I met a man and fell in love. Only I had no idea who he really was. I had no idea that his real identity was going to shatter my world. I had no idea that, that night set off a series of events that was going to blow-up my life.
Some people think I don't believe in love. I live a crazy life you see. However, they don't know who I am inside. They don't know the secrets I hold or the desires I flame.
My name is Saskia and this is my story. Hold on for this is one roller-coaster ride you do not want to miss.
WELL, THIS WILL BE LIKE NOTHING YOU'VE READ BEFORE!!
Sex,lies,betrayal.. Sex,lies,betrayal.. Sex,lies,betrayal....get the picture??
This is one seriously f*cked up BOOK and I absolutely LOVED it
Can't really go into story as it would spoil it...but let's just say everyone is F*cking everyone else ( well mainly Saskia is ) The main characters are all interwoven with disastrous results !!
It is a real car crash of a read but,my God, it had me gripped....I couldn't wait to see the way it was going to go...keeps you guessing right until the end
I can't decide if I absolutely hated or loved this--thus my average rating. On one hand I read if straight thru, unable to stop myself. On the other hand, this was the biggest roller coaster ride of sex and confusion. I swear, Brad was an afterthought on the author's part. Anyway, even of this novel was crazy and random, I still Couldn't put it down and have started the second book free on the website.
First of all, why the hell would you end up marrying some sick, perverted freak like that guy?! It's weird and strange... So many guys and secrets, It's hard to keep up. But I will say one thing, this book kept me on my toes. The way this story told, ahh! its a great read but I can't help but think how many people *cough* -men- are used in this book in so many ways... Wacky, musing and preposterous guys fill this book with their own crazy fucking lifestyles that make me want to cringe.
The way the story ended I'm just itching to read the next but I'm kinda scared for finding out about the rest of the secrets that Saskia has to tell because, lets face it, they're pretty fucking dark.
I brought this book on ibooks and I'm not going to lie, I regret having such sick a twisted story on my mac and other apple devices because some of the characters are so crazy in their sex lives...
I absolutely love the '50 shades of grey' trilogy. I'd deal with BDSM any day over having to read a guy sharing his girl with his dad... together, like, both at the same time. is that incest? it should be! *hurl*. At least reading a little BDSM I also got to read some heart warming pages apposed to the pages that i read which made me want to scream out "STOP SLEEPING AROUND, PICK ONE GUY FOR GODS SAKE AND TRY NOT FUCKING YOUR BEST FRIENDS DAD!"
It's not what I expected at all. Each chapter held It's own shady yet enthralling secret. I whizzed through this book because its exciting and unpredictable turn outs.
I do recommend this book, though I am defiantly in need of reading a non-twisted book that has a HEA. Maybe I could just read 'Fifty shades freed' again and finally read something that doesn't include a woman sleeping with her best friends husband (baby daddy) , brother, the guy best friend, the old guy who uses viagra and his god damned son who she thinks is acceptable to marry.

What a mind blogging story!!! I loved every minute of it!!! What wonderfully created characters!!! Not too mention the web of story that was so unique. It's like nothing you've read before!!
When I think of Saskia, I recall a phrase used by another author. I wish I could remember which author coined this phrase, to give them props, but can't recall :( So back to Saskia and the phrase...this girl must have a voodoo p!ssy.... and she must put off some serious pheromones..lol
I can't believe how her life ended up!!! Thank God there is more to the story. I want a different ending!!
*I received a free Audible audiobook in exchange for my honest review*
STORY: I might have rated this book 5 stars if the story had ended 63% in. Had the book come to a conclusion after Saskia learned that Aiden and Dominic this might have been a truly fantastic story. However, Cooper continues on, spinning webs for female main character Saskia to entangle herself in, pushing the story to what I felt were unrealistic places . As I just stated, I thought the story of Saskia, Dominic and Aiden was great; karma comes back to bite Saskia, she gets what she deserves! The problem for me though is that literally minutes after Saskia decides she doesn't want . Saskia barely mentioned this guy's name during the first 63% of the book yet she suddenly has an epiphany that Come on!?!? As I said, if the book had ended at 63%, it would have concluded perfectly yet the last 37% of the book was far-fetched and ridiculous.
