Rate this book

Practical with examples

A very quick read but well worth it for some good tips on what to identify and how to combat gaslighting. Believe your friends and family folks!

Another good primer on what hopefully is becoming a larger voice. Another book that is good in the category, "defence against the dark arts." The same dark arts that fox news, the GQP, and qanon represent.

Scarily true, was slightly sidetracked by the fact that the author thinks Donald Trump gaslighted Americans into voting for him and that he is Putins puppet (my interpretation of his wording)

I wonder whom or how "acclaimed" Emory Green as a psychologist. There is no mention of his actual degree or from which institution it was attained. This self published book contains zero footnotes or backing documentation of studies. It sets out to inform the reader about Gaslighting and does so via "examples" and "stories." They seem to be solid examples, but where are the "studies" or corroborating experts? Instead, Mr.Green includes his political persuasion examples in a sandwiching manner; both starting and ending the book with them.
Despite some possibly helpful examples of Gaslighting, I cannot recommend this short little book due to its lack of supporting science. I found the "free" offer at the close of the book for an ebook on Conversational Hypnosis a fitting ending to this undocumented "missive." (104 page book.)
Not worth your time; find a better writer and book.

Like a layer of armour

Frankly it’s incisive and revealing - I deal with a lot of young people and am always trying to get them to pay attention to what they call ‘mind games’ - which manifests in bullying and psychological abuse.

Relatable and wide reaching, this gives you a great insight into relationship imbalances whether that’s amongst friends, siblings, or of course partners.

A brilliant primer and genuinely a layer of armour of protection allowing people to be more prepared for the rough and tumble of other humans.

This is right up my alley. This is a concise yet inciteful and thought-provoking book. The fact is gaslighting is all around us and it is only when we review experiences we realise that we have been gaslighted and not noticed. There are no surprises that more than one reference is made about Donald Trump.

Easy and quick to read. Good choice for anyone wanting to initially get to grips with gaslighting. However didn't go into enough detail on unconscious gaslighting for me and how to deal with it in constructive manner which is the type I am interested in.
Also unreferenced and could have been enriched with references and links to research

The author shows you what to look out for or that you can think back on to have a better idea if you were gaslighted. A useful read because knowledge is power.

This is a MLA in Alberta.
Sadly.
One smoker pays $8k in taxes each year in Canada and she gaslights her position to say instead of $5k a group has to pay $50k.

A church and sure as hell pay $5k as a group if one person making $20k a year pays $8k in taxes to smoke.

Yet the fractured cons say it’s a 50% pay increase rather than a 50% tax bracket.

In-between Russia media interfering in elections, you have Chinese military sowing distrust with western-vets using social media forums.
It's a catastrophe with correlation vs causation in our political life. Why We're so Polarized, between identities and ideologies with only represents a vary small percentage of people sows distrust in a majority of a population with chat-bots and an AI-republic.
For moderates and partisanship an MLA who in charge of firearms is.

Fed by conspiracies from chat bots for misnomer Quanon with other forums that actually dealing with reality. Divisiveness is. AI-republic of military chat bots 🙄 translation of Chinese conjugated verbs into English-speaking homes. It's why it's so important to get rural Wi-Fi connections.

Écoute en livre audio. Instructif.
