalous?"

Her dating app escapades were a little humorous, mostly because of her inexperience. However, for Tucker, they were torture. Until one night Della decided to make a move and poor Tucker couldn't resist what he'd been secretly desiring.

"Well...you're also a really attractive guy who" - her gaze dropped to his mouth - "looks like he knows how to kiss a woman just right."

All they had to do now was decide if they were temporary, like planned, or in it for the long haul. Oh, and someone had to tell her brother. Yikes! I wouldn't have wanted to that's for sure. He is a little overprotective, but also understandably so.

Asking for Trouble is another good book in the Credence, Colorado series. It takes two broken people and makes them whole. I'm looking forward to seeing where else this series goes.

Oh and love all things Frieda! Love the discussion about going there between Della and Tucker. Definitely loved the actual trip there with the girls. Can't wait to see if maybe a certain writer and cop discover a flame of their own.

This is the third book in the Credence, Colorado series, I read Nothing But Trouble (#1) this time last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, so it came as no surprise that this was just as enjoyable.

Asking For Trouble deals with the repercussions of domestic abuse, by a parent and by a husband.

Della has lived in Credence for the past 3 years, ever since her brother Wade, the local cop rescued her. She's spent her time getting her life together and sitting at Tucker's bar learning to feel safe and learning about friends.

Tucker is Wade's best mate and as such feels obligated to protect Della and help her in any way he can. Being her wingman as she learns to date probably wasn't what he had in mind.

I really loved these two, their friendship which starts with Tucker giving Della and then getting roped into being her wingman as she goes on Tinder dates, slowly grows into something more.

Della tasks Tucker with teaching her about her sexuality, and she couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Tucker is the kind of guy every girl dreams of. He's gorgeous, attentive, and protective, but he has hangups about how he feels about Della, his age, his friendship with her brother and her past. Watching these two explore each other and their feelings was all kinds of fun. And hoping they can both get their acts together and decide how they truly feel about each other was fun too.

Della certainly comes into her own as the story progresses and that's no small thanks to Tucker. But also to her friends and Rosemary, one of the residents the old people's home she works at. Rosemary is just an absolute hoot and she certainly teaches Della a thing or two, probably more than Della wished to know.

A great read with a happy ending.

Thank you @entangled_publishing for gifting me an ecopy of this in trade for my honest opinion!

I'm gonna start out by saying that this cover cracks me up! It's not something I would typically read, but I had to find out what "Mr Howdy Ma'am" was all about. My Bestie and I have been in a few giggle fits thanks to this book. It's memorable and I love it!

Della is a domestic/sexual abuse survivor. She married the wrong man and paid dearly for it. Until a brother she didn't know she had showed up to rescue her. He pulled her out of the abuse and took her to his tiny hometown to start facing her demons. 3 years and a lot of therapy later, she feels she is ready to try dating again. She has needs dammit.

With the help of her longtime friend, Tucker, she downloads Tinder and vows she will just have some fun. Tucker agrees to be her wingman and help her weed out the weirdos. Tucker drives her to Denver on Friday nights for these dates and waits across the street in case she needs him. Seriously the biggest sweetheart on the planet! Mr Howdy Ma'am is a studly gentleman.

Of course while helping her through all of this, they fall in love with each other but neither is willing to take it any further. Such is the conundrum of Della and Tucker.

That being said, I loved this book! I love that Della is a fighter. I love that Tucker is such a patient man. I love that Arlo reminds me of Charlie from Twilight. I love Rosemary cause she's freaking hilarious. This book brought more than a few laughs and had me turning pages pretty fast through some parts. It's just the right amount of steamy and real.

Asking for Trouble by Amy Andrews
Credence, Colorado #3

A woman who with issues to overcome
A man who acts as wingman
And after awhile...more
Will they realize what they could have
Or let it all blow away…

Della is ready to move on with her life. She had a rough four years of marriage, was saved by a brother she didn’t know she had, saw a counselor and knows it is her time to shine. Joining Tinder might not be the way most would go but that is what she decided to do. Tucker Daniels, the best friend of Della’s brother, is there for Della as a pseudo-brother at first...and then things begin to change…

What I liked:
* Della: found strength to move on after a rough time. She comes into her own and is a force to be reckoned with.
* Tucker: a man I admired...though I did have trouble understanding his reasoning from time to time. So glad he finally wised up there at the end.
* Drew: I REALLY want to read his story...if anyone could be a studly undertaker this could be the man
* Arlo: a great brother to Della and a man that also would be someone I would like to see star in his own romance
* The women friends of all ages – they added that little bit extra and I want to hear more about them in future books
* Rosemary’s part of the book – oh to be 80 and as wise and wonderful as she was in this book!
* The smiles and fun and steamy bits and getting to know the characters so well even though there were some heavier issues that were also addressed.

What I didn’t like:
* Della’s ex-husband, her father and her father-in-law. I know men like that exist but hate to be reminded of it sometimes.

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled AMARA for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This book contains descriptions of physical and sexual abuse in one of the character’s past relationships. Could easily be triggering for some people.

While I think a content warning is necessary both on sites of sale and within the book itself, this was an engaging and delightful read. Della is a beautiful character, absolutely inspiring in her strength and determination and I loved the fact that her self-care was not only her own priority but that of those in her circle as well. This Credence series is lovely in that is espouses one of the nicer parts of small-town living, that people take care of each other.

Tucker is a bloody delight - all kinds of sexy strength and enlightenment. He just CARES so much and it’s so touching to see him trying to do what’s best for Della even when it leaves him suffering. The combination of Tucker and Drew using common sense to balance out Della’s brother’s (understandable) protectiveness brings a lovely balance of humour and common sense to a trope that could seem heavy-handed.