Either the writing of this book was poor or the editing was lacking. Aside from being far-fetched and asinine, the inconsistencies during the last quarter of this book were beyond frustrating. For example, at 84% (before Saskia discloses who she isSaskia tells us she believes in love, she wants love, she is in love. However, literally a few pages later at 85%, Cooper has Saskia explaining, "why I don't believe in love". In addition, Cooper repeatedly tries to create a sense of excitement by having the Saskia say things such as, "but then, things get even worse" or, "... You see, what happened next in my life, shook everything around me and caused it to collapse". Statements like these are made throughout the book, positive and negative yet the supposedly exciting or dreadful tale that follows these warnings are rarely exciting or dreadful. Basically, had this book ended much earlier, it could have been something really great. However, Cooper apparently didn't know when enough was enough
PERFORMANCE: Narrator Rebecca Roberts' performance was truly phenomenal! With her sugary sweet voice, I immediately recognized what a perfect fit she was for the female main character Saskia. Soon after having that thought, I found myself feeling even more impressed with Roberts who proved to be quite capable of altering her voice, easily fluctuating between Saskia's saccharine-sweet feminine voice to one of the powerful male characters. Had I read this book instead of listening to it in audio format, I highly suspect that my star rating of the story would have been even lower. Ms. Roberts brought life to this book, helping me believe some of the less plausible aspects of the storyline. I will definitely be looking for more audiobooks narrated by this talented woman!
Not my usual kind of book but boy was it a page turner for me. So many twists and turns and I literally could not read fast enough. I'm almost disgusted with myself at how caught up I was in this girl's life. She was so dirty, unapologetically so, and the drama just kept coming. Will definitely be checking out the sequel.
Listening to the introduction to the True Diary of That Girl threw me more than when I read it. The stark calibre of the content in isolation made it awkward but it’s not long before Dominic makes his presence known and then I found the story a lot more palatable. What you need to keep in mind, is the story is told as Saskia’s memoirs which heightened the emotions being shared.
My general rule for listening to an audio book is only choosing books I have already read. Having already reviewed this book, this review will feature mainly on my listening experience. I need to congratulate Rebecca Roberts for her portrayal of male and female roles. It was similar to the silent voice that I use when I’m reading. It amuses me to try and work out what I am looking for in a narrator and I am starting to realise it has more to do with their tone rather than an accent. Being an Australian reader, listening to distinctive accents and pronunciations that differ from what I am used to tends to distract me. Rebecca’s accent didn’t factor into my listening experience, which is an aspect that impressed me. The narrator can make or break an audio book for me, so finding someone that brings a book to life is exciting and I will be looking out for more of her work.
The downside of listening to books you’re familiar with is the element of suspense is dulled somewhat. The adaptation provides an insight via the diction and emphasis the narrator uses. This can challenge the initial interpretation of the story based on the written word alone. There are some aspects of writing that are entertaining to read but are cringe worthy to listen to. My big bug bear is listening to text messages being read out. It just doesn’t work for me at all. I don’t know how you get around that in an audio book, but announcing who was messaging would be a suggestion to ease my frustration. Hearing ‘Dominic’ on repeat for the sake of a long string of messages that contained minimal words was tedious. Fortunately, the messaging in this story was limited to an isolated section towards the beginning of the story.
This book doesn’t hold back on details and listening to the details of Saskia’s sexcapades was more confronting than when I read it. I hoped and prayed that the volume on my phone was not loud enough to be heard by others as I spent a lot of time listening to this book while commuting. No amount of explanation would have saved me if I was forced to explain any of this book should it have been broadcast unexpectedly!
Rating this story the second time, it had a more of a 4 star air to it. As I was basing it on the narration, I decided to leave my original rating as it was taking into consideration it was the suspense element that initially played a significant factor the first time I read this book.
