The author provided me with a digital ARC of this book for reviewing purposes. All views and opinions are my own.

If you've been creeping in my reviews for awhile, you'll know that I have already spoken about short story collections, and how they are an excellent way to introduce yourself to a writers voice and the range of their ability. If this happens to be the first of my reviews that you are reading...well then welcome!. Pull up a chair won't you? I'm always reading, so we'll be here awhile.
Now where was I...Oh yes..
Where Evil Grows is a collection of some of Scott McGregor s previously published short fiction pieces. However, instead of resting on the merit of pieces as they were previously released, McGregor has taken the opportunity with this book to tweak, reshape and improve on what he previously wrote, a perfect example of the reality that writers exist in. The oroborous of writing. Collectively Where Evil Grows amounts to the author showing off a menagerie of Tattoos, flexing as needed to showcase the detail. The variety and range of the stories McGregor has written will not fail to entertain and surprise.

As someone who has read a couple of the previously published stories that appear in this eclectic lineup, I was just itching to get my hands on McGregor's collection. Each tale is cleverly written, with twist after twist, there isn't a weak one in the pack.

Full disclosure, 'Emuki' was part of a special project, so it holds a firm place in my heart. That said, 'Jinglehaimer' became a fast favourite for me. Needless to say, I highly recommend Scott McGregor's Where Evil Grows.