The fake-date scene was my favourite - I loved the combination of chivalry, humour and honesty between the characters that really highlights how truly good they could be together.

This book is a five star read for a well-rounded story that checks all the boxes of a hilarious and delightful small-town romance. Also a five star read as a warning to avoid the horrors of Tinder.

There are times when books draw you in and touch your heart. They make you cry, they make you laugh, they make you think and in the end you wish you could walk into the pages of the story and give the main characters, in this case Della and Tucker, a hug and tell them they were meant to be .
This is such a book. The story centers around Della Munroe and Tucker Daniels. Bella has been in Cadence for three years living with her brother, the town’s sheriff. A brother she knew nothing about, but one that without hesitation, rescued her from a life of abuse and gave her a shelter. Each day she’s doing better and is ready to try and spread her wings.
Tucker is the owner of the local bar and best friend’s with Della’s brother. He’s been attracted to her since early on, when she would come to the bar to bury her sorrows. But the bro creed is not one to be crossed, and he thinks he’s too old for her.
But life has a way of changing one’s destiny and what was to be a learning experience becomes more than that.
Will Della get to be “free” and discover that contrary to her original beliefs, she’s worthy of love ? Will Tucker get over his own doubts?
A story worth your time. Be sure and have your hankies ready.

Della is trying to get back on the saddle after experiencing trauma. She just wants things to go back to normal and finally start dating again. Problem is that shes using Tinder for help and shes sure getting a lot more then she wanted. Now shes trying to get help from her older brothers best friend Tucker for some help as a wing man. They are both into eachother but he keeps treating her with kid gloves and its complicated with her past and his friendship status with her brother.

So while I enjoyed this book is there such a thing as too much steam? I like books with a bit of steam and sexy talk and this book was a bit too much for me. If that's something you dont mind then you'll like this book. Personally if I had known I probably would've been iffy about picking this book up. Even after that I loved the overall story and getting to know the characters. I loved seeing that attraction between Della and Tucker. I loved how supportive he was as well as those around her, helping her get past what she went though and just being there for her. Overall pretty good book I did enjoy it.

Three years ago, Della was rescued from an abusive marriage by her previously unknown big brother Arlo. Arlo brought Della back to Credence with him where she has spent this time recuperating, going to therapy and sometimes drinking too much in Jack's the local bar. Tucker is a friend of her brother's, eleven years her senior and owner of Jack's. He has spent many nights looking out for Della as she strives to recover from her previous life, but when she decides to get back in the dating game and signs up for Tinder, Tucker is horrified especially as she can't seem to figure out who the douchbags are. After a drunken kiss, Della asks Tucker to be her teacher, because she trusts him and she's worried about any flashbacks or triggers and as Tucker has trouble saying no to Della, he soon finds himself being more immersed in her life than he is comfortable with. Della is after all the sister of one of his best friends. Fun story, with some deep issues, that are handled very sensitively.

Ok I officially love this series. This was very much a woman on fire book. Della has been recovering in Colorado after escaping from an abusive husband, and father in law. She is learning to speak her mind, and explore all the things she missed. Including Tinder.

While she is getting her feet wet her brother Arlo has enlisted Tucker his best friend to watch over her. Tucker becomes her wingman to teach her what to watch out for, and to help her pick her dates. She is strickly off limit as her brother's best friend but when she offers up a no strings "sex education" he struggles to resist. Problems is he has been interested in her for awhile but can he really do it and not fall for her.

So many sweet moments, lots of sexual chemistry, and a sex crazed grandma who speaks candidly for some laugh out loud moments.

Asking For Trouble is fun, sexy, and greatly satisfying, yet emotional and touching in parts as well. I practically devoured it from page one. I loved both of the main characters so much! Tucker is definitely the type of man every girl dreams of and to say Della has had a rough past is a huge understatement. The fact that they've had a crush on each other that neither let themselves fully admit much less tell anyone is so endearing. It made me so happy to see them finally getting together. I was so worried about how her overprotective brother Arlo would react when he found out. This is such a fun series and I am so looking forward to reading the next book. Although each of these books can also totally be enjoyed as a standalone as well. If all of Amy Andrews books are as good as this one though I will just have to read them all!

ARC for honest review with no compensation received from NetGalley 4.5 stars

Asking for Trouble is book 3 in the Credence, Colorado series by Amy Andrews and a great addition.

Della Monroe, abused wife, rescued by her half brother Arlo who brings her back to Credence. After 3 years of therapy, dealing with the abuse from her former life she feels she’s brave enough to start dating...maybe...

Tucker Daniels, best friend of Arlo, bar owner and has watched Della navigate her life but when she thinks about dating...she wants Tucker to be her wingman and help her navigate the ins and outs.

What happens next is...secret crush, off limits bro code, wingman, hidden feelings, laughter, sexy times and finding their HEA...

I didn't not like this book. I just feel like I spent a whole lot of time trying to remember things from the previous books in the series that I couldn't enjoy this one as much as I might have. I think this book has some great characters with depth. Good representation of therapy and talking to a professional rather than I need a hot man to fix me (yes I'm looking directly at you Done and Dusted) which is always a positive. Tucker was a little hypocritical cause he's advocate for Della when talking to Arlo but then immediately forget about his points when he interacting with her. Also he kinda didn't really listen to her which annoyed me.

The next book in this series, set in Credence, Colorado.

Della has been there for a few years, after her brother rescued her from an abusive relationship. It has taken her a long time to get where she is now, and finally ready to start dating again. She would like it to be Tucker, but he is her brothers best friend. Can she convince him to date her?

A great read, but very emotional at times, especially when Della opens up and shares what has happened to her.

Looking forward to the rest of this series.