A copy of the audio book was provided in exchange for an honest review.
My first thoughts when I read the ebook version:
I had no idea that at the beginning of this book that I would become so drawn into this story. A soap opera of epic proportions. Still wondering if I need to work out how all the characters fit together. A very different story, recounted through an intimate recount of one busy girl. Thanks Page for the loan :)
I have never written a bad review on a book because my opinion is that everyone has different tastes & just because I didn't like it doesn't mean that someone else might not love it. I have read several books by this author & liked them; however, this book is the exception. I LOVED 50 shades of grey, with that said I can handle some graphic books. This book made me feel dirty, like gross. I don't think it was the details of the sex that did that, I think it was that she would have sex with anyone she saw anywhere. I didn't finish the book. *** SPOILER ALERT*** The lead character walks in on a father & son doing a three some. Sorry but I find that grotesque. If you don't then read on, but if you do consider yourself warned.
What The Hell did I just read? Talk about messed up people!!!!!! Saskia is a complete sex addict and slut. The men in this story are piece of sh*ts, only Natasha, the BFF, has morals. Aiden, Dom, Tom,.... hell there are even others, but I can't name who is who. This book is truly twisted!!!!! But twisted and good!!!!
Holy crap this book was CRAZY!!! I honestly don't even know if I liked the story or not but holy hell was it a great read!!! (Ok, I don't really mean that, I loved the story!!) I've never read a storyline like this before and everything that happened completely shocked me! I was drawn into this book from the very beginning. There were so many things that were going on that I hated so much that it actually made me like the story that much more! I have a love-hate relationship with Saskia. I hate her so much sometimes but at the end of it all, I love her. I can't believe the way her life ended up and I can't wait for the next book!!
F*ck! What did I just read? In the history of perverted relationships "that girl" had it. This was a real train wreck waiting to happen, I gave it five stars because I couldn't stop reading to see what would happen next. Know that our girl has a twisted notion of what was the truth in her head, sometimes she's in denial. Is she the manipulator or is she being manipulated? There is a ton of triggers in this book, so be warned. She is not a character I would normally root for, but in some strange way I wanted her to get her HEA. It's a cliffy.
CHEATING CHEATING AND MORE CHEATING! Just be warned, in case you can't stand books like that. Because I can't stand cheating maybe that hurt my rating for this book-I don't know. Parts of this were boring. Parts of it were interesting. There was sex, but nothing seemed hot or steamy or even sexy to me. I swear all of the crazy screwed up decisions she made really make me think she is psycho. I hated how it ended too. It states there is a sequel called The True Diary of That Guy. However, I don't want to read it, especially if it's just a different pov of the exact same story.
I'm conflicted. I didn't like it, but I didn't love it either. This was hard to rate, so I just went with a 3 star. To be fair, she says this story isn't a typical HEA. I think she actually says there is no HEA. I got extremely fed up with all the sex in this book. Seriously, back to back uncaring sex. The Aiden and Dominic deal was an interesting sickening twist. It's really hard to explain this one. You really have to read it for yourself and come up with your own conclusion.
This book made me mad at times. The main character was definitely a sex addict with major issues. The men in her life are just as messed up as her. I know it's a story but I couldn't see how you wouldn't know who you're fucking even its from behind. Brad still married her best friend even though he is in love w her and she says yes to the man who wanted to share her w his father. Just all messed up!!! Not sure if I will read the sequel. Honestly if I had know there was a sequel I probably wouldn't have gotten the book.
A mind boggling must read! I was seriously blown away by this book! This book gets down to the nitty gritty of all things lies, sex, betrayal, and love!! This is not your typical JS Cooper read. It is unique and hot and will keep you guessing! I would really love to see a sequel to this because there is more to this crazy intriguing story! If you thought your life was screwed up, think again! Saskia is one spitfire of a woman and her story will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time!!
That's it!?!?!?! What happens? What does Brad do when he finds out about the baby? Did anyone else notice the wife bomb Dominick dropped? - "My dad feels bad for fucking his sons wife..." - So were Jessie and him married? Was Jessie all talk? How deep does the Aiden and Dominick shenanigans go? Who was Tom on the phone with? Why did David go into the bathroom? What happened to Brad or Mark? Were they all tricking her? What happened with Mark? Why didn't Natasha tell her best friend about the gallery opening? GAH!!!!! What a wicked cliffhanger... And what a messed up story...
OMG!!!! THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! !!!! YOU CAN NOT KEEP UP WITH THE AUTHOR AND ALL HER CRAZINESS....BUT YOU WILL ENJOY READING IT.....THIS IS MY FAVORITE BY FAR!!!! IT HAS SEX...HOT SCORCHING SEX...... SECRETS THAT WILL SHOCK THE HECK OUT OF YOU!!!! ANGST.....KEEPS YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOU SEAT.....YOU GET FEELINGS TOO.....OF LOVE AND LOSS.....YOU WILL DEF NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED!!!!
I'm still not sure what to rate this book because in still not sure what I read. I liked it but it was kind of crazy all over the place. kind of made my head spin. (I only slept with brad once, but really I slept with him another time) I did but I didn't. I know but I don't know. I'm just kind of lost in it all. I'm sure my review isn't helping you any but if you think this is twisted and confusing, wait till you read the book.
Makin penasaran ketika diending pun blm terjawab pertanyaan tsb. Jadi alhasil musti ngg lanjutannya keluar dulu. Yah overall gw suka dgn ebook ini, krn sangat unik.
The only reason I read this was because it was short. With the amount of self destruction and sluttines the book has am I glad I didn't waste more of my time. The writing was good but the plot is twisted. Different but didn't pull me. It got sickening and redundant. Cliffhanger ending and she still didn't get her man. The sex was good but total turn off after awhile.
This was my first experience with narration by Rebecca Roberts and I look forward to more. Her soothing voice style positively contributes to the writing style of this particular book especially well! I truly felt the narrative expression all throughout!
The book genre was already a favorite for me, and listening to the audio was far more satisfying that I could have ever expected! I look forward to more from this author as well as this narrator.
I listened to the audio version of this book. I loved all of the twists and turns of this book and I am still amazed at how it ended. Not how you would expect at all. Kept me interested from start to finish, I read right through with no breaks. It had everything from hot steamy sex, lies, secrets, scandals and suspense. An enjoyable read for sure. Rebecca Roberts did an excellent job narrating this book and really brought the book to life.
Probably a 2.5. What a mess these characters were. Every single one of them! With the possible exception of Natasha. It just really wasn't my thing, unfortunately. Didn't care for the characters, didn't care for all of the ominous foreshadowing that was in every single chapter. Multiple times. :/
This book was totally mind blowing. Every time I thought I understood what was happening, I was thrown another curve ball. There are so many crazy twists and turns in this book...I was totally hooked from the beginning. I couldn't wait to get to the end to see what happened...read this book, you won't be sorry!!!
I loved this story, Saskia is a girl with balls she doesn't let men walk over her. She uses them for her own pleasure but hey when a woman does that she gets named as bitch but when men to that the are praised by their mates.
Great story again from J.S. Cooper I can't wait to read the sequel The true Diary of That Guy.K
I have been reading the free serial on J.S 's blog and all I can say is OMG I love it. I don't know where she comes up with these twist but I absolutely enjoyed every second of it and now look forward to True Diary of that Guy. Read, Read, Read you will not be disappointed!
I'm just going to say, this is a really, really, really messed up book. I just don't know what to think of it. What I can say, is that this is a really different side of the author from what I've read of her. The dynamic, the interaction, the attitude, all in general was very different.
Love all of Js coopers books and I loved this one as well I loved the fact that this one was free chapter by chapter on her website and was a crazy hot read and loved every bit of it!!!!
